Ho! Ho! Noooooooo…. Santa fell out of his sleigh during Saturday’s  “A Christmas Fantasy” afternoon parade at the Disneyland Resort. We can see the whole thing from the video we found by Mollie Gomez on Facebook who was live in the park recording the parade.

Santa wasn’t harmed at all as he can be seen wearing a safety harness as he dangled in from the collapsed sleigh. He kept his composure and was jolly the entire time. Like the champ he is, Santa got released from the harness and walked the rest of the parade waving and interacting with guests. This was a fluke accident and we are sure that between Disney magic and Santa’s mojo, everything will be back to normal very soon. Santa wouldn’t let anything get in his way from delivering all those gifts around the world on Christmas night.

The last parade incident was at Walt Disney World when Maleficent lost her temper and had a fire malfunction. I personally love her and I am very happy she returned! It is almost enough to make me book a trip back down to WDW!  Earlier this year Mal had a bad day and got a little steamed… Who could say why? Maybe a dancer got in her way. Maybe the music was too loud and taking away from her impressive display. Maybe one of those annoying bloggers was taking too many shots of her and she just wasn’t having it. Whatever the reason, she got worked up and blew her top. None of that matters now because she is back!  We aren’t sure if she will still be in all of her fire-breathing glory, but we are hopeful. You can see the video here of the original incident.

We Get to Take A Sneak Peek at the New Jaleo Menu.

New Jaleo Menu

We Get to Take A Sneak Peek at the New Jaleo Menu!

We have a sneak peak of the new Jaleo menu that will be coming to the Disney Springs area next fall!  This place sounds amazing and will be a good addition to the growing community!

The sixth Jaleo will open fall 2019 in Disney Springs at the Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. This Jaleo will be the biggest and most spectacular location yet, housed in a dynamic, multi-level space.  You can also find this restaurant in a few other locations, such as; Bethesda, MD, Washington, DC, Mexico City, Las Vegas, and Crystal City.

This unique restaurant was created by Chef José Andrés and his team, bringing alive the spirit and flavors of Spain by showcasing the rich regional diversity of Spanish cuisine. Celebrating the traditional as well as the cutting-edge, Jaleo offers a taste of Spain in a festive, stylish, and casual atmosphere.

The menu, which features plates designed to be shared, will feature an extensive variety of tapas reflecting the rich regional diversity of traditional and contemporary Spanish cuisine in addition to a variety of authentic paellas cooked over a wood fire in the restaurant.

Guests can enjoy appetizers to start, such as, Pan de Cristal con Tomate are toasted slices of uniquely crispy and ethereal brad brushed with frest tomato, Plate de Queso Manchego Pasamontes which is raw sheep’s milk cheese handmade from and ancient recipe, or variety of Embutidos to name a few.

New Jaleo Menu

Guests will also be wow’d by the Ensaladas y mas section that provides some traditional and unique soups and salads.  The Gazpacho Estilo Algeciras which is a classic chilled Spanish soup made with tomatoes, cucumber, peppers, and bread sounds so good!

Vegetarians can enjoy meals here as well!  There are many options on the menu, one option is Escalivada Catalana could be your go-to option, which consists of roasted red peppers, eggplant and sweet onions with sherry dressing, served with toasted bread.

This menu has something for everyone! I could go on forever explaining the different options.  I especially love that there are multiple choices to choose from!  We have all been there when there are only a few things to pick from and none of them are exactly what we want.  I don’t think you need to worry about that here, even the kids will be satisfied with their menu selections.  Don’t take my word for it, take a look at the complete menu here.

Judge orders poacher to watch Bambi as part of his sentence

A judge has ordered a Missouri poacher a very interesting ruling as part of his sentence for illegally killing hundreds of deer.

David Berry Jr. was ordered to watch the Disney classic “Bambi” at least once a month during his yearlong jail sentence in what conservation agents have called one of the largest deer poaching cases in state history, the Springfield News-Leader reports .

“The deer were trophy bucks taken illegally, mostly at night, for their heads, leaving the bodies of the deer to waste,” said Don Trotter, the prosecuting attorney in Lawrence County.

Davide Berry Jr, his father, two brothers and another man who helped them had their hunting, fishing and trapping privileges revoked. The men have paid a combined $51,000 in fines and court costs — but the judge ordered a special addition to Berry’s sentence for illegally taking wildlife.

Court records show he was ordered by Lawrence County Judge Robert George to “view the Walt Disney movie Bambi, with the first viewing being on or before December 23, 2018, and at least one such viewing each month thereafter” while at the county jail.

Berry was also sentenced to 120 days in jail in nearby Barton County for a firearms probation violation.

Disney Vacation Club Annual Dues Have Increased for 2019

Disney Vacation Club Annual Dues Have Increased for 2019

Disney Vacation Club members have noticed an increase on their 2019 annual dues. Our writer Whitney is a DVC owner of 150 points at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and her dues have gone up $83 for 2019.  Another writer’s parents own 270 points at Boulder Ridge and their increase was just over $100.

After calling in to verify, we have found that increase depends on how many points you own and what your home resort is. This doesn’t come at a complete surprise. Disney has been making small increases across all parks and resorts. With progress comes more overhead to cover. Back in February, we announced another change to DVC.

Disney announced an important change for Disney Vacation Club members. Previously, in order to access “Membership Extras,” a DVC member would need to maintain 25 points. As of February 25, 2018, all new  DVC Members will be required to purchase and maintain 75 points to take advantage of the Membership Extras. These points must also be directly purchased from Disney and not the resale market.

It’s important to note that Disney says that the 75 points must be maintained. This is to avoid DVC Members purchasing the 75 points and then later selling on the resale market while still taking advantage of the Membership Extras. DVC Members previously with more than 25 points but less than the new 75 point threshold will not need the 75 points to access the Membership Extras.

Membership Extras for DVC Members include everything from dining and merchandise discounts to a large discount on Annual Passes. Losing these Membership Extras could be a big hit to the member’s wallet. To see a list of DVC Membership Extras, please CLICK HERE.

The Walt Disney Company Pays $23 Million for the BK Ranch in Celebration

Disney buys the BK Ranch in Clebration

Disney buys the BK Ranch in Clebration

Disney has just purchased 965 acres in Celebration called the BK Ranch for $23 million. The land is located in southeast Celebration and is zoned for development off the old Tampa highway. Originally, the plans for the ranch called for 3,000 homes and 378,000 square feet of commercial and office space that would have rivaled the Disney developed Celebration communities.

Jerry McGratty, broker/owner of Westhampton Realty told GrowthSpotter it’s likely the project will stay on a shelf because Disney was primarily interested in acquiring the land for “water management needs” and conservation. “I do not believe they will ever develop it,” he said.

With 965 acres of space, one would hope there would be potential development for the property.  However, it is quite possible it will be nothing more than more land to use as a way to manage the current water/conservation for the existing properties. Keep checking back as we bring you additional details as we find them.

These are the resorts effected come early January:
