Picture Perfect Views of Together Forever - A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular

Disneyland recently introduced us to Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular which features many of the greatest Pixar films. This incredible evening show includes pyrotechnics, lasers, projections, and, of course, music from the Pixar movies.

While prime seating for Together Forever are located along Main Street, U.S.A., around the Rivers of America and “It’s a Small World”, there are still many sites throughout the park where you can find a more unique, yet just as beautiful, vantage point.

Joshua Sudock, Disneyland’s Resort Chief Photographer, has captured a few photos showing off a unique viewing area. Beyond the lagoon, over in Tomorrowland, Sudock was able to snap a series of long-exposure photos (15-seconds each). His camera settings were f/16 at ISO 100 and white balance set to automatic.

After looking at these photos, it’s hard to imagine there could be a bad seat “in the house”. The nighttime projections have certainly solidified where the best seats in the house are to view the fireworks, but sometimes it’s nice to take a seat somewhere a little less traveled. You can catch a unique view and even veer a little away from the crowd.

The DVC Member Cruise is not a regular cruise, this “members only” sailing is the ultimate in Membership Magic. Voyagers are able to enjoy a whole line-up of exclusive opportunities and experiences.

Members were “marooned” with storytellers and stars this past week at Castaway Cay (Disney’s private island). These Disney Movies Will Be In Theaters Before You Know It!

There are so many exciting Disney Movies in the works, it’s hard to keep up with them all! If you’re like me and anxiously awaiting to purchase your tickets to the next Disney blockbuster, here’s a guide to what’s on the horizon for Disney Movie-lovers everywhere:

“The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” – Arriving just in time for the 2018 holiday season on November 2, 2018, “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” follows a young girl as she is transported into a magical world of sugarplum ferries and gingerbread soldiers.
“Mary Poppins Returns” – The remake of this Disney classic was expected to debut in theaters on December 25, 2018. However, as an early Christmas Present, the official release date has been moved up to December 19, 2018!
“Dumbo” – The live-action version of this Disney classic will feature Colin Farrell, Danny DeVito, Michael Keaton, and Eva Green in starring rolls. Tim Burton will direct the film that is slated to land in theaters on March 29, 2019.
“Aladdin” – Aladdin will roll in theaters in 2019 on May 24. The live-action remake features Will Smith as The Genie and Guy Ritchie as the director.
“Toy Story 4” – The movie is scheduled to arrive in theaters on June 21, 2019. However, due to some behind-the-scene snags, it might be a little later. One thing is for sure, this might be the most-anticipated animated sequel of 2019!
“The Lion King” – This live-action remake will feature Beyonce as Nala and Donald Glover as Simba among others. James Earl Jones will also be back to reprise his roll as the voice of Mufasa. “The Lion King” is scheduled to hit theaters on July 19, 2019.
“Frozen 2” – What might be the most anticipated movie in the Disney movie pipeline, “Frozen 2” will be in theaters November 27, 2019.
“Kim Possible” – Production has recently begun on this live-action remake of the popular Disney Channel animated show. It is expected to debut in theaters sometime in 2019.
“Mulan” – The live-action remake of “Mulan” will arrive in theaters on March 27, 2020 and feature lead actress, Liu Yifei.
“Maleficent 2” – Disney Villian fans everywhere squealed in delight when a sequel to “Maleficent 2” was announced. Angelina Jolie will be back as one of the stars of the movie. It was just announced “Maleficent 2” will be released on May 29, 2020.
“Prince Charming” – Few details are known on this Disney movie but online reports state it will be directed by “Wonder’ director Stephen Chbosky. We are not even sure if the featured Prince will be Snow White’s Prince Charming or Cinderellas. Who knows, it might be a whole new character all together! A release date has not been announced yet.
“The Sword and the Stone” – With no release date announced for this remake, online reports indicate that director and writer have been tapped to begin work on the classic.
“Cruella” – Be prepared for a live-action remake of “101 Dalmatians” focusing on villain, Cruella DeVil! Emma Stone is rumored to be the star of this movie which has no release date as of now.
“Oliver Twist” – While no release date has been announced for this Charles Dickens classic, Thomas Kail from “Hamilton” will be the director.
“Tink” – With the focus of the original “Peter Pan” story being on Tinkerbell this time around, there are sure to be lots of magical surprises in this movie! No release date has been announced.
“Pinocchio” – No premiere date is known at currently for this live-action remake but it is confirmed that Paul King from “Paddington” will be the director.

Attention future animators (and anyone who likes to think they are one), sharpen your pencils, have a few erasers on hand, and get ready to draw Edna Mode. Yes, that’s right, I’m talking about the Edna Mode, one of the most beloved Incredibles characters, dah-ling.

At Animation Academy, right inside Disney California Adventure Park, guests can experience a hands-on opportunity where step by step instructions are provided to create your very own character sketch. The Animation Academy welcomes guests of all ages and you even get to take home your “masterpiece” as a souvenir. Drawing classes are inside the Disney Animation Building and run every 30 minutes.

Now it’s time for the fun… let’s see how well you can draw Edna Mode. Sketching out this sassy, fashion icon isn’t as easy at it seems (at least that’s what I keep telling myself).

Walt Disney Company Signs Deal with Ukrainian Toymaker UGears

According to a recent piece in Globe Newswire, Disney has signed a contract with UGears which creates wooden, mechanical self-propelled toys. They are natural mad in Europe and feature the finest high-quality wooden materials. Their items can be assembled without glue or any tools and move without the use of batteries.

Starting this November, UGears mechanical wooden self-propelled toys will be available in 700 Disney Stores and theme parks spanning the globe. The agreement comes at the end of an 8-month audit that needed to be passed for Disney to agree to the partnership.

Disney Files a Patent to Bring More Shade to Theme Park Guests

If you’ve ever spent time at Disney World during a Summer afternoon than you know it gets pretty darn hot. Add to this the fact that shade in certain areas of the park can be pretty hard to come by and it can make for a slightly uncomfortable theme park experience.

However, that may be about to change. Various sites have shared details regarding a recent patent filed by The Walt Disney Company to work on technology that could offer a reprieve from the sun’s glaring rays at the push of a button.

Filed under the title “Deployable Shading Structure” the patent covers the use of canopies that can be used to provide additional shade or retracted when not needed.

According to the patent “The inventors determined…that it would be desirable for a new weather protection device to provide shade when shading is needed or desired, for the device to be hidden or blend in with surrounding architectural features when no shading (or weather protection is needed or desired.” But don’t worry about it obstruction your gorgeous Disney views as the patent went on to suggest that these new weather protection devices would be designed to “enhance a show and/or to have a theme-based appearance or characteristics.”

Here’s a closer look at the devices being proposed:

Though little has been said about where these new devices may be erected, we here at Chip and Co. have a heard a few complaints about the lack of shade to Disney’s new Toy Story Land which would definitely be one location that might benefit from this new technology. It should be remembered though that just because a patent is filed doesn’t mean that it will see the light of day.

Who is excited for the upcoming movie “Christopher Robin?” Check out a new Christopher Robin featurette with Ewan McGregor interviewing Winnie the Pooh and other animals from the Hundred Acre Wood.

In Disney’s heartwarming live action adventure, the young boy who shared countless adventures with his stuffed animal friends in the Hundred Acre Wood is now grown up, living in midcentury London and dealing with the stresses of adulthood. Now it is up to his childhood friends to venture into our world and help Christopher Robin rediscover the joys of family life, the value of friendship and to appreciate the simple pleasure in life once again.

“Christopher Robin” is directed by Marc Forster from a screenplay by Alex Ross Perry and Tom McCarthy and Allison Schroeder and a story by Greg Brooker and Mark Steven Johnson based on characters created by A.A. Milne and E.H. Shepard. The producers are Brigham Taylor, p.g.a., and Kristin Burr, p.g.a., with Renée Wolfe and Jeremy Johns serving as executive producers. The film stars Ewan McGregor as Christopher Robin; Hayley Atwell as his wife Evelyn; Bronte Carmichael as his daughter Madeline; and Mark Gatiss as Keith Winslow, Robin’s boss. There are five Memory Refreshers to choose from. Each one is concocted with it’s own special blend of slushies and candy topper. Here’s a little more about each one:
