Updated Smoking Sections Around Magic Kingdom

Smoking Sections

The smoking location that was on the walkway from Storybook Circus to Tomorrowland has now been closed. The nearest smoking location will be near the bathrooms in Tomorrowland. Both Frontierland and the Main Entrance smoking locations remain the same.

Updated Smoking Sections Around Magic Kingdom

Designated smoking areas at Walt Disney World have been around for some time now. Walt Disney World Resorts, Restaurants, and Parks are all considered non-smoking except in these designated areas.

Designated smoking locations are listed on the guide maps of the four main Parks. Last year, large maps were installed in Epcot letting guests know exactly where the designated areas are located. We are not sure if they are temporary for the Food and Wine Festival or if these will be a permanent fixture and added to the other Parks.

Have you seen any of these maps?

Tightrope Walker Minnie Ears From The Haunted Mansion Now Online

Tightrope Walker Minnie Ears

This Summer new Haunted Mansion inspired Mouse Ears materialized at the Disney Parks. The gorgeous Tightrope Walker Minnie Ears were an instant hit, and sold out fast! I’m happy to report that these beauties have no appeared online at shopDisney though.

Balance your fashion sense with your love of the Haunted Mansion with this ears headband inspired by the Tightrope Walker portrait in the stretching room. The floral design on the ears echoes the design as the dress of the precariously perched girl.

These ears are absolutely gorgeous, and capture the essence of one of my favorite characters from the infamous Disney Parks Attraction. The soft pink organza bow, and berry colored velvet band add a touch of chic just like the Tightrope Walker herself. They are available online for $24.99, with a limit of 10 per customer.

Will you be grabbing a pair of the Tightrope Walker Minnie Ears before they disappear into the great beyond?

Have You Seen This Behind The Scenes Jungle Cruise Movie Photo?!?

behind the scenes Jungle Cruise movie photo

Have you seen the behind the scenes Jungle Cruise movie photo that Dwayne Johnson shared? In it we also get our first look at Jack Whitehall’s character in the upcoming film.

Johnson took to his Instagram account and shared a photos that fans are loving. He is smiling, while holding an Anaconda along side Whitehall – who looks a little more cautious while holding the tail of the snake.

Besides Johnson and Whitehall the film also stars Emily Blunt, Paul Giamatti, Jesse Plemons and Edgar Ramirez.

In this film, based of the classic Disney attraction, Johnson’s character travels with his sister (played by Blunt) and Whitehall’s character to find a tree with healing powers. It looks like wild animals and another expedition will try and impede their mission.  Ramirez and Plemons are said to be bringing the villains of the film to life.

Seven Buck Productions, which includes Johnson and his partners Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia are producing the film along with Beau Flynn of Flynn Picture Co and John Davis and John Fox of Davis Entertainment. The script was originally penned by  J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay with Michael Green coming in for a recent rewrite.

The Jungle Cruise movie is set to be released October 11, 2019 with filming currently underway. It is said that Disney is looking to turn this into a franchise similar to what they did with Pirates of the Caribbean – which is also based on a classic attraction found at multiple Disney theme parks.

I’m super excited for this movie!  This is one of my favorite rides at Disney (in fact, this was my youngest kiddos first ride ever at a Disney theme park!). So I’ll be counting down the days until it hits theaters!

Star Wars: Episode IX Casting Continues

Star Wars: Episode IX casting

While production has already begun, it looks like there is still some Star Wars: Episode IX casting to be done. This J.J. Abrams directed film still has a mysterious plot, not unlike the other Star Wars franchise films at this stage of production, but we have gotten the scoop on a lot of casting news recently.

The most recently announced new addition is Matt Smith, the former Doctor Who star. He joins newcomers  Keri Russell, Richard E. Grant, Dominic Monaghan, and Naomi Ackie.

THS has reported that casting is underway for a role with the codename “Karina.” They are looking for an actress between the ages of 27 and 35 who is described as “younger Charlize Theron with street smarts.” They are also looking for someone with “a good sense of humor,” so chances are this character will add some comic relief to the film.

As far as this ninth installment of the franchise is concerned it looks like Abrams will have a lot on his plate when it comes to balancing characters and their story arcs. With five new characters added to those that fans have followed for the past two movies spanning several years we’re hoping everyone gets enough screen time to tell a compelling story.  If anyone can make that happen, it’s Abrams.  He’s no stranger to featuring large, ensemble casts.

No matter what, we cannot wait until this Star Wars: Episode IX hits theaters on December 20, 2019. We will keep you updated with casting news and production details as they unfold.  And until then – May the Force be with you!

Find Out the Names of the Four Club 33 Locations at Walt Disney World

Club 33

Club 33

Are you still waiting for your invitation to become a member of Club 33 at Walt Disney World? We are! While we wait for that invitation to come in the mail, I’m happy to pass along a little inside information.

Orlando Theme Park News has discovered the names of each of the four Club 33 locations located in the four Walt Disney World Parks.

The Club 33 in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is known as Spotlight Lounge. It is located above the Hollywood Brown Derby and as the name indicates, themed after a green room at an award’s ceremony.

The second location in Epcot is located in the area that used to house the Chase Visa Cardholders Lounge inside American Adventure. Known at the Constellation Lounge, the area is open for members while the decor continues to be updated.

While not yet open, the Club 33 in the Magic Kingdom will be known as Captain’s Quarters. The lounge will be themed after Skipper Canteen and will actually be using a dining room originally built for the restaurant when it opened back in 2015. That portion of the Club will actually be visible from the hub area near Cinderella Castle.

The fourth Club 33 location at Walt Disney World is also still under construction but will be located in Africa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The location was originally rumored to be located above Dinoland at the Park but it is being reported that the location has indeed be changed to inside the Africa section of the park. The Club 33 will be known as Harambee House.

The Epcot Food & Wine Tray Makes Festival Snacking a Breeze

Epcot Food & Wine Tray

While sipping and strolling around the World Showcase for the Epcot Food & Wine Festival, sometimes you need an extra hand. The handy Epcot Food & Wine Tray found at select locations throughout the park, is the perfect accessory to make sipping and tasting a breeze.

The Epcot Food & Wine Tray Makes Festival Snacking a Breeze

You can look for them where ever Food and Wine Merchandise is sold, and they are just $6.99. These handy trays are easy to hold, and have a place to set your cup, or wine glass, and a nice open space for your food. You can hold the tray with one hand, while digging in with your fork with the other. Or take a sip of your drink without having to juggle your food items. I know eating off the tops of Epcot trash bins has become a kind of tradition, but it doesn’t have to be a tradition we continue, right?

We use ours at home from last year all the time when we have parties, and get togethers. They are also handy for when we go to food truck round ups too! At $6.99 they make a useful and fun souvenir, that gets a new design every year.

Have you tried out a Epcot Food & Wine Tray while sipping and snacking around the World Showcase? Are you a fan of them?

Construction for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Walt Disney World

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge

We were over in Andy’s Backyard at Toy Story Land over the weekend and snapped a few pictures of the progress of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. As you can tell from the photos, there is still lots of work to be done but construction appears to be going along nicely.

Construction for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Walt Disney World Construction for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Walt Disney World Construction for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Walt Disney World

No exact opening date has been announced or Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios other than it will be opening late Fall 2019.” However, just last week we received some new details on the cantina that will be inside the new Land. Oga’s Cantina is billed as the local watering hole where guests will go to unwind, conduct shady business deals, and maybe encounter and friend and a foe. Be on the lookout when you go into the Cantina as you never know when a Stormtrooper or a familiar face might make an appearance!

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is scheduled to open at Disneyland in Summer 2019.

Will John Williams Play a Role in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

John Williams Star Wars Galaxy's Edge

Will composer John Williams have a part in Star War: Galaxy’s Edge opening at both Disneyland Resort and the Walt Disney World Resort in 2019? That’s the rumor!

Williams has had the title of composer for every episodic installment of the Star Wars franchise – yes, all of them.  And now it is rumored that, along with Michael Giacchino, he will write and score music for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at both US theme parks.

The two are expected to join together to create the music that will enhance this new land’s rides and attractions as well as the music guests here while walking around the galaxy far far away.

This won’t be their first collaboration, however.  The two also joined forces on Star Tours — The Adventures Continue, a 3D attraction found at Disney parks worldwide. The iconic music that Williams created is used on the ride while Giacchino is credited with the queue music and that heard during the pre-show.

Music scored by Williams can also be heard on the Indiana Jones Adventure ride. While Giacchino can include the music for Disneyland Paris’ Ratatouille ride and the Incredibles 2-inspired Incredicoaster at Disney California Adventure Park to his resume.

New Image of Lin-Manuel Miranda from ‘Mary Poppins Returns’ Released

Mary Poppins Returns

It’s been an exciting day if you are a fan of Disney Movies! Earlier, the final trailer for “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” was released. Now we are happy to share a photo of Lin-Manuel Miranda starring in the upcoming “Mary Poppins Returns” as Lamplighter Jack.

The photo, an exclusive to Empire Online, shows Manuel reprising the role of the chimney sweep played by Dick Van Dyke in the original movie. Check out the photo below:

Mary Poppins Returns

Also starring in “Mary Poppins Returns” is Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins and music composed by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman. Shaiman and Wittman are known for their work for the Broadway smash hit, “Hairspray.”

Director of the movie, Rob Marshall, told Empire Online, “This is a very fragile world where there’s easily a loss of hope and wonder. A lot of people find those words simplistic, but I think that’s what keeps you going. To tell a story of [the] discovery of joy and magic was a reason I signed on. It’s a time for musicals.”

“Mary Poppins Returns” lands in theaters on December 19, 2018.
