Beautiful It’s a Small World Minnie Ears Coming Soon

Coming soon Disney fans will be able to share a world of laughter with new It’s a Small World Minnie Ears! These shimmery new ears are based on the iconic ride “It’s a Small World”, and beautifully capture the nostalgia and whimsy of the beloved attraction.

These ears have a beautiful white fabric with delightful designs inspired by the iconic ride we all know and love. Not only do clear sequins coat the ears for a subtle shimmer, but the band is also covered in lots of pink sequins too!

The familiar face of “Glockenspiel” smiles on one ear, while a stylized flower says “Hello” on the front and “Good Bye” on the back. The whimsical ears are topped off with a colorful plush bow that features screen art inspired by designs seen throughout the ride.

This pair of ears perfectly matches the It’s a Small World Spirit Jersey we saw debut at the end of last year too! The same fun designs seen around the bottom of the jersey, coordinate beautifully with the colorful bow on the ears.

There is no official word on the release date of these fun new ears, but they are slated for the Spring fashion season in Disney!

Disney Springs Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill Lunch Review

Disney Springs Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill hosted us during the Spring Merchandise Preview. A multitude of appetizers, entrees and desserts were on offer. Following is our Wolfgang Puck Lunch Review.

Our first course consisted of pizza. We sampled the Wild Mushroom, Pepperoni and Margherita pizzas. They were all excellent with the personal favorite being Wild Mushroom.

The second course presented was an appetizer and salads. The Chopped Vegetable Salad, Bruschetta and Baby Gem Lettuce Caesar were outstanding. Each had a unique flavor and we cannot pick a personal favorite as they were all delicious in their own right. Disney Springs Wolfgang Puck has outdone themselves on the appetizer and salad tiers.

As our third course, we were introduced to three entrees. The Pappardelle had a lovely Bolognese Sauce with Pecorino Cheese. Grilled Sea Bass was a favorite due to its perfect combination of flavors. We also really enjoyed the Burrata Cheese Ravioli.

The final course of our meal was dessert. We loved the Carrot Cake with its whipped cream cheese frosting and candied walnut. The Cookie Plate offered a variety of flavors to tempt our palates as well.

To conclude, we enjoyed the food options at Disney Springs Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill. Whether you are looking for a great restaurant for lunch, dinner, or dessert this location offers something for the entire family.

A New DVC Kiosk Spotted at Hollywood Studios On Grand Avenue.

Hollywood Studios has been undergoing major renovations lately, and they just keep coming! Hollywood Studios recently revealed a new DVC kiosk near the new Star Wars land. There was much speculation on what the building could possibly be, but alas we find out it is this new DVC Kiosk.

Opening on Friday, January 25^th, this Disney Vacation Club site is a smart move for Disney as it is a prime location of major foot traffic located on Grand Avenue. It has also been revealed the queue for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will only be using one entrance to the land for some time. The other location, which will eventually be used as an entrance, will serve as the exit. So, as you can see, putting this new DVC Kiosk will be a great spot for guests to learn about what the Disney Vacation Club has to offer. Hopefully they can provide us more information on the new DVC location, the Riviera Resort.

If you look closely at this cute little Kiosk you can sort-of see the new Star Wars Land behind it. While I am sure this kiosk has more renovations to come to help it blend in a little, it is still a great spot to stop. They already have the books outside outlining each resort offered, along with a Cast Member stationed inside to answer all questions.

Sweet Spring Merchandise Preview Review

A Sweet Spring Merchandise Preview at Disney Springs was just the treat we needed this week. As a result, we discovered new products that bring fun and whimsy to these Disney 2019 product lines. Following next is our review of the event.

Disney Artists Collection:

First, we were offered a sneak peek at the Disney Artists Collection t-shirts. Featuring Mickey Mouse around the four Walt Disney World Parks, the Artists created masterpieces in the form of park attire. Exclusively at World of Disney, these shirts are sure to be a hit with fans of Disney Art. Darren Wilson, Disney Artist of the Animal Kingdom shirt, graciously autographed the one we received for this event.

D-Lish Merchandise:

Second were the new items in the Disney D-Lish line. Enjoy a day at the beach with the new Dole Whip towel and sipper. Relax with the scented Minnie Ears Donut Plush while watching your favorite Disney movie.

Minnie Style:

Next up we learned how Minnie’s design style has changed through the decades. To prepare us for this event, the Disney Springs Team graciously presented us with a gift card to share our Minnie Style. We wish to thank the Team for these opportunities to Rock The Dots and to attend the Sweet Spring Merchandise Preview.

Unboxings:

In addition to all of the incredible preview demonstrations, we were treated to a number of “Unboxings”. If you love Kate Spade, then you will adore the new Minnie Ear Hats and Dots in two color palettes. Disney Color Trends, such as Potion Purple, have been all the rage lately. We were thrilled to see that the next color debut will be yellow. The Spring Dooney & Bourke releases include a Mickey Through the Years bag and a live-action Dumbo series as well. Also debuting soon are a number of trendy dresses that will make it impossible for us to choose just one!

Dresses & Accessories:

Speaking of dresses, how about an adorable Mommy & Me D-Lish set with whimsical accessories? The dresses feature a bright blue background with a Disney Snacks print. Match these dresses up with some adorable jewelry, a rain jacket, umbrella and a pair of Donut Ears for added fun.

Spring Ears:

Also, the new Minnie & Mickey Ears debuting this Spring are lovely. Those Cinderella Castle Ears, as well as the Mint Raspberry Ears, are calling to us!

Potion Purple:

Lastly, Potion Purple continues with new items in the collection. Each item is absolutely incredible. However, the first-ever Spirit Jersey for your dog brings this Color Trend to another level!

Disney and Big Fish Games To Release Toy Story Drop! Mobile Game This Spring

Big Fish Games, the publisher of Gummy Drop!, has announced a collaboration with Disney for a new mobile game. They have developed Toy Story Drop!, an all-new free-to-play match-3 puzzle adventure game on mobile that is Toy Story-themed and set to debut in celebration of Toy Story 4 This Spring.

In Toy Story Drop!, players help Woody, Buzz, and other beloved characters overcome larger-than-life obstacles by matching, dropping, and clearing hundreds of exciting puzzles. Players will have the opportunity to journey across iconic Disney•Pixar Toy Story locations such as Andy’s Room and Pizza Planet this spring! This is a fun way to Disney fans to experience the next generation of match-3 puzzle games from Big Fish Games’ award-winning “Drop!” franchise.

“We are honored to be working on such an incredible property,” said Big Fish Games’ Managing Director and President, Jeff Karp. “Our talented studios and developers have been perfecting games in the match-3 space for over a decade. Toy Story Drop! has also released a geo-locked beta on Google Play and the App Store. The expected worldwide release will come later this spring as part of the lead-up to the theatrical release of Toy Story 4 in June. Toy Story Drop! is expected to release on all major platforms, including Android, iOS, Amazon, and the Microsoft Store on Windows 10 at that time.

This past weekend I had the opportunity to celebrate National Polka Dot Day and Honor Minnie Mouse at a Rock the Dots event with special guest fitness entrepreneur Tracy Anderson at the Westfield Century City Atrium.

The special event gave the opportunity to celebrate the Polka Dotted Fashion Icon with a fun Minnie-inspired fitness class. Guests also got a first look at the new Disney collection by Terez as well as samples of the two new flavors from the Pressed Juicery x Disney collaboration.

Guests were welcomed to Tracy Anderson’s Minnie-inspired fitness class with Minnie Style Minnie ears, yoga mats, towels, and Pressed Juicery refreshments, which was needed once Tracy’s class got started. Tracy Anderson is known World Wide for her unique style of fitness known as the Tracy Anderson Method. One of the main concepts behind the Tracy Anderson Method is the constant engagement of the body’s accessory muscles. Let me tell you, Tracy had me sweating within minutes of the class beginning.

After the fitness class guests were welcome to try the two new flavors from the collaboration of Pressed Juicery and Disney. The new flavors of Pineapple Greens and Dragon Fruit Punch are light with a bit of sweet, very refreshing, and said to be inspired by Minnie herself. Pressed Juicery’s adorable Minnie glass beverage bottle was also on display.

To relax and cool off after the intense fitness class guests could spend some downtime on Minnie’s swing by themselves or with friends. The farewell gift was truly Minnie inspired and was an awesome surprise at the end of an afternoon Rocking the Dots. Overall, I had a blast celebrating National Polka Dot day and Minnie Mouse at this special Rock the Dots event.

Leaders Basketball Cup Matches Held at Disneyland Paris!

The LNB Pro A Leaders Cup or French Basketball League Cup is the annual national league cup competition for teams from the top-tier level of French professional basketball! Originally founded in 1988, the league in its current form was created in 2003. It is organised by the Ligue Nationale de Basketball (LNB) who also organise the top two leagues of French professional basketball (Pro A and Pro B).

Since 2013, the Leaders Basketball Cup has been co-organised by the LNB and Disneyland Paris and is held in the Disney Events Arena, located in the Disney Village close to Disney Parks! You can purchase your tickets here!

The Quarterfinals are on Friday 15th February 2019 and the times are as follows:

Registration is now open for Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings Showcase at Walt Disney World and Disneyland.

The events will allow couples and others helping with planning to meet with Disney Weddings staff to learn about the many options for hosting a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding. The showcase attendees will learn about the many options and enhancements for a dream wedding.

The Walt Disney World event is March 2, 2019, from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort Convention Center. Experts from Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resort, Disney Cruise Line, Aulani, A Resort & Spa, and Disney’s Vero Beach Resort will be available to discuss available choices. There are two showcase options. Option 1 includes a self-guided walking tour and is $45 per person. Option 2 includes the self-guided walking tour and a Dessert Party Enhancement for $115 per person. The dessert party includes a selection of dessert treats and a viewing of Illuminations: Reflections of Earth at Epcot. All attendees of Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings Showcase must be 18 and older.

The Disneyland event is Sunday, February 24, 2019, from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the Disneyland Hotel. This showcase is specifically tailored to those interested in having a wedding at Disneyland Resort. Attendees must be 18 and older. The cost to attend is $35 per person.

Mickey Mouse: From Walt to the World Exhibit

A new celebration of the most well known animation character in history will be displayed at The Walt Disney Family Museum May 16, 2019- January 6, 2020. It is called Mickey Mouse: From Walt to the World. The exhibition will tell the chronicles of Mickey’s influence over the last 9 decades. It will also tell the story of his origin and rise to fame, while showcasing the parallel of Walt Disney’s inspiring story.

Andreas Deja, legendary animator, along with Michael Labrie will display over 400 objects, including incredibly rare and never-before-seen original sketches, concept artwork, character model sheets, vintage photographs, nostalgic merchandise, and a plethora of Mickey’s animated short films. The exhibition is a testimony to Mickey’s influence at Disney parks worldwide.

While visitors will come to see the exhibition, they also have the opportunity to see many interpretations of our beloved mouse. Mickey shined for the pop artists of the 1950s and 60s. He personified culture during that time. His image was not only reproduced on merchandise, but he simply was the spirit of American entertainment. Prominent artists will be included in the exhibition. This includes Andy Warhol, Wayne Thiebaud, Gottfriend Helnwein, Tennessee Loveless, Eric Robinson, Lorelay Bove, and Sirron Norris. Each demonstrates how Mickey Mouse resonates with new audiences and generations.

The exhibition will be displayed in the Diane Disney Miller Exhibition Hall in conjunction with the museum’s 10th Anniversary. It will run from May 16, 2019 to January 6, 2020.

The museum is also pleased to offer in May two talks that celebrate Mickey Mouse. Guest Curator Andreas Deja will showcase the process of creating such a comprehensive exhibition during an exclusive members only event. The second talk will features on of the voices of Mickey, Bret Iwan.

The Members only event for Mickey Mouse: From Walt to the World is Wednesday, May 15, 2019 from 1-2pm and 4-5pm with Guest Curator Andreas Deja.

The Voicing an Icon: Mickey Talks with Bret Iwan is Saturday, May 18, 2019 from 11am-12:30pm and 3-4:30pm.

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (better known as STEM) and computer science concepts play a huge part in film making. Without these concepts, our favorite Pixar films, such as Toy Story and Inside Out, would never have been created for all of us to enjoy. Have you ever wondered how these concepts are used to create these works of art? You will want to check out The Science Behind Pixar show. The Science Behind Pixar was created by the Museum of Science, Boston, in collaboration with Pixar Animation Studios.

The Science Behind Pixar exhibition will be located at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry in Portland, Oregon from February 23, 2019 to September 2, 2019. This 13,000 square foot exhibit includes different exhibits which are both screen-based activities as well as physical interactive exhibits. The exhibits explore the process in which a Pixar movie is created. The exhibits include:

Story and Art
Modeling
Rigging
Surfaces
Sets and Cameras
Animation
Simulation
Lighting
Rendering

The exhibit also includes videos of Pixar employees giving their first-hand accounts of how the field of computer animation has been revolutionized by technological innovations. Throughout the exhibition, visitors are invited to experience different jobs at the Pixar studio, including lighting, designer, animator, modeler and more!

This exhibit is perfect for all ages, making it the perfect introduction into STEM concepts for the young and old alike! The Science of Pixar opens February 23, 2019 at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry.

El Capitan Theatre to Host Music of Disney Wurlitzer Concert

The El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles has announced a special performance for fans of Disney music. “To Disney With Love” will be a unique performance by Rob Richards, the El Capitan house organist. This new D23 produced show will be a one night only engagement using the theaters renowned Mighty Wurlitzer Organ. The concert is a celebration of Disney music and Richards 20th anniversary as organist for the theater.

Richards has an extensive career spanning over 40 years. He was named “Organist of the Year” for 2005 and has toured the world. Throughout the show, Richards will chart his story from childhood to accomplished organist using music from Disney’s rich history. As an added treat, the evening will also feature the return of the Walt Disney Animation Studios’ classic “Get A Horse” to the big screen. This early Disney animated short will be accompanied by Richards on the Wurlitzer.

The El Capitan Theatre is one of Los Angeles’ oldest working venues. It underwent a massive renovation funded by the Walt Disney Company and Pacific Theaters in 1989. The two-year reconstruction recreated the original look and feel of the theater in the 1920s. Reopening its doors in 1991, the theater hosted the premiere of Walt Disney Pictures’ The Rocketeer. Since then it’s hosted the premieres of many Disney films.

“To Disney With Love” will take place on Monday, February 4 at 7:00 pm. Tickets can be purchased at the El Capitan Theatre website, box office, or by calling 1-800-DISNEY6. Special discounts are available for D23 members by calling 818-845-3110.
