There are new Pixar themed resort mugs at Disney’s Beach Club resort featuring our favorite friends! There is a tribute to Cars, Toy Story, Fining Nemo, and the Little Dinosaur.
The cast member that sold us this mug told us that right now only the hot pink style is in stock. They had the new Mickey Celebration mugs but they have already sold out.
Mark Hamill has become a pop culture icon for his portrayal of Luke Skywalker in the classic Star Wars trilogy. Hamill has also gone on to become an accomplished voice and character actor spanning both television and film projects. The actor has now taken on a new, and some might say slightly-familiar role for the United Kingdom History Channel’s series on the Knights Templar, ‘Knightfall’.
Hamill appears in this season of ‘Knightfall’ as Templar Master, Talus. The new character is a weathered and worn knight tasked with training the Knights Templar in their brutal duties. The announcement of Hamill’s new role brought on some comparison to the iconic Jedi Knight, by Star Wars fans, but the performer isn’t so sure. Speaking recently in an interview with Den of Geek, he remarked, “That didn’t even occur to me until I said yes! Then everyone on the internet was saying, oh, he’s doing a knight again. Obviously, George Lucas had so many influences, and certainly, knights were something he modeled his characters after. When I first read the script for Star Wars, I thought, oh my gosh, this is like a Western, a WWII movie, it’s swashbuckling, it’s like pirate movies. It’s all these genres mixed up so that everything old is new again. He was definitely influenced by that sense of purpose and valor and doing the right thing for a great cause, there’s no question about it. Other than that, I don’t see a lot of similarities between Luke and Talus.”
‘Knightfall’ enters its second season this summer on the History Channel in the United Kingdom. It follows a fictional retelling of the Knights Templar, a group of warrior monks in France during the 14th century. Although Hamill wasn’t familiar with the show when approached for the role, he quickly became a fan saying, “They sent over a couple of screeners. I’d never heard of this show, but don’t go by me. My kids always say, ‘You’ve never heard of that?!’. For me, at my age, a day spent in your pajamas is a win, puttering around the garden with your dogs and telling kids to get off your lawn. I started watching this thing, and I was riveted. It just transports you into another time and another place. I’d seen Camelot and the sort of movies you see on Turner Classic Movies. This was just so gritty and harrowing, really, to think of a time when the mortality rate was so high. Old age was considered 40. After about 20 minutes, I thought, ‘Oh no – I have to do this.’ I don’t get offered things like this, historical dramas with a British cast!”

Looks like Disney Cruise Line will have a new port-of-call in the Bahamas in the future. The Government of the Bahamas has announced that Disney has completed the purchase of the Lighthouse Point property from the Meritage Hospitality Group.
The agreement was signed in a March 7th meeting of government officials and Disney Island Development. DCL’s President Jeff Vahle and the Prime Minister of the Bahamas, Hubert Minnis were both on hand for the occasion.
With the Lighthouse Point purchase complete, Disney acquires 190 acres of property, including the southernmost point of the island nation. It’s expected that the property will be developed into a cruise stop similar to Castaway Cay.
With the addition of several new cruise ships for DCL in the coming years, Lighthouse Point could prove to be a great new stop for itineraries in the Bahamas and Caribbean sailings. Disney announced that they intend to increase their Bahamian itineraries by 30-40% with the additions to the fleet.
Construction will not begin until the Environmental Impact Assessment and Management plan are reviewed and approved. The new property is expected to employ a minimum of 120 Bahamians for the construction project. Once complete, it’s expected to create 150 permanent jobs.

It officially is a new month which means a new burger of the month at The Edison!
The March Burger of the Month stays true to the theme of March and that theme is St. Patrick’s Day. The name of the March Burger of the Month is definitely fitting! The Luck of the Irish Burger begins with The Edison’s signature beef blend of sirloin, short rib, and brisket. It is then topped with corned beef, coleslaw, crispy potatoes, and a whole grain mustard sauce. Paired with some fries, it is the perfect St. Patrick’s Day-inspired meal, don’t you agree?
March has also brought a St. Patrick’s Day-themed hot dog to Casey’s Corner in Magic Kingom park. Unlike the multiple new food offerings found around Magic Kingdom in March, these burgers (and hot dogs) of the month won’t be around very long. Make sure you visit The Edison soon to get a taste of the Irish with the Luck of the Irish Burger!

Walt Disney World is always rolling out new and exciting adult beverages to add some extra fun to your visit. We’ve got a look at a new frozen cocktail that recently made its debut in the Animal Kingdom and it’s a colorful combination of sweet flavors that packs a punch!
The Himalayan Explorer is a layered mix of strawberry and mango frozen margarita topped off with a shot of Blue Curacao. The result is a bright, multicolored beverage with a very sweet flavor profile. The Blue Curacao definitely takes center stage and we recommend mixing the shot in unless you really love its taste! If the combination doesn’t excite you, margaritas made from either the strawberry or mango flavor by itself are available as well.
The vibrant colors compliment the arrival of Kevin from ‘Up!’ to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. You can pair the drink with the new Kevin cupcake that recently appeared, to celebrate everyone’s favorite technicolor fowl.
The Himalayan Explorer is available at Warung Outpost in Animal Kingdom’s Asia section of the park. It sells for $11.50 and is not eligible for Disney Dining Plan Snack credits.

The 2019 EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival officially opened last week. This is one of my favorite times of the year to visit EPCOT. I love everything about the festival however the topiaries steal my heart! The food and drinks that are served during this festival are amazing as well and I highly recommend you try as many of them as possible during your visit.
It is super easy to pay for your snacks and drinks during this event with special-edition mini festival-themed Disney Gift Cards that can be worn around your wrist! These special-edition Disney Gift Cards can be activated with as little as $15. They can be scanned at Outdoor Kitchens, merchandise locations, or anywhere else the Disney Gift Card is accepted. There are two designs that are being offered this year: a radiant strawberry or the classic Florida orange.
For those of you that know your history, there was an orange-shaped Disney Gift Card design offered in 2016. Unlike that design, the 2019 design is not scented.
This year, each festival-themed gift card includes a removable tag with implanted wildflower seeds. Once you take the tag home, you would plant it in either a pot or garden and keep it watered. To align with Disney’s green initiatives, these tags are made of 100% recycled paper. The tag can either be kept on or removed while you are exploring the festival. To you remove it you simply pull it swiftly off the keyring or slide if off after opening up the keyring. I highly recommend removing the tag since an afternoon shower could compromise the integrity of the tag. It is much safer to remove it and keep it in your bag or pocket to ensure that this souvenir makes it home with you!
Disney Gift Cards are reloadable and they never expire. Disney Gift Cards can also be used for almost all things Disney – from theme park tickets to Mickey merchandise at Disney Destinations nationwide. They can be purchased at a merchandise or food and beverage location. A Cast Member will need to be asked for assistance. You can also purchase one of the hundreds of designs of traditional gift cards at DisneyGiftCard.com.
This tag and the flowers that will bloom are the perfect souvenirs from your visit to the 2019 EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival! Where are you going to plant your wildflowers? Let me know!

Captain Marvel opened this weekend to biggest box office opening of all time for a female lead film and the 2nd largest opening for a movie based off a comic book adaptation.
Brie Larson blasted through the global box office with $455 million in worldwide ticket sales, which includes $153 million in North America alone. Beauty and the Beast held the record of the biggest female lead film with $357 million.
The final box office numbers won’t be in until Monday, but Sunday’s figures have “Captain Marvel” as the 3rd highest March debut of all time in the U.S., and the 7th biggest Marvel Movie debut of all time.
“Marvel Studios once again proves that stories combining diverse perspectives and different experiences make great movies that play to everybody,” says Disney distribution chief Cathleen Taff. “People crave representation.”
Brie Larson was at the movies this weekend helping hand out popcorn and drinks at this local theater.

While many of us are wondering if we’ll ever see green grass again, others counting down towards a spring break vacation. They’re trading in their snow shovels for sand shovels and winter boots for flip flops. As the parks begin to fill up, so do our social media news feeds with pictures of friends and family with characters, on rides, and with some popular colorful walls. Walt Disney World has some cute and fun photo opportunities for you to try on your spring break visit.

There’s more to the parks than the rides and characters. Adding some magic to your Disney vacation allows you to bring home some long-lasting memories. All four parks have photographers all over, read to capture for smiles, laughs, and add a little magic along the way. This spring, check out all the photo opportunities around each park and during some character meals. Disney Springs also has great photo option if you have some extra time. Best of all, it’s completely free! Be sure to purchase your Memory Maker photo package to bring home all of your pictures and ride videos.
Some photographers are using different spring break-themed props enhance your pictures, such as cute signs or hand-held frames. Note that not all photographers have props.
Another fun extra that’s one of my personal favorites is magic shots. These are pictures where a photographer will tell you to hold your hand out and point to it with a surprised look on your face. The magic happens once the picture is taken and added to your memory maker account. It can take a little time for it to load into your account, but you just might find a Mickey ice-cream bar in your hand or maybe a fun-loving crab named Sebastian sitting in your hand.
1900 Park Fare
Some character meals have a backdrop along with a photographer waiting to take your picture either before or after you eat. 1900 Park Fare, Cinderella’s Royal Table, Chef Mickey’s, and Akershus, just to name a few.
Disney PhotoPass Studio
There’s still more spring break photo opportunities at Walt Disney World beyond the characters and rides. Head over to Disney Springs at Disney’s PhotoPass Studio for a photo shoot. It’s FREE, and you get to pick your backgrounds. From personal experience, it was worth making the trip to Disney Springs for the extra photos.
We all know saying goodbye to a magical trip at Walt Disney World is never easy or fun. Besides bringing home some lifelong memories and stories, you’ll have lots of fun and unique pictures to cherish. Hopefully, while you were in the parks, you took advantage of the fun spring break photo opportunities at Walt Disney World.
