Jungle Book Minnie Ears

Look for the bare necessities, or maybe just some cute Jungle Book Minnie Ears. Our favorite pals from the Jungle Book are showcased on these earthy Minnie Ears, and accented by rustic burlap bows.

You can get these cute Jungle Book ears trimmed in rope, or no rope, on a burlap headband, with a cute matching bow. My favorite part about these is you can choose the characters from the Jungle book you want, and which ear they go on! I know my choices would be Baloo and Bagheera!

New Nautilus Beverage Comes to the Polynesian Resort

nautilus

If you visited Disney World before September of 1994, you most likely remember the enormous 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea attraction. Inspired by the novel by author Jules Verne, the attraction allowed Guests to get an “under the sea” view aboard an underwater vessel called a Nautilus.

Though the attraction has been gone for many years, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is paying homage to the famed vessel with a signature beverage called the Nautilus. This delicious drink features Barbancourt Pango Rhum, Appleton Estate Reserve Rum, Combier Crème de Peche de Vigne Liqueur, tropical fruit juices and Falernum. It’s big enough to share, but if you don’t, we won’t judge.

Don’t miss out! Get yours today–with or without the signature Nautilus mug.

Centertown Market Breakfast – Review

Centertown Market Breakfast - Review

Centertown Market Breakfast - Review

The Centertown Market breakfast brings the flavors from the Caribbean right to your plate.  With my son having the day off of school, I thought what a special treat it would be to take him out for breakfast at the new Centertown Market at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort.

My son and I were welcomed with bright colors and island music. It was 9:30 am on a Friday, so the Centertown Market was hopping.

Menu

To be honest, I was surprised by the variety and originality of the dishes.   As soon as I saw the Create Your Own Breakfast Bowl, I was sold.  My son went back and forth, but could not pass up the chance to get Pirate Mickey Waffles.

Pickup

Once the order was placed, the cast member let us know that our pick up window would be Port au Prince as she handed us the table tracker.  The pickup window is noted on your receipt in case you forget.  Because it was busy, we waited about 25 minutes before our tracker buzzed.

Create Your Own Breakfast Bowl with Chorizo, Poached Eggs & Red Beans and Brown Rice – $9.49

Centertown Market Breakfast - Review

The bowl is huge! Red beans and brown rice are piled high with pico de gallo, two poached eggs and two chorizo patties.  The chorizo had a nice spicy kick. Talk about starting the day off on the right foot.  It was excellent.

Kid’s Pirate Waffles with Link Sausage – $6.49

I am so happy my son ordered the Pirate Mickey Waffles.  They are SO adorable! Now, I am secretly hoping they add these to Disney Cruise Line. No one does waffles like Disney!

Dole Celebrates Mickey’s 90th with “Powering the Hero Within”

Dole Celebrates Mickey's 90th with “Powering the Hero Within”

The year was 1928. Mickey Mouse made his Hollywood debut in Steamboat Willie, the seven-and-a-half-minute animated short film that would foreshadow the world’s most beloved brand of entertainment.

At 167 years old, Dole knows a thing or two about longevity as well. At the same time Mickey was being introduced to the world, 2,500 miles across the Pacific in Hawaii, James Drummond Dole was overseeing a 20,000-acre pineapple plantation that would grow into the world’s largest provider of fresh fruits and vegetables. In Honduras, a precursor to Dole’s Latin American operations, there were already hospitals and schools being opened for its thousands of employees growing bananas for a hungry world.

Nine decades later, Dole and Disney come together to celebrate Mickey’s 90th Anniversary with four months of activities highlighted by fresh takes on some iconic recipes and new dishes honoring a True Original and the two brands’ long collaborative friendship.

It’s the culmination of Dole’s yearlong “Powering the Hero Within” (#DoleHero) initiative, an ambitious healthy-eating alliance that marries Dole fruits, vegetables and nutrition with the most popular Disney films and characters.

Starting Now and continuing through January 2019, the program presents Mickey Mouse as the world’s Everyday Hero and True Original through 19 new Dole Mickey Mouse-inspired recipes and how-to recipe videos themed to different Mickey Mouse eras plus images of the True Original on tens of millions of DOLE® Bananas, Pineapples, packaged salads, and vegetables in U.S and Canadian supermarkets continentwide.

“Dole and Disney have a rich history of working together toward happier, healthier families, and encouraging kids of all ages to eat better and be more active,” said William Goldfield, Dole’s director of communications. “Since our relationship has always centered on the intersection of fun and food, we knew we wanted to celebrate Mickey’s 90th in a big way.”

Dole first teamed up with Disney in 1976 when the produce giant become the sponsor of Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room at the Disneyland Resort and at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World – a sponsorship that continues in California and resulted in the creation of the iconic Dole Whip now available at Disney Parks and Resorts worldwide.

In addition to Mickey-centric recipes and packaging, the latest chapter of “Powering the Hero Within” includes a heavy push in digital, social, influencer, blogger, experiential and PR programs designed to spread the message. Six original “Remix the Decades” recipe videos will offer new interpretations of classic American dishes while other animated content will feature Dole’s ten commemorative Mickey’s 90th banana stickers in U.S. and Canadian supermarkets.

Dole Celebrates Mickey's 90th with “Powering the Hero Within”

At the heart of the program are 19 original Dole entrée, salad, side dish, smoothie, and dessert recipes made with DOLE® fresh fruits and vegetable and themed to one of three Mickey Mouse eras – Classic, OId School, or Modern. The six Classic recipes, honoring Mickey Mouse in the 1920s and 1930s, include “Dole Mushroom Rockefeller,” a non-seafood alternative to Oysters Rockefeller; “Steamboat Willie Green Apple Waldorf,” a Mickey version of the classic New York salad; “Dole Pineapple Julep Smoothie,” a nutritious take on the New Orleans cocktail; “Creamy Caesar Sprouts Salad,” featuring fresh DOLE Brussels sprouts; the meatless “Dole Hearty Veggie Nutloaf,” and perhaps the most- iconic pineapple dessert ever, the “Dole Pineapple Downside-Up Cake.”

Dole Celebrates Mickey's 90th with “Powering the Hero Within”

“When you have 90 years of the most beloved Disney icon in the world for inspiration, there’s really no limit to what’s possible from a recipe standpoint,” said Goldfield. “The largest set of original recipes we’ve ever created for a single program – let alone a mouse! – Dole’s culinary tribute to Mickey Mouse takes its cue from his famous history, iconic starring roles, and eternally optimistic personality that continue to motivate millions toward a better life.”

The 13 remaining Mickey recipes will be unveiled in the coming weeks. All 19 original recipes, videos, and other content will be available on the Dole Pinterest page or at www.dole.com/disneymickeymouse.

Could a Pirates of the Caribbean Reboot Be Happening…Without Johnny Depp?

captn
Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow

Recently rumors have been swirling about a possible reboot of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Today we are seeing reports that if the reboot does come to fruition, it will likely be without Johnny Depp. Various reports are quoting that the original writer of the franchise Stuart Beatie as saying “I think he’s had a great run. Obviously, he’s made that character his own and it’s become the character he’s most famous for now.
And kids all over the world love him as that character so I think it’s been great for him, it’s been great for us, so I’m just very, very happy about it.’’
Time will tell whether it, not anything comes if these rumors, but for now, we are left wondering: what would a Pirates if the Caribbean movie look like without Captain Jack Sparrow?

Disney Halloween Party

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a magical event hosted at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World every fall and is the start of the holiday celebrations at the Disney Parks. It’s the only time of year guests over the age of 12 get a chance to dress up and visit the parks. This year there was a group who attended this years Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and chose to dress as Pirates for their group themed costumes. The group was inspired by the new interactive pirates who travel through the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction exclusively during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and interact with the guests. This is one of several updates Disney has added to bring more exclusive opportunities to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party guests. The group attended a Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at the beginning of the holiday season and took some fun photos and even filmed their transformation before the party.
