New Details on Family of Wines Weekend at Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World is bringing a new weekend experience to the resort that is shaping up to be an exciting event for wine fans. The Disney Family of Wines Weekend is a 3-day celebration of wine featuring over thirty different tastings, four workshops and a 2-night stay at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. We now have new details on the special appearances slated for the weekend.

Representatives from each of the wineries will be on hand to share their experiences and history in winemaking as well as their connections to Disney. All of the wines chosen for the event have a special connection to the Disney company and their parks. Representatives in attendance will include Disney Legend, actor and producer of GoGi Wines, Kurt Russell as well as:

Chappellet Vineyard – Jay James, Master Sommelier and Director of Sales
Fess Parker Winery & Vineyard – Tim Snider, President of Fess Parker Winery and Vineyard
Frank Family Vineyards – Elizabeth Parenteau, Southeast Sales Manager

The Family of Wines Weekend takes place at Walt Disney World Resort from May 17 to 19, 2019. The package cost is $2,950 per person, based on double occupancy and is available to guests 21 years of age and older. Space is limited and guests must book by May 3, 2019.

Carnivale of Stars Springtime Celebration is Back at Hong Kong Disneyland

For a limited time, now until June 26, Hong Kong Disneyland guests get to enjoy the spectacular decorations and offerings of Carnivale of Stars.

Back by popular demand is the Disney Character Egg Hunt with more than 100 fantastic Disney character-themed eggs scattered across the entire resort. This includes new eggs featuring Bo Peep and Slinky Dog from “Toy Story,” Violet, Dash and Jack-Jack from “The Incredibles,” Ralph and Venellope from “Ralph Break the Internet,” and Marvel Super Heroes “The Wasp and Captain Marvel.”

There’s an all-new Disney Stars Springtime Celebration at the Castle Hug Stage that invites guests to welcome the season’s beloved Disney characters in seasonal outfits alongside talented dancers. The center of the park and Fantasy Gardens features amazing landscaping which recreates scenes from Disney stories, such as “The Lion King,” “Winnie the Pooh,” “Bambi,” and “Moana.”

If you are a guest staying at one of the resort’s three hotels you will also get to discover a large-scale outdoor Easter Magicarnival from April 19 – April 28. It will include more than 30 themed games and activities for guests to enjoy. Families get to enjoy the Disney-themed bouncy castles, mini electric cars, large-scale inflatable games, arts-and-crafts workshop and new entertainment performance, along with meeting many of their favorite Disney characters.

The seasonal celebration features many delicacies throughout the resort–including Chocolate Potato Chips Sundae! The Royal Banquet Hall gets to features its first character buffet with Donald Duck, while the World of Color Restaurant in Disney Explorers Lodge adds a Spring Colorful Brunch and Chef Mickey in Disney’s Hollywood Hotel features an Ant-Man and The Wasp-themed DIY chocolate egg-making session!

Will Smith has taken on the role of Genie in Disney’s “live-action” Aladdin with big shoes to fill.

Earlier tonight Will went to social media to post this art work done by Character Designer Luigi Lucarelli.

The art shows the original Genie as portrayed by Robin Williams with the new cartoon version of Will Smith as Genie!

Industrial Accident at Walt Disney World

UPDATE: We have now found additional information on the accident. According to WFTV Orlando, a man has passed away after falling at a construction site behind the Epcot theme park near the France Pavilion at Walt Disney World, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident occurred around 5:14 p.m. behind the France Pavilion at the park.

Reports are coming in that there has been an industrial accident at Walt Disney World property. WESH 2 Orlando is reporting an industrial accident has been reported near a construction area by Epcot, officials said Tuesday evening. Deputies were seen near the France Pavilion.

We have no further information but will update as soon as we do!

Disney and 21st Century Fox Announce Closing Date and Election Deadline.

Disney and 21^st Century Fox in connection with Disney’s acquisition of 21CF (21^st Century Fox) made an announcement today that the deadline for holder of 21CF common stock to elect the form of consideration will be at 5:00 pm ET on March 14, 2019. In addition, Disney and 21CF announced the expected distribute to occur at approximately 8:00 am ET on March 19, 2019. All issued and outstanding shared of the Fox Corporation common stock to 21CF stockholders on a pro rata basis. The acquisition will become effective at 12:02 am ET on March 20, 2019.

Election materials were sent to 21CF stockholders was mailed on December 27, 2018. Each stockholder must properly follow the applicable options available to them. In addition, the stockholders must properly complete and submit their elections and signed election materials to Computershare Trust Company, N.A., the exchange agent in the acquisition, by the election deadline.

There is no guarantee that any 21CF stockholder will receive the form of consideration he, she or it elects on its election form if the acquisition closes. After the election deadline, Disney and 21^st Century Fox will calculate the amount of cash and/or shared of new Disney common stock to be distributed to each 21CF stockholder based on all valid elections received and in accordance with the merger agreement.

Aurélien Berda, the director of the revamped show “Stark Expo: Make Way for a Better Tomorrow!” set to debut during Marvel’s Season of Super-Heroes answered some questions regarding the show:

The Marvel Super Heroes will be back soon at Disneyland Paris! Can we expect to see new characters as part of the new Marvel Season of Super-Heroes?

Aurélien Berda said she was very happy to see the return of the Super-Heroes which were present at Marvel’s Summer of Super-Heroes last year at Disneyland Paris. She said, “this season looks even more exciting with the arrival of new characters!”. There are two new characters from the Marvel universe, who are set to join the show Stark Expo: Make Way for a Better Tomorrow as well as, Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy who will dance with Gamora and Star-Lord.

The show Stark Expo: Make Way for a Better Tomorrow! come back this year with a new name! Does this new name induce changes? How did you think this new edition?

“The show has been completely revised!”, offering “ever more immersive experience to our visitors”. Aurélien said that the duration of the show has “almost doubled” allowing for Imagineers to “further develop the plot and the characters” and that the new show will be accompanied by “new music, specially composed for the occasion”.

You mentioned that new characters were coming in, can you tell us more?

The two new characters integrated into the new show “Stark Expo: Make Way for a Better Tomorrow” is “the great Captain Marvel” whose movie just landed in theatres. “She will also have the opportunity to meet her fans at Blockbuster Café. The second character will try to quench his thirst for power: he is the sworn enemy of Captain America, Red Skull! He will be accompanied by his henchmen HYDRA to help him in his diabolical plans. I can not wait to see that!”.

Does the show contain technical novelties?

“Yes!”, said Aurélien, “we started from the fact that an exhibition revealing new green energy would be broadcast live. So this year, Stark Expo: Make Way for a Better Tomorrow! will also be broadcast live on giant screens”.

What experience do you expect most this season?

Aurélien said she has an “attachment to all the shows of this season because we worked a lot on each of the shows but Stark Expo: Make Way for a Better Tomorrow! is what I’m the most waiting for”. She hopes the guests enjoy the new version of the show and really enjoyed working on it!

Finally, what’s your favourite Marvel character?

“It’s very complicated to choose among all these characters as impressive and powerful! But if I had to choose one I would say Spider-Man because it’s the one that makes me laugh the most. He is talkative and admiring of superheroes heroes, like me!”.

Bob Saget Casts Videos After Dark in a Good Light.

Bob Saget is back! It has been twenty-two years since Saget ended his eight-season run as host of AFV. Saget is back to host Videos After Dark with Executive producer Vin Di Bona. The two are re-united to unlock Vin Di Bona’s video vault to release never-before-seen clips suited for mature audiences.

Saget describes his return to tv as an “organic thing that happened. This was not something I ever anticipated.” Saget went on to say, “I’m a different person. You know, I’m twice the age I was when the thing started. To be honest, I look at my old episodes now and go, ‘You need therapy!”

Bob Saget Casts Videos After Dark in a Good Light.

Bob Saget has been hands-on from day one of conception of Videos After Dark. Saget even wrote and recorded the theme song at L.A.’s Capitol Records in Studio 1 with Frank Sinatra’s microphone. The comedian also touched on what he is excited most about with Videos After Dark, “What I’m excited about is I’m doing the voices again, because nobody’s done them since I left AFV.”

Even though Saget also mentions that Vin Di Bona and fellow executive producer Michele Nasraway are giving him “so much more freedom” with Videos After Dark, he is still wanting to keep the fun PG-13. A special sneak preview of Videos After Dark can be seen Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 10 pm on ABC with additional episodes airing later this year.

New Disneyland Paris Annual Pass Prices!

From April 2nd 2019, Disneyland Paris is increasing its Annual Pass prices for all four types of passes.

Discover below the new Annual Pass rates:

•Discovery Annual Pass: € 11 per month (or € 179) – amortized in 2 visits *

•Magic Flex Annual Pass: 19 € per month (or 259 €) – amortized in 3 visits *

•Magic Plus Annual Pass: € 22 per month (or € 299) – amortized in 3 visits *

•Infinity Annual Pass: 36 € per month (or 449 €) – amortized in 5 visits *

The Annual Pass Marketing Team said, “the evolution of the rates of our Annual Pass reflects the tariff consistency that we maintain with our multi-day tickets” and how the Annual Passes is the best way to access new shows and seasons but also guests with an Annual Pass will be invited to exclusive Annual Pass events! The Annual Pass Marketing Team said they will “continue to develop our program of events with new Annual Pass Parties centred around our attractions and Disney Characters in the coming weeks”.

The prices per month correspond to a monthly cost rounded up to the euro for the purchase of an Annual Pass in monthly payment (11 monthly payments) and deducted from the initial payment required of 60 €. All information on the Disneyland Paris website heading monthly payment.

* Calculated on the basis of the purchase of Super Magic 1 Day tickets / 2 adult parks at 107 € (price valid from 02/04 to 06/11/2019).

Citrus Blossom Has Sold Out of Orange Bird Sippers

The Flower and Garden Festival is underway at Epcot and one of the biggest hot ticket items has been the Orange Bird Sipper available for purchase at Citrus Blossom. The cute little sipper came with an Orange Cream Slushy inside and was a hot ticket item at the festival this year.

We stopped by today for another slushy and found out that they have already sold out of the first batch they got in for the festival. The original order of 45K sippers have gone like the wind…

Look at those empty counters! The Cast Member we spoke to said there are more coming soon, but for now they are completely sold out.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is opening sooner than we had anticipated! Flights are booked, room reserved, tickets purchased! We are ready. This afternoon Disney announced that soon even more details about the land will be announced.

At this year’s Star Wars Celebration Chicago event Walt Disney Imagineering and members of Lucasfilm will be sharing new details and stories about Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge during a special panel.

“On Saturday, April 13, the “Bringing Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge to Life at Disney Parks,” panel will feature a revealing discussion about the immersive land and how guests can live their own Star Wars story when Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens on May 31 at Disneyland Resort in Southern California and August 29 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida. Director Taika Waititi Talks About Working for Marvel and Star Wars

Director and comedic talent Taika Waititi became a worldwide phenomenon with his fresh and funny Marvel hit Thor: Ragnarok in late 2017. The filmmaker was praised for his light-hearted take on the God of Thunder and gave the character a much-needed comedic boost in its third chapter. Now Waititi has moved over to another beloved franchise, Star Wars, as a director for an episode of The Mandalorian for the upcoming Disney+ service.

When speaking recently with The Observer, the director was asked about his time in both the Star Wars and Marvel Universes and how much he was allowed to infuse his own humor into the projects. It seems that Marvel Productions was a bit more willing to let him experiment than those at Lucasfilm. “There’s definitely some of the stuff I’ve learned over the years from working with [Clement] and [Simms] and everyone else back home that I have brought to my episode. But I can’t… It’s a very sacred universe, the Star Wars universe, so I can’t do too much of it.” said Waititi.

In comparison, Waititi seemed to feel a bit more free with his work on Thor: Ragnarok but still aware of his boundaries saying, “I gotta check. Sometimes they’ll say you’ve driven the Marvel truck out of the land and off the freeway and you gotta come back now,”

The Mandalorian will debut on the Disney+ streaming service at a still unannounced date. The series is being produced by Jon Favreau and stars Pedro Pascal as a lone gunfighter traveling the outreaches of the galaxy in a time between the fall of the Empire and the rise of the First Order.
