New Details on Space 220 Restaurant Coming to Epcot

New details have come in about the new “Space 220” Restaurant coming to Epcot in Walt Disney World. The Patina Group is running the luxury dining experience and they have officially posted hiring event for the addition to the Mission to Mars area at the park. The new outer space themed restaurant will offer simulated views of the galaxy while diners enjoy their meal in a spaceship themed dining room.

The restaurant will be between Test Track and Mission Space and will contain over 350 seats. “Customers will access to the dining room thanks to two fully functioning elevators with large digital screens, similar to those used by tourists to access the viewing platforms at One World Trade Center and the Burj Khalifa.”-The Patina Group

The elevator ride will simulate a trip to a space station and will exit into the restaurant which will be connected to the existing lounge. The main dining room will have a 250-foot long digital screen that will simulate a window to the galaxy outside. It sounds amazing!

Space 220 looks to be a luxury experience that is out of this world. This would be the closest I ever come to traveling through space but I can’t wait to try it myself. Pedro Pascal Cast in Lead Role in “The Mandalorian”

According to Variety, The Mandalorian may have found its star in Pedro Pascal. The live-action Star Wars series is already in production, presumably for Disney+, the upcoming Disney streaming service.

While Pascal’s name was already being floated for the series, Variety reports that an offer has been made and negotiations are taking place.

The series is “set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic,” according to writer/producer Jon Favreau.

Directors of the series include Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), and actress Bryce Dallas Howard.

Pascal is best known as Prince Oberyn on Game of Thrones and Javier Pena on Narcos. On the big screen, he can be seen in Kingsman: The Golden Circle, The Equalizer 2, and the upcoming Wonder Woman 1984.

In addition to The Mandalorian, Disney has announced another live-action Star Wars series for Disney+. This one follows Cassian Andor, the rebel spy from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story played by Diego Luna.

The Disney+ lineup is starting to shape up nicely. Look for the streaming service sometime next year.

Disney Donates $500K to California Wildfire Victims. The company that brings joy and smiles to people around the globe is bringing relief and support to those impacted by California wildfires as well. Funds will be used to support firefighters on the front lines working to contain the blaze and assist California residents immediately affected.

“The firefighters are true heroes, and we honor their tireless commitment as they continue to battle these devastating wildfires,” said Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger. “Our hearts go out to the families and communities that have been so severely affected.”

The California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Relief Fund will be the recipient of donations from Disney. This fund provides immediate support and long-term recovery efforts stemming from major California wildfires. Monies will support programs for preparedness, as well as emotional and financial assistance to firefighters, their families, and the communities they protect.

Also announced, Disney Employee Matching Gifts: A Program of The Walt Disney Company Foundation, will be matching dollar-for-dollar contributions from Disney employees (to eligible relief and recovery organizations)

It all started with a mouse, and this month everyone is celebrating Mickey’s 90th Anniversary! Disney Springs and Downtown Disney District are also getting in on the celebration with limited time Special Offerings for the big occasion.

The #ShareYourEars Program isn’t something Disney fans are unfamiliar with, but this year there’s even more ways to Share your Mousey side. At Disney Springs, a new photo backdrop was recently installed on the West Side, while at Downtown Disney District, you can find it near the Downtown Disney LIVE! stage.

Special Offerings To Celebrate Mickey’s Birthday At Disney Springs and Downtown Disney District

Even the LEGO Store at both Disney Springs and Downtown Disney are getting in on the celebration with a LEGO Mystery Build celebrating Mickey Mouse. Taking place November 16-18 at The LEGO Store at both Disney Springs and Downtown Disney, guests will be able to add to a LEGO mural that will come together as LEGO blocks are added! This mural will reveal new artwork that was custom-created for Mickey’s 90th Anniversary.

Lego and #ShareYourEars aren’t the only exciting offerings to find at Disney Springs and Downtown Disney for Mickey’s 90th. Lots of retailers at Disney Springs and Downtown Disney are also sharing masterpieces of their own. New collections and products honoring 90 years of Mickey Mouse can be found throughout both areas.

Art of Disney (Disney Springs) will host a “Celebration of the Mouse” Artist Event – Friday, November 16, kicking off a weekend of festivities. Guests will have the opportunity to meet acclaimed Disney artists Brian Blackmore, Doug Bolly, Don “Ducky” Williams, and Darren Wilson from 6 – 9 p.m. EST as we launch a new art program celebrating Mickey. Doug Bolly, Alex Maher, and Don “Ducky” Williams will also be available on Friday, December 7 from 6 – 9 p.m. EST and Sunday, December 9 from 12 – 3 p.m. EST to keep the celebration going.
Curl by Sammy Duvall (Disney Springs) and Curl Surf (Downtown Disney District) – Guests can find watches featuring “Mickey the True Original” by Nixon as well as a Mickey and Minnie-inspired shoes from the new “Disney x Vans” collection.
The Dress Shop on Cherry Tree Lane at Marketplace Co-Op (Disney Springs) and The Disney Dress Shop (Downtown Disney District) – New Mickey Mouse Dooney & Bourke Bag and a matching “Mickey Through the Years” dress and MagicBand will be released on November 18.
Ever After Jewelry Co. & Accessories (Disney Springs) – Mickey’s Birthday Watch and a Sugarfina co-branded release, both available on November 17.
Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Co. (Disney Springs) – Newly released Mickey’s 90th Anniversary Blend, a smooth, medium-roasted coffee that is part of the new “Disney Coffee Collection”, also coming soon to select Joffrey’s stores nationwide.
Havaianas (Disney Springs) – New collection that features illustrations representing each decade of Mickey Mouse. The Opening Edition Style, featuring a mix of two icons with the signature Havaianas striped sole and Mickey Mouse ears, will launch on Mickey’s birthday on November 18. A new style will also be released every Monday through January 21, 2019.
Lacoste (Disney Springs) – Store windows featuring the newest “Disney x Lacoste” fashions. On November 18, 2018, there will also be an in-store event with fun photo backdrops, candy, and more.
Levi’s (Disney Springs) The brand has partnered with Snapchat to offer their Disney Springs guests the opportunity to purchase a limited-edition Mickey Mouse hat, part of the new collection.
PANDORA – Limited-edition Disney dangle charm in sterling silver, detailed with a 14k gold number “90” will be available at both Disney Springs and Downtown Disney, while supplies last.
UNIQLO (Disney Springs) – New “Mickey Stands Collection” is now in store. To support the launch, the store will be adding extra entertainment with traditional Japanese drummers and brand ambassadors select weekend dates in November and December from 4 – 9 p.m. with the first activation taking place on Saturday, November 17.
WonderGround Gallery at Marketplace Co-Op (Disney Springs) – “Celebration of the Mouse” – Artist Event November 16 – 18 and December 7 – 9. WonderGround artists Dave Perillo and Kristin Tercek will be available to meet Guests and sign their newest Mickey pieces November 16 – 17 from 6 – 9 p.m. EST and November 18 from 12 – 3 p.m. EST. Matt Hawkins and Bill Robinson will be appearing December 7 – 8 from 6 – 9 p.m. EST and December 9 from 12 – 3 p.m. EST.

World of Disney will be celebrating too! On November 17 the stores at both Disney Springs and Downtown Disney District will offer event tees, commemorative Mickey plush and a new Sugarfina co-branded product release.

At Disney Springs the weekend will include Happy Birthday music and shout-outs from DJs and performers in addition to special photo backdrops from Disney PhotoPass Photographers. Disney Springs will also have complimentary buttons near the Disney Springs Christmas Tree Trail, Amorette’s Patisserie, Marketplace Co-Op, and Art of Disney.

Olaf's Frozen Adventure to Air on T.V. During 25 Days of Christmas

You may have seen Olaf’s Frozen Adventure before a screening of Coco while it was in theaters. For those who never got the chance before it was cut from the screen, you are in luck. Disney/ABC have announced Olaf’s Frozen Adventure will be a part of the 25 Days of Christmas program on ABC.

In the short film, Elsa and Anna host a wonderful holiday gathering for the citizens of Arendelle, in celebration of the first seasonal holiday at the palace since the gates were reopened. After the party ends earlier than they thought, Elsa and Anna realize they do not have any holiday family traditions as the citizens go home to celebrate their traditions. To make them feel better, Olaf and Sven go on an adventure to find traditions for Elsa and Anna to save their “First Christmas in Forever.”

The featured voices of the characters are:

Josh Gad (Olaf)
Idina Menzel (Elsa)
Kristen Bell (Anna)
Jonathan Groff (Kristoff)

All of whom voiced the characters in the original Frozen feature film and will reprise their roles in the much anticipated, Frozen 2 feature film.

Olaf’s Frozen Adventure is set to show on ABC at 8 p.m. EST on Thursday November 29, 2018.

Celebrating Mickey's Birthday With Philharmagic! Tokyo Disneyland is celebrating Mickey’s birthday by discussing Philharmagic. This magical show stars the main mouse Mickey, his pal Donald and a whole host of lovable Disney characters. This show can be found in Fantasyland near the castle at Tokyo Disneyland.

In the show, Mickey is the famous conductor of the “Philharmonic Orchestra” but when combined with magic, coins the name “Philharmagic!”.

Inside the holding area, check out the beautiful chandeliers and cases filled with memorabilia from famous Disney Classics which feature in the show. The walls are also lined with fantastic posters of works that have played in the famous concert hall. My personal favourite is Genie singing the blues!

In Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns, an all-new original musical and sequel, Mary Poppins is back to help the next generation of the Banks family find the joy and wonder missing in their lives following a personal loss. Emily Blunt stars as the practically-perfect nanny with unique magical skills who can turn any ordinary task into an unforgettable, fantastic adventure and Lin-Manuel Miranda plays her friend Jack, an optimistic street lamplighter who helps bring light—and life—to the streets of London.

Mary Poppins Returns is directed by Rob Marshall. The screenplay is by David Magee and the screen story is by Magee & Rob Marshall & John DeLuca based upon the Mary Poppins Stories by PL Travers. The film features all new original songs with music by Marc Shaiman and lyrics by Scott Wittman and Shaiman. The film also stars Ben Whishaw as Michael Banks; Emily Mortimer as Jane Banks; with Colin Firth as Fidelity Fiduciary Bank’s William Weatherall Wilkins; and Meryl Streep as Mary’s eccentric cousin, Topsy. Angela Lansbury appears as the Balloon Lady, a treasured character from the PL Travers books and Dick Van Dyke is Mr. Dawes, Jr., the retired chairman of the bank now run by Firth’s character.

If you need more “Toy Story” and can’t wait until the next movie arrives you’re in luck. Thanks to ABC Television Network’s holiday programming you will be able to watch “Toy Story That Time Forgot” on November 29th (8:30-9:00 p.m. EST).

In this made for television short, the “Toy Story” gang get themselves into a little bit of a pickle when they come upon a set of dangerous action figures during a post-Christmas play date.

That leaves it up to Trixie, the triceratops, to help get the gang to safety and return to Bonnie’s room.

The cast of “Toy Story That Time Forgot” includes Tom Hanks as Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz, Kristen Schaal as Trixie, Kevin McKidd (“Grey’s Anatomy”) as Reptillus Maximus, Wallace Shawn as Rex, Timothy Dalton as Mr. Pricklepants, Don Rickles as Mr. Potato Head and Joan Cusack as Jessie.

“Toy Story That Time Forgot” is produced by Galyn Susman and directed by Steve Purcell. The special is from Pixar Animation Studios.

The menu is inspired by the characters from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and look as tasty as they sound. The prix fixe menu includes:

Guests can now make reservations to dine at Artist Point, which can be found at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. Participants in the Disney Dining Plan will be able to use a meal credit when dining at this location. Be sure to bring your character signature books and camera with you. In the evening at Artist Point you will get the chance to meet Snow White, Dopey, Grumpy, and even The Queen!

Mickey’s 90th birthday is this month, and Disney Springs is celebrating with exciting and unique new merchandise and treats. Many of the retailers at Disney Springs are joining in on the celebration with unique collections that commemorate Mickey Mouse’s legacy and influence on pop culture. Some of the items include clothing, accessories, jewelry, shoes and other items for purchase.

At the newly redesigned World of Disney store, Guests looking to celebrate the Main Mouse will find all kinds of Mickey and Minnie merchandise for everyone who has ever dreamed of being a Mouseketeer. There’s even a collection inspired by the infamous Mickey Mouse Club.

Melissa Shoes has an exciting collection of Mickey Mouse shoes, other footwear and accessories for both children and adults.

Amorette’s Patisserie offers “Started With A Mouse,” which is a delectable Boston creme pie with white chiffon cake, blue glacage, dark chocolate ears and blue fondant. Is that not your taste?
