PizzeRizzo Restaurant is Temporarily Reopening on May 4, 2019!

Good news! PizzeRizzo Restaurant will be reopening to guests on May 4 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. PizzeRizzo is a seasonal restaurant for one month from 11 am to 1 hour before park close. PizzeRizzo Restaurant is expected to close again by the end of May/Beginning of June.

In addition, the ABC Commissary restaurant will be closed from May 5 to May 24, 2019. The location is currently expected to reopen on May 25^th with multiple new enhancements! The ABC will now include a self-serve beverage station, new art-deco-inspired elements, and furnishing. Also included in the refurbishments are new food and beverage offerings!

ABC Commissary offers a quick-service lunch menu and a fast-casual dinner menu, which features delicious entrees. Guests can purchase a Vegan Burger topped with a vegan mayonnaise-ketchup blend, spicy Sriracha mustard and griddled balsamic glazed onions and bell peppers. Another mouth-watering option is the BBQ Rib Platter with tender dry-rubbed slow-smoked pork ribs served with coleslaw, pickles, and steak fries.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is turning 30! To celebrate the huge milestone Disney will be holding an event all day long on May 1st with exclusive merchandise, food, celebrations with Disney celebs, and more! A Disney’s Hollywood Studios 30th Anniversary Star-Studded Celebration cavalcade starring Mickey and friends will step off at 10 a.m. and will head down Hollywood Blvd. Check it out all of the days events here:

For May 1st only you will be able to taste and drink your way through Hollywood Studios with special anniversary items like Kylo Ren Cupcakes, Incredibles Macarons, Tres Leches Verrine, and more! They will be releasing an Official Foodie breakdown next week. We will bring you all the amazing food here, don’t worry!

Make sure you plan ahead because the park will close early for a special Disney After Hours event that evening as well. You can get tickets now so you aren’t left missing out! Attendees can experience little to no-wait on park favorites, including The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, Toy Story Land attractions and more. Stay For the Debut of “Wonderful World of Animation” – The park’s new nighttime projection show will light up the park for its official debut on May 1. Watch in wonder as the façade of the Chinese Theatre is magically transformed – displaying this stirring tribute to animation. Behold spectacular sequences celebrating themes like magic, family, adventure, romance and friendship. Each theme is brought to life through unforgettable moments from beloved films—like “Sleeping Beauty,” “The Incredibles,” “Coco” and many more. The show will debut at 9:05 p.m. ET, just prior to the park’s “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular” fireworks show.

Guests entering the park can grab a special 30th anniversary commemorative guide map and button. Special 30th anniversary merchandise will be unveiled on May 1, including a new adult T-shirt, baseball cap, Tervis 24-oz tumbler, MagicBand, ornament and much more. Annual passholders can also shop for some items exclusively created for them. Merchandise can be found starting at 8 a.m. in Grand Park, while supplies last. Disney Pledges $5 Million to Support Rebuilding of Notre-Dame Cathedral

Today the Walt Disney Company announced it is committing $5 million to aid in the reconstruction of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris following the devastating fire that severely damaged the historic landmark this week.

“Notre-Dame is a beacon of hope and beauty that has defined the heart of Paris and the soul of France for centuries, inspiring awe and reverence for its art and architecture and for its enduring place in human history. The Walt Disney Company stands with our friends and neighbors in the community, offering our heartfelt support as well as a $5 million donation for the restoration of this irreplaceable masterpiece,” said Robert A. Finding Nemo Tumbler Cup Splashes Into Animal Kingdom

Something exciting has found its way onto popcorn stands at Animal Kingdom! The fun light-up Finding Nemo Tumbler Cup that first debuted at Pixar Fest at Disneyland Resort, can now be found splashing around at Animal Kingdom!

This cup has a similar style to other straw and dome lid tumblers we’ve seen at the Disney Parks. A clear stand holds Nemo up as he “swims” around the cup. Ever since I first saw this cup at Pixar Fest I loved the bubbling in the plastic that makes the cup look like it’s under water. When you push the button at the top of the domed lid a fun blue light will shine into the cup, to really enhance that undersea look.

You can find this playful Finding Nemo Tumbler at select popcorn carts in Animal Kingdom! You can add it on to any drink available for $11.75. Now we just need to find Dory!

Last night we had the pleasure of covering the brilliant Harry Potter Dark Arts castle light show at Universal Hollywood! The “Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle” will illuminate Hogwarts castle and “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” nightly from April 13 – 28 at Universal Studios Hollywood then return from May 25 – 27. The entire show was breathtaking and we will be back for it over and over. It will be showing in Universal Orlando later this year and we will be there front and center for that as well!

With ticket sales on fire and selling out all over the world for opening weekend, so many fans are left to wait to be able to see the film. #DontSpoilTheEndgame hashtag has taken social media by storm as the brothers posted a letter to fans.

“To the greatest fans in the world”, the opening reads. “This is it. This is the end. The end of an unprecedented narrative mosaic spanning eleven years and eleven franchises.” The letter goes on to ask you to keep from sharing the plot and spoiling it for those who have not been able to see it. Cornish Pixies Announced As Magical Creature Featured In Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure

This week Universal Orlando Blog is announcing the magical creatures that will make their debut in the all-new roller coaster experience that is coming to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Yesterday, Universal announced that Fluffy, the three-headed dog who falls asleep at the sound of music, will be making an appearance in this highly anticipated attraction.

Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure will be opening on June 13, 2019 in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Guests will have the opportunity to have a highly immersive coaster experience unlike any other. New levels of storytelling will be combined with innovative coaster technology as well as elaborate environments. Riders will journey into the Forbidden Forest with Hagrid and discover some of the rarest magical creatures that exist in the Potter Universe during the ride.

Universal Orlando Blog announced today that Cornish pixies will be making a swarm of an appearance. These magical creatures are pint-sized – they only stand about 13 inches tall. They also live to create mischief which unfortunately usually comes at the expense of others and may not be for those with a fear of heights. Cornish pixies are winged magical creatures and can easily lift an unsuspecting victim in the air and set them in a tree or tall building. Remember Neville? According to Universal Orlando Blog, there will be more than 20 of these electric blue magical creatures with wings to be found throughout the adventure in places that one may not expect. That being said, an infamous blue car was specifically mentioned.

These magical creatures were first introduced to fans in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets during Gilderoy Lockhart’s Defense Against the Dark Arts class. According to Pottermore, Cornish pixies produce high-pitched jabbering that is incomprehensible to others except for other pixies.

Magical creatures that will be featured in Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure will be announced every day this week through April 19. Make sure to keep checking back to see if your favorite magical creature will be featured in the new ride opening June 13!

Thanks to the Orlando Sentinel we have an inside look at the interior of the new gondolas for Disney’s Skyliner coming this fall! The small cabins will have twin wooden benches that will hold up to 10 people as they soar across Disney property to their destinations at approximately 11 mph. The Skyliner system will run with 8 different colored gondolas wrapped with over 22 Disney characters over 60 feet in the air at it’s highest point.

Thomas Mazloum, a Disney senior vice president who oversees transportation and resorts, said the ride will feel much faster than 11 mph. It will run smoothly and stay cool as they have taken into consideration the Florida heat. “We have specifically designed them with the Florida climate in mind,” he said, pointing to reflective windows that block out the sunlight and the mesh screens on both sides to bring in a breeze.

The Skyliner will take between 5-15 minutes to travel between the parks, loading is described as continuous in the Skyliner stations, with the capability to pause the system to allow wheelchairs to board. Many guests have expressed concerns about wheelchair accessibility, and now we have some answers!

Here is the quarterly injury report for the Central Florida theme parks including Disney World and Universal Studios Orlando. SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, and Legoland had 0 injuries reported for the first quarter which declined from the first quarter of 2019.

Please note only illnesses or incidents resulting in a hospital stay of 24-hours or more including deaths are reported.

Disney World had only 6 reported injuries for the first quarter.

1/30/19 Prince Charming Regal Carousel, 69-year-old guest fell while exiting the attraction and fractured hip
2/2/19 Slinky Dog Dash, a 30-year-old guest with a pre-existing condition had a seizure
