Disney Skyliner Rescue Boat Spotted at Walt Disney World

What’s this, What’s this! Is it a new boat dedicated to the new Skyliner? We have recently spotted a new Disney Skyliner rescue boat at Walt Disney World.

We all know how much Disney prides itself on the safety of its guests while they are visiting the most magical place on earth. It should be no surprise that Disney has its guests in mind for when they are on the new Skyliners.

Even though it is not the most ideal thought for anyone while they are on vacation, we should all be prepared for the unexpected. Which is why Disney has revealed the new Disney Skyliner Rescue Boat. This boat is located on Hourglass lake near the Art of Animation and Pop Century Resort Station.

In case of an emergency, guests can evacuate from the Skyliner onto a three-story pontoon. This giant blue boat is outfitted with plenty of ring buoys and foam barriers to protect the boat.

Guests will unload onto the top platform and proceed to the bottom to continue onto their journey back to the dock where they will unload to “safety”.

With the amount of testing the Skyliner is undergoing, we don’t predict Disney will need to use these often. However, we still rest easy knowing how guests will be evacuated from the hanging gondolas in case of an emergency!

Leave a Legacy Monoliths Cleared on Left Side

Epcot has been going through so major renovations recently. The most noticeable being the removal of the Leave A Legacy Monoliths.

In early March, permits were filed for this removal. Walls around the monoliths were placed in May. Leave A Legacy will still be close by and available for viewing. It will be placed just outside of the Epcot entrance.

During this process, the entire west side of monoliths have been cleared. An open path has been made for easier guest entry. Although no walls have gone up, we can assume construction will begin in the removal of the east side of the monuments soon. Hopefully in time for guests enjoying the Food and Wine Festival.

This isn’t the only new changes being made to the Epcot entry way. We reported last month that all details of newness coming to Epcot will be announced at this year’s D23 Expo in Anaheim.

After all the monoliths have been removed, planters and greenery will take its place. These planters will create new, open, pathways for guests visiting Epcot. As we can see from the concept art that’s been floating around, the area could be a newly renovated fountain.

All updates will become more clear as we near the expo. As for now, guests do not seem to mind all of the open and available space.

This fall, Cruella’s Halloween Hide-A-Way is coming to the Magic Kingdom! This all-new dining experience is hosted by the infamous Disney Villain herself during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.

Starting at 9:30 pm, guests can come to Tony’s Town Square restaurant and mingle with one of the villains everyone loves to hate as she hosts this new experience! Guests will enjoy various hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and beverages including beer and wine selections and more.

Take a taste from the Witches Cauldron – a kettle filled with creamy spinach dip served with ciabatta crostini. There will also be assorted Halloween flatbreads and more.

For your sweet tooth, there will be Kanine Krunchy cake, Mini De Vil brownies, chocolate-covered strawberries, cheesecake, and more.

Seating is available on a first-come, first serve basis and guests are encouraged to share seating space.

The fun doesn’t end there though! Guests can come and go as they please and then head out to a reserved viewing spot for “Mickey’s Boo-To-You” parade. After the parade, you can head back and enjoy some more fun if you would like! Guests have access to the event until 12:30 am.

Disney Stars To Meet Fans Every Day At Disney’s D23 Expo 2019 In Anaheim, August 23–25

Kids, tweens, and families can meet their favorite Disney Channel and Disney Junior stars during three fun-filled days at D23 Expo 2019, the ultimate Disney fan event, taking place FRIDAY, AUGUST 23 – SUNDAY, AUGUST 25 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. With special appearances scheduled daily, fans are invited to stop by the Walt Disney Television booth on the Expo show floor to meet and take pictures with some of their favorite stars from hit Disney Channel series and movies. Popular Disney Junior characters Fancy Nancy and Vampirina will also be on hand to greet young fans over all three days. In addition, the schedule features a Q&A session, including a special appearance by the world’s most famous amphibian, Kermit the Frog, as he joins the creators and voices behind Disney Television Animation’s hit series Amphibia and Big City Greens, taking place at Stage 28 on Saturday, August 24.

A limited-edition collection of T-shirts from classic Disney Channel favorites, including High School Musical, Hannah Montana, and Camp Rock, among others, will be available for purchase exclusively to D23 Expo attendees in the Walt Disney Television booth.

On FRIDAY, AUGUST 23, fans can meet the young stars of Raven’s Home and the cast of Disney Channel’s newest series Just Roll With It.

On SATURDAY, AUGUST 24, fans are invited to hop over to Stage 28 where Amphibia stars Disney Legend Bill Farmer, Amanda Leighton, and Justin Felbinger and series creator/executive producer Matt Braly will join Big City Greens cast members Marieve Herington and Bob Joles, and creators/executive producers Chris and Shane Houghton for a lively Q&A session featuring the one-and-only Kermit the Frog. Cast members from Disney’s Emmy® Award-nominated DuckTales and hit Disney Channel series Sydney to the Max and Coop & Cami Ask the World will be on hand to meet fans and take pictures in the Walt Disney Television booth.

On SUNDAY, AUGUST 25, fans can meet the stars of Disney’s Emmy® Award-nominated Big Hero 6 The Series, based on Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Academy Award®-winning feature film, as well as cast members from the Disney Channel Original Movie ZOMBIES and fan-favorite Disney Channel series BUNK’D.

‘Mythbusters’ Adam Savage Builds Mark 2 Iron Man Flight Suit

‘Mythbusters’ Adam Savage Builds Mark 2 Iron Man Flight Suit. With the help of Colorado School of Mines, EOS, and Gravity Industries, Adam was able to construct the closest thing to the Iron Man suit from the Marvel Cinematic Universe with current technology.

It all started when Adam made an appearance at the Colorado School of Mines and met Craig Brice, who offered for Savage to create “something weird” with their 3D printer with the ability to make titanium prints. After some thinking he asked Brice, “How about a full suit of Iron Man armor?” to which Brice responded immediately with a resounding “Yes!”

The build will appear on Adam’s new show on Discovery, Savage Builds. You can check out this video from cNet with an up close look at Adam learning how to use a personal flight system made by Gravity Industries. Also featured is Gravity Industries founder and pilot, Richard Browning who suits up in Adam’s Mark 2 Iron Man Suit for a test flight. Watch it here:

The suit was made as thin as possible to compensate for the added weight. Adam wanted to go even further and test the titanium suit to see if it was also bullet proof, like the ‘real deal’. Check out Adam testing the build on his new show Savage Builds on Discovery.

Flying the Iron Man suit is one thing, and testing it’s structural integrity was super fun to watch, but Adam had to solve another big problem… where would he store it? You can watch him build a unique stand for the Mark 2 here:

Minnie Vans And Lyft Are Celebrating 1 Million Guests Transported!

The popular rideshare service, Minnie Vans have served over 1 million guests at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland. With this milestone, Disney announced that Lyft is now the official rideshare service of Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort.

To celebrate, Disney and Lyft will be making new enhancements to the service as early as this fall. Guests will now have an enhanced app experience to make it easier to request a Minnie Van ride. You’ll even be able to pick convenient pick-up locations and select wheelchair accessible vehicles.

Minnie Vans have been around since 2017, and the fleet takes guests everywhere they want within Disney property, to and from Orlando International Airport, and Port Canaveral.
