New “Grub” Burger Offered at D-Luxe Burger in Disney Springs

You can be a big pig too! With the new(and hopefully around for just a limited time) Grub Burger offered at D-Luxe Burger in celebration of Disney’s Lion King coming to theaters July 19th, 2019. The looks of this burger have us saying “no thanks” but some may disagree.

The Grub Burger has been added to the menu for $13.49 and replaced the Caribbean Burger. It’s a signature patty, topped by tomato worms, a basil grasshopper, balsamic vinegar spiders, fresh tomato salad, fried mozzarella, and lettuce on a parker house. Timon and Pumba probably wouldn’t complain.

Slimy, yet I wouldn’t say it’s satisfying… The bugs on this burger are wiggly and have a shimmer to them. Even though I know its just the presentation, I can’t get past the bug part. What do you think? Would you get your grub on?

Wine Pops Now Offered at Pizza Ponte in Disney Springs

Unique choices range from zero-proof fruit-flavored pops like Chocolate-Dipped Strawberry and Florida Orange to buzz-worthy White Sangria and Mango Mimosa wine pops. All of the Instagram-worthy pops are made with 100% real fruit, and are gluten, dairy, nut, and soy free. Adult beverage meets childhood frozen snack in this marriage of fruity sensations that can be eaten straight up or dipped in a guest’s favorite glass of wine. These delightful handheld treats are also available at the Italy Pavilion in Epcot at Walt Disney World Resort.

Disney Adds New Fountain for Water Bottles

Everyone knows how important hydration is in the Florida summer, so it’s nice to see Disney adding more quick ways to hydrate (and for free). These have already popped up in many airports and gyms.

Now they are being featured at Disney beginning with Cosmic Rays Starlight Cafe. These fountains are a wonderful alternative to waiting in long quick service lines to ask for a free cup of water. They give guests the opportunity to fill their own water bottles brought from home without wasting a water cup (or two). There is a count of how many water bottles will be saved but maybe it should be a paper cup count instead.

Elkay, the distributor of the fountains, also claims to reduce lead and other contaminants through the filter. For Disney, this is another small step along with paper straws to the company becoming more environmentally conscious. Here’s to hoping more of these will be added in the coming future. 2019 Epcot Food & Wine Festival Merchandise And Spirit Jersey

The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival returns August 29th! It looks like there will be a lot of adorable Epcot Food & Wine Festival Merchandise offerings, including a Spirit jersey to celebrate your visit with too! We loved the sneak peek at Minnie’s Garden Party in May, but now we have descriptions of the different collections coming to the festival. Also, SPIRIT JERSEY!

The Spirit Jersey features sweet designs of cupcakes, and golden glitter sprinkles! This is part of the Chef Minnie & Mickey Collection, which has gotten a cutesy makeover. I love how it is vertically two-tone, which makes it a bit unique compared to the usual dip-dyed two tone we see.

There are five different collection themes, plus an Annual Passholder exclusive collection!

Taste Your Way Around the World –Follow your tastes around the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival and celebrate your experience with everything from apparel to tabletop accessories. With these cork and wine color inspired items, there’s sure to be something for everyone in this classic collection.
Chef Minnie & Mickey – Chef Minnie has joined Chef Mickey this year and has brought a “sprinkle” of fun to the Festival! They are busy baking cupcakes and other delectable desserts with ingredients that include rose gold accents, pretty pink and purple colors and, of course, some sparkle! Look for these new Festival favorites, including a cupcake headband, rose gold mugs, apparel and more.
Brews Around the World – Toast your way around the World—in any language! The bottle carrier with bottle opener, growler, drinkware, apparel and baseball cap complete the Brews around the World collection for the craft beer lover!
Recipe for a Figment – Get ready for Chef Figment to join you in your kitchen as he shares his Figment recipe on apparel, accessories and baking items. Record all your favorites from the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival in the Figment journal and whip up some tasty dishes in the Figment mixing bowl!
Chef Remy – As host of the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, Chef Remy has recreated some of the pavilions with his favorite food items on apparel and kitchenware, perfect to commemorate this International Festival!
Passholder Collection – Throughout the Festival, Passholders can celebrate with an assortment of keepsakes created especially for them! All of your favorite Chefs, including Chef Minnie, Chef Mickey, Chef Figment and Chef Remy will introduce their own featured items during the Festival. Look for the first items on August 29, 2019, with the remaining items available on September 12, 2019.

The tasting tray and Tervis travel wine up have gotten a design update this festival as well. The tasting trays are a genius item that hold your cups with or without stems, and your food to free up a hand for on the go tasting!

All of these Food & Wine Festival Merchandise offerings and more will be available at Mouse Gear, and other select retail locations throughout Epcot when the festival returns August 29th!

New Toy Story Carnival Cake at Disneyland

Hey howdy hey! You have got to try the new, rootin’, tootin’ Carnival Cake at the Stage Door Cafe!

Not only is this funnel cake so colorful and fun to look at, it’s mighty delicious too! This cake is fried to perfection and covered in fruit cereal and milk. Then, it is topped with three Mickey-shaped dollops of whipped cream and drizzled in raspberry sauce. Yee haw! Finally, placed on top of this delectable funnel cake is a white chocolate sheriff’s badge that even Woody would be proud of.

This treat comes to us in conjunction with the release of Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 4. The film partially takes place at a carnival. So, that makes this sweet treat very fitting indeed.

At the Golden Horseshoe, they’re serving up some more Toy Story inspired sweets. Guests can also try Bonnie’s Root Boot Float topped with cotton candy. Next, try the Loop-de-loop sundae with a fruit cereal churro and more raspberry sauce. The Golden Horseshoe in Fronteirland is the interior quick service restaurant that the Stage Door Cafe is attached to.

Round up your friends at the Stage Door Cafe and share this yummy Carnival Cake with them! We’re pretty sure they will thank you for it.

The Force is strong with the elegant Star Wars Home Collection from Kenneth Cobonpue. No matter the generation Star Wars is a household name. Kenneth Cobonpue has designed a collection of furniture that captures the timelessness of the iconic franchise.

Kenneth Cobonpue is known for designs that are handmade, nature-inspired, and whimsical. They have taken these design pillars to reimagine and blend the beloved Star Wars universe with their universe to create furniture inspired by iconic characters and elements. The Filipino designer’s perspective of the global pop culture phenomenon is a stunning collection of home goods that are stylish, instead of cartoonish.

Design elements like Dark Side inspired arm chairs, and Jedi light fixtures make this a galactic collection that echoes our childhoods, while still being mature and stylish. These statement pieces are designed to effortlessly mix into home decor, as nods to our beloved Star Wars franchise.

My favorite are the Tie-Fighter Easy Arm Chairs are one of my favorites of the collection. They have the iconic forms and shapes that you recognize right away, but also don’t look like they belong in a child’s bedroom. I can imagine these in a living room, an office, or even a patio!

There is also an incredible amount of detailing in this collection. The Jedi inspired lamps look like art deco pieces from a far, but up close you can see that it is various Jedis posed with lightsabers!

Initially only available in the Philippines, the collection then expanded to Milan, and is now coming to the US. It will be available at various retailers around the country. You can check the list here to see if there will be a retailer near you.

Star Wars “Skywalker Saga” Rumored To Be Release In Blu-Ray/4K Ultra HD Box Set

Star Wars “Skywalker Saga” Rumored To Be Release In Blu-Ray/4K Ultra HD Box Set. According to a report by The Digital Bits, the entire Skywalker Saga will be released in a Blue-Ray/4k Ultra HD box set.

The box set would consist of Episodes I-Episode IX of the Star Wars franchise, leaving out Rogue One and Solo: A Star Wars Story. Though this is strictly a rumor at the moment, it would not be surprising given that there were VHS and DVD box set releases of Episode IV-Episode VI and a “Complete Saga” release of Episode I-Episode VI in the past. Also rumored is the release of Star Wars: Episode IX : The Rise of Skywalker via Digital and Blu-Ray in early 2020.

“We already know that the classic trilogy has been scanned from the original negatives (new 4K masters are done and ready), and the prequels will no doubt be upsampled and digitally restored.” the report from The Digital Bits explains. “Whether Disney and Lucasfilm would consider including the original theatrical versions of those classic films is the $24,000 question. My gut tells me to assume they won’t, at this point. Then, if they do, you can be pleasantly surprised. So take that all as a rumor for now and stay tuned for more here as it comes in.”

When asked about Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker, Director J.J. Abrams explained how the film wasn’t just about rounding out the latest trilogy, but a culmination of 9 films coming to a close.

“Our movie was not just following what we had started [with The Force Awakens], it was following what we had started and then had been advanced by someone else [with Star Wars: The Last Jedi]. So there was that, and, finally, it was resolving nine movies,” The Rise of Skywalker director J.J. Abrams shared in an interview earlier in 2019. “While there are some threads of larger ideas and some big picture things that had been conceived decades ago and a lot of ideas that Lawrence Kasdan and I had when we were doing Episode VII, the lack of absolute inevitability, the lack of a complete structure for this thing, given the way it was being run, was an enormous challenge.”

“The movie doesn’t pick up immediately after the last film,” shared Abrams. “Some time has passed. This movie is an adventure the group goes on together. One of the great things about getting to work on the movie is the dynamic between all of the characters. They’re amazing together, and it’s something I’m excited for you all to see.”

Fans have been openly torn over the future of the Star Wars franchise, but regardless of the many views of its fans, there is not doubting how exciting it will be to see how Lucasfilm, Disney, and Abrams wrap up over 4 decades of storytelling. We are also intrigued by how they plan on telling more stories about new characters in the Star Wars Universe after the Skywalker Saga has wrapped.

Daisy Ridley Has Confirmed Rey Will NOT Be In The New Star Wars Trilogy

Daisy Ridley Has Confirmed Rey Will NOT Be In The New Star Wars Trilogy. As the premiere of Star Wars: Episode IX approaches, conversations about the future of the franchise have been more frequent, particularly in individual interviews with the stars of the film.

Celebrities such as Mark Hamill and John Boyega have expressed a sense of closure for their roles as Luke Skywalker and Finn at the end of this final trilogy. Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker will be the final installation in what is being referred to as the “Skywalker Saga” for Star Wars. It seems fellow cast member, Daisy Ridley, feels her time as Rey is over following the release of Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker this December.

During an interview with Buzzfeed News show, AM to DM, Daisy was asked if she would be a part of the new Star Wars Trilogy. She responded with, “I can say I’m not in the next trilogy. Because Rian [Johnson] always said… if it’s the Rian one, or it’s the guys that did Game of Thrones. I’m not sure. Whichever one it was, they always said it was going to be a separate story. So I’m not, no.”

Though Ridley says she is not in the next trilogy for the Star Wars franchise, she left the door open for the possibility of returning to the Star Wars Universe in the future.

It was previously announced Game of Thrones writers, D.B. Weiss and David Benioff, would be penning a new trilogy for Lucasfilm. It is still unclear if the pair will be working with Director Rian Johnson, or if Weiss and Benioff and Johnson are working on two separate trilogies for the studio.

Though Lucasfilm is already planning another trilogy in the future, it will be a couple years before we see another Star Wars title in the box office line up. “We will take a pause, some time, and reset,” Iger said, “because the Skywalker saga comes to an end with this ninth movie. There will be other Stars Wars movies, but there will be a bit of a hiatus.”

There are many stories left to tell in the Star Wars Universe, but with the over saturation of Star Wars films being one of the many reasons Solo: A Star Wars Story performed so poorly in theaters, Lucasfilm and Disney are being cautious and believe a break is in order to help fans prepare for an all new trilogy that will introduce us to an entirely new storyline and lovable characters.

Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker premieres in theaters December 20, 2019.

2019 Epcot Food and Wine-Eat to the Beat Concert Series Lineup Update!

The 2019 Eat to the Beat Concert Series lineup was announced a while ago but now the Eat to the Beat lineup update is out and this year they have announced some great acts! Why not finish up a day of feating and drinking at the Epcot Food and Wine Festival and then relax while you watch some live entertainment from some top-named acts. This year Disney promises this final lineup to be the biggest and best lineup ever! This week Disney also released the full menu for Epcot Food and Wine Festival 2019, check it out here.

Cool Down with Shaved Ice from Disney’s Animal Kingdom

The Florida sun has been harsh this week with temperatures soaring over 90 and apart from the Kali Rapids… the best way to cool down is having shaved ice! Whether you need some alcohol in yours or not, there are three refreshing flavours on offer at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and can be found in the area of the Harambe Market! The three flavours of shaved ice are:

Watermelon (with the option of Snow Leopard Vodka) for $4.99 ($10.50)
Mango- Passion Fruit (with the option of Snow Leopard Vodka) for $4.99 ($10.50)
Piña Colada (with the option of African Rum) for $4.99 ($10.50)

If you chose the alcoholic version, it will cost you $10.50 while the unleaded version costs $4.99. The non-alcoholic version also counts towards a snack credit on the Dining Plan.
