Primeval Whirl Extends Refurbishment at Animal Kingdom

The Primeval Whirl attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is going through some refurbishments lately. Recently, it seems like fans of the attraction will have to wait longer to ride.

The attraction first experienced closure in mid June and was expected to open late July. However, Walt Disney World released an advisory stating that the ride will continue its refurbishment until August 3rd.

Primeval Whirl is located in Dinoland, U.S.A at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Resort. This dinosaur-themed coaster spins guests through a fast and fun journey through the land of the dinosaurs. With plenty of twists and turns, this attraction has become a guest favorite in the land.

The attraction was said to be having technical issues. These issues have resulted in the extended closure. With the multiple announcements for closures, hopefully Primeval Whirl will return at the beginning in August. For now, guests will have to enjoy other attractions available at Dinoland. Guests can enjoy the thrilling Dinosaur attraction or hop on the TriceraTop Spin!

Four New Holiday Disney Spirit Jerseys Coming This Holiday Season!

This week we got the opportunity to share a sneak peek of the new Holiday Merchandise coming to Walt Disny World this holiday season. This year Santa is bringing us not one, but FOUR brand new Holiday Disney Spirit Jerseys! I know something, or 4 that might be on my Christmas list this year!

First up we have the most traditional looking holiday Spirit Jersey of the season. This one may look similar to last year’s ugly sweater version, but it has a sweet twist! All of the designs are actually holiday themed Disney Snacks! Gingerbread Mickey’s cookies, pops, you name it, dance around the strips of this deliciously adorable jersey. The Logo is written in glittery puffed ink, over gingerbread brown ink to look like a frosted cookie, plus it even has larger glitter that resembles SPRINKLES!!

Four New Holiday Disney Spirit Jerseys Coming This Holiday Season!

Another sweet design is the new candy striped Spirit Jersey! This jersey is a sleek black, which will be perfect for matching with crazy Christmas leggings. The puffed ink logos are done in red and white glitter to resemble Candy Cane like stripes! This is a versatile Spirit Jersey that is sure to be a hit!

This year Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will also get it’s own event special Spirt Jersey! This Jersey has whimsical details that almost remind you of a gingerbread man. The word “Christmas” is spelled out on the back in a variety of different inspirations. The front even has screen printing of some adorable buttons.

Festival of the Holidays in Epcot won’t be left out of the Spirit Jersey fun either! Chip ‘n Dale make an appearance on this wintery blue jersey. They might be up to a bit of mischief though I think those lights are looking to get tangled up soon!

Pepe by José Andrés Boasts Fresh, Quick Spanish Eats

Pepe by José Andrés is already a very popular food truck from the Washington D.C. area and now they have a quick dining spot at Disney Springs featuring many of the same, Spanish-style foods. Two of their most popular sandwiches are the Pollo Frito (featured above) and the Pepito Ternera. The Pollo Frito features freshly breaded chicken, piparra peppers, gem lettuce, aioli, Brava sauce and Sherry dressing. My favorite was the Pepito Ternara which consists of flat iron steak, carmelized onions, cheese and mayo on a thin bread with a light crunch (shown below).

The other sandwich highlights include the B.E.L.T (bacon, egg, lettuce, and tomato) and Bocata de Vegetales (available in Vegan) which are both served on the same delicious bread as the steak sandwich. The Bikini sandwiches are top-of-the-line grilled cheese with the option of ham inside. All of the sandwiches we got to taste had some of the best meat and freshest vegetables of the quick service options at Disney Springs.

In addition to sandwiches, side options include Gazpacho, salad and Patatas Bravas, a spin on the creative potato dish served at Jaleo. The specialty potato chips are topped with aioli and Brava sauce.

Finally, 0ne of my favorites of the afternoon was dessert. Leche Merengada is a unique soft serve option made with lemon zest and topped with cinnamon. You also have the option of swirling it with the seasonal sorbet!

There is also an assortment of beverages including homemade Sangría. Their Sangría is even available in a to-go carafe with stacking cups. All-in-all Pepe is a perfect spot to grab lunch or dinner on the go while not sacrificing taste.

The restaurant is connected to Jaleo and has seating in the front part of the restaurant. Come see what all the hype in D.C. has been about!

Finally, check out Sangria Hour, beginning July 29 daily from 3-6 in Jaleo for small bites and adult beverages.

Amazing New Holiday Experiences Coming To The Walt Disney World Resort

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The holidays will be here before we know it and we got to preview all the amazing holiday experiences coming to the Walt Disney World Resort. Starting November 8th, theme parks and resorts will transform seemingly overnight like magic. They will come to life with fun decor and immersive fun for everyone in the family. Here are some of the dazzling holiday experiences coming soon.

Disney’s the Animal Kingdom

For the first time, Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be fully immersed in the holiday cheer! They will feature all-new festive entertainment, decor, and fun holiday offerings in every land. While the tree out front is amazing I’m glad to see the holiday festivities extend inside the park as well.

New! Discovery Island

Right when guests enter Animal Kingdom and head into Discovery Island they will be greeted with some holiday magic. During the day, life-sized animal puppets will be out and about walking around with villagers who call Discovery Island home. During the night time hours rooftop luminaries in animal shapes and bird lanterns will bring a beautiful glow to the island.

New! Tree of Life

After the sun sets the Tree of Life will transform with wintery images and a holiday music score. The Tree itself will continue to twinkle in between these festive shows.

Guests get ready for a rocking holiday over at Dinoland U.S.A. The “Holiday Hoopla Dance Party With Chip ’n Dale” is sure to be a fun time! Also throughout Dinoland characters will get into costume and decorate their personal photo spots!

Magic Kingdom Park

Disney’s Magic Kingdom is always a winter wonderland and this year is no exception! The Dream Lights will return to Cinderella’s Castle along with other beautiful decorations down Main Street. Holiday-themed treats, decor and even new ride overlays will be part of the experience of this festive park.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will also be returning and tickets can be found here. The party is on select nights from November 8th- December 22nd. This is a hard ticket event separate from a regular park day ticket.

New! Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks

There’s a brand new fireworks show coming to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks will be hosted by Minnie Mouse herself! This special offering will invite guests to come together and celebrate the heartfelt moments of the Christmas season.

New! Enhanced Attractions

Not only will guests get a brand new fireworks show but new holiday-themed ride overlays as well. During Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party select Magic Kingdom attractions will have extra festive enhancements fit for a celebration. The Mad Tea Party, Tomorrowland Speedway, Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, and Space Mountain will all add some jolly holiday cheer.

With so much extra coming to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party it’s sure to be the go-to event of the season!

Epcot

The Epcot Festival of the Holidays – presented by AdventHealth will return this year on November 29th. This festive festival will include live music, spirited storytellers, seasonal decor, and delicious holiday eats!

The Candlelight Processional

Guests can enjoy the return of the beloved holiday storytelling of a the Christmas story, the Candlelight Processional. This amazing tradition features a 50-piece orchestra, mass choir, and a celebrity narrator. Returning narrators are Neil Patrick Harris, Whoopi Goldberg, and Pat Sajak. It was announced that Lisa Ling will be joining this years lineup.

Holiday Kitchens

Recipes from from around the world will be scattered throughout the world showcase. Twelve specialty kitchens will serve up some delicious dishes from the different countries.

Sunset Season’s Greeting

The dazzling show down Sunset Boulevard will be coming back this holiday season. Complete with projection show on the Tower of Terror, this nighttime transformation is joyful and full of fun music and lights. This is a must-see during the holiday season and the Disney friends shown bring it all back with amazing Christmas cheer.

Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!

The festive firework spectacular Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! is also returning! Guests can enjoy an adventure to the North Pole with some beloved Disney characters. This show features amazing projections, special effects, and some Christmas music all in one amazing show!

Disney Springs

Disney Springs will once again dazzle this holiday season with sparkling lights, whimsical decor, and delicious treats. The Christmas Tree Trail is back with over a dozen Disney themed Christmas trees. Make sure to pick up the latest Disney merchandise while you’re out! The preview for the new holiday merchandise was breathtaking.

Killer Klowns from Outer Space house return for Halloween Horror Nights 2019

Metro Goldwyn Mayer’s (MGM) “Killer Klowns from Outer Space” lands at this year’s “Halloween Horror Nights” in all-new chilling mazes at Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood – bringing together the most twisted scenes and ghastly gags from the popular horror sci-fi film at the nation’s premier Halloween events.

Based on the cult 1980s film favorite, the “Killer Klowns from Outer Space” mazes will transport guests to the sleepy small town of Crescent Cove, taken over by a pack of murderous clown-like creatures. Guests will be lured by the sweet smell of cotton candy and ice-cream and find themselves in an otherworldly circus tent where they’ll come face-to-face with the crazed klowns and their sinister, side-splitting antics. As they make their way through the Big Top Space Ship, guests will witness diabolical klowns making cotton candy cocoons from unsuspecting victims and will realize the joke’s on them as they are next to become the gooey snack. From one shrieking klown to the next, the mazes will lead guests through the doomed community of Crescent Cove to an eerie amusement park closed for the season. Trapped in a terrifying funhouse full of killer klowns, guests will be left screaming as there’s no stopping this twisted three-ring circus.

Universal Studios’ “Halloween Horror Nights” is the ultimate Halloween event. For more than 25 years, guests from around the world have visited “Halloween Horror Nights” to become victims inside their own horror film. It’s Almost The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year At Disneyland Resorts

Beginning November 8th until January 6th, Disneyland will be getting into the holiday spirit in the only way it knows how. Completely decking the halls (and the walls and everything in between). When it comes to Disneyland they go all out; with holiday-themed treats, jolly entertainment, and merry merchandise.

They even transform Sleeping Beauty’s Castle into a winter wonderland. Once the sun sets you can enjoy the “Believe …in Holiday Magic” fireworks display and the “A Christmas Fantasy” Parade. Select attractions even get a special Yuletide transformation, with the “It’s a Small World” Holiday and “Haunted Mansion” Holiday.

Next, if you take a stroll over to Disney California Adventure Park you can see what the holiday season means all over the world with multicultural food and fun at Festival of Holidays. This includes Christmas, Hanukkah, Diwali, Kwanzaa and Three Kings’ Day.

Disney California Adventures also has attractions with festive transformations, this includes “Mater’s Jingle Jamboree” and “Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl”.

Additionally, World of Color – Season of Light” will sparkle with its holiday-themed spectacular of lights, lasers, water, fire and hundreds of fountains bringing animation to life.

Pottery Barn Kids just released an It’s a Small World collection!

Pottery Barn Kids teamed up with Disney to create an adorable eight-piece collection inspired by one of the most famous Disney attractions. The beloved ride is filled with children and animals from all around the world which makes it a perfect theme for a nursery or children’s room.

We all know the charming boat ride’s most (in)famous feature is the song. I am sure it’s stuck in your head now!

The collection includes a super-soft baby blanket ($39.59), printed rug ($399-$699), swaddle set ($49.59), fitted crib sheet ($34), themed mobile ($59), and wooden, old-fashioned building blocks ($69). Each piece features a colorful theme with geometric shapes taken directly from It’s a Small World.

New York City Council Votes To Name Street After Stan Lee In The Bronx

New York City Council Votes To Name Street After Stan Lee In The Bronx. Stan Lee based most of his comics on characters that called New York City their home. Most famously your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, who is arguably Lee’s most iconic character from his decades of work in comics.

In honor of his legacy and the love he held for New York City, a motion was put forward to name a street, located in The Bronx, after the comic book legend. Much to Marvel Fans delight, the proposal passed on Tuesday and is currently awaiting the signature of Mayor Bill de Blasio.

According to the New York Post, University Avenue between Brandt Place and West 176th Street will be co-named “Stan Lee Way” under a bill passed by lawmakers codifying the moniker and 85 other honorary street names.

That specific location is not far from home for Stan Lee. Lee lived at 1720 University Place for many years. He also went to school in the Bronx at DeWitt Clinton High School. Stan Lee passed away on November 12, 2018 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after suffering from cardiac arrest caused by respiratory and congestive heart failure.

Once Mayor Bill de Blasio signs the proposal the street will be given the honorary name “Stan Lee Way”. Marvel fans are also petitioning for a statue of Stan Lee to be erected in New York City to honor the late comic book legend. The petition on Change.org currently has 128,000 signatures and is looking to garnish 150,000 to convince the City to approve this motion.

Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge Coming to Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World will soon welcome a new resort and the 16th Disney Vacation Club property called Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge.

This deluxe resort will house more than 900 rooms including DVC villas and it also has a great location. It is currently being constructed on the former site of Disney’s River Country.

Disney’s River Country was the very first waterpark at Walt Disney World. River Country opened in 1976 and closed permanently in 2005. WDW fans always wondered what happened on the abandoned island in the middle of Bay Lake, but we will soon see what we’ve been missing when Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge opens in 2022.

This hotel will be in the Magic Kingdom Resort Area which leads us to believe you will be able to utilize boat transportation to and from the Magic Kingdom when staying at this resort.

The new resort will be nature-inspired and nestled in between the Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Terri Schultz, the Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Disney Vacation Club, stated, “ This resort experience will be a celebration of Walt Disney’s lifelong love and respect for nature, with some fun and even surprising accommodation types that families will find irresistible.”

Demolition of River Country and construction for Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge are already underway. You can even spot some fencing and building materials if you walk towards the site on your next trip.

Jingle bell, jingle BAM! We were treated to an incredible sneak peek of the amazing things coming to the Walt Disney World Resort this holiday season, including all of the fabulous Disney Holiday Merchandise! This year’s collections include Farmhouse Mickey, and Disney Holiday Snacks!! Yup, a snack themed collection, I’m as excited as you are!

This year we can look forward to an entire collection of holiday Spirit Jerseys, Loungefly bags, and ears! Of course there are plenty of new ornaments, pins, and collectibles to enjoy too.

Everyone of course loves the holiday Minnie ears! There are three gorgeous new pairs for this year’s holiday season, a Peppermint Swirl Candy, Farmhouse, and Gingerbread!! I am loving that there are two treat inspired Minnie ears!

There are some adorable bags headed our way this holiday season too! We got to check out the two new Loungefly mini backpacks, and a new Festival of the Holidays exclusive bag! The Santa Mickey backpack is VELVET too!

The glass bulb ornaments this year are a real delight. There is a variety of multi-colored tear drop bulbs, in addition to a tinsel Mickey shaped ball, and an adorable ball topped with a Christmas tree for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas.

Fabulous Disney Holiday Merchandise Revealed At Disney's Christmas In July

The Disney Holiday Merchandise will feature three new holiday MagicBands this season, a regular parks edition, a Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party edition, and a Festival of the Holidays edition.

Lots of new pins will make their debut this year too!

Remember I said there were four new Spirit Jerseys? Well here they are!
