It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The holidays will be here before we know it and we got to preview all the amazing holiday experiences coming to the Walt Disney World Resort. Starting November 8th, theme parks and resorts will transform seemingly overnight like magic. They will come to life with fun decor and immersive fun for everyone in the family. Here are some of the dazzling holiday experiences coming soon.
Disney’s the Animal Kingdom
For the first time, Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be fully immersed in the holiday cheer! They will feature all-new festive entertainment, decor, and fun holiday offerings in every land. While the tree out front is amazing I’m glad to see the holiday festivities extend inside the park as well.
New! Discovery Island
Right when guests enter Animal Kingdom and head into Discovery Island they will be greeted with some holiday magic. During the day, life-sized animal puppets will be out and about walking around with villagers who call Discovery Island home. During the night time hours rooftop luminaries in animal shapes and bird lanterns will bring a beautiful glow to the island.
New! Tree of Life
After the sun sets the Tree of Life will transform with wintery images and a holiday music score. The Tree itself will continue to twinkle in between these festive shows.
New! Dinoland U.S.A.
Guests get ready for a rocking holiday over at Dinoland U.S.A. The “Holiday Hoopla Dance Party With Chip ’n Dale” is sure to be a fun time! Also throughout Dinoland characters will get into costume and decorate their personal photo spots!
New! Pandora- The World of Avatar
Get ready for an out-of-this-world holiday experience over in Pandora! Seasonal cheer and festive holiday decor will be featured not only at Pongu Pongu but throughout the land. Vintage pieces from Earth will be paired with handcrafted materials that are native to Pandora.
Magic Kingdom Park
Disney’s Magic Kingdom is always a winter wonderland and this year is no exception! The Dream Lights will return to Cinderella’s Castle along with other beautiful decorations down Main Street. Holiday-themed treats, decor and even new ride overlays will be part of the experience of this festive park.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will also be returning and tickets can be found here. The party is on select nights from November 8th- December 22nd. This is a hard ticket event separate from a regular park day ticket.
New! Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks
There’s a brand new fireworks show coming to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks will be hosted by Minnie Mouse herself! This special offering will invite guests to come together and celebrate the heartfelt moments of the Christmas season.
New! Enhanced Attractions
Not only will guests get a brand new fireworks show but new holiday-themed ride overlays as well. During Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party select Magic Kingdom attractions will have extra festive enhancements fit for a celebration. The Mad Tea Party, Tomorrowland Speedway, Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, and Space Mountain will all add some jolly holiday cheer.
With so much extra coming to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party it’s sure to be the go-to event of the season!
The Epcot Festival of the Holidays – presented by AdventHealth will return this year on November 29th. This festive festival will include live music, spirited storytellers, seasonal decor, and delicious holiday eats!
The Candlelight Processional
Guests can enjoy the return of the beloved holiday storytelling of a the Christmas story, the Candlelight Processional. This amazing tradition features a 50-piece orchestra, mass choir, and a celebrity narrator. Returning narrators are Neil Patrick Harris, Whoopi Goldberg, and Pat Sajak. It was announced that Lisa Ling will be joining this years lineup.
Recipes from from around the world will be scattered throughout the world showcase. Twelve specialty kitchens will serve up some delicious dishes from the different countries.
The cookie stroll is also returning! This was a favorite of mine from last year and it seemed to be a hit. There’s a new batch of cookies being served and we got a first hand look!
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Sunset Season’s Greeting
The dazzling show down Sunset Boulevard will be coming back this holiday season. Complete with projection show on the Tower of Terror, this nighttime transformation is joyful and full of fun music and lights. This is a must-see during the holiday season and the Disney friends shown bring it all back with amazing Christmas cheer.
Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!
The festive firework spectacular Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! is also returning! Guests can enjoy an adventure to the North Pole with some beloved Disney characters. This show features amazing projections, special effects, and some Christmas music all in one amazing show!
Disney Springs will once again dazzle this holiday season with sparkling lights, whimsical decor, and delicious treats. The Christmas Tree Trail is back with over a dozen Disney themed Christmas trees. Make sure to pick up the latest Disney merchandise while you’re out! The preview for the new holiday merchandise was breathtaking.
Ultimate Christmas Package
