Disney Springs’ The Ganachery Now Offers a Chocolate Maleficent Pinata

Chocolate Malificent Pinata

If you’re a chocolate-lover and you’ve been to Disney Springs, then you’ve probably noticed The Ganachery. Home to the sweet temptation of all our chocolate dreams-come-true, they boast a number of unique eats that include specialty truffles, house-made s’mores, character-themed chocolate lollipops, various chocolate bars, and more. The reason we’re heading there this fall? Chocolate pinatas.

Disney Springs' The Ganachery Now Offers a Chocolate Maleficent Pinata

Pinatas are typically not edible, so the idea of a waste-free candy-containing-candy version is more than charming. Although they’ve released Chocolate Skull Pinatas and Mickey Mummy Pinatas already for this upcoming Halloween, the opening of the new Maleficent movie has brought on a new version of the whackable treat: the Chocolate Maleficent Pinata. Decorated with a green face and her signature horns, this pinata will definitely have you feeling like you’re hitting the Mistress of Evil herself.

Disney Springs' The Ganachery Now Offers a Chocolate Maleficent Pinata

Each pinata comes with its own miniature mallet and is made of 65% dark chocolate. Yum! As for what’s inside, it’s a mystery. We’re told there are sweet treats inside the pinata, but until she’s cracked open there’s no real clue as to what they could be. The safe bet would be something chocolatey!

The Pinata costs $28 and is currently available at The Ganachery down in Disney Springs. We love seeing all the creative treats they come up with, and when those come along with an outlet for our frustrations (just whack that anger out with some chocolate), we’re doubly intrigued! Sounds like it’s time for some chocolate!

Reimagined Twilight Zone Tower of Terror Attraction at Disneyland Paris

A whole new dimension of thrills has dropped as the reimagined The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror has landed at Walt Disney Studios Park, Disneyland Paris! Bringing new three new storylines, chills and thrills to one of Disneyland Paris’ most popular attractions! Find out more here as Tom Fitzgerald, Senior Creative Director at Walt Disney Imagineering reveals the reimaging with Disney Parks Blog!
Reimagined Twilight Zone Tower of Terror Attraction at Disneyland Paris

How has the storytelling of Twilight Zone Tower of Terror been central to making this attraction a Disney Park special?

Tom Fitzgerald stated that guests are immersed into an episode of the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror the minute they step foot into the attraction. From entering the Library and learning about the backstory, they themselves have now entered the Twilight Zone. Tom Fitzgerald then said that the “Imagineers have expanded the storyline, with a new story thread and ride sequences that offer more chills and thrills for this classic attraction”. Please note that this version of the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is only at Disneyland Paris!

Reimagined Twilight Zone Tower of Terror Attraction at Disneyland Paris

Why reimagine the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror experience now?

According to Tom, the idea of reimagining the attraction began many years ago at “Disney’s Hollywood Studios Park at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, when Imagineers created new ride profiles for the existing attraction”. However, Imagineers at Disneyland Paris extended this by “not only adding new, more thrilling ride profiles but adding new story sequences that extend the original story”.

What enhancements to the storyline can guests expect in this new experience?

The television sequences in the Library which featured a group of characters has been taken one step further, by focusing on the young girl becoming a “starring character on the ride, warning us not to cross over into the Twilight Zone. When we fail to heed her warning, thrills follow!” The Imagineers at Disneyland Paris have also added “new illusions, media sequences, and audio soundtracks to create not one, but three different show and ride sequences for the attraction”.

What was the biggest challenge you faced in creating new storylines?

“It’s always a challenge to go back into a classic attraction and make changes. But advances in technology and storytelling made it hard to resist revisiting, and building on the original storyline and show”, said Tom.

What are you most excited for guests to experience?

The reimagined Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disneyland Paris has received incredible reactions from guests, with the new storylines becoming iconic for fans which is “great fun”.

First Look At The New Scat Cat Club At Disney’s French Quarter

As you enter the brand new Jazz club you’re greeted by a full service bar. Behind that is the live performance and some intimate seating. You can order drinks and some light bites before sitting and enjoying some tunes.

The menu features “Big Easy” delicacies like Mardi Gras Mac and Cheese, Crawfish Étouffée, and Bayou Brisket Sliders. Along with these delicious bites you can enjoy some Southern-inspired specialty cocktails.

First Look At The New Scat Cat Club At Disney’s French Quarter

Between the good food and fun music this looks like an amazing new way to spend a night in. So if you’re looking for some swinging Jazz and themed atmosphere make sure to check out this all-new Scat Cat Club at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter.

The French Quarter’s New Scat Cat’s Club Café Opens and Debuts Three New Beignet Flavors

Port Orlean’s French Quarter is a popular resort not only for it’s fun theming and quaint scenery but it’s also famous for its New Orleans style beignets. The French Quarter recently moved their famous beignets from their food court to the all new Scat Cat’s Club Café. The new café is right next door to the food court but now is just a place for beignets and some coffee.

The French Quarter’s New Scat Cat’s Club Café Opens and Debuts Three New Beignet Flavors

The Scat Cat Club Café

The Scat Cat Club Café has a nice atmosphere and a couple spots to sit and relax. They serve some coffee that is popular in Louisiana called Chicory coffee plus traditional coffee and teas. Jazz decorations fill the walls and is the running theme in the café.

The French Quarter’s New Scat Cat’s Club Café Opens and Debuts Three New Beignet Flavors

The beignets have also been moved to the Scat Cat Club Café. You can still get the choice of three or six traditional beignets or a chose of some new specialty flavors. The brand new specialty flavors are raspberry, chocolate, and cinnamon sugar toppings. The specialty beignets are $2.99 each or a snack credit on the Disney Dining Plan.

The French Quarter’s New Scat Cat’s Club Café Opens and Debuts Three New Beignet Flavors

The Chocolate Beignet

All of the specialty beignets are the traditional Mickey-shaped beignets but have a different topping. For the Chocolate Beignet you get a chocolate sauce and some Mickey head sprinkles. The chocolate added a nice touch to the sweetness of the fried dough of the beignet without being too overpowering or sweet.

The Raspberry Beignet

The French Quarter’s New Scat Cat’s Club Café Opens and Debuts Three New Beignet Flavors

Like the Chocolate Beignet the Raspberry has a light drizzle of raspberry sauce and is covered with Mickey-shaped sprinkles. This was probably my least favorite of the three. I’m just not that big a fan of raspberry and while it was only drizzled on top it seemed pretty strong.

The Cinnamon Sugar Beignet

The French Quarter’s New Scat Cat’s Club Café Opens and Debuts Three New Beignet Flavors

This was my favorite of the three new specialty beignets. The Cinnamon-Sugar Beignet was so delicious. It brought back memories of eating fried dough at the fair. I would definitely order this one again. It was so good when it was nice and warm. All three of these new beignets are $2.99 each or a dining plan credit as stated above. You can also still get the traditional powdered sugar beignets three for $4.99 or six for $8.49 plus tax.

The French Quarter’s New Scat Cat’s Club Café Opens and Debuts Three New Beignet Flavors

Make sure to check out the new Scat Cat Club Café next time you’re in Walt Disney World. I really love that they separated the beignets from the rest of the food court and the café is nicely done.
