Disney is Making A Live-Action “Lilo & Stitch” For Disney+

Stitch

Stitch

Exciting news! Disney is making a live-action version of Lilo & Stitch exclusively for Disney+. The 2002 animated film was a huge hit for Disney and introduced Stitch to movie audiences. Since then, Stitch has grown to be a fan-favorite character and quite popular at Disney Parks.

We hear that the production of the Lilo & Stitch movie is set to begin in Fall 2020 in Hawaii. The remake will be a hybrid of live-action and CGI for the alien characters. Fans of the animated movie will be delighted to hear that the original voice of Stitch, Chris Sanders, might return to voice his character for the Disney+ movie.

Mike Van Waes wrote the script for the live-action Lilo & Stitch movie. Studio executives Zoe Kent and Louie Provost are in charge of this movie’s production. There’s no director attached to the project yet, but Disney will announce one once they have completed their search. Both Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich will produce this movie. They last worked on the 2019 Aladdin movie and are currently working on an Inspector Gadget movie for Disney+.

So far we have seen this brief synopsis for the live-action Lilo & Stitch remake:

The story is about the bond formed between a lonely island girl named Lilo and a dog-like alien named Stitch, who is engineered to be a force of destruction.

It’ll certainly be interesting to see how Stitch will look in a live-action movie. No word yet on what other alien characters are joining, but we hope to see Jumba and Pleakley. This movie will be a great addition to the Disney+ library of original content.

What do our followers think? Are you excited to see the live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch coming soon?

Secret Identity and Super Powers Are Needed To Work at Disney’s Avengers Campus

Marvel

Marvel

Avengers Assemble! With 23 films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), a wide variety of superheroes and supervillains have been introduced to movie audiences. Since these Marvel heroes are so popular, Disney is currently constructing Marvel-themed lands at three of their Disney Parks. So far they’re set to open an Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure, Disneyland Paris, and Hong Kong Disneyland. Each location will treat their Marvel-themed land like a superhero outpost based on three different continents. The first Avengers Campus is set to open at Disney California Adventure in Summer 2020. But what does it take to work there? To work for the Avengers, Disney is looking for some new super-powered recruits!

The process for job candidates to apply to Avengers Campus is certainly amusing. Disney hired a 35-member Avengers Campus team after a unique application process. Their task is to work with Walt Disney Imagineering to both prepare the attractions for opening day and to train Cast Members who will work at Avengers Campus.

Application Process Required Superhero Identities

These candidates had to complete a mix of team-building exercises and creative projects. For instance, they had to create a superhero identity, powers, and character biography to help stand out in the interview process. It was an opportunity to have job applicants show off both their personality and creativity. This unique job application process gave candidates the chance to show why they wanted to work in a Marvel-themed land. After all, the Marvel Universe is filled with beloved comic book characters and tales to astonish!

Some of the team-building exercises they worked on dealt with MCU trivia knowledge and puzzle-solving. What’s fun is they can call Spider-Man their coworker! It fits in this themed land since they are working for the Avengers. Who knew it could be this fun to be working for the Avengers?!

Stay tuned for news in the future on updates for Disney’s California Adventure’s Avengers Campus.

Rick Moranis May Come Out of Retirement for 'Honey, I Shrunk the Kids' Reboot

Rick Moranis May Come Out of Retirement for ‘Honey, I Shrunk the Kids’ Reboot. According to The DisInsider, Disney has approached actor Rick Moranis about joining the cast of ‘Shrunk‘, a new sequel of the popular film series ‘Honey, I Shrunk the Kids‘.

Though Disney has approached Moranis, it is currently unknown if the actor has signed on to the project, or is simply considering the offer at the moment. Rick Moranis would reprise his role as Wayne Szalinski, who accidentally shrunk his children and two of his neighbors children in the famous original film released in 1989.

Josh Gad (Frozen) is the only known casting choice at the moment and will play the grown up version of Wayne’s son, Nick Szalinski, for the new film. Shrunk is set to have a theatrical release (to be announced at a later time), and will not premiere on Disney+ as previously believed. Shrunk will begin filming some in Spring 2020.

‘Indiana Jones 5’ Is Confirmed To NOT Be A Reboot

'Indiana Jones 5' Is Confirmed To NOT Be A Reboot

‘Indiana Jones 5’ Is Confirmed To NOT Be A Reboot. During to 2020 BAFTA’s, BBC News spoke with Lucasfilm President, Kathleen Kennedy about Star Wars, The Studio, and the new Indiana Jones film set to begin filming very soon. Kennedy was asked if the sequel would be a reboot for the franchise, or a continuation of Indy’s story, as presented by Harrison Ford.

Kathleen shared that the film will not be a reboot, but will continue with Indy as we know him. “Harrison Ford will be involved. He can’t wait,” Kennedy shared with BBC News.

Harrison Ford himself had said previously that “Nobody is going to be Indiana Jones,” Ford stated when asked about the potential of a successor to the role. “Don’t you get it? I’m Indiana Jones. When I’m gone, he’s gone. It’s easy.”

Director Stephen Spielberg seconded the actor and firmly stated, “There is only going to be one actor playing Indiana Jones and that’s Harrison Ford.”

Disney Chairman, Alan Horn, put the final nail in the coffin of the rumor that Harrison was being replaced by sharing, “It’s rare to have such a perfect combination of director, producers, actor and role, and we couldn’t be more excited to embark on this adventure with Harrison and Steven.”

The currently untitled Indiana Jones 5 is set to premiere in theaters July 10, 2021. Be sure to check back here at Chip and Co. for all things Lucasfilm!

Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy Says Next ‘Star Wars‘ Film Will Be Directed By A Woman. BBC News recently spoke with Lucasfilm President, Kathleen Kennedy, on the red carpet for the BAFTA Awards and asked if Kennedy still had plans to hire a female director for a future Star Wars featured film. Kennedy was quick and happy to respond with a resounding “Absolutely!”

“We’ve got two or three fantastic women working with Star Wars,” Kennedy said, “And we just brought in Deborah Chow who is doing the Obi-Wan series.” When asked about a female director coming soon to Star Wars, Kennedy says, “Oh absolutely. Without question.”
