The 20th Century Studios feature film “The Call of the Wild” is a family must see. This live action feature film is the first of this kind from director, Chris Sanders.
The film is an adaptation of the classic 1903 American novel by John London. The feature definitely delivers on heart. The creators did a fantastic job on making the film feel really timeless among the historical elements.
The look of the film is quite brilliant as well. The technology the creators used for all the dogs in the film looks incredible. Especially for the CGI used for Buck, that was used in juxtaposition with actor, Terry Notary. The swift movements of Buck mushing across the icy lakes were captured so well.
Harrison Ford as the lead did not disappoint. Seeing his character develop and grow just like Buck really tugged at the heart strings. Dan Stevens was great as an antagonist. It’s rare to see Stevens in this kind of role, but you can really tell that he had a great time portraying a villain type. French actor, Omar Sy, also delivered a great performance.
Overall, The Call of the Wild is a truly heartwarming, coming of age story. With the incredible acting and imagery, this film is not to be missed. If you like stories of growth, inspiration, and perseverance, this film is for you. We would urge all families to go see this film!
The Call of the Wild will be in theaters on February 21, 2020.
