The Flavors of Florida Event at @DisneySprings is about to begin, and we’re doing our part by giving praise to the almighty Florida Key Lime! Our July Limited Edition flavor is a brand new release, the Key Lime Chocolate Chip Cookie! Imagine our beloved Vanilla Bean Cookie Dough infused with Florida Key Lime Juice. Then covered with Chocolate Chips and our special Key Lime Pie Crumbs. Full disclosure, my absolute favorite Florida-specific dessert is the chocolate-dipped frozen Key Lime Pie on a stick. So we’re paying tribute! ⁣⁣⁣⁣This Cookie is AVAILABLE TODAY and every day this month in Gideon’s at @EastEndMkt and Gideon’s at @DisneySprings! Limited Edition items will sell out each day, so there is a limit of two per paying guest.⁣⁣ The earlier you arrive, the better your chances of seeing it in stock! ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

⁣⁣⁣⁣CAKE! We’re continuing our Key Lime obsession with cake by bringing back one of your favorites, the Key Lime Pie Cake! This 3-layer Vanilla Key Lime Cake has a tangy Key Lime Cream Cheese Frosting and our house-made graham cracker crust accents. This gem will be available by the slice every weekend at the East End Market location and every single day in Gideon’s at Disney Springs! ⁣⁣⁣⁣Did You Know?: Florida legend tells us that the key lime was initially given to early Spanish explorers. By a pod of beautiful, raven-haired mermaids they called “Las Agrias.” Years later, Florida fishermen introduced the world to Key Lime Pie.

We will be headed to Disney Springs today and trying out the new cookie and also the new cake. Obviously, we will give you all an update on how delicious the new snacks are. I can tell you we are excited for Flavors of Florida and will be visiting Disney Springs quite a lot in the weeks to come.

Tron Lightcycle Run Crane has been removed

Tron Lightcycle Run Crane

Tron Lightcycle Run Crane has been removed as progress is being made. We bring you a construction update as the highly anticipated coaster in the Magic Kingdom is getting closer to completion! We can see the coaster itself really taking shape! You can now clearly see the new blue netting almost finished being installed. Along with the lights on the dome. Furthermore, the giant crane that has towered over the Magic Kingdom landscape has been removed.

With the crane being removed, and the dome almost finished, what can we look forward to? I would think you should see the outside area being completed next since we cannot see inside the building to know how far along the show building is. Moreover, we would hope they start fixing the train tracks for the Walt Disney World Railroad.

Tron Lightcycle Run Crane

For those unfamiliar with TRON or the ride; the first TRON attraction debuted at Shanghai Disneyland when the park opened in 2016. The ride named “TRON Lightcycle Power Run” is a roller coaster adventure through a semi-enclosed structure in Tomorrowland, Shanghai Disneyland. However, its official name for the Magic Kingdom is Tron Lightcycle Run!

With the removal of Tron Lightcycle Run Crane, how long before we see the Train reopen? I personally am hoping prior to the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary on Oct 1st.

S’mores Cupcake Returns to Sprinkles in Disney Springs

S’mores Cupcake from Sprinkles in Disney Springs

Nothing says “summer” quite like S’mores, and nothing says “dessert” quite like a Sprinkles cupcake. This is why the latest flavor from Sprinkles may be the ultimate summer sweet! This limited-edition flavor S’mores Cupcake will bring back all your best childhood memories of campfire delights while ushering in new memories of the happiest place on earth.

This cupcake starts with a Belgian dark chocolate cake, a graham cracker crust on the bottom, bittersweet ganache in the center, and toasted marshmallow frosting to top it all off. Something about that golden top is making me want to grab a bag of marshmallows even as I sit here typing. The crunchy addition of the graham cracker on the bottom will make for an exciting texture too. Cupcakes may not always be the most adventurous treat at Walt Disney World, but Sprinkles challenges that narrative. They bring innovative flavors to their bakery every season!

Other delectable flavors currently available at Sprinkles bakery in Disney Springs include Banana Dark Chocolate Cupcake, Black and White Cupcake, Chocolate Marshmallow Cupcake, and Red Velvet Cupcake. If chocolate isn’t your thing, I can certainly recommend the Salty Caramel Cupcake or the Vanilla Cupcake. Gluten-free and vegan options are also available. Cupcakes are between $4.95 and $5.95 each, or $53 per dozen. Don’t forget about local pick-up and delivery!

Cookies and Cream Crêpes Coming to AristoCrêpes in Disney Springs

Cookies and Cream Crêpe from AristoCrêpes in Disney Springs

Some snacks are harder for me to turn down than others. Most of my favorites are French: croissants, macarons, éclairs, pain au chocolats, and of course crêpes. Walt Disney World delivers some pretty great French treats at Epcot in particular, but did you know that Disney Springs also has some interesting versions of French classics? It’s time to head over to AristoCrêpes for the latest American twist! A Cookies and Cream Crêpe is the latest treat on their menu.

Related – Animal Kingdom’s Burudika Band coming to Disney Springs in July

Oreos are a traditionally American cookie and can be notoriously difficult to find in parts of Europe. However, the crunchy and creamy chocolate cookie seems like a natural choice to complement a soft, fresh crêpe. This menu item has a cream filling, chocolate chiffon cake, chocolate sauce, and cookie pieces. That’s something for a sweet tooth!

If the Cookies and Cream flavor doesn’t sound appealing, there are plenty of other crêpe options available. Sweet crêpes include the Banana Chocolate-Hazelnut Crêpe and the Strawberries and Cream Crêpe, which has a touch of Brandy. Or maybe you’re not a fan of crêpes, in which case you can order a Salted Caramel Bubble Waffle with pretzel pieces for a nice crunch or a Strawberry Bubble Waffle made with fresh strawberries. The snacks here never disappoint!

EVIL CREAM HORNS

INGREDIENTS:

  • Nonstick cooking spray
  • 2 sheets of puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten with 1 tbsp of water (for egg wash to brush on pastry)
  • 4 tbsp (or more) or black decorating sugar
  • 2 tsp of plain gelatin
  • 3 scant tbsp of water
  • 2 cups of heavy cream

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Prepare the cones. Fold a 12 inch sheet of aluminum foil in half (6 inch square) then roll into a cone shape. Repeat to make 12 cones. You can also use baker’s pastry cone molds. Spray each with cooking spray.
  • Unfold thawed puff pastry, and cut each sheet lengthwise into six equal strips. Gently stretch a pastry strip until it’s a few inches longer and more pliable. Wrap pastry around a cone, overlapping to prevent gaps in pastry cones; press to adhere dough to ensure attachment during baking. Seal final edge with egg wash. Repeat with remaining dough.
  • Place pastry horns, seam sides down, on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, allowing space between each.
  • Preheat oven to 400F. Brush exposed dough (not the pastry touching paper) with egg wash then sprinkle generously with the black sugar. Place the bowl of a stand mixer in the freezer to chill.
  • Bake for 20 minutes, until golden brown. Remove from oven. Cool pastry on the shaped cones.
  • Prepare the cream. In a small heatproof bowl, combine the gelatin and water. Let stand for 5 minutes. Microwave for 10 seconds to liquefy the gelatin; whisk until smooth.
  • In the chilled mixer bowl, combine the cream, sugar, preserves, and vanilla. Whip the cream on medium-high, slowly drizzling gelatin into the bowl. Whip just until stiff peaks form. If desired, stir in a little purple gel to enhance color of pastry cream. Chill until ready to use.
  • Just before serving, transfer the cream to a pastry bag fitted with a large star tip. Generously fill each horn, then garnish with a blackberry. Serve immediately (filled cream horns quickly become soggy).

Enjoy! And remember you can pre-order your Disney Villains: Devilishly Delicious Cookbook here now!

Winter Summerland Miniature Golf has officially reopened at Walt Disney World! Guest can once again get their Mini Golf on at Walt Disney World!

Enjoy fun in the sun at the Summer Course amid surfboards, sandcastles and ornaments hanging from palm trees. Deck the balls as you putt around peppermint-striped inner tubes, snapping clamshells and a melting snowman. Don’t wake sleeping Santa buried in the sand!

Or putt your way to the North Hole on the Winter Course; but watch out for Squirty the Snowman! This “jolly, happy soul” sprays water at golfers when golf balls pass beneath him. Merry obstacles include giant peppermints, hockey sticks and the drawbridge of a fantastical, melting castle. The courses combine for the last holes, and after sinking the last putt on Hole 18, golfers receive a special message from Santa Claus, courtesy of the WinterNet!

Winter Summerland Miniature Golf has officially reopened at Walt Disney World

Walk-ups are welcome or you may book a tee time for the next day or beyond by calling (407) WDW-PLAY or (407) 939-7529.

Winter Summerland is different from any other miniature golf course you’ve ever experienced. That’s because Santa Claus, himself, designed it!

Late one Christmas Eve, as Santa was flying back to the North Pole, he discovered snow in Florida. After surveying the strange sight, he decided to build a vacation destination for his off-duty elves, a Winter Summerland.

Seeing that the only thing Winter Summerland lacked was a golf course, Santa and his elves divided into 2 camps, one that enjoyed the warm Florida sun and another that preferred the snow and cold of the North Pole. The elves then built 2 distinctly different 18-hole golf experiences: a sand course named “Summer” and a snow course named “Winter.”

Prices are $14 per Adult, $12 per Child (Ages 3–9) (tax not included) Winter Summerland is open from 10am to 10pm.

The film’s fun, upbeat music and characters combined with the humor of Donald Duck marks the first time Disney and Pixar animators have worked on a creative endeavor where characters from both animation studios will be seen together on screen.

Because music is such an integral part of the show, we were also fortunate to tap one of the film’s original composers – the world-renowned Germaine Franco – to produce a “Coco” score unique to “Mickey’s PhilharMagic.”
