According to the filing, Imagineering has submitted a Notice of Commencement for signage work at “it’s a small world,” hinting that some refreshed visuals may soon be arriving at the beloved Fantasyland boat ride.

The permit lists Kentavo as the contractor for the project, a name Disney fans may recognize from other recent signage work around Walt Disney World. Most recently, Kentavo was also tied to new signage at The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure theater in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. As usual, the permit is set to expire in one year, which is standard for this type of filing and does not necessarily mean construction will take that long.

According to Imagineering, the sound team used the audio of a suspended toy slinky being struck as part of the base for the new blaster effect.
