The Electric Mayhem and Camilla the Chicken Reveal Second Song for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets

The road trip to the Electric Mayhem’s biggest concert ever just got a little more “cluck-tastic.” Disney has officially confirmed that the second song on the rotating setlist for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is the classic rock anthem, “Born To Be Wild.”

A Wild New Cover

While the original Steppenwolf track is a staple of rock radio, this version will feature the unique stylings of The Electric Mayhem. In a fun twist, Disney also revealed that Camilla the Chicken will be featured prominently in this version of the song. Knowing Camilla’s history of “performance art” alongside Great Gonzo, fans can expect some high-energy clucking to accompany the iconic guitar riffs as the coaster blasts from 0 to 57 mph.

n

The Growing Setlist

This is the second track revealed during Disney’s week-long “countdown to the concert.” It joins Blur’s “Song 2,” which was announced earlier this week as the first confirmed track. Much like the previous Aerosmith version of the ride, each “limousine” (train) is expected to feature a different high-energy song, giving the attraction immense re-rideability.

The Story So Far

In the new storyline for the attraction, guests are visiting G-Force Records, which is now under new Muppet management (thanks to Scooter’s uncle, J.P. Grosse). While the Electric Mayhem is supposed to be across town at their concert, they are actually stuck in the recording studio jamming with a team of penguin audio engineers.

As Scooter desperately tries to get the band moving, guests board a Muppet-themed limousine to race across Hollywood. The “Born To Be Wild” track is a perfect fit for the “motorcycle” energy of the classic rock era that the Muppets love to parody.

What’s Next?

Disney is continuing to reveal songs “one track at a time” leading up to a major announcement on Thursday, April 16. Rumors are swirling that this announcement will include the full setlist, additional character cameos, and perhaps even that highly anticipated opening date.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is currently on track for a Summer 2026 debut at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Disney Reveals New Details for Asteria Storyliving Community in North Carolina

The dream of living with a touch of Disney magic is getting much closer for North Carolina residents. Today, Disney shared a first look at several key spaces coming to Asteria, the newest “Storyliving by Disney” community currently in development in Pittsboro, just outside of Raleigh.

Related – Artisan Club Opens at Cotino, the First Storyliving by Disney Community

n

At the center of the community will be the Second Star Club, a private club designed by Walt Disney Imagineering. Taking its name from the celestial compass in the 1953 animated classic Peter Pan, the club is envisioned as a “campus of discovery.” Residents will be able to participate in everything from hands-on creative workshops and culinary demonstrations to Disney-inspired fitness classes and guided nature hikes.

n

Today’s reveal highlighted three specific areas that will anchor the Asteria lifestyle:

  • Lost Key Cottage: This is a first-of-its-kind, storybook-inspired home within the community. The bespoke five-bedroom home is themed entirely around Peter Pan, with storytelling elements woven through the architecture. It is designed to be a versatile space for resident gatherings and hosted experiences.
  • Marquet Hall: Serving as the community’s two-story signature restaurant, Marquet Hall will offer both indoor and outdoor seating. Keep an eye on the roof—Imagineers have shared that the weather vane will feature a dusting of “pixie dust” from Tinker Bell herself.
  • Aster Green: This expansive central gathering lawn will be the primary spot for the neighborhood to connect. It is designed to host everything from pick-up soccer games and family picnics to live music and Disney movie nights under the Carolina sky.
n

Asteria is being built within the larger Chatham Park development and is heavily influenced by the nearby Research Triangle. The community’s theme focuses on curiosity and lifelong learning, with subtle nods to other Disney classics like Alice in Wonderland, Bambi, and Beauty and the Beast woven into the landscape.

The community will eventually be home to approximately 4,000 residences, including single-family and multi-family options for all ages, as well as dedicated neighborhoods for adults 55 and better.

While we still have a bit of a wait before move-ins begin, this latest look at the Second Star Club shows that the “Disney difference” is officially heading to the Piedmont.

Entire Teams Eliminated at Marvel and Disney Marketing

The Walt Disney Company has initiated a new wave of layoffs, and emerging reports indicate that Marvel Studios and various marketing departments have been significantly impacted. As the company looks to streamline operations, several specialized teams—including Marvel’s visual development and global digital marketing units—have seen roles consolidated or entire teams eliminated.

Marvel

According to recent reports, several key segments within the marketing and branding divisions have been eliminated. This restructuring has resulted in the dissolution of the entire home entertainment and electronic press kit (EPK) teams. High-level departures include the executive director of global publicity and marketing communications, who oversaw home entertainment, as well as the director of creative content.

The organizational changes also extend to the digital sector, with the senior vice president of global digital marketing and the director of digital marketing both exiting the company. Additionally, the publicity departments saw a reduction of twenty staff members. Significant leadership changes include the departure of the vice president of brand digital marketing and the longtime vice president of creative print services, a veteran who has managed print campaigns for nearly every major studio release over the past quarter-century.

att uVVgRcbgwMXYwGnujoDeDhtDECH byuiJY

Approximately 8% of the workforce at Marvel was affected by the layoffs today, impacting both Marvel Entertainment in New York and Marvel Studios in Burbank. The reductions span nearly every department, including film, television, comics, franchise, legal, and finance. The visual development team was particularly hard-hit; the studio will reportedly move toward a project-based model, retaining only a small core team to oversee outside contractors for future productions.

These cuts are part of a broader workforce reduction at Disney, involving roughly 1,000 employees. In a memo sent to the staff this morning, CEO Josh D’Amaro emphasized that the decision was a difficult necessity to “more effectively manage our resources and reinvest in our businesses.” He noted that the changes are not a reflection of the employees’ contributions or the company’s overall strength, but rather a strategic shift toward a more agile and technologically-enabled workforce.

Phil Collins Joins the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Class

Disney Legend Phil Collins is set to join an elite group of musicians with his induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist this year. While he was previously honored as a member of the legendary band Genesis, this latest induction recognizes his extraordinary individual contributions to music history.

“I’m obviously pleased and honored by this induction; it’s the perfect capstone to a wonderful life in music,” Collins shared. His legacy is particularly storied within the Disney canon, having written and recorded the iconic soundtrack for the 1999 film Tarzan alongside composer Mark Mancina. The project’s standout track, “You’ll Be in My Heart,” not only earned Collins an Academy Award for Best Original Song but also dominated the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart at No. 1 for an incredible 19 weeks.

Demonstrating a unique commitment to the global reach of the film, Collins remarkably recorded the Tarzan soundtrack in six different languages: English, German, Italian, French, Latin American Spanish, and Castilian Spanish. In recognition of his profound impact on the studio’s musical heritage, he was officially inducted as a Disney Legend in 2002.

Phil Collins and Mark Mancina reunited in 2003 to craft the soundtrack for Brother Bear, featuring the upbeat anthem “Welcome.” That same year, Collins stepped into the recording booth for a voice role, playing Lucky in The Jungle Book 2. His creative journey with Disney continued onto the stage in 2006, where he composed original songs and instrumental arrangements for the Broadway adaptation of Tarzan.

The 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame class features several other artists with notable Disney ties. Joining the ranks are Billy Idol, who lent his voice to the Punk-Bots in Disney XD’s Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja, and Queen Latifah, who appeared as Aunt Em in The Muppets’ Wizard of Oz and the bartender “Cha-Cha” in The Country Bears. The induction also honors the late Ed Sullivan, whose legendary variety show served as a frequent stage for Walt Disney and the Muppets.

Fans can catch the 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony when it airs this December on ABC and Disney+.

Universal Epic Universe Begins Trial of New Land-by-Land Access System

Universal Epic Universe Begins Trial of New Land by Land Access System

Universal Testing Portal Entry Scanners at Epic Universe as Capacity Plans Continue to Evolve

Something new is quietly being tested at Universal Epic Universe, and it could play a role in how guests move through the park in the future. According to recent reports and on-the-ground observations, scanners have now been spotted at select portal entrances, including the Dark Universe gateway, with Team Members actively monitoring the setup.

Related: Universal Orlando Resort Prepares for Exciting New Experiences at Universal CityWalk

Right now, the key takeaway is simple and fact-based: Universal is testing entry technology at the portals that connect Celestial Park to the individual lands. Epic Universe was designed with a hub-and-spoke layout, meaning each land connects back to Celestial Park rather than directly to each other. These scanners appear to be tied into systems already in use across Universal Orlando, including facial recognition tied to park tickets and Express access, suggesting a broader operational toolset rather than a one-off test.

As for what this could mean long-term, nothing has been officially confirmed by Universal. However, based on current operations, the testing aligns with the park’s phased capacity approach since opening, where attendance has been carefully managed as the resort ramps up. Installing scanners at portals could support future crowd management strategies, including controlling access into individual lands during peak periods or supporting increased overall capacity as demand grows.

Related: Your Ultimate Guide to Dark Universe at Universal Epic Universe

Universal Epic Universe Begins Trial of New Land by Land Access System

There has also been guest chatter around the possibility of more flexible access models within the park, which would allow for open access to celestial park but require a ticket to enter the lands, but at this point, those ideas remain unconfirmed. What we do know is that Universal is continuing to build out infrastructure that gives them more control over how guests experience Epic Universe, whether that is through smoother entry into lands, better crowd distribution, or future operational changes as the park continues to evolve.

We will be watching closely to see how and when these systems are officially introduced, but for now, consider this another sign that Epic Universe is still very much in its “leveling up” phase.

Set to the enchanting score of “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” from Fantasia, the video leans fully into the magic of the moment. Cast Members can be seen playfully mimicking Sorcerer Mickey’s famous spellbinding gestures as the hat makes its journey through the park. With a little theatrical flair and a lot of Disney charm, the hat glides into place at its new home inside The Magic of Disney Animation, almost as if it floated there by magic itself.

Walt Disney Imagineering Shares Behind the Scenes Video of the Sorcerer Hat Installation

This isn’t just a simple installation, it is a full-on performance. From waving hands to those unmistakable white-gloved Mickey gestures, the whole sequence feels like a love letter to Disney storytelling. It is a clever nod to the original Sorcerer Mickey scene that made the hat legendary in the first place, blending nostalgia with a fresh new chapter for the park.

For longtime fans, seeing the Sorcerer hat back in any form is a pretty big deal. While it may not be towering over the park entrance like it once did, its return inside the Animation Courtyard area gives it a new spotlight while honoring its legacy. And if this video is any indication, Disney is having just as much fun bringing it back as fans are seeing it return.

Josh D’Amaro Confirms Disney Layoffs Are Underway

Disney’s new CEO Josh D’Amaro has confirmed that layoffs are now happening across parts of The Walt Disney Company, following earlier reports that roughly 1,000 jobs could be cut. In a memo sent to employees, D’Amaro said the company has already begun notifying impacted workers as Disney continues reshaping parts of its business in response to industry changes and internal restructuring.

Walt Disney Company CEO Josh D'Amaro

According to the memo, Disney has spent the past several months reviewing ways to streamline operations and build what D’Amaro described as a more agile and technologically enabled workforce. He tied the decision in part to the company’s recently announced unified enterprise marketing and brand organization, suggesting that this latest move is part of a broader effort to reorganize how Disney operates behind the scenes. While he did not specify exactly which divisions are being affected, previous reporting has suggested marketing could be among the hardest hit.

D’Amaro said the cuts are not a reflection of the employees losing their roles or the overall health of the company, but rather part of Disney’s ongoing effort to manage resources and reinvest in the business. He also said Disney plans to support affected employees through the transition with guidance and resources. It is a tough headline for a company built on magic, but this move shows Disney is continuing to make major behind-the-scenes changes as it looks to its next chapter under D’Amaro’s leadership.

Updated Look at Disney's Lakeshore Lodge Construction

Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge Is Starting to Look More Like a Resort and Less Like a Construction Zone

Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is slowly trading scaffolding for storybook vibes as construction continues to move forward at the new Disney Vacation Club resort coming to Walt Disney World. During a recent look at the site, one of the biggest visible changes was the installation of balcony railings on several sections of the main resort buildings. The black vertical railings are now fully in place in a few areas, giving parts of the project a more finished look as crews continue working across the massive lakeside property.

Updated Look at Disney's Lakeshore Lodge Construction

There is still plenty of work happening all around the resort, but progress is picking up in some very noticeable ways. While some sections now have completed balcony railings, other areas still show unfinished balcony bases and active scaffolding. Construction is also moving ahead on the resort’s A-frame cabins and the entrance porte cochere, both of which are beginning to better match the shape and style Disney fans have been watching take form for months. Recent broader looks at the site have also shown continued development on the lazy river, waterfront restaurant space, bus stop area, and the lakeside cabins lining Bay Lake.

Lakeshore Lodge has had quite the winding trail to get here. The project was first announced back in 2018 as Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge before plans were paused during the pandemic. For a while, many fans assumed the project had quietly drifted away, but Disney eventually revived it with permits and a fresh identity.

Related: Hold Onto Your Hats! Big Thunder Mountain Railroad New Upgrades Revealed

Officially reintroduced in 2024 as Lakeshore Lodge, the new resort is set to be inspired by the majesty of nature and the way it has influenced Disney artists over the years. When it opens in 2027, it is expected to become Walt Disney World’s 14th Disney Vacation Club resort, with more than 900 rooms. With railings now going up, painting underway, and more structures taking shape by land, sea, and sky, this long-awaited Bay Lake addition is finally starting to feel very real.
