Sonia Coleman Named Chief Human Resources Officer of the Walt Disney Company, effective April 8, it was announced today by Robert A. Iger, Chief Executive Officer. Coleman, who most recently has served as Senior Vice President, Human Resources for Disney Entertainment and ESPN, succeeds Paul Richardson, who is leaving the company after more than 15 years at Disney.

As Chief Human Resources Officer, Coleman will report directly to Iger and will be responsible for leading Disney’s human resources strategy, global talent acquisition, leadership development, diversity and inclusion, organizational design and cultural development, employee education and development, compensation, and benefits, HR operations and technology, and global security.

“Sonia is widely respected across the company as a gifted leader and strong advocate for our employees,” Iger said. “Her proven expertise leading the human resources function for our general entertainment businesses and ESPN during a period of unprecedented transformation makes her the perfect choice to lead this function company-wide as we implement our new operating structure and position Disney to capitalize on the opportunities ahead. I also want to extend my thanks to Paul Richardson for his many years of service to the company and his contributions to numerous ongoing initiatives, including our Heroes Work Here veterans hiring program.”

Sonia Coleman Named Chief Human Resources Officer of the Walt Disney Company

In her most recent role, Coleman has been responsible for employee development and engagement, recruitment and compensation, organizational development, and diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts for both ESPN and the general entertainment portfolio of businesses at Disney Entertainment, which includes ABC Entertainment, ABC News, ABC Owned Televisions Stations, Disney Branded Television, Disney Television Studios (20th Television, ABC Signature, 20th Television Animation, and Walt Disney Television Alternative), Freeform, FX, Hulu Originals, National Geographic Content, and Onyx Collective.

Prior to that, Coleman served as Senior Vice President, Human Resources for Disney General Entertainment from 2017. She also served as Vice President, Human Resources for the company from May 2016 and in that capacity oversaw HR strategy, change management initiatives, organizational development and engagement strategies for Disney’s Corporate, enterprise and cross-functional employees, and served as the lead HR business partner to the company’s senior corporate executives. She was also responsible for employee relations for the company.

Coleman joined Disney in 2008 as Vice President, Human Resources, Disney Consumer Products, a role she held for eight years. Before Disney, Coleman worked at The Children’s Place from 2004 to 2008, where she held several strategic HR roles; and The Home Depot from 1992 to 2004, where she served as the strategic HR leader during a period of large-scale change and complex organizational transformation.

Coleman has a Bachelor of Science degree in organizational leadership from Chapman University and a Master of Science degree in human resource management from Florida International University.

Disney’s Up for 22 Oscars Comes Away With Two. The 95th annual Acadamy Awards Show that aired on Disney Owned ABC may have been a success, but the night was not as successful for Disney Movies. Up for 22 total Oscars, The Walt Disney Company only came away with a grand total of Two.

Winners last night included Avatar The Way of Water, and Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Tim Burton Unlikely To Return to Work with Disney. Looks like we will never see a Nightmare Before Christmas sequel with Tim Burton involved. He will no longer work with Walt Disney Production after saying some less-than-flattering things about working with the Mouse.

According to Deadline, the director said while attending the Lumière Festival, he talked about his long relationship with Disney, where he began his career as a young animation artist.

He suggested that while occasional, under-the-radar individual projects might find a place at the studio, it was now mainly focused on Marvel, Pixar, and Stars Wars franchises.

Tim Burton Unlikely To Return to Work with Disney

“It’s gotten to be very homogenized, very consolidated. There’s less room for different types of things,” he said, adding he would never do a Marvel movie. “I can only deal with one universe, l can’t deal with a multi-universe.”

Burton said it was unlikely he would be returning to work with Disney any time soon following his experiences on his 2019 live-action reboot of Dumbo.

“My history is that I started out there. I was hired and fired several times throughout my career there. The thing about Dumbo is that’s why I think my days with Disney are done, I realized that I was Dumbo, that I was working in this horrible big circus and I needed to escape. That movie is quite autobiographical at a certain level,” he said.

Happily Ever After Remains the Same for Magic Kingdom Return

The fan-favorite nighttime spectacular Happily Ever After appears to be returning in its original state

Good news Happily Ever After fans! Disney has been recently conducting tests in preparation of the upcoming April 3 return of Happily Ever After, and it appears the show is returning in its original state!

Happily Ever After quickly won the hearts and minds of Disney fans when it replaced the long-running Wishes. Fans where disheartened when Happily Every After was replaced by Disney: Enchantment during the 50th Anniversary Celebration, and were even less enthused after they saw the new show. Disney eventually added a scene featuring Walt and Roy to the beginning of the show, but this change still was not enough to win over fans.

While Disney: Enchantment utilized amazing effects, it lacked the heart and soul of Happily Ever After. Fans complained, and Disney listened-announcing the upcoming return of Happily Ever After earlier this year. The announcement did included indications of updates to the show, however the updates are seemingly focused on incorporating the Main Street U.S.A. projectors that were installed for Disney: Enchantment. The testing provides solid indications that the main show will remain the same, much to delight of fans across the world who have been waiting for the its return since October 2021.

The Today Show reports TikTok user alexafromspace bumped into the star outside of Starbucks and discovered his order contained six shots of espresso over ice. Taken all together, these six shots of expresso add up to 450 mg of caffeine.

For contrast, a typical cup of coffee contains around 95 mg of caffeine, giving you an idea of how massive a caffeine load this drink is. To be fair, we do not know if this is Pedro’s regular order and how long it takes him to drink it. I must admit, asking for 6 shots of espresso over ice does seem to be exactly how I would picture Mando ordering coffee.

Coca-Cola Celebrates Hulu’s 15th Anniversary with New Limited Edition Flavor at Disney World & Disneyland. Coca-Cola has partnered with Disney and Hulu to help celebrate the company’s popular streaming service and its 15th anniversary. What does fun taste like?

On March 12, when Hulu officially turns 15, the brand has a months-worth of content premieres, finales, special promotions, and more in store for the 48 million subscribers as a thank-you for years of loyalty.

Some of the buzzworthy content includes “History of the World, Part II,” “UnPrisoned,” “Boston Strangler,” “Up Here,” “Great Expectations,” and “RapCaviar” to name a few.

Hulu also teamed up with Coke to offer a sweet new limited-time Coca-Cola Freestyle flavor — Hulu Fanta Surprise — a combination of sweet lime and ginger. Plus, it’s green to go with the streaming platform’s primary color scheme.

The new Fanta flavor will be available from March 12 through April 30 in select locations throughout the Disneyland Resort and the Walt Disney World Resort.

“We are incredibly grateful to the millions of subscribers, fans, creators, talent, content partners, advertisers, and Hulugans who have made it all possible, and never stopped having fun along the way,” Hulu President Joe Earley said, in a press release about the 15th anniversary.

Get ready to join Snoopy and Woodstock for an out-of-this-world experience at Kennedy Space Center. It’s a bird…it’s a plane…it’s Snoopy? It’s Snoopy! America’s favorite four-legged cartoon friend and other Peanuts characters will soon be landing at the transformed Universe Theater sponsored by Northrop Grumman at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.

Located in Universe Theater, guests can join Snoopy and Woodstock as they’re called by a Launch Director to assist with the next NASA mission – Artemis. From training for the mission to testing the Orion spacecraft to visiting other planets, guests can go on a sensational, out-of-this-world 20-minute adventure full of history, education and imagination.

“We have been working hard to make sure that our multi-generational appeal extends to our youngest space explorers,” Therrin Protze, COO of Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, said. “This new show will delight guests of all ages as it features the loveable Peanuts characters and Snoopy, who has contributed to the excitement for NASA human spaceflight missions for more than 50 years.”

To enhance the quality of the immersive All Systems Are Go experience, an original score, created exclusively for the show, will showcase an eclectic mix of orchestral, contemporary, and jazz styles. The 300-seat Universe Theater has been updated with screens, lights and integrated laser projectors. Before the show even starts, guests can participate in an interactive experience via their smartphones to reveal hidden space elements and create a unique music sequence.

All Systems Are Go’s original concept, story and music were created by Ella Louise Allaire and Martin Lord Ferguson of the acclaimed Montreal-based production company, Monlove. The duo also served as the show’s executive producers.

The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle Returning in March to Universal Hollywood

The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle are returning to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Hollywood this month!

Celebrate the four Hogwarts houses as they are brought to life in a stunning spectacle of dazzling lights and music. Watch in awe from Hogsmeade village as projections are cast against the majestic backdrop of Hogwarts castle inside The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Exact dates and showtimes have not been announced but guests can check the Alerts section of the official app for nightly showtimes and recommended viewings. In the past, the show was performed every 15-20 minutes in the evenings.
