The Disney-Themed episode of American Idol will air this Sunday
It’s time for the most magical American Idol episode of the year. The Disney-themed episode of American Idol, during which the contestants sing fan-favorite Disney hits, will air Sunday at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on ABC.
Sunday’s episode will feature Halle Bailey performing “Part of Your World” from Disney’s upcoming movie “The Little Mermaid,” as well as a rendition of “When You Wish Upon a Star” by Sara Bareilles.
Earlier this week, the contestants to traveled to Disneyland Resort to prepare for their Disney Night performances. They enjoyed a magical day at Disneyland, including riding some fan-favorite attractions, meeting iconic characters, enjoying favorite snacks, and checking out some Disney merch.
It was a family affair as the five contestants were joined by their moms, in honor of Mother’s Day on Sunday. Not only did they explore both parks with their families, the contestants also had the special opportunity to meet with celebrity mentor and singer-songwriter Sofia Carson for their one-on-one coaching in New Orleans Square at Disneyland park.

Walls Go Up for Epcot’s CommuniCore Hall. CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza, a multi-use facility and outdoor event space, respectively, bring the park’s international festivals to the center of EPCOT. CommuniCore Plaza will have the flexibility to host intimate musical performances
CommuniCore Hall will be a flexible exhibition and gallery space, offering a wide variety of experiences that highlight art, live music, food – complete with a demonstration kitchen – and more. In addition, adjacent to CommuniCore Hall will be a new Mickey & Friends location where you can meet some of your favorite Disney pals.
We got to ride the Disney Monorail and check out all the walls being installed at CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza today. Things are moving much faster now, and progress is being noticed each week we check out what’s new.
World Celebration will offer a beautiful hub divided into several different gardens, with a central planter based on the five-ring EPCOT logo. Filled with ample seating and shade, you’ll be invited to connect with one another and the nature around you in this lush new area. Each of these gardens will have their own identities, and they’ll change along with the festivals throughout the year.
Review: New Guardians of the Galaxy Cookie Blasts off in EPCOT. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 hit theaters last week to positive reviews and had a huge box office return, raking in over $289 million. To celebrate the release of the finale of the trilogy, Disney Eats released a cookie in World Discovery Popcorn stand next to Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind here in Epcot.
$4.00 gets you a sugar cookie with icing and the Nova Corp symbol on it. Unlike the positive reviews of the movie, the cookie does not fair so well. Very generic sugar cookie, soft and ok. The icing is almost as thick as the cookie is and leaves an aftertaste that is not very pleasant.
Overall, fun looking tie-in, and the design is ok. I would buy it if you have someone in your group that has no taste buds. It truly is Gamorrible! Sorry about that, not the best pun in the galaxy.
We decided to make a meal out of it. Throw in a Coke and a Hot Dog and you have … something. I dunno, I am at a loss for words on this lunch. Sometimes ya just have to eat basic food staples of life, nothing wrong with any of it. Sometimes ya just need a hot dog, a Coke, and a cookie.
Review: New Guardians of the Galaxy Cookie Blasts off in EPCOT
In Marvel Studios “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” our beloved band of misfits are looking a bit different these days. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him to defend the universe along with protecting one of their own. A mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.
If you know, you know, these A113 Pixar Pins are for real Pixar fans! Do you know the meaning behind A113? This number is an inside joke and easter egg in every Pixar movie, it comes from the classroom used by graphic design and character animation students at CalArts, have you spotted this number before? If you haven’t, we suggest to go watch your favorite Pixar movie again and see if you can find it!

Muppet Mayhem on Disney+: A Riotous Review. Right off the bat, you need to know that I am and always have been a Muppets fan. I was 4 years old when The Muppet Movie hit theaters, and grew up with the next few movies to come along, The Great Muppet Caper in 1981 I was 6 and The Muppets Take Manhattan in 1984 I was 9.
I have fond memories of sitting around as a child trying to figure out what a clock was, and more importantly what a TV channel was that aired the Muppet Show. I had to check in with my parents on a daily basis, they probably got very sick of me asking when Fozzie Bear was going to be on the TV again.
I was an adult when I rewatched The Muppet Show on DVD, and Kermit and the Gang seemed way more profound and enjoyable in my 20s and 30s. Now, at almost 50, my childhood reared its head again with the new Disney + show “The Muppets Mayhem”, starring Lilly Singh.
The comedy series follows The Electric Mayhem Band — Dr. Teeth on vocals and keyboards, Animal on drums, Floyd Pepper on vocals and bass, Janice on vocals and lead guitar, Zoot on saxophone, and Lips on trumpet — on an epic, music-filled journey to record their first-ever studio album. With the help of a driven young music executive, Nora Gibbs (Singh), the old-school Muppet band comes face to face with the current-day music scene as they try to finally go platinum.
The series was developed by Adam F. Goldberg, Bill Barretta, and Jeff Yorkes based on characters created by Jim Henson. It is written by Adam F. Goldberg (“The Goldbergs”), Bill Barretta (“The Muppets,” “Muppets Haunted Mansion”), and Jeff Yorkes, and the executive producers are Goldberg, Barretta, Michael Bostick, and Kris Eber. Yorkes is a co-executive producer. David Lightbody and I from The Muppets Studio are also executive producers.
Disney + dropped the whole season so it is fun to binge The Muppets again. Each episode runs between 26 and 31 minutes, for a grand total of 10 episodes. Let’s be real for a second, the actual episodes really run 22 minutes with credits.
Muppet Mayhem on Disney+: A Riotous Review
The opening scenes are playful and rather funny. At the end of every episode, you are left with a cliffhanger, real or imagined. The Electric Mayhem band are the true stars of the show, with more in-depth character development that you come to expect from a Jim Henson creation. These aren’t just puppets! They have feelings and emotions, and a backstory.
In fact, without spoiling anything, one major character gets an emotional origin story that a fan of The Muppets will be very happy to see and enjoy the reveal.
The hijinx of the show is true Muppet fashion, with a lean toward humor that younger viewers will not be able to discern. In fact, I would think kids will enjoy the visuals of the show, but older adults will get all the inside jokes. Plus, if you are a music fan this show can do no wrong. With classic and newer artists alike taking the spotlight during episodes.
As for the Humans of the show that is where the only weakness is. Singh, while doing a great performance does not seem at home working with The Mayhem. She feels out of place, even though her character development is an important part of each episode, and she does it well.
The high point of human acting is Tahj Mowry who plays Moog! MOOOOOG! The Mayhem’s super fan and so much more. He feels like he naturally belongs talking with Zoot, or Dr. Teeth. His character is a cornerstone of the show, with a heartwarming story. Taj stands out like Michael Caine did in The Muppets Christmas Carol.
Overall as a fan, this show stands out as exceptional and a true nod to the past, while maintaining a fresh feel. For a band that has been around for what feels like our whole lives, they feel relevant again playing along with special guests and hit artists who show up during every episode.
One last thing we have glossed over is the music itself. Fans of classic rock will find a home watching the show, while fans of new music will find hits popping up randomly. Linda Perry, who you may know from 4 Non Blondes fame, and some huge hits written for other artists like Adele, and Christina Aguilera, just to name a few is the Executive Music producer and wrote the theme song.
The Muppets Mayhem is heartwarming and delightful. If we did a rating system, I would give it 4.8 Kermit Heads out of 5!

HB1305, which requires state inspection of the Walt Disney World Monorail, has been signed by the governor.
Florida Governor Ron Desantis has signed a new Florida law that will require state inspection of the monorails at Walt Disney World resort. The law seems to only target Walt Disney World and has been added to the lawsuit Disney has leveled against the state in response to what Disney is calling retaliation for free speech.
The bill, HB 1305 – Department of Transportation, requires annual inspections of the Walt Disney World monorail system by the Florida Department of Transportation. Prior to the legislation passing, inspections of the monorail system were conducted by Disney. The law also requires monorail operations to be suspended during the time of the inspection, which means the state could suspend monorail operations anytime they deem an inspection as being necessary, at a time convenient to the inspectors employed by the Department of Transportation.

In “Disney Junior Live On Tour: Costume Palooza,” Mickey, Minnie and their pals are getting ready to throw a huge costume party, but mysterious weather keeps interrupting the fun. Disney Reveals Sneak Peek of Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs Coaster, Coming to Hong Kong Disneyland
Hong Kong Disneyland is getting a new Frozen-themed land! Included in the area is a new coaster called Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs. Disney shared a look at the new coaster on Twitter recently.
Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs will be the first Frozen-themed coaster ride. The story is that Oaken himself built the ride and it is powered by Olaf and Sven. The two friends work together to pull the sleighs to the top of the lift hill.
The attraction looks similar to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at Magic Kingdom and Shanghai Disneyland.
