Disney World and AT&T Rolling Out New Character Experiences at Disney World

New character experiences are coming to Walt Disney World guests! AT&T is introducing a new, interactive photo experience for Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort and Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort guests. Disney Character Clicks will create new and meaningful memories for those guests.

Fueled by AT&T 5G, visitors can seamlessly participate in this complimentary digital photo opportunity through the My Disney Experience app in the lobbies of Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort and Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort. Those using a MagicBand, Disney MagicMobile Pass, or Key to the World card can unlock the experience and connect their photos to their Disney account.

Guests have the chance to strike a pose alongside beloved Disney characters, including Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, elegantly attired in their special Disney100 attire to commemorate The Walt Disney Company’s 100th anniversary. Afterward, they can effortlessly download and share these images directly on their social media platforms.

“Disney PhotoPass Service is always looking for new ways to create unique photo experiences for guests to take home cherished vacation memories. Disney Character Clicks combines collaboration and technology to give our guests at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort and Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort a new way to capture memories with some of their favorite characters,” said Dan Hamer-Hodges, director of digital experience of Disney PhotoPass Service.

Among the recent price increases at Walt Disney World, the prices of resort and theme park tours have also increased. Pricing for tours is now date-based rather than a flat rate. While in some cases this might be a better deal for some, for the most part this is another price increase.

Daredevil Born Again Writers and Directors fired by Disney

Variety has officially confirmed that “Daredevil Born Again” is undergoing a significant creative transformation. Marvel Studios’ Disney+ series has recently parted ways with its head writers, Chris Ord and Matt Corman. Currently, the production is in the process of recruiting new writers to give the show a fresh perspective. It’s worth noting that Ord and Corman will retain their titles as executive producers. The Hollywood Reporter first broke the “Daredevil” news.

Furthermore, due to the SAG-AFTRA strike beginning before completing just under half of the 18-episode order for the series, Marvel has also made changes in the directorial lineup for the remaining episodes of the season. While some elements from the already filmed material will be incorporated into future episodes, Marvel is actively seeking to take the show in a different and innovative creative direction.

“Daredevil Born Again” is currently unable to resume full-scale production due to ongoing actor strikes. However, negotiations are underway between the actors and the studios with the hope of reaching an agreement for their return to work. Notably, the Writers Guild of America has recently resolved its strike through a new deal with the studios. This agreement received overwhelming support, with 99% of the guild’s members voting in favor earlier this week. J

Charlie Cox is set to reprise his role as Matt Murdock, also known as Daredevil, in the upcoming series, alongside Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson “Kingpin” Fisk. Notably, the duo previously shared the screen in the Marvel-Netflix “Daredevil” series, which aired from 2015 to 2018. on Bernthal will reprise his role as the Punisher and appear in the series as well.

Marvel Studios’ recent television releases encompass Season 2 of “Loki,” which achieved an impressive 10.9 million views within its initial three days on Disney+.

Looking ahead, the future is bright for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as we anticipate the arrival of shows like “Echo” and “Agatha: Darkhold Diaries” in 2024. The Marvels is set to hit theaters on November 10, 2023. Marvel fans can expect an array of compelling stories and characters to captivate their screens in the coming years.

New Dining Experiences Coming to Downtown Disney

Downtown Disney at the Disneyland Resort is being transformed and new dining experiences are coming to the area! Today Disney shared a look at the latest experiences, including plans for the new Parkside Market, plus a new stage and lawn, and more!

Announcing Plans for Parkside Market!

Plans are underway for Parkside Market, a new, curated collection of diverse culinary concepts brought to life by Levy, with all four offerings under one roof as part of the expansion on the west end. Let’s whet your appetite with a bit more about what offerings are coming to this all-new location!

Seoul Sister is a fast-casual modern eatery that will serve a Korean-forward menu based on bibimbap(Korean rice bowls) with a California twist. Executive Chef Kelly Kim will showcase bold Korean flavors through marinated meats, colorful vegetables and savory sauces over rice, noodles or salad, plus appetizers, an Asian-inspired breakfast menu, and hand-crafted drinks.

Sip & Sonder, from founders Amanda-Jane Thomas and Shanita Nicholas, is a Black women-owned brand that has been recognized as one of the best cafés in L.A. by the Los Angeles Times. Guests in the district can expect to enjoy Sip & Sonder’s signature lattes, as well as fresh treats, frozen drinks and Caribbean-inspired bites.

GG’s Chicken Shop, from Boka Restaurant Group, was founded by James Beard Award-winning restaurateurs Rob Katz and Kevin Boehm, alongside Michelin Star Chef Partner Lee Wolen. Affectionately named after Wolen’s mother Geri, the shop will serve a family-friendly menu of chicken sandwiches, salads, and classic dinner table sides. The first brick-and-mortar GG’s Chicken Shop opened earlier this year in Chicago and this new location in Downtown Disney District will be its first on the West Coast.
A second story bar will be an al fresco spot offering great views to sip signature craft cocktails and mocktails from mixologists who infuse, muddle, stir, shake and swizzle the freshest mixes using local ingredients and artful garnishes. Refreshing selections will include frozen lemonades, frozés, espresso martinis, shareable cocktails and spirit-free elixirs.

Later this year, Downtown Disney will open a new stage and lawn for special events, activities, musical entertainment and more on the west end of the district. In this brand-new area, you’ll also be able to see a soaring new sculptural tower designed by Nikkolas Smith. This new tower will pay tribute to the sublime work of pioneering architects of color in Southern California during the mid-20^th century with unique geometric patterns in the sculpture, evoking the famed mid-century buildings they created. We look forward to this beautiful new outdoor space!

Future plans for the district will also bring Din Tai Fung, a world-renowned Chinese restaurant known for its soup dumplings and noodles, plus masterful Mexican cuisine by Michelin-starred Chef Carlos Gaytán at Paseo and Céntrico, and the popular California-Cuban cheese rolls and pastries to come from Porto’s Bakery and Cafe.

You’ll want to visit again and again, as it’s always an exciting time to eat, shop and explore in Downtown Disney District.

Dancing with the Stars Celebrates 100 Years of Storytelling With ‘Disney100 Night’ on Oct. 17

Get ready for an enchanting evening at the ballroom as 11 dynamic couples prepare to embark on an extraordinary celebration of Disney’s 100th anniversary. The night promises to be a splendid showcase of timeless performances set to the beloved soundtracks of Disney’s most cherished films.

Mark your calendars for the highly anticipated “Disney100 Night,” airing on Tuesday, October 17th, from 8:00 to 10:01 p.m. EDT/PDT, or 7:00 to 9:01 p.m. CDT, with a simultaneous live broadcast on both ABC and Disney+ in local time zones. You can also catch it the next day on Hulu.

The professional dancers will kick off the festivities with a show-stopping opening number, choreographed by Christopher Scott, featuring the catchy tune “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” from “Encanto.” Partner dances will showcase a variety of styles, including Contemporary, Paso Doble, Jazz, Quickstep, Viennese Waltz, and Waltz.

Fans won’t want to miss their chance to participate in the action. You can cast your votes during the live broadcast in the EDT/CDT time zones. Online voting is available to fans in any U.S. time zone, including its territories and Canada, through dwtsvote.abc.com.

For those with a participating U.S. wireless carrier, SMS/text voting is also an option (unfortunately not available for fans in Canada). The live viewer votes will be combined with the judges’ scores in each episode to determine which couples might face elimination.

The treats are being released in conjunction with the all-new Disney Munchlings Heimlich plush.

The Muchlings Chocolate Pinata is modeled after Heimlich, the Bugs Life caterpillar, is a chocolate pinata filled with candy corn crackle.

Disney World Raises Prices on Most Food & Beverages

Food and Beverage Prices see increase at Walt Disney World

If you’re planning a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort, be prepared for a bit of sticker shock when it comes to food and beverage prices. It appears most food and beverage items have seen significant price increases throughout the resort, impacting everything from your morning coffee to your favorite dining experiences. These price hikes coincide with an overall increase in prices for parking, annual passes, Memory Maker, and miniature golf that we already reported on.

Food and beverage prices have risen across nearly all venues within the Walt Disney World Resort, affecting carts, quick-service options, table-service restaurants, and prix fixe dining. This means that whether you’re grabbing a quick snack, enjoying a casual meal, or indulging in a fine dining experience, you’re likely to feel the pinch in your pocketbook.

A cup of regular Freshly Brewed Joffrey’s Coffee now comes at a cost of $3.79 per serving, up from $3.49. A 20-ounce bottle of Powerade has increased to $4.99 at some locations, from its previous price of $4.69. Even the beloved Nestle Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar, a staple at ice cream and snack carts, has gone up to $6.29 from its former price of $5.99, with some locations charging even more.

But it’s not just these iconic items that have seen increases. Snacks like pretzels, churros, and DOLE Whips have also experienced price hikes, with the extent of the increase dependent on factors such as toppings and location. Even common items like cheeseburgers, pizza, and a range of soft and alcoholic beverages at quick-service locations have been marginally affected.

The price increases extend to table-service restaurants as well, encompassing both item-based and prix fixe menus. Nearly every restaurant in the Walt Disney World Resort has felt the impact of these adjustments. For instance, the Triple-B Burger at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe in Magic Kingdom has seen an increase from $12.79 to $13.49. Similarly, the Cheese Pizza at PizzeRizzo at Disney’s Hollywood Studios now costs $11.29, up from its previous price of $10.79.

Table-service restaurants have also seen a price jump. Be Our Guest in the Fantasyland section of Magic Kingdom now costs $70 per adult and $41 per child for both lunch and dinner, compared to the previous prices of $67 and $39, respectively. Meanwhile, ‘Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has seen an increase in breakfast and dinner prices, rising from $45 to $49 for adults at breakfast and from $29 to $30 for children. Dinner at ‘Ohana has increased from $59 to $62 for adults and from $38 to $40 for children.

For those planning a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort in the upcoming months, be sure to adjust your budget accordingly as your favorite snacks, meals, and dining experiences will likely come with a slightly higher price tag.

Latest updates to EPCOT’s include CommuniCore Hall Spaceship Earth-Inspired paneling

Construction on CommuniCore Hall at EPCOT continues ahead of the area’s planned opening later this year. The latest visual element added to CommuniCore Hall includes new paneling which features a design inspired by the EPCOT Icon Spaceship Earth.

The exterior of this portion of the building will contain triangle-shaped paneling that resembles the exterior of Spaceship Earth.

The original concept art for CommuniCore Hall showed an exterior design inspired by Spaceship Earth, which is located very close to CommuniCore Hall.

When open, CommuniCore Hall will serve as a hub for the various EPCOT festivals as well as a permanent meet-and-greet for Mickey and Friends.

Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe is a bakery located in the Norway Pavilion in EPCOT that serves up a variety of traditional Norwegian specialties, including the fan-favorite school bread, kringla sweet pretzels, and sweet lefse flatbread. The pastries can be washed down with some Viking coffee or even a Norwegian beer. Guests can now enjoy a new item on the menu: the Frozen-themed Strawberry White Chocolate Mousse Tart!

The new tart features a combination of strawberry and white chocolate mouse on top of a chocolate ganache base. The treat is frozen-themed and is being served up in honor of the film’s 10th anniversary.
