Behind the Scenes of Disney’s Frighteningly Fun Adventure “Haunted Mansion,” Opening In Theaters July 28th

A new featurette for the upcoming Haunted Mansion film is now available online. This latest film is inspired the by iconic theme park attraction and has assembled an all-star cast who will be joining the 999 happy haunts on July 28th. Check out the full featurette on YouTube or find it below.

Directed by Justin Simien, the film features an all-star cast ensemble cast including LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Owen Wilson, Danny DeVito, Rosario Dawson, Chase W. Dillon and Daniel Levy, with Jamie Lee Curtis and Jared Leto as The Hatbox Ghost.

“Haunted Mansion” is about a woman and her son who enlist a motley crew of so-called spiritual experts to help rid their home of supernatural squatters. The film’s producers are Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich, with Nick Reynolds and Tom Peitzman serving as executive producers.

The Haunted Mansion is a beloved and iconic attraction at Disneyland Park, located in Anaheim, California. The history of the Haunted Mansion dates back to the early 1950s when Walt Disney envisioned a haunted house-themed attraction for his new Disneyland park.

Walt Disney had a long-standing fascination with ghosts and spooky stories, which he wanted to incorporate into the park. Initially, he considered building the Haunted Mansion as a walk-through attraction, but the concept evolved over the years into a dark ride experience.

Development of the Haunted Mansion faced numerous delays and challenges, partly due to Walt Disney’s perfectionism and the technological limitations of the time. The ride was repeatedly put on hold as the Imagineers focused on other projects, such as the 1964-1965 New York World’s Fair and the construction of other Disneyland attractions.

The Haunted Mansion finally opened its doors to the public on August 9, 1969, several years after Walt Disney’s passing. The attraction showcased a unique blend of spooky and whimsical elements, combining eerie effects with Disney’s trademark storytelling and humor.

The Haunted Mansion’s exterior features a stately, Gothic Revival-style mansion, designed to appear hauntingly beautiful. Its façade, surrounded by a meticulously kept garden and an eerie graveyard, immediately captures the attention of visitors. The mansion’s architectural style draws inspiration from various sources, including the Shipley-Lydecker House in Baltimore, Maryland, and the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, California.

As guests enter the mansion, they find themselves in a seemingly normal stretching room that begins to stretch upward, accompanied by eerie narration. The subsequent Doom Buggy ride takes guests through various scenes and encounters with ghostly inhabitants, including the singing busts, the Hatbox Ghost, and the infamous hitchhiking ghosts.

Over the years, the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland has undergone minor updates and enhancements. Notably, in 2001, the attraction received a holiday overlay called “Haunted Mansion Holiday,” which combines elements of Halloween and Christmas, inspired by Tim Burton’s film “The Nightmare Before Christmas.”

The success of Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion led to the creation of similar attractions in other Disney parks worldwide, each with its unique storyline and variations. The Haunted Mansion remains a classic and beloved ride, enchanting visitors with its blend of spookiness, humor, and timeless Disney magic.

Pixar’s Pete Docter Confirms Some of the Returning Characters in TOY STORY 5

In a recent interview with Variety, Pixar Boss Pete Docter talk about the studio’s latest release Elemental. In that interview, Docter focused on Pixar’s future slate of animated projects, specifically the unexpected fifth installment in the Toy Story franchise.

Docter was asked What’s next for Pixar? Docter shared, “The next thing we have coming up is our first long-form streaming series, Win or Lose. It looks like Pixar, but in a new flavor that we haven’t experienced before. It’s really cool.”

Docter shared that, “Inside Out coming out next summer, and then “Elio.” That’s about a kid who feels like he doesn’t quite fit in. Somehow, he is selected to be the Earth’s representative at an intergalactic community of planets. The fate of the Earth is in this kid’s hands. We had an audience test screening last week. It’s compelling, fun, and very funny.”

“As for “Inside Out,” a bunch more emotions get to come in. It’s not just the five we saw in the first film. The team on that one put together a really great story that I think also has real depth and meaning to it. So fingers crossed that people like it.”

Finally, Docter briefly mentioned, “We have another Toy Story, so Woody and Buzz are back.” While the details of the fifth film are shroud in mystery, news of both Woody and Buzz’s return is sure to delight longtime fans who may have worried that we had said goodbye to Tom Hanks and Woody in Toy Story 4. Tim Allen confirmed earlier this year that he was returning to the franchise for the fifth installment after having handed the role of the movie version of Buzz Lightyear to Chris Evans.

The original Toy Story, released in 1995, was the first feature-length film entirely created using computer-generated imagery (CGI). It revolutionized the animation industry and set a new standard for visual storytelling. The franchise continued to push the boundaries of animation with each subsequent installment.

One of the most remarkable aspects of the Toy Story franchise is its ability to appeal to audiences of different generations. Many who grew up with the original film in the ’90s have continued to follow the franchise, and new generations have been introduced to the films, creating a shared experience across age groups.

New Update to Disney Genie+ Service at Walt Disney World

Disney has just released new details on an update coming to the Genie+ service at the end of June.

Here are the details:

As we recently shared, we are working on ways to simplify the Disney Genie+ service, including offering the ability to plan before the day of your visit, which many Guests have asked for. We plan to share more news in the future, but in the meantime, we also want to improve the experience for guests using the service as it exists today, so we will be making an update as we continue to listen to guests.

Beginning June 27th, Guests at Walt Disney World will now purchase Disney Genie+ service based on how they want to visit. Guests will be able to select either a single-park option or a multiple-parks option, subject to availability.

With this update, prices may now be lower at some Walt Disney World theme parks compared to others. Guests will continue to be able to purchase Disney Genie+ service through the My Disney Experience app on the day of their visit.

Here is an example for June 27th prices:

Multiple Parks: $27/person
Magic Kingdom: $27/person
Hollywood Studios: $24/person
EPCOT: $18/person
Animal Kingdom: $16/person

No details have been announced for Disneyland yet.

Walt Disney World resort is well known for its amazing July 4th celebrations. While fireworks won’t be available at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, or Disney Springs, EPCOT and Magic Kingdom will be hosting a series of special events and performances to commemorate the occasion. Let’s dive into the details of these exciting celebrations!

EPCOT Independence Day Extravaganza

EPCOT, the park known for its celebration of cultures and innovation, will be open from 9 am to 9 pm on July 4th. To kick off the day, early entry will be available from 8:30 am to 9:00 am for on-property guests.

One of the highlights of the evening will be the enchanting fireworks show titled “The Heartbeat of Freedom,” which will take place at 9 pm. Following the regular nightly performance of “EPCOT Forever,” this patriotic spectacle promises to dazzle visitors and create an atmosphere of awe and admiration.

In addition to the fireworks, guests can enjoy the enchanting vocals of the a cappella vocal group, Voices of Liberty, as they perform beloved numbers from the American songbook. Taking place beneath the iconic rotunda in The American Adventure, this performance is sure to stir feelings of national pride and appreciation.

Throughout the day, beloved Disney characters will also be dressed in “Spirit of ’76” attire, ready to meet and interact with guests at The American Adventure. It’s an opportunity to capture memorable photos and share in the excitement of the holiday with your favorite Disney pals.

To satisfy your taste buds, EPCOT will feature special patriotic bites and sips in honor of the nation’s birthday. From the Fourth of July Fruit Tart, a delectable blackberry custard topped with fresh berries and a vanilla panna cotta popsicle, to the exclusive Fourth of July Liege Waffle available at Connections Café, there are unique culinary delights to indulge in during this limited-time celebration.

Magic Kingdom’s All-American Fun

At Magic Kingdom, the enchantment of Independence Day will extend from 9:00 am to 11:00 pm, allowing for an entire day of immersive experiences and entertainment. Early entry will be available from 8:30 am to 9:00 am for on-property guests, enabling guests to be among the first to experience the magic of the park.

The highlight of the evening will be “Disney’s Celebrate America! – A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” presented at 9:20 pm on both July 3 and July 4. This spectacular fireworks show will light up the night sky, painting a vivid picture of patriotic colors and capturing the essence of the nation’s spirit.

Disney’s live-action reimagining of Bambi has taken a major step forward. The Hollywood Reporter has shared that the studio is currently vetting Sarah Polley for the director’s chair. Polley won an Academy Award earlier this year for her work on Women Talking. While Bambi is still in development, this is a major milestone in bringing the film to theaters.

Bambi was first announced in 2020 with Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Lindsey Beer supposedly writing the screenplay. Depth of Field, the production team who brought us the live-action Pinnochio was producing a potential Bambi remake.

Disney’s animated masterpiece, Bambi, has captured the hearts of audiences for decades with its enchanting storytelling and breathtaking animation. Released in 1942, the film remains a beloved classic, cherished for its depiction of the wonders of nature, the circle of life, and the journey of self-discovery.

Set in the serene and picturesque world of the forest, Bambi follows the life of a young deer named Bambi, from his birth to his eventual ascent to becoming the Prince of the Forest. Disney Files New Permit for Mirabel Meet and Greet Coming to the Magic Kingdom

Disney has submitted a permit application to transform the Fairytale Garden in Magic Kingdom into a designated area for meeting and greeting Mirabel.

The permit has been awarded to the Adena Corporation, a construction contractor known for its previous collaborations with amusement parks such as SeaWorld and Six Flags, as well as its involvement in various commercial and retail projects, schools, healthcare facilities, and housing complexes.

Currently, the Fairytale Garden serves as the backdrop for a meet-and-greet experience with Merida, which has been in place for several years. The garden is adorned with “Brave” tapestries, archery gear, and a prominent stone table at its center. Guests access the meet and greet area by ascending the ramp on the right.

While the fundamental layout of the space may remain largely unchanged, it will be embellished with whimsical decorations inspired by La Familia Madrigal for the upcoming Mirabel meet and greet.

Recently Walt Disney World Posted an Open Casting Call for Bruno Madrigal from ‘Encanto’ that is expected to go in the new area with Miribel.

Energy Bites Updates Menu by Removing Two Fan Favorite Menu Items. Well, that didn’t take long. Disney has removed the Dumplings from the Energy Bytes menu three months after opening the newest quick-service stand in Tomorrowland at Tron Lightcycle Run.

“This new kiosk will be serving up some tasty eats and sips for you to grab, drawing inspiration from the futuristic environment around you. Whether you’re looking for some breakfast bites, savory snacks, sweet treats, or refreshing beverages, this new spot will soon become a go-to pitstop as you venture into the world of Tomorrowland.” Disney wrote a week before opening.

Below, is Disney’s description of the newest items that are now removed. No word on if the dumplings will make a return, or why they have been removed.

Now onto the savory options. If you love buffalo chicken and dumplings, you’re in luck because Energy Bytes is combining both of these classics into one delicious concoction – Digital Dumplings – Buffalo Chicken. Yes, you heard that right. This bite perfectly combines chicken dumplings, blue cheese powder, and cayenne pepper broth.

And these aren’t the only dumplings coming to Tomorrowland. There is another dish soon to be served up. The Digital Dumplings – Beef & Broccoli is out of this world as it transforms this iconic dish into dumpling form with beef dumplings, broccoli pesto, and ginger-soy broth. How delicious! Cinderella Castle Fountain Drained in the Magic Kingdom

Cinderella Castle Fountain Drained in the Magic Kingdom. Since the end of Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary, Disney has been doing a good amount of work in and around Cinderella Castle. From repainting the turrets after taking off the overlay, to draining the moat that surrounds the Castle and fixing some rock work.

Now Disney has drained the Cinderella drinking fountain that is located in the courtyard on the backside of Cinderella Castle. The water fountain features four bubblers to drink from, and a beautiful mural and statue of Cinderella and the woodland animals.

Cinderella Fountain is famous because it appears to be made specifically for children. The reason for this thought is, when an adult drinks from the fountain itself, all you see is a Cinderella statue and an image in the background that appears to show Cinderella’s Tiara. When a child does the same thing, the tiara appears actually to be on Cinderella’s head.

No idea why Disney has drained the fountain as of now, but it would appear a small refurbishment may be done on the inside. As of now you can still get some water from the fountain to drink.
