Fall Issue of D23 Magazine to Highlight Disney100

In celebration of the 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company, the upcoming Fall 2023 issue of Disney Twenty-three will take fans on a trip down memory lane in honor of the company’s centennial this October.

The special commemorative issue—a meaningful keepsake as part of the Disney100 celebration—will feature an original and exclusive cover of Mickey Mouse from artist and “Mickey” voiceover performer Bret Iwan, and a letter of gratitude to the passionate fans from the CEO of The Walt Disney Company, Bob Iger.

The new issue, to be delivered directly to Gold Members of D23: The Official Disney Fan Club, will include an in-depth look from Walt Disney Archives experts on how Walt and Roy O. Disney defied all expectations to become the founders of the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio in 1923 in addition to quotes from the brothers themselves as first-hand testimony of their fascinating journey. Plus, readers will learn more about the art and science behind the revolutionary technologies and techniques that have shaped Disney stories and experiences through the decades.

The commemorative issue will also feature personal stories from Disney Legends Josh Gad and Tracee Ellis Ross, the cast of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, and Rosario Dawson, star of the upcoming Disney+ show Ahsoka. Refreshment Port in EPCOT Closed for Refurbishment

The Refreshment Port in Epcot is closed for refurbishment and won’t reopen until the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival.

The Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival menu has been removed from Refreshment Port. The location will reopen for the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival which begins July 27, 2023. Refreshment Port is located just before the Canada Pavilion in World Showcase.

During festivals, Refreshment Port typically serves various poutine dishes. During other times, the quick-service location serves chicken tenders, french fries, and fountain beverages.

2023 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival

The 2023 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival will take place from July 27 to November 18. Get ready to sip and savor at more than 25 Global Marketplaces throughout EPCOT, including returning favorites such as The Fry Basket, Flavors from Fire, Canada, India, and Spain. Several new Global Marketplaces will open later during the festival as summer turns to fall.

Oogie Boogie Bash Ticket Sales to Resume on July 11th

Oogie Boogie Bash tickets originally went on sale to the general public last week. Disneyland’s site had some major technical issues and sales were suspended. Today, Disney shared an update for when those ticket sales will resume.

Oogie Boogie Bash is a spooktacular Halloween party at Disney California Adventure! The party takes place on select nights September 5 through October 31, 2023. Magic Key holders were able to purchase tickets before they went on sale to the general public last week.

While some guests were able to get through and purchase party tickets last week, most were unable to due to the technical issues. Disney has now shared that tickets will resume sales on July 11 no earlier than 9 am PT.

“As part of our commitment to share an update on Oggie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party ticket sales, we want you to know that new sales will resume on July 11 no earlier than 9:oo AM, Pacific Time. We sincerely apologize for the technical issues we experienced last week that may have impacted your ability to purchase tickets.”

The spell’s been cast! On select nights this September and October, Disney California Adventure Park will host a separately ticketed Halloween party with Oogie Boogie. Beautiful Port Orleans Riverside Flower Minnie Ears To Add To Your Collection!

We found the adorable Port Orleans Riverside Flower Minnie Ears at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort at Walt Disney World for $39.99! They feature a very similar floral design to the Daisy Duck ear headband that was recently released, so if you are more into pastel colors, this is the ear headband for you.

On the front it features a flowery design in pink and white colors, and if you look closely, you will see some gold hidden Mickeys! It also features a beautiful jute bow with gold accents and a Minnie Mouse charm in the middle.

On the back, the light blue looks stunning with the Disney’s Port Orleans Resort Riverside logo on one ear and a floral artwork in pink and white on the other to match the design on the front.

Today we got a sneak peek of the new Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party merchandise that will be available exclusively at the party in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. Everything looks so festive! We can’t wait to get our favorite pieces, take a look:

First we have a mug that will be a must have this holiday season for your hot chocolate, coffee or tea! It features a dark green base color with Mickey in his Santa Claus outfit riding a sleigh ready to deliver presents to all the kids! So cute.

There is also a collectible pin with the same design and an ornament featuring Mickey with a present inside a snow globe and two charms with the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party logo and Magic Kingdom 2023 shaped like present tags, definitely a must have in your tree this year.

Universal Orlando’s Passholder Night is returning for the first time since 2019

Exciting news for Universal Orlando Resort Passholders! Mark your calendars for August 26, 2023, as Universal Islands of Adventure prepares to host a memorable evening just for Passholders. After a long hiatus, Passholder Night is set to return to the theme park.

The show, set during Disney Jollywood Nights, takes inspiration from vintage Hollywood television specials, infusing them with the contemporary magic of Disney’s holiday spirit.

A star-studded affair, the performance will feature special appearances by renowned Muppets Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy, as well as beloved characters Minnie Mouse and Mickey Mouse.

Disney Live Entertainment is seeking Vocalists for a new Holiday offering performed on select nights from November 11th – December 20th in Disney Jollywood Nights. This new show will be performed live at Disney’s Hollywood Studios® at the Walt Disney World® Resort near Orlando, FL.

For the holiday season, Disney Live Entertainment is pulling out all the stops to bring you a spectacular variety of entertainment experiences across Walt Disney World Resort, including a brand-new nighttime holiday party at Disney’s Hollywood Studios – Disney Jollywood Nights.

Performers are under seasonal contracts between October – December 2023.

Theatre of the Stars plays host to an all-new stage show rooted in the glitz and glamor of vintage Hollywood television specials, with a contemporary twist of Disney holiday magic. Famous Muppets Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy will be special guests in this star-studded production, which features appearances by Tiana, Belle, Minnie Mouse, and Mickey Mouse. Joined by a talented cast of singers, dancers, and live jazz musicians, the show is sure to get you in the spirit of the holidays with a toe-tapping, heartwarming, jolly good time.

SEEKING:

Male identifying Vocalist: Tenor crooner with an edge, comfortable singing in a high energy big band/rockabilly style similar to Brian Setzer, definitely an entertainer at heart, vocal range: B/C below middle C to G/A above middle C.

Female Identifying Vocalist: Strong mezzo-soprano with the ability to sing pop/jazz and light riffing, comfortable singing in a high-energy big band/rockabilly style and making a “standard” song their own, a natural entertainer with a similar singing style to Ella Fitzgerald. Vocal range: A/G below middle C to comfortable belt D/E an octave above middle C.

Tiana: Charismatic and Strong mezzo-soprano with a pop belt to an E (in the octave above middle C), and the ability to riff in a style similar to Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas.”

Belle: She will be singing “As Long As There’s Christmas” in the same key as the movie score – so “in character” traditional musical theater singing style, vocal range: G below middle C to Eb an octave above middle C.
