Opening Date Announced for Avengers Vault in Disney California Adventure

A new retail spot is coming to Disney California Adventure! Avengers Vault will feature “Infinity Saga Relics…apparel and other fan-favorite merchandise.” We now have an opening date for the new store.

Disneyland Resort guests will be able to find Super Hero gear at Avengers Vault opening in Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure Park! Avengers Vault will feature Infinity Saga Relics arriving at the Disneyland Resort for the first time, apparel and other fan-favorite merchandise also available at other locations around the Disneyland Resort, including at The Collector’s Warehouse, WEB Suppliers and Supply Pod.

Disney originally shared that the store would be opening mid-September. We now know that it will officially open on September 18!

Per Disneyland’s website:

“For 2 years, Super Heroes have been assembling across space and time to train the next generation of heroes. They use the Avengers Campus as a hub for multi-world exploration, keeping unique artifacts they’ve collected here. However, the most powerful relics of their collection have been kept closed in the Avengers Vault… until now.

A fun, new Halloween treat has arrived at Disneyland! The Poison Skull Apple is one of a variety of candy apples available this Halloween season, but it’s definitely the spookiest.

The Poison Skull Apple is a Green Granny Smith apple dipped in caramel and enrobed in red-colored white chocolate and green-colored white chocolate skull face resembling the poisoned apple from ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’.

Florida Extends Construction Permit for Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge till 2028

The construction permit for Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge has been extended into 2028. This Disney Vacation Club resort was first announced in 2018 but was thought to be canceled during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The permit was originally filed in May 2018 and was set to expire in May 2023. This past summer, Disney requested an extension. The state of Florida granted the extension and the permit will now expire May of 2028.

Disney’s permit is for the “STOLport Site,” near the former Walt Disney World Airport. The new DVC resort was not going to be constructed there, but the area would act as a staging ground. There’s no confirmation that the resort plans will resume. The space could be used as a staging ground for other projects.

Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge was being constructed on the former site of Disney’s River Country. The plans were for the deluxe resort to house more than 900 rooms including DVC villas. The new resort was to be nature-inspired and nestled in between the Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.

The Pepperoni Pizza Spring Roll joins the Cheeseburger Spring Roll at the Adventureland Spring Roll Cart. You can order them separately or as a combo. The current price is $9.50 for two spring rolls. You can get two of the same or one of each.

The pizza spring rolls first appeared at the cart in 2019. They are replacing the Cordon Bleu Spring Rolls.

Guests have loved the Spring Roll Cart in Magic Kingdom! Visiting the cart is an experience itself. The cart offers delicious and unique spring rolls that guests just can’t get enough of.

A new EPCOT Reimagined Merchandise collection is coming soon! This new design wants to invite you to celebrate the next generation of immersive storytelling coming to life at Epcot.

The collection will feature icons, attractions and characters found at Epcot that represent the endless possibilities and optimism of the park. Take a look:

Cast for Season 32 of Dancing with the Stars Announced

Good Morning America unveiled the fresh lineup for ABC’s cherished dance competition show in an announcement made on Wednesday. Dancing with the Stars season 32 is here and has some exciting new contestants.

“Dancing with the Stars” remains a popular and long-running television show that blends the glamour of ballroom dancing with the competitive spirit of reality TV. The format typically features a cast of celebrities from various backgrounds, including actors, athletes, musicians, and more, who are paired with professional ballroom dancers.

These couples then compete in a series of dance routines, ranging from the elegant waltz to the fiery cha-cha, in front of a panel of judges and a live audience. Throughout the season, contestants face elimination, and the pair with the lowest combined scores from the judges and audience votes must leave the competition. The show’s winning couple is determined by a combination of judges’ scores and viewer votes, making it an interactive and engaging experience for the audience.

Real estate tycoon and star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Mauricio Umansky, will join forces with pro dancer Emma Slater. Meanwhile, singer Jason Mraz is ready to take on the competition with partner Daniella Karagach, and actress Alyson Hannigan has teamed up with pro dancer Sasha Farber.

Marvel luminary Xochitl Gomez, will be paired with Val Chmerkovskiy, Too Hot to Handle sensation Harry Jowsey, will dance alongside Rylee Arnold (the younger sibling of alum Lindsay Arnold), singer and social media influencer Lele Pons, partners up with pro Brandon Armstrong, and comedian and actor Matt Walsh, will team up with partner Koko Iwasaki.

Additionally, the cast welcomes actress Mira Sorvino, who will dance alongside partner Gleb Savchenko, NFL player Adrian Peterson, who will team up with Britt Stewart, The Brady Bunch icon Barry Williams, who partners with Peta Murgatroyd, and supermodel Tyson Beckford, who joins forces with pro Jenna Johnson.

The complete cast revelation follows Good Morning America’s announcement just days ago, where they unveiled that actress Jamie Lynn Spears would be participating in the series this autumn, paired with professional dancer Alan Bersten. Spears has shared that she will be donating her salary to SAG/AFTRA amid the strike.

The fresh cast members will showcase their talents before the judging panel consisting of Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli. It’s worth noting that Len Goodman, who had announced his retirement as head judge in November 2022, sadly passed away on April 24 at the age of 78.

In addition to the adjustments in the judges’ lineup, ABC revealed in March 2023 that Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro are set to co-host Season 32 of DWTS. This news came just three days after it was announced that Tyra Banks would be departing the show after hosting for three seasons.

“Dancing with the Stars” has not only become a platform for celebrities to showcase their dance skills but has also spawned 32 seasons, each with its own unique roster of stars and memorable performances. It has also introduced audiences to the world of ballroom dancing, inspiring viewers to appreciate the artistry and athleticism of the dancers.

Get ready for a howling good time this Halloween on Disney+ as more “Werewolf By Night” is headed your way, and this time, it’s embracing vibrant colors. Marvel Studios has exciting news to share: the beloved spooky special is making a return to the streaming platform, now bathed in a vivid spectrum of hues.

This shift is significant given that the original “Werewolf By Night” was renowned for its striking black and white aesthetics. However, mark your calendars for Friday, October 20th, as fans will be treated to the tale of Jack Russell in all its colorful glory.

Director Michael Giacchino’s debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was met with resounding acclaim from both fans and critics alike. The special garnered praise for its tone and unwavering commitment to delivering a darker, more mystic narrative within the Marvel Studios realm.

Blade was scheduled for release later this year, but the film encountered some setbacks attributed to script-related challenges. As it stands, the movie is now slated for its premiere in 2025.

However, with ongoing strikes by both the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and the Screen Actors Guild‐American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA), demanding equitable compensation from studios, fans may find themselves waiting a bit longer before sinking their teeth into Blade. Disney+ Shares Disney’s “Launchpad” Season 2 Trailer & More

Disney+ has unveiled the trailer and poster for the upcoming Season 2 of Disney’s “Launchpad.” This season features a collection of six short films created by underrepresented filmmakers, each bringing their unique and powerful voices to storytelling. Additionally, Disney+ has released a sneak peek image from each of these exciting short films.

In Season 2 of Disney’s “Launchpad,” we’ll experience a series of live-action shorts from a new generation of dynamic filmmakers. This season introduces us to six writers, five directors, and one writer-director, all hailing from underrepresented backgrounds.

They have been given a remarkable opportunity to share their perspectives and creative visions. Building upon the mission of the first season of “Launchpad,” which aimed to diversify the narratives presented by providing access to those who historically lacked it, Season 2 proudly presents six new shorts for Disney+, all centered around the theme of “connection.”

Sr. Manager and Producer of Disney “Launchpad” Phillip Domfeh stated, “The filmmakers of Disney ‘Launchpad’ season two have taken their storytelling to new heights by developing six imaginative and inspiring stories for Disney+.”

Mahin Ibrahim, Director, RISE Creative Talent Pathways and Executive Producer, added, “We can’t wait to give these incredibly talented writers, directors, producers, cast and crew the opportunity to showcase their creative passion and excellence in craft.”

Panavision again provided the camera and lens packages for the six original shorts, and Light Iron, Panavision’s post-production division, provided dailies, final color and finishing services for all of Season 2. “Panavision and Light Iron are proud to support the incredibly talented filmmakers of the Launchpad program’s second season,” says Panavision President and CEO Kim Snyder. “We’re passionate about empowering storytellers from underrepresented communities by providing access to the tools and expertise that can support their creative visions throughout production and post.”

Mark your calendars, as Disney’s “Launchpad” Season 2 is set to premiere exclusively on Disney+ on September 29. Donald Glover’s ‘Star Wars’ Series Lando will Now be a Movie

In July, news surfaced that Disney and Lucasfilm had chosen Donald and Stephen Glover to take over from Justin Simien as the creative minds behind the upcoming “Lando” project for Disney+. However, there’s been a clarification in the plan. Lucasfilm has now officially revealed to Variety that the “Lando” project is, in fact, in the works as a movie rather than a television series. Donald Glover initially portrayed a young Lando Calrissian in the 2017 film “Solo,” which unfortunately fell short of Disney and Lucasfilm’s box office expectations.

Stephen Glover shared this update on the “Lando” project during a recent appearance on the “Pablo Torre Finds Out” podcast, stating, “It’s not going to be a show…the current concept is to create a movie. Due to ongoing developments, there might be some confusion in the information circulating right now.” This was the extent of the information Stephen could provide, and Lucasfilm subsequently confirmed the shift in the project’s format.

Lando Calrissian is a beloved character in the “Star Wars” universe. He first appears in “The Empire Strikes Back” (1980) and later in “Return of the Jedi” (1983). Lando is portrayed as a charismatic and charming gambler, entrepreneur, and former owner of the Millennium Falcon, a renowned starship. He hails from the mining colony of Cloud City on the planet Bespin.

Lando’s character is known for his stylish fashion sense, love of capes, and his ability to navigate the criminal underworld. Initially, he comes across as somewhat self-serving but ultimately proves himself to be a loyal friend to the Rebel Alliance and a key figure in their fight against the Galactic Empire. Lando’s smooth-talking nature and his complex moral compass make him a captivating and morally ambiguous character.

In an April interview with GQ magazine, Donald Glover disclosed that he was engaged in discussions with Lucasfilm regarding a potential new project centered around Lando within the “Star Wars” universe. He jokingly added, “We’re in conversations about it. That’s all I can reveal without risking [Lucasfilm president] Kathleen Kennedy launching a manhunt for me.”

“Solo: A Star Wars Story” dove into the backstory of the iconic characters Han Solo and Lando from the “Star Wars” franchise. In the movie, Donald Glover takes on the role of Lando Calrissian, a suave and charismatic gambler known for his charm and love of capes.

Glover’s portrayal of Lando was praised for capturing the essence of the character originally played by Billy Dee Williams. Glover brought a sense of style, wit, and a bit of roguish charm to the role. His interactions with Alden Ehrenreich’s Han Solo provided additional insight into their complicated friendship and rivalry.

In the GQ interview Glover added, “I would love to play Lando again. It’s a fun time, being him. It just has to be the right way to do it. Time is precious… People realize their time is valuable. You only get so much. I’m not interested in doing anything that’s going to be a waste of my time or just a paycheck. I’d much rather spend time with people that I enjoy. It just has to be the right thing, and I think it could be. Lando is definitely somebody I like to hang out with.”
