Encanto Photo Op Debuts at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
A new Encanto photo op has appeared outside the entrance of Disney’s Animal Kingdom! The photo op arrived just in time to celebrate Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month.
The colorful step-in photo frame features Antonio Madrigal with a variety of animals. Antonio has the gift of being able to communicate with and summon animals so it makes sense he is surrounded by animals. A capybara, jaguar, and parrot are among many other vividly-colored animals.
You can also see “Casita”, the Madrigal’s magical home, in the top left corner of the frame. The back layer of the frame looks like a quilt and features traditional Colombian patterns.
Encanto is receiving more and more representation at the parks. We hope to see a lot more since Disney recently hinted at an Encanto-themed area could be coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom in the future.

This beautiful cupcake is available at Restaurantosaurus in the Dinoland U.S.A. section of the park for $6.29.
It’s a vanilla cake with guava and dulce de leche filling topped with vanilla frosting. There is a white chocolate “Encanto” decoration, milk chocolate leaves, and crispy pearls.
The frosting is made to look like beautiful flowers which go nicely with the chocolate leaves. The white chocolate decoration features Mirabel, Antonio, Pico, and a capybara.
You might want to be careful with this treat! The green frosting can stain your skin.

Planning a trip to Universal Orlando’s Islands of Adventure in January 2024? You may want to keep an eye on the refurbishment list, as the Jurassic Park River Adventure is slated to close for refurbishment during that time frame.
Operating theme parks in areas like Central Florida, which provides weather that allows the parks to be open year round, results in the need to take rides off line for routine maintenance and refurbishments while the parks are still open to guests.
Refurbishments typically include needed maintenance upgrades, refreshing paint and scenery, and fixing malfunctioning ride elements (like animatronics) that cannot be fixed during the typical overnight maintenance periods.
This annual Winter maintenance for Jurassic Park River Adventure will start on January 8, 2024 and run through February 1 2024. Guests will be unable to ride the attraction during this time. Note the time frames are estimates, and may extend beyond the anticipated re-opening date.

This year marks the first time Universal has opened a Halloween Horror Nights Store at Universal International Airport, which is currently also the home of a Universal Orlando store.
The store sells exclusive Halloween Horror Nights merchandise out of its Terminal B location at the airport.
This spooky good time will be short lived, as the store is only slated to be open through November 4.

Latest details about Universal’s Epic Universe point towards the park being the world’s most technologically advanced theme park
Theme park fans are eagerly counting down the days until Universal’s Epic Universe, an all-new theme park currently under construction at Universal Orlando Resort, opens its doors. With immersive lands and rides that include the confirmed Super Nintendo World and a suspected extension of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the park is expected to continue Universal’s tradition of immersing fans in their favorite movies. The latest details point toward the park being not only immersive, but also containing the latest tech possible!
Fox 35 Orlando reports Universal Destinations & Experiences CEO Mark Woodrow stated during a recent investor call the park will take them to “the next level.” Woodrow went on to note the 750-acre park will contain 4 themed lands that will all incorporate advanced technology such as next-generation robotics and facial recognition technology for visitors.
Facial recognition will reportedly be leveraged to utilize express pass and even pay for items via a credit card linked to your account. The park is also planning on installing an electric bus system to transport guests between the Universal Orlando parks.
Epic Universe Epic Universe, slated to open in the Summer of 2025, is noted by Universal to be the “most immersive and innovative park” that the theme park giant has ever created. The park was originally slated to open in 2023, however, construction delays due to the COVID pandemic have pushed the opening date back by 2 years.

Nothing hits the spot on a hot day quite like some refreshing gelato! There is a new mango flavor at the Gelato Cart near Muppets Courtyard in Disney’s Hollywood Studios and it is delicious.
The Gelato Cart in Disney’s Hollywood Studios features many different flavors but every month there’s a ‘flavor of the month’. This month’s flavor is mango.
The mango gelato is creamy and has a strong mango flavor. One scoop costs $7.50 and two scoops cost $9.25. The specialty flavors usually only last a month so if you want to try the mango one, get over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios asap!

Narcoossee’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Closed Once Again for Updates
Narcoossee’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has closed once again for refurbishment. The restaurant opened earlier this year after a 10-month long closure and today began another closure.
The Disney World website explains that the restaurant will be closed until mid-October:
“We recently introduced an enhanced interior and menu offerings at Narcoossee’s and will be making a few more equipment updates. Beginning September 17, 2023, Narcoossee’s will be unavailable. We expect to reopen by mid-October. During this time, we welcome Guests to consider other dining locations at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa—including the signature dining favorite, Cítricos.”
The restaurant is not the only spot at Disney’s Grand Floridian undergoing refurbishment. The resort is still updating rooms and the lobby was recently refurbished. Guests can expect to see and hear construction around the resort during the day.
