According to Walt Disney Imagineering Executive Producer Wyatt Winter, this updated intro is all about pulling riders directly into the battle against Emperor Zurg from the very first moment.

One of the biggest additions is Buddy, a brand-new support robot created by Imagineering and Pixar, who runs system checks and gives Space Rangers a morale boost before launch. The hyperspace tunnel has also been completely refreshed with new projection technology, featuring Buzz, Zurg, and floating space mines that guests can zap for extra points. Visual Effects Designer Shay explained that the tunnel now includes layered effects and new animation, while Pixar animator Tasha shared how the team had to rethink animation entirely to make it work seamlessly inside a projected tunnel environment.

Long before EPCOT even welcomed its first guests in 1982, plans for The Living Seas were already in motion, with an original target opening of 1984. After a few delays, the pavilion finally debuted in 1986 with United Technologies as its sponsor. Guests were treated to a full journey under the sea, starting with an educational film, followed by the Hydrolator that simulated a descent to the ocean floor, and ending with the Caribbean Coral Reef Ride and the massive SeaBase Alpha aquarium, which remains one of the largest themed aquariums in the world.

Turtle Talk with Crush debuted in 2004 to huge crowds, and after a temporary closure in 2005, the pavilion reopened with a full Nemo-themed makeover. The former Caribbean Coral Reef Ride was reimagined into The Seas with Nemo & Friends, opening in 2007 and blending animated storytelling with real marine life.

Good to Go Annual Passholder Days Return Starting Next Week

Disney World Annual Passholder Good-to-Go Days Are Back Next Week

Annual Passholders, consider this your official permission slip to play hooky. Walt Disney World has confirmed that Good-to-Go days are returning next week, giving Passholders the freedom to stroll right into the parks without a reservation on select dates. Sometimes the best Disney plans are the ones you do not have to plan at all.

The Good-to-Go dates are January 12, 13, and 14, and they apply to all Annual Pass types and all four theme parks. That means Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom are all fair game with zero reservation stress. Just tap in and let the magic do the rest.

Outside of these dates, the usual rules still apply. Reservations are required for most visits, but Passholders can continue to enter any park after 2 p.m. without a reservation, with the usual exception of Magic Kingdom on Saturdays and Sundays. These mid-January Good-to-Go days are especially sweet with holiday crowds fading and cooler weather hanging around just a bit longer.
