Disneyland Debuts Free ‘Mickey’s Park Rangers’ Summer Activity Book

The brand-new “Mickey’s Park Rangers” complimentary activity book leads the lineup of limited-time family activities and experiences debuting at Disneyland Resort for Summer 2026.

The new “Mickey’s Park Rangers” guide is a core piece of Disneyland’s family-focused summer lineup, inspiring guests to explore the historic attractions and scenic lands around the Rivers of America, Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer Island, and the Disneyland Railroad.

The booklet catches the eye right away with a vibrant, illustrated cover map inspired by the Rivers of America. The artwork showcases Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Pluto, and Huey, Dewey, and Louie out in the wilderness, fully dressed and ready for adventure as official park rangers.

Upon opening the booklet, visitors are greeted by Park Ranger Mickey, who introduces the guide and challenges guests to solve puzzles and complete wilderness tasks to earn Ranger Stamps throughout the park.

The activity book features a special “3 Steps to Being a Mickey’s Park Ranger” spread, which lays out exactly how families can explore, discover, and collect their stamps. To top it all off, kids can take an official Ranger Pledge activity to formally join Mickey’s crew and become certified park rangers for the summer!

The guide’s initial section plunges guests straight into the mystery of Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer Island. Young explorers can dive into a “Spelunking” word puzzle themed around the island’s secret caves, alongside a “Picnicking”challenge that requires solving food-focused clues.

One of the most immersive features is an “Orienteering” challenge that utilizes a beautifully stylized map of the island. Guests follow a trail of clever riddles across the terrain to unearth a pirate captain’s buried treasure. For those looking to crack a code, a “Pirate Lore” puzzle features a skeleton alphabet that guests must decipher to reveal a secret message hidden deep within the Shipwreck area.

The booklet also weaves in fun educational elements. A “Botany” activity introduces younger guests to the unique plant life growing around the island via an engaging word game, while a “Blacksmithing” puzzle challenges kids to decode secret words by systematically crossing out specific terms.

Transitioning away from the island, the guide shifts focus to the historic Rivers of America. This new chapter kicks off with a “Navigation” activity, where guests put their geography skills to the test by identifying various rivers across the United States on a map puzzle.

A “Canoeing” challenge nods directly to Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes with a fun lyric puzzle based on “Row, Row, Row Your Boat,” while the “Rafting” game tasks kids with figuring out which ducklings rode together to Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer Island. Nearby on the water, a “Birdwatching” activity has guests untangle scrambled words to identify native bird species while spotting real wildlife around the Rivers of America.

The next chapter shines a spotlight on the Mark Twain Riverboat and the Sailing Ship Columbia. In “Animal Friendship,” young trackers identify creatures surrounding Mickey Mouse, while “Paddlewheeling” offers a creative drawing challenge to sketch in the missing pieces of the iconic Mark Twain Riverboat.

The guide wraps up with a series of train-themed educational activities dedicated to the Disneyland Railroad. Kids can learn the basics of telegraph communication in “Codebreaking” by deciphering Railroad Morse code, and rebuild scrambled words of sights seen out the window in “Sightseeing.”

The “Conducting” section dives into classic train terminology, asking guests to fill in missing words related to everyday railroad operations. To finish the adventure, an “Eagle Eye” checklist encourages passengers to peer out the windows and spot hidden animals inside the legendary Grand Canyon and Primeval World dioramas.

The “Paleontology” activity invites young scientists to put their prehistoric knowledge to the test. Guests are challenged to unscramble distinct dinosaur features associated with the famous creatures seen along the tracks, including the Brontosaurus, T. Rex, Stegosaurus, Triceratops, and Pteranodon.

The grand finale of the booklet features a “Railroad Lookout” animal puzzle alongside the highly anticipated “Master Ranger Badge” checklist page. Adventurers who successfully conquer the puzzles and collect all five unique Ranger Stamps can proudly present their completed booklet at a designated Ranger Reward Spot to receive an official Master Ranger Badge sticker to commemorate their summer journey!

The activity booklet is designed to be fully interactive, allowing kids to collect unique stamps throughout their wilderness journey across the park. Once the challenges are complete, the booklet can be brought to a designated location and exchanged for an official, commemorative keepsake sticker reward.

Starting May 22, 2026, families can pick up this complimentary “Mickey’s Park Rangers” activity book for a limited time. The free booklets will be available at select retail locations situated throughout the west side of Disneyland Park.
