Universal Mega Movie Parade Quietly Pushed Back Again at Universal Studios Florida
Looks like the Universal Mega Movie Parade is taking another detour down Hollywood Boulevard. Universal Orlando has quietly delayed the return of the Universal Mega Movie Parade at Universal Studios Florida by about two weeks, with performances now scheduled to begin June 5 instead of the previously expected May 23 return date.

The updated entertainment calendar now shows a 6 p.m. performance on June 5, followed by mostly 7 p.m. performances throughout the summer. The parade is currently scheduled to run through August 23, which is notably shorter than last year’s extended run that continued into November on select dates.
For a parade built around blockbuster franchises and massive spectacle, the Mega Movie Parade has had a surprisingly bumpy production history since debuting in 2024. Originally announced for a July 3 launch, Universal later clarified that date was only the start of technical rehearsals. Even after opening, the full parade lineup was not truly complete until the Ghostbusters Ecto-1 finally joined the entertainment lineup months later.
The parade itself features floats and performers inspired by some of Universal’s biggest properties, including Jaws, Ghostbusters, Jurassic Park, Back to the Future, Trolls, and more. The massive T. rex float and giant Stay Puft Marshmallow Man quickly became fan favorites, but operational consistency has been another story entirely.

This latest delay was not formally announced by Universal and instead quietly appeared through updates to the online calendar, continuing a trend of soft schedule shifts and selective operating dates.
At this point, the Universal Mega Movie Parade is starting to feel a little like the shark from Jaws: sometimes it shows up right on cue… and sometimes it disappears beneath the surface for a while.
