Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto & Tiki Terrace: As shown in the images, construction is happening right next to the Tiki Terrace. While the area looks a bit different with plywood and scaffolding nearby, you can still grab your favorite tropical concoction—just follow the directional signs.
Captain Cook’s: Clear signage is in place to direct hungry guests to the entrance of Captain Cook’s. Be sure to look for the yellow-and-black directional arrows near the construction walls.
The Lobby Experience: Inside the Great Ceremonial House, construction walls have gone up to facilitate the interior refresh. While this does change the “vibe” of the lobby temporarily, the check-in desks and monorail access remain functional.
This lobby refurbishment is part of a larger multi-year transformation at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. From the recently updated guest rooms to the construction of the new Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, the resort is leaning into a fresh, modern aesthetic while keeping its beloved mid-century Tiki charm.
