“Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi” Premieres August 5 on Disney+ and Hulu
The galaxy is about to get a lot bigger. Lucasfilm has officially announced that “Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi,” a brand-new limited anime series, will premiere August 5, 2026, exclusively on Disney+ and Hulu.

The eight-episode series was revealed during Anime Expo 2026, where fans also got their first look at the new trailer and key art. The show launches under the new “Star Wars: Visions Presents” banner, which expands the acclaimed anthology into longer-form stories inspired by fan-favorite episodes.
Picking up after the events of “The Ninth Jedi” and “The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope,” the new series follows Lah Kara as she continues her Jedi training under Margrave Juro. Together with a new generation of Jedi-in-training, Kara embarks on an epic quest to rescue her father while discovering her own place in the Force. The series is directed by Shunsuke Tada, with Kenji Kamiyama serving as supervising director, continuing the creative vision that made the original short one of the standout entries in the “Star Wars: Visions” collection.
Fans will also hear plenty of familiar voices returning for the English dub, including Kimiko Glenn as Lah Kara, Andrew Kishino as Juro, Masi Oka, Patrick Seitz, JP Karliak, and Simu Liu. Joining the cast are Feodor Chin, Young Mazino, Chase Sui Wonders, and Keone Young. The original Japanese voice cast also returns alongside several new performers.
With an expanded story, returning characters, and the stunning animation style fans have come to expect from Production I.G, “Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi” looks ready to become one of the biggest Disney+ premieres of the summer.
