Billionaire activist investor Nelson Peltz has reportedly sold his entire stake in the Walt Disney Company. This decision comes after Peltz’s unsuccessful attempt to secure a board seat, a quest that ended in a public and decisive shareholder rejection earlier this April.
Nelson Peltz, the 81-year-old founding partner of Trian Partners, initiated a proxy battle for a position on Disney’s board alongside former Disney CFO Jay Rasulo. Their campaign, however, faced significant challenges. Disney successfully argued to its shareholders that Peltz, along with his allies former Marvel CEO Ike Perlmutter and Rasulo, were motivated by personal grievances rather than a genuine intent to improve corporate governance. This narrative evidently resonated with shareholders, leading to Peltz’s defeat.
Despite the setback, Peltz’s exit from Disney is not without financial consolation. Reports indicate that he managed to sell his substantial holding—estimated at 30 million shares—for around $120 each, netting approximately $1 billion from the transaction. This sale comes at a time when Disney shares are trading just above $100, suggesting that Peltz capitalized on favorable market conditions.

Magic Kingdom’s Hall of Presidents will temporarily close to guests on June 9th and 10th, 2024, according to the official Walt Disney World operating calendar. While Disney has not officially announced the reason for this brief hiatus, it is speculated to be connected to media events occurring at the park around the same time.
The closure coincides with the expected media previews of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Disney often utilizes the Hall of Presidents, for media presentations and interviews during major launches and events.
Guests planning to visit the Magic Kingdom during these dates should note the temporary unavailability of the Hall of Presidents and plan accordingly. The attraction is expected to resume normal operations quickly, and the downtime is not expected to extend beyond the current 2-day closure.

Universal Orlando Resort has announced the available dates for Premier Passholders to use their complimentary Halloween Horror Nights ticket included with their annual pass. This perk allows Premier Annual Passholders to choose from a selection of nights to experience the thrill of one of the most spectacular Halloween events in the world, at no additional cost.
To enjoy the event, Passholders just need to present their valid Premier Annual Pass at any Universal Studios Florida turnstile on one of the specified nights. Passholders will want to note the after-4 PM Express Pass perk is NOT valid during Halloween Horror Nights, and a separate express pass will need to be purchased to skip the lines at the houses and open attractions.
While Universal has announced that Passholders will need to start making an advanced reservation in 2025, there is no reservation requirement for this year’s event. Passholders can also use their Premier Annual Pass to enter the Scream Early holding areas, provided they enter the park prior to 5 P.M. on the event nights.
