New Sculpture Honoring Disney Legend Rolly Crump Bound for the Haunted Mansion Parlor on the Disney Treasure
A mysterious and special addition is in the works for the Haunted Mansion Parlor aboard the Disney Treasure, and it’s none other than a sculpture inspired by the legendary Disney Imagineer, Rolly Crump. Crafted at a dedicated Walt Disney Imagineering workshop at Walt Disney World Resort, this sculpture pays homage to the man who played a pivotal role in designing the original Haunted Mansion at Disneyland Resort.
Nicknamed “Rolly” by Walt Disney himself during the early days of the company, Rolly Crump has left an indelible mark on Disney Parks, and his influence continues with this unique sculpture. As the world commemorates Rolly Crump on his birthday, this Ship’s Log reveal becomes even more special. Six decades after his creative contributions, the Haunted Mansion Parlor onboard the Disney Treasure promises to unlock the next chapter of the Haunted Mansion saga for Disney Cruise Line guests.
Rolly Crump’s original concept for a “Museum of the Weird” in the Haunted Mansion included a character melting like a candle, showcasing his penchant for the weird and fantastical. In homage to this visionary Imagineer, the design of Rolly’s memorial bust incorporates sculpted drips on the side of his face, capturing the essence of his creative spirit. A memorial plaque accompanying the bust reads, “BROTHER ROLAND- FOREVER REVERED FOR EMBRACING THE WEIRD.” When the Disney Treasure sets sail, Rolly Crump’s statue will take pride of place within the Haunted Mansion Parlor, a fitting tribute to his enduring legacy.
How adorable is this Stitch topper? It comes in a glittery blue acrylic material adding extra sparkle to your drink, and to make it even better, you can also customize it with your name! This is great to treat yourself or to gift to the Stanley cup fan in your life!

The family of Dr. Kanokporn Tangsuan has filed a lawsuit against Disney Parks and Resorts and Raglan Road Irish Pub, located in Disney Springs, following her death from a severe allergic reaction. The lawsuit alleges negligence in the handling of her dietary restrictions, leading to a fatal incident.
According to reporting by WESH 2 News, Dr. Tangsuan, who had severe allergies to nuts and dairy, visited Raglan Road on October 5, 2023, where she and her husband informed their waiter of her allergies. The lawsuit claims that the waiter, after consulting with the chef, assured them that the food could be prepared allergen-free.
The family ordered four menu items, some of which were missing the allergen-free flags when they were served. The waiter reportedly reassured them that the food was safe to eat despite the missing flags. After the meal, Dr. Tangsuan went shopping with her mother-in-law, during which she began to experience severe breathing difficulties, requiring her to self-administered an Epi-Pen.
Dr. Tangsuan was taken to a nearby hospital by emergency medical services (EMS), where she sadly passed away. The medical examiner determined that her cause of death was anaphylaxis caused by high levels of dairy and nuts in her system.

The Mandalorian & Grogu Receives HUGE Tax Break to be Filmed in California
The Star Wars franchise is set to make history as it plans to shoot a film entirely in California for the first time, and it comes in the form of “The Mandalorian & Grogu” movie. The Golden State has committed a substantial amount in tax incentives, offering a whopping $21,755,000 in conditional tax credits for this upcoming Jon Favreau-directed film.
While it remains uncertain if Pedro Pascal, a SAG Award winner, will reprise his role as Din Djarin and team up again with the adorable Baby Yoda for “The Mandalorian” movie, what is clear is that the $21,755,000 tax credit allocation ranks among the largest in the history of the California Film Commission-run program.
To put this into perspective, “Mandalorian & Grogu” falls just short of the $22.4 million awarded to the Transformers spinoff “Bumblebee” in 2017. However, it surpasses the more than $20.8 million granted to “Captain Marvel” seven years ago and the $20.2 million allocated to Quentin Tarantino’s supposed final film, “#10,” in September.
The production is estimated to hire 500 crew members, 54 cast members, and 3,500 background players for 92 filming days in California throughout the year. With this extensive undertaking, “The Mandalorian & Grogu” is expected to generate a record-breaking $166,438,000 in qualified expenditures and below-the-line wages.
While this film aims to be the first Star Wars movie entirely made in California, it’s worth noting that “Return of the Jedi” had some of its exteriors filmed in the state back in the early 1980s. In the current context of California facing a significant $73 billion deficit and an entertainment industry undergoing challenges, “The Mandalorian & Grogu” emerges as a significant job creator, particularly at a time when the industry is navigating through a post-strike landscape.
The Disney/Lucasfilm production takes the lead, surpassing Disney/Marvel’s “Captain Marvel” in terms of qualified expenditures and below-the-line wages that will flow into California’s economy. While “Captain Marvel,” partially filmed in Louisiana, injected $137 million into the California economy during its production in 2018, “The Mandalorian & Grogu” is poised to make an even more substantial impact, offering a glimmer of hope for the industry’s revitalization.
In 2025, Disney will increase the cost of its lowest-priced single-day Walt Disney World ticket to $119, marking a change from the 2024 pricing, where the lowest-priced ticket for a single day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom was $109.
The date-based per-park pricing system implemented by Disney makes direct comparisons challenging; however, on average, most dates are witnessing a $10 price hike for 2025 compared to 2024.
Here is a breakdown of the next few months in 2024 compared to what it will cost in 2025 just as an example of the price increase for next year.

First Ever Tangled Ride – Rapunzelโs Lantern Festival Opening in Fantasy Springs at Tokyo DisneySea
Less than 100 days remain until the highly anticipated opening of Fantasy Springs at Tokyo DisneySea. To build excitement, the Oriental Land Company has unveiled new details about this eighth-themed port, focusing on the world’s first Tangled attraction, Rapunzelโs Lantern Festival, set in Rapunzelโs Forest.
The interior of the Tangled boat ride attraction is showcased in new concept art, offering a glimpse of the magical journey as guests embark on a boat heading towards the Kingdom of Corona. The ride vehicle design was first unveiled by Disney Imagineers at the D23 Expo in 2022.
The current ride description of Rapunzelโs Lantern Festival:
In this attraction, guests enjoy a romantic gondola tour that leads to the annual Lantern Festival, where they follow Rapunzel as she experiences her โbest day everโ and meets Flynn Rider for the first time. Guests will make their way towards the tower where Rapunzel lives, and will find her gazing out of her lofty tower window, singing โWhen Will My Life Begin,โ as Flynn Rider watches on. Rapunzel escapes from the tower and with Flynn Rider at her side, the two develop a strong bond as they visit various locations featured in the film. Rapunzel and Flynn Rider go on to sing โI See the Light,โ and guests are enveloped by the glow of countless lanterns filling the night sky.
Described as a “really fantastic and immersive D-Ticket attraction,” the boat ride is expected to last about 5 minutes, providing guests with a captivating experience as they explore the enchanting world of Tangled.
Fantasy Springs is scheduled to open its gates at Tokyo DisneySea on June 6th, 2024, promising a new chapter of magical adventures for visitors to enjoy.

Starting February 27, 2024, Walt Disney World has implemented a price increase for valet parking at all Disney World Resort Hotels. The new valet service cost is $39, up from the previous rate of $33.
However, it’s important to note that overnight self-parking remains complimentary for guests staying at Disney Resort hotels within Walt Disney World Resort.
