First up: A host of hero-worthy new spaces and experiences inspired by beloved Disney and Pixar films!

The Disney Destiny will debut a first-of-its-kind dining experience celebrating the unforgettable music of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “The Lion King;” an exclusive confectionary themed to Pixar Animation Studio’s “The Incredibles;” and legendary accommodations perfect for relaxing after a day of heroic feats.

The ‘Mane’ Event — A Feast for the Senses
If you’re anything like me, the only thing better than dinner or a show is … well, you guessed it – dinner AND a show! Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King will not only be just that, but it will also join the ranks as a first-of-its-kind Disney dining experience, bringing the iconic songs and legendary moments of the renowned animated classic to life for your family throughout dinner.

So, what can you expect in this all-new family restaurant?

While you dine, live musicians and storytellers will present a musical journey through “The Lion King” soundtrack, using authentic African instruments and theatrical props to represent the story and characters. From productions of “Circle of Life” and “Hakuna Matata,” to a one-of-a-kind mash-up of “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King” and “Be Prepared, the show will be a musical retelling of Simba’s heroic journey to triumph over his villainous uncle and claim his rightful place as king of Pride Rock – and undoubtedly one of your most memorable meals on the high seas!

It’s a Sweet Shop, Darling (That’s a New Feature)
Edna Mode’s lab, where the famed fashion designer from Pixar’s “The Incredibles” films whips up outfits for the world’s most famous Supers, will be transformed into a unique confectionary at the brand-new Edna Á La Mode Sweets aboard the Disney Destiny.

Inspired by the “Auntie Edna” short film, Edna’s sewing equipment will be repurposed as sweet-making devices – and the result is, shall we say… marvelous?!

This dessert spot is sure to be a hit with your family, with handmade gelato, ice cream, cookies, candies and specialty treats served in a space full of bolts of fabric and costume models. And while she never looks back, you might have to do a double-take of the picture-perfect sculptures of both Edna and Jack-Jack — one hard at work, one hungry for “num nums!”

Fuel for Heroic Feats
Just off the Grand Hall — the central hub and gathering space on the Disney Destiny — two casual walk-up cafes will serve a mighty selection of coffee, tea, specialty beverages and snacks. You can fuel up for your heroic ventures onboard at Café Megara, a space that will pay homage to Disney Animation’s “Hercules” with a unique and vibrant “Greco disco” design, or at Café Merida, an area that will be inspired by the flame-haired heroine of Pixar’s “Brave” with its Celtic-centered design.

Hero-Worthy Retreats
A hero’s welcome will be waiting for you aboard the Disney Destiny! Your stateroom will be your home-away-from-home on the high seas – a luxurious retreat where you and your family can rest, reconnect and dream of far-off places.

Like every Disney Cruise Line ship, the Disney Destiny will offer spacious, comfortable and functional staterooms that uniquely meet the needs of your family. Most staterooms will feature Disney Cruise Line’s signature split-bath concept, and many will offer the option of a connecting door between staterooms, making it easy to travel with extended family and friends.

Concierge guests aboard the Disney Destiny will receive a premium level of dedicated service and access to exclusive areas and amenities, including a concierge lounge and private sun deck. Among the concierge staterooms and suites will be four royal suites inspired by “Hercules” and “The Incredibles,” offering accommodations (and views!) of heroic proportions.

DeVilish Delights
What’s black and white and red all over? If you think you may know the answer to this riddle, think again! On the Disney Destiny, you and your friends can have a glamorous night on the town at De Vil’s piano lounge, a lavish affair fit for the bar’s namesake: the fabulously over-the-top villain Cruella de Vil of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “One Hundred and One Dalmatians” and the acclaimed 2021 live action film.

Adorned in her signature color palette of red with accents of black and white, Cruella’s infamous flair for style and wickedly bold attitude will be reflected in the aesthetic of this adult-exclusive lounge. And while an eye-catching spotted piano will steal the show at the center of the space, in true Cruella fashion, this villainous icon will make cameos in some of the can’t-miss design details.

Located just off the Grand Hall, you will be able to wind down in style at De Vil’s with a trendy martini, chic cocktail or glamorous glass of bubbly – an experience that is sure to be anything but “miserable, darling.”

Drink Up, Me Hearties, Yo Ho
At Cask and Cannon, you will join the ranks of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” for an evening of revelry, recreation and — of course — rum!

Inspired by the beloved Disney Parks attractions around the world, this new pub will be an eclectic, yet cozy watering hole furnished with treasures “acquired” (read: pillaged and pilfered) during the pirates’ many voyages around the globe.

Here, you and your fellow buccaneers will regale one another with tales of your high seas’ adventures; cheer and jeer during live televised sporting events; and indulge in an extensive menu of rare, specialty and vintage rums and a selection of “bootlegged” brews developed specially for the venue and served – in true pirate style – straight from the barrel. What say you?!

We Dare Not Stop or Waste a Drop
The AquaMouse, Disney Cruise Line’s signature attraction at sea, will return to the Disney Destiny with a brand-new storyline, “Sing a Silly Song,” filled with encounters with famed Disney villains. Before your family completes the 760-foot-long water ride towering above the upper decks, you will join Mickey and Minnie Mouse on a seemingly ominous trek to the peak of Villain Mountain. But what do you do when faced with some of the most fearsome Disney Animation villains? You sing a silly song of course!

The result – with the help of some pixie dust – is that every chilling encounter turns into a wacky surprise. You and your family are sure to laugh and splash along as the Queen of Hearts (“Alice in Wonderland”), Scar (“The Lion King”), Chernabog (“Fantasia”) and others find themselves in the silliest of situations!

Be Prepared for the Chance of a Lifetime
Aboard the Disney Destiny, you will encounter a fearsome crew of formidable foes throughout the ship — including Maleficent, Dr. Facilier, Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, Mr. Smee and Oogie Boogie — and some of Disney’s most mischievous and misunderstood personalities – like Captain Jack Sparrow, Bruno and Loki. You’ll have the chance to interact with these villains, rogues and mischief-makers during all-new events and activities, as well as some of your favorite Disney Cruise Line programs, from a frighteningly fun dance party in Oogie Boogie’s shipboard lair to interactive Disney trivia that often gets interrupted by a cast of Disney villains.

Happy Haunts Materialize
Foolish mortals will be welcomed to sip spirited craft cocktails among the 999 happy haunts of Disney Parks lore at the Haunted Mansion Parlor, a highly anticipated lounge that will first debut aboard the Disney Treasure this December.

At the Haunted Mansion Parlor, grim grinning guests will sample a selection of ghostly cocktails that capture the spirit of the story, while legendary characters from Haunted Mansion attractions around the world come out to socialize in mysterious ways (along with a few new seafaring arrivals).

Living a Legend – Wakanda Forever
The Grand Hall of the Disney Destiny will be its most striking and prominent gathering space, welcoming you to a world of epic dualities: heroes and villains, adventure and relaxation. Inspired by the rich lore, distinctive style and vibrant palette of Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther” films, the Grand Hall will be Disney Cruise Line’s kingdom on the seas.

Presiding over the Grand Hall will be a stunning statue of T’Challa, the Black Panther: King of Wakanda, devoted son and beloved brother sworn to protect his kingdom — and the Disney Destiny.

Just off the Grand Hall on decks four and five, you will be able to write your own vacation legends at Saga, a central hub for daytime family activities and adult-exclusive evening entertainment. The two-story, state-of-the-art venue will host a variety of interactive shows and events in an elevated environment also inspired by the architecture of Wakanda.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Ship Decorator?
For the first time in Disney Cruise Line history, a Marvel Super Hero will be the signature stern character on the Disney Destiny. This signature larger-than-life sculpture will showcase Spider-Man and his Spider-Bots, who are making a well-meant, if a bit haphazard, attempt at decorating the filigree on the back of the ship with their infamous spider webs.

Supreme Location, Strange Libations
The Sanctum will be Disney Cruise Line’s first lounge inspired by the powerful sorcerers and mystical artifacts of Marvel Studios’ “Doctor Strange.” Like all Sanctorums, this centrally located venue will contain mystical items designed to aid sorcerers in protecting the world – but it will also be home to entertainment; a magical array or cocktails, spirits and coffees; and unique surprises from Doctor Strange’s New York Sanctum, including a circular mirror behind the bar that evokes the building’s iconic window.

Tony Stark-Approved Luxury
In true Iron Man style, the Destiny Tower Suite will take the heroes and villains motif to new heights — literally. This Marvel-inspired penthouse will honor Iron Man with a luxurious take on the sleek, industrial designs of Tony Stark. Set high in the ship’s forward funnel, this one-of-a-kind suite will offer incredible views of the top deck and beyond through an expansive two-story window and nearly 2,000 square feet of living space.

The Destiny Tower Suite and all concierge-level accommodations will receive a premium level of dedicated service and access to exclusive areas and amenities, including the Concierge Lounge and private sun deck. On the Disney Destiny, the lounge will be outfitted with art that celebrates the Avengers, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, and will be inspired by the sophisticated styling of their Manhattan headquarters. This hero-worthy retreat will be the perfect place to relax, sip a cocktail, and enjoy complimentary food and beverages throughout the day.

It’s Time to Save the Galaxy (Again)
The Disney Destiny will also feature two guest-favorite experiences from the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure that are inspired by the Marvel Universe.

Worlds of Marvel, Disney Cruise Line’s Marvel-themed dining experience, will host an out-of-this-world celebration starring the lively duo of Rocket and Groot from the blockbuster Marvel Studios “Guardians of the Galaxy” films. During a tribute to the many Super Heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe who keep the world safe, Groot will take over the proceedings and bring the festivities to the next level, organizing the ultimate surprise party for his friend Rocket — just in time for dessert. The story will unfold onscreen while you eat to the beat of an “awesome mix” of hit songs and test your knowledge of the Marvel Universe with trivia and activities for the whole family.

In Disney’s Oceaneer Club, kids ages 3 to 10 will become the heroes of their own epic Disney adventures at Marvel Super Hero Academy, a high-tech Avengers headquarters where young “recruits” are trained to be the next generation of Super Heroes alongside some of their favorite Avengers.

Epic Entertainment Bringing Disney Lore to Life

Catch dazzling Broadway-style productions of “Frozen, A Musical Spectacular” and “Disney Seas the Adventure” in the Walt Disney Theatre. The Disney Destiny will continue Disney Cruise Line’s innovative family dining concept, where you experience one of three imaginative restaurants each night accompanied by a dedicated service team assigned to your family throughout the voyage, allowing you to truly ‘be our guest!’

In addition to the brand-new Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King and the return of Worlds of Marvel, your family will dine in style at 1923. Named for the founding year of The Walt Disney Company, 1923 will celebrate the legacy of Disney animation in an elegant setting imbued with classic Hollywood glamour. With more than 1,000 drawings, props and other tools of the animation trade on display, the artwork on the Disney Destiny will showcase tales of heroes and villains in “Hercules,” “Sleeping Beauty,” “Big Hero 6,” “Wreck-It Ralph,” and more.

Adult-Exclusive Escapes

Whether you’re looking for fine dining or to treat yourself, the Disney Destiny has a little something for every adult onboard.

A suite of premium dining venues will include Palo Steakhouse, combining authentic Italian dining with the refinement of a modern steakhouse; Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallement, offering gourmet, French-inspired cuisine in a romantic and intimate setting; and The Rose, an idyllic setting for a pre-dinner aperitif or after-dinner cocktail.

Senses Spa will provide a tranquil oasis offering indulgent spa and beauty treatments in private treatment rooms, lavish spa villas, and steam and aromatherapy rooms, while Senses Fitness will offer a state-of-the-art exercise and wellness facility.

‘Main Character Energy’ for Kids, Tweens and Teens

Aboard the Disney Destiny, your children will become the heroes of their own epic Disney adventures. Dedicated spaces for kids of all ages will offer imaginative programming facilitated with the care and expertise of Disney-trained counselors and special playtime with Disney friends.

Disney Teases New Villains Joining Oogie Boogie Bash

Get ready for a villainous takeover! Disneyland Resort has just dropped a major hint: two new villains are joining the Oogie Boogie Bash lineup this year! This Halloween party is set to be more wickedly wonderful than ever, with select dates from August 25 to October 31.

Disneyland Resort just dropped a major clue on Instagram. A teaser featuring a Grecian vase depicting Mount Olympus and the Underworld from “Hercules” has fans buzzing. But the biggest reveal? The vase vanishes in a fiery explosion,hinting at the arrival of the infamous Hades!

After the fiery Hades reveal, the teaser continues with a mysterious figure in a fedora lurking behind an electronic control panel. And the grand finale? A white lab coat on a chair, confirming the arrival of the infamous Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz from “Phineas and Ferb”! Get ready for some truly evil entertainment at this year’s bash.

Who Should Be on the New Lion King Annual Passholder Magnet?

Walt Disney World Annual Passholders are in for a treat- maybe a slimy, yet satisfying one! The official Instagram account has dropped a tantalizing hint about a new magnet inspired by the beloved classic, The Lion King.

The excitement started on July 23 when the account teased a slew of new offerings for Disney’s Animal Kingdom, including the mysterious magnet. Now, thanks to a recently shared clip, we’re getting a clearer picture of what to expect.

While a release date hasn’t been announced yet, it’s clear this magnet will be part of the ongoing Lion King 30th-anniversary celebration. Fans can already enjoy Rafiki and Timon meet-and-greets, special food items, Pandora jewelry charms, and other merchandise related to the iconic film.

The video begins with a playful nod to Timon as an arm resembling his reaches to uncover a plate of food. Walt Disney Company Cuts 140 Jobs from Entertainment Television

Disney Entertainment Television has laid off 140 employees, primarily affecting National Geographic, as part of its ongoing cost-cutting measures.

The layoffs announced months ago but implemented today according to Deadline, represent 2% of the division’s workforce, with National Geographic experiencing a 13% reduction in staff.

Other impacted divisions include ABC Owned Television Stations, Freeform, Unscripted, Marketing, and Publicity, with nearly half of the jobs lost in Burbank, California.
