WDW Resorts – Which Deluxe Resort Is Right For Me?

WDW Resorts - Which Deluxe Resort Is Right For Me?

Over the last two weeks I have discussed the benefits of staying at the Walt Disney World Value and Moderate Resorts. If you still aren’t sure where to stay, then read on for some information about WDW’s top of the line Deluxe Resorts!

Price: These are Disney’s top of the line Resorts, which means the price is (quite a bit) higher per room than at either the Value or Moderate Resorts. The room rates at these Resorts starts at around $260 per night, and going up to $800 or more per night (depending on the type of view and time of year), and then there are suites/villas of all sizes and types, in the $1000-$2000 plus per night range. NOTE: The pricing in this category is very subjective – each Resort’s priced a little bit differently, so you might want to check out WDW’s Official Resorts Website for more information on specific pricing for each type of room.

Happy Anniversary Disneyland – Fun Facts, Dedication Ceremony, and More!

Happy Anniversary Disneyland - Fun Facts, Dedication Ceremony, and More!

When Walt Disney opened Disneyland, the original Disney theme park, on July 17, 1955, he said he hoped it would be “a source of joy and inspiration to all the world.” He famously observed: “Disneyland will never be completed…as long as there is imagination left in the world.”

Since 1955, the Disneyland Resort has welcomed more than 600 million guests. It has expanded to become an approximately 500-acre, world-class, multi-day, family resort destination, complete with two renowned Disney theme parks, three hotels and the exciting shopping, dining and entertainment district known as Downtown Disney.

With the completion in June 2012 of the Disney California Adventure Park expansion, the parks of the Disneyland Resort offer guests more classic characters, more storytelling, more attractions and more of the unique Disney heritage that gives Disney theme parks their special personality.

Disney’s Phineas and Ferb Pair up with Marvel Super Heroes for First Time EVER!

Disney's Phineas and Ferb Pair up with Marvel Super Heroes for First Time EVER!

Production is now underway on “Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel,” an animated adventure that will assemble characters from two hugely popular franchises, Disney’s “Phineas and Ferb” and Marvel’s iconic Super Heroes: Spider-Man and The Avengers (Iron Man, Thor and Hulk). The epic television event, premiering in summer 2013 on Disney Channel, will mark the first crossover animated television special for Marvel and Disney properties. Working closely with Marvel’s creative team, “Phineas and Ferb” creators and executive producers Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh are designing Marvel’s Super Heroes and Super Villains including Red Skull, Whiplash, Venom and M.O.D.O.K. to fit the Danville world of the Emmy Award-winning series.

“Our partnership with Marvel has yielded big returns this year – first with the launch of the Marvel Universe block on Disney XD, and now with production beginning on the Phineas and Ferb / Marvel special. To paraphrase Phineas himself: best year EVER!,” said Gary Marsh, president and chief creative officer, Disney Channels Worldwide.

“‘Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel’ is an exciting animated special for everyone at Disney and Marvel. Bringing together the worlds of ‘Phineas and Ferb’ and Marvel’s The Avengers is a ton of fun for fans of both properties,” said Dan Buckley, Publisher & President of the Print, Animation & Digital Divisions, Marvel Worldwide, Inc. “It’s a thrilling opportunity for these two franchises to take advantage of each other in a way that may go beyond this one special. Fans of all ages are in for a very special treat!”

In “Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel,” Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor and Hulk enter Danville after Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s latest “inator” scheme accidentally removes their powers and immobilizes them. Now it’s up to Phineas and Ferb to team up with the Marvel Super Heroes to help them regain their powers and defeat Marvel Super Villains – Red Skull, Whiplash, Venom and M.O.D.O.K. – who are working together with Dr. Doofenshmirtz to use his power-draining technology to create mayhem.

Phenomenon on Blu-Ray Review

Phenomenon on Blu-Ray Review

Being a Travolta fan, I was excited to finally see Phenomenon. While I can’t say that I loved the movie, I would definitely rate this as a “buy” and not just a “rent” movie.

If I didn’t love it, then why would I buy it? It’s thought-provoking and interesting, but really the best reason I can give you for buying it is the powerful scenes presented between Travolta and Sedgwick’s characters.

George Malley (Travolta) is from a small town where everyone knows everyone. His entire life takes a turn on his 37th birthday when he sees a bright light which helps him see everything so much clearer than before.

He begins to devour books, several in a day. George can suddenly win at chess, speak multiple languages after only briefly studying them, and predict earthquakes. Yet his friends never treat him differently.
