2013 Disney Dining Plan Details Released

Disney released its 2013 Disney Dining Plan, and a couple noteworthy changes are noticeable in comparison to the 2012 Plan.

THE PLAN-2012 VS. 2013

The Plan details for each Dining Plan (Quick Service, Basic and Deluxe) remain the same.  There is an across the board price increase:

  • Quick Service- $34.99 adult/$11.99 child in 2012, now $37.58 adult/$14.32 child in 2013
  • Basic-$51.54 adult/$15.02 child in 2012, now $55.59 adult/$17.16 child in 2013
  • Deluxe-$$85.52 adult/$23.79 child in 2012, now $99.97 adult/$26.84 child in 2013

Several notes are added to the dining plan rules for 2013.  They are as follows:

  • Dining Plan-Automatic Gratuity charge may also be added to your bill for items ordered not included in Disney Dining Plan (For Example:  Alcoholic Beverages)
  • Choosing items from a separate price fixe menu offered at certain locations requires payment of a surcharge in addition to redeeming the number of Table Service entitlements required.
  • Not included are Special Dining Events with special menus offered at certain Table Service Locations.

Disney is also continuing their policy of requiring a credit card hold for certain popular dining spots.  Implemented in late 2011, the policy required cancellation within 24 hours or be accessed a $10 per person fee.  In 2013, cancellation can now be done by 10pm the night before your reservation.

THE RESTAURANTS-2012 vs. 2013
You will notice when comparing the plans there are several restaurants missing from the 2013 list.  Don’t panic yet.  This is most likely due to contract renewal between Disney and the restaurants not taking place until January.   If you call Disney Dining they will tell you they can’t guarantee anything until the restaurants are officially added to the plan.  You may make a reservation at the missing restaurants for 2013.   When the New Year arrives, check again to make sure you are reserving with a restaurant participating in the Disney Dining Plan.
One major change that’s evident is Le Cellier in the Canada Pavilion Epcot.  In 2011 Le Cellier became a Signature Restaurant for dinner only.   Meaning that it required 2 Table Service entitlements.  Lunch remained only one Table Service entitlement.  In 2013 it seems that both Lunch and Dinner at Le Cellier will be Signature Dining.
Also added are some new restaurants with the Fantasyland Expansion and the Art of Animation resort.  Art of Animation’s food court is Landscape of Flavors which opens this summer.  The Fantasyland expansion will offer the Be Our Guest Restaurant.

  1. I tried to get a straight answer from Disney Dining and they were very vague. I am thinking they aren’t quite sure. They assured me that what was covered under the 2012 plan is not going to change in 2013 regarding the Dinner Shows. The Candlelight Processional is included in the Deluxe Dining Plan still. They did say that some restaurants asked that certain special event meals not be covered under the dining plan. But the representative was unable to tell me which restaurants at this time. I’m under the impression that they were unaware these notes were added to the 2013 plan.

  2. What would be considered a “special dining event”? Would this include a Fantasmic meal? or Just things like the Candlelight Processional? Just curious.

  3. Yes the Landscape of Flavors is accepting the plan. In the 2012 brochure it lists as coming soon (It recently openened). So I figured a mention was worthwhile. Sorry for the confustion.
