Disney’s Peter Pan: Diamond Edition coming to Blu-Ray on February 5th!

Watch out everyone! Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, and all of the Darling children will be back before you know it! Peter Pan: Diamond Edition is being released on Blu-Ray, Disney DVD, and Digital Copy on February 5th for a limited time! I don’t know right now how long that will be, but you’ll want to mark your calendars so that you’ll be ready to make your purchase!

In case you are wondering why it isn’t being released until next February, the reason became clear when I did a little digging. It turns out that February 5th, 1953 was the date that Peter Pan was released in theaters, so this will be the 60th Anniversary of this incredible movie being released! While you can’t go get the movie just yet, you can enjoy a little tease, so take a look at the trailer and enjoy!

Disney's Fairies Fashion Boutique App Review

Today, I am sharing my thoughts with you about the Disney Fairies Fashion Boutique App that is available for iOS from the iTunes store. If you have a Tinkerbell or Disney Fairies fan in your house, you’ll want to download this app for your fashionista. What little girl wouldn’t love to dress up her favorite fairies in fun fashions?

This app allows you to choose your favorite fairy and open a boutique to share your fashion love with others in Pixie Hollow. Other fairies visit the boutique to order “custom-made” costumes. As you sell more items, more choices are “unlocked” and soon you have access to more patterns and products to “sell”. Thankfully, your fairy has helpers to fill the orders as they come in. You eventually can unlock more helpers when you have filled more orders. Another plus to this game is that if you have a Pixie Hollow account, you can download your existing information to the Fashion Boutique App.

Mickey Ears Anyone?

How do you do your Mickey Ears? Do you bring the same pair every visit? Buy new ears every time? I have a confession. One that may get me kicked off this site. I don’t own a pair of Mickey Ears. My first trip to Disney was in my late 20’s and I was too cool for Mickey Ears. After that all my trips have been with my family, so we concentrated on ears for the kids. Now that Disney is firmly implanted in my blood, I may have to break down and get a pair.

There are several headgear options at Disney World. I’ve seen “traditional” hats with every theme imaginable, including Goofy Ears and Chip and Dale heads. There are Mickey Ear hats for weddings, birthdays, holidays and more. Lately the big trend has been headband type Mickey Ears. I suppose this is to convince people like me that its OK to act like a kid in Disney World! The headbands still have the Mickey Ears, but are adorned with different themes. Some are have wedding veils, some light up. The list goes on, and if I know Disney they are coming up with new ears every 5 minutes.

Are there many Quick Service breakfast choices at the Disney World Theme Parks?

With so many people taking advantage of the Disney Free Disney Dining Promotion, a lot of questions seem to come up about counter service options in Disney World especially questions about eating Breakfast in the Parks. Where can we go? What options are available? And many more..

Unfortunately there are not many places to go, but all of the parks have at least someplace where you can sit down for a Quick Service Meal. Most places have a selection of Pastries, Muffins, Coffee, Tea and Water. If carbs are not a big deal to you then these places will do just fine, but for me I am more of a Eggs & Bacon Fan so we try to save Quick Service options for Lunch.

Here are the Quick Service Food options located in the 4 Disney World Theme Parks.

Magic Kingdom – Main Street Bakery has one of the most perfect views of Cinderellas Castle. Most times when we have been in here the place has been packed! What we like to do is grab our food and then head over to the tables in front of the Plaza Restaurant. That early in the morning everyone is running to the rides so other than the foot traffic you usually have the area to yourself.

Disney VoluntEARS Help Tow Away Hunger for the Orange County Food Bank

For the fifth year, Disney VoluntEARS had “fuh-un” at the annual Orange County CANstruction event, where they spent nearly six hours “can-structing” our favorite tow truck, Mater, from 5,700 cans of food donated by the Disneyland Resort.

The event, benefiting the Orange County Food Bank, takes place every September in conjunction with the Festival of Children at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, Calif., where structures made entirely out of canned foods are put on display.

Disney VoluntEARS created Mater’s main structure from cans of kidney beans, and eyes and pupils from cans of mandarin oranges, evaporated milk, green beans and salmon. In total, more than 20 types of canned foods were used, and “dadgum,” the design won “Juror’s Favorite!”

Disney launched today “10 Days of Frankenweenie,” a new free level pack for the hit mobile game Where’s My Water? Free. Inspired by Disney’s stop-motion animated film “Frankenweenie,” directed by acclaimed filmmaker Tim Burton, the level pack features new black and white levels that combine the film’s retro look and feel with the gameplay of Where’s My Water?.

Players of Where’s My Water? Free will enjoy the new movie-themed comic panel featuring Sparky, the beloved dog from the film, in addition to the “Frankenweenie”-themed locked level icons, collectibles and more. “10 Days of Frankenweenie” also features a brand-new soundtrack inspired by the film, featuring a child choir, all new music mixes for the levels and spooky sound effects.

From creative genius Tim Burton (“Alice in Wonderland,” The Nightmare Before Christmas”) comes “Frankenweenie,” a heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life—with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new “leash on life” can be monstrous.

A stop-motion animated film, “Frankenweenie” was filmed in black and white and rendered in 3D. The talented voice cast includes: Catherine O’Hara, Martin Short, Martin Landau, Charlie Tahan, Atticus Shaffer, Robert Capron, Conchata Ferrell and Winona Ryder.

ABC Family’s ‘13 Nights of Halloween’ Holiday Programming Event Airing October 19th– 31st

ABC Family scares up 13 NIGHTS OF HALLOWEEN for the 14th consecutive spine tingling year, with programming filled with chills and thrills as you countdown to Halloween. The popular programming event, starting Friday, October 19, and concluding on Wednesday, October 31, features a brand new episode of “Pretty Little Liars” featuring special guest “glampire” Adam Lambert, and the season finale of “Switched at Birth.” The stunt will also include a massive mix of Halloween-themed programming airing for the 13 nights leading up to Halloween.

Following is a listing of frightastic programming taking place October 19-31 during ABC Family’s 13 Nights of Halloween.

Night One – Friday, October 19

I was beyond psyched to see a package sitting on my front porch this afternoon! That’s because I knew what waited for me, inside of that carefully bubble wrapped envelope! It was a copy of Cinderella: Diamond Edition on Blu-ray/DVD for me to review! Yay! I am telling you, this is edition is definitely something you’ll want to add to your collection! You can get your copy October 2nd!

So, we all know and love this timeless tale. The magic, music, and romance is clearly evident in this beautifully remastered Blu-ray version. Putting in the disc and hearing those voices and lyrics felt like putting on my favorite sweater, like a cup of warm soup, or like a hug from a family member…I was home! The movie alone would be enough cause to buy a copy on October 2nd. But today, I am taking this review beyond basics. I’m passing up plot for some purely amazing bonus features. This Blu-ray edition is literally everything I dreamed for! For all my fellow Disney World lovers, you’ll want to keep reading…there is an entire bonus featurette on the Fantasyland expansions!!!! I am seriously like a kid on Christmas morning….let’s unwrap this thing!
