The four concert sets will feature pyrotechnics and special effects and lead up to ringing in the New Year with Mulch, Sweat, and Shears playing live accompaniment to a full scale fireworks spectacular in order to welcome the start of 2013 properly!

Wreck-It Ralph Comes to Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Wreck-It Ralph and Vanellope Von Schweetz, from Disney’s newest animated adventure comedy “Wreck-It Ralph,” in theaters in 3D Nov. 2, will soon make their debut in a new character greeting experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Guests visiting The Magic of Disney Animation attraction will be invited to step through Game Central Station, a key location from the film, where they’ll catch glimpses into various game worlds on their way to a meeting with Ralph and Vanellope in the candy-coated cart racing game, “Sugar Rush.” Look for Ralph and Vanellope to join the Disney’s Hollywood Studios family of stars this November.

About the characters:

Ralph:As the bad guy in the ’80s-era, 8-bit game “Fix-It Felix, Jr.,” Ralph is tired of being overshadowed by the good-guy star of the game. Ralph sets out on a game-hopping journey across the arcade to prove he’s got what it takes to be a hero.

Vanellope: A feisty misfit from the candy-coated cart-racing game “Sugar Rush,” Vanellope Von Schweetz wants nothing more than to join the ranks of the “Sugar Rush” racers.

Club Penguin’s Halloween Party Gets Spookier with Disney Parks Inspired Haunted Mansion and new Halloween Single, “Ghosts Just Wanna Dance”

Ghosts and ghost hunters have taken over Disney’s Club Penguin, the #1 virtual world for kids, in its annual Halloween Party. With over 6 million penguins taking part in last year’s event, Club Penguin’s Halloween Party is the biggest Halloween event online for kids. The fun and fright continues in this year’s event, where players will need to solve the mystery of ghost-researcher Gariwald VIII’s disappearance and uncover the secrets behind his Walt Disney Parks and Resorts-inspired haunted mansion.

While solving the spooky mystery, members can turn into ghosts and haunt the Island, and all players will have the chance to become ghost hunters and catch rogue ghosts.  Players can also listen to the latest Club Penguin single, “Ghosts Just Wanna Dance” and take part in two new spook-tacular scavenger hunts. The Halloween Party will begin on October 18 and run until November 1.

Some haunting highlights of the 2012 Club Penguin Halloween Party include:

  • Spooky Island Transformation: The Island will be overrun with ghosts and it is up to players to protect it by becoming ghost hunters.
  • Walt Disney Parks and Resorts-Inspired Haunted Mansion: This year’s party will feature a new haunted mansion, inspired by the Haunted Mansion attraction found at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. By exploring the 9-room mansion, fans will discover numerous nods to the infamous ride, like the maid and butler costumes worn by Haunted Mansion cast members.

Spider-Man Makes History With New Guinness World Record Title

Spider-Man Makes History With New Guinness World Record Title

I’ve always been a huge fan of Spider-Man, because the character is one of the most relatable characters written. So it’s no surprise that Spider-Man is also one of the most beloved and well known characters around the world. Being such a popular character means that you’re likely to be around for quite a long time, and Spidey has proven just that this year, now that he’s celebrating his 50th birthday at Marvel. Well, Marvel’s favorite wall crawler, Spider-Man, has just gotten an amazing birthday present as well, as he’s now made history by breaking a new Guinness World Record title, but it may surprise you just what title it’s taken home. STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS—STRANGE ALLIES

Check out the latest “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” comic from Dark Horse featuring one of my favorite Star Wars writers Ryder Windham!

With so many Jedi Generals occupied with the Clone Wars, assignments that would usually go to Knights or Masters are falling to Jedi in training–in this case, masterless Padawan Nuru Kungurama. Accompanied by his squad of clone troopers and a hulking swoop biker named Gizz, Nuru’s job begins as a routine protection detail but soon evolves to include a mystery massacre, the hijacking of a space freighter, and the kidnapping of a group of orphaned younglings!
