Top 5 Reasons to Visit Les Chefs de France

Top 5 Reasons to Visit Les Chefs de France

Epcot’s World Showcase is my favorite place to visit at WDW when my stomach begins to rumble, but it can be so hard to choose which restaurant to visit due to the seemingly endless list of choices, menus, and cuisine!

While I have only put a dent in the list of all the dining opportunities available at the World Showcase, some of the restaurants I have visited are now on my favorites list and one of those is Les Chefs de France!

Here are my top 5 reasons why you should visit Les Chefs de France on your next trip!

5. Service-As with most of my World Showcase experiences, the service here was excellent! On my most recent visit to Les Chefs de France, I had one of the best waiters that I have ever had. I think World Showcase servers work twice as hard as they are not only there to deliver Disney quality service, but also to strive to represent their respective nations. Therefore, I highly recommend this restaurant for high quality service which will have you spoiled!

4. Setting-Les Chefs de France is situated on a corner of the France pavilion and looks as if it belongs on a vintage post card! If you can get a table in one of the atriums, you can get a great view of the picturesque France pavilion and Showcase lagoon. This is especially pretty at night! If you don’t get a table with a view, you can still enjoy the elegant interior and French ambiance.

The Mickey Turkey Meatloaf, a Carved Turkey Sandwich, Seared Mahi Mahi and Whole-Grain Macaroni are the first winners of the Mickey Check from the menu at “Be Our Guest”.  Other quick service restaurants will be immediately joining the program and table service restaurants joining the program starting in January 2013.

Disneyland Lowers The Boom On Ticket Renting

Disneyland Lowers The Boom On Ticket Renting

Disneyland’s Parks in California are lowering the boom on guests who “rent” tickets from unauthorized brokers.  A practice that has caused quite a stir out in California and had gotten a lot of attention because it violates Disney’s company policy.

Disneyland has begun to require any guest who presents a 4-day or 5-day park pass to show a photo identification so they can match it with the name on the ticket.  In the past cast members would only spot check for identification.  There are now special turnstiles for 4-day and 5-day pass holders at the parks so that photo IDs can be checked.

This new photo identification mandate is helping Disney enforce the fact that their tickets are “nontransferable”.  Unauthorized scalpers have been renting multiday passes to visitors at a cost of anywhere from $90 to $99 per day.  A Disneyland 1-day resort tickets costs $125.  Up until this time there were up to nine different “unauthorized” ticket brokers renting out passes.

In addition to this new policy Disney is continuing to work on additional technology to resolve this type of unauthorized use of tickets – but nothing specific has been revealed.  Walt Disney World in Florida use biometrics (a fingerprinting scanning system) to check multiday passes for visitors.

Do you think Disney is being too strict on this policy or not?  Let us know what you think!

What is Your “Disney Moment”?

What is Your "Disney Moment"?

What is a Disney Moment?  I’m going to channel my inner Disney therapist and try to explain it.  This isn’t based on any kind of professional training or education, just a few trips to Disney World.

Disney Moment:  A Disney Moment is the Moment you realize you are in Disney. All the worries and cares leave you, and the outside world does not exist.  Cell Phones are only used for line phone apps, the World is at your fingertips with one plastic card, and its OK to wear Mickey Ears.

Your Disney Moment can be anything.  Smells, Sights, Sounds.  Something that clicks inside and you know that you have arrived.  For many of us, arriving at a place we consider “home”.

So what is your Disney Moment?

Barneys of New York and Disney Launch 2012 Holiday Program: Electric Holiday

Barneys of New York and Disney Launch 2012 Holiday Program: Electric Holiday

Barneys New York, the luxury specialty retailer, and The Walt Disney Company, the world’s leading entertainment company, launched the 2012 Holiday project Electric Holiday at the Barneys New York Madison Avenue flagship store. A multi-platform initiative infused with fashion and fantasy, Electric Holiday merges the creativity and magic of Disney with the wit and surprise of the legendary Barneys New York annual holiday project to create a celebration of festive modern electric lights, music and fashion.

“Disney is proud to be part of New York’s holiday magic this year,” said Robert A. Iger, chairman and chief executive officer of The Walt Disney Company. “Together with Barneys, we’ve created a one-of-a-kind experience that combines Disney’s great characters and storytelling with high fashion for a spectacular celebration of the season.”

As part of the Electric Holiday program, 25% of sales from the limited-edition Electric Holiday product collection sold at select Barneys stores and Barneys.com will be donated to the American Red Cross. This is in addition to the $2 million dollars The Walt Disney Company has already pledged to support relief efforts, including $1 million to the Red Cross for immediate relief and an additional $1 million to support rebuilding efforts in Hurricane Sandy affected communities.  In addition, Disney/ABC Television Group organized a national “Day of Giving” on Nov 6 2012, seamlessly integrating outreach messaging across various programming and raising more than $18 million dollars for the American Red Cross.

THE ELECTRIC HOLIDAY WINDOWS

The Electric Holiday program and the Madison Avenue flagship’s windows were unveiled featuring ‘Electric Holiday’, a moving art video starring Minnie Mouse on a fun, fabulous fashion adventure in Paris, along with an array of notable fashion personalities and Disney characters.

“Disney is a magical brand and Barneys New York is a surprising brand.  We feel we’ve captured both the magic and the surprise with this holiday project” said Mark Lee, Barneys New York CEO.   “It has been a dream to collaborate with Disney and we at Barneys are grateful that they found it intriguing to mix characters from our different worlds in this way.”

Alabama Charity Makes Disney Wish Come True For 5 Year Old

Alabama Charity Makes Disney Wish Come True For 5 Year Old

An Alabama non-profit organization gave a five-year old girl being treated with a brain tumor the surprise of her life!  “Cinderella” visited her at the Birmingham airport to tell five-year old Ella Rose Norris that she and her family were flying off to Walt Disney World and visit Cinderella Castle.

Ella was diagnosed with a brain tumor when she was only 18 months old.  Tamara Norris, Ella’s mom said “”Overjoyed. It’s been a long time coming and she deserves it. She so deserves this. She’s fought so hard. So, we’re just happy,”.

Their trip was made possible by “Magic Moments“, a non-profit organization based in Birmingham that helps make non-medical wishes come true for critically ill Alabama children.
