Disney Confidential – Hollywood Studios Making Changes

Anonymouse

Hiya all. Anoymouse here, again. I know I have been busy with all the rumors, gossip, and changes going around Disney the last few weeks. All of it keeping me busy and keeping Chimp , I mean Chip looking good. Today is no different with the rumors. The buzz going around now is about not one but two items closing at Hollywood Studios.

Cast at Disney’s Hollywood Studios are reporting that Disney Channel Rocks! will be having its last performance on April 6th 2013. Disney Channel Rocks! has also been removed from the official calendar for dates beyond April 6th 2013.The show which began in October 2010 is performed multiple times daily, and takes place on a moving stage that travels along Hollywood Blvd.

Also performers at Disney’s Hollywood Studios are also reporting that they have been informed that the afternoon parade ‘Pixar Pals Countdown To Fun!’ will also be having its final performance on April 6th 2013. The parade currently appears on Disney’s official calendar beyond April, and no public announcement has yet been made by Disney.

As we all know Disney is always changing and reinventing. We hope that if the rumors are true that they will replaced with something as good or even better. Have you heard any buzz about these rumors? Feel free to share in the comment box what you have heard or seen.

Throwing an Octonauts Birthday Party

Octonauts Treats
Octonauts Treats

As many of you know, the Octonauts is a new favorite for children on Disney Junior. My 5 year old is no exception.  So when his 6th birthday approached, an Octonauts party was a must.  I agreed wholeheartedly, until I began the search for party supplies.  Nothing online, in the party store, anywhere.  As the show originated in the United Kingdom, all the Octonauts supplies were there.  As we search the internet, my husband and I find tons of DIY ideas for Octonauts decoration, food and favors.  We even got a little creative and came up with a few of our own.

Here is a breakdown of our Octonauts Birthday Party!

Rumors of Food Trucks, Jobs and More coming to Disney Springs

disneyconfidential2

Happy Day to all my friends near and far…look there in the sky, is it a bird, a plane…no it is Anonymouse!  Flying around again just looking for love or gossip.  I have not found my true love yet but I have found lots of crazy gossip from what may be my one true love…Disney.

Several items today so let’s start with…Disney Food Trucks. I have it on good authority that Disney is branching out into Food trucks. Well, maybe not GOOD authority…but Chimp Chip wants it to be so, and so it will be. Plus, TheDailyCity.com’s Ken Story reports that along with sporting a “Food Truck Row” logo on what appears to be a new list of vendors, one of Orlando’s main food truck builders has a “mystery client” who rush ordered 10 “highly themed” food trucks.

A Villain and Hero Highlight Star Wars Weekends 2013

Disney Star Wars

One of Mickey Mouse’s favorite things about Star Wars Weekends is that he gets to dress in his Jedi best and join the galactic fun. Each year, Mickey seems to take on a different role in the official “Star Wars” Weekends logo. This year, his imagination takes him to the Forest Moon of Endor, where he is seen zipping away from scout troopers with Chip and Dale. Mickey’s wild speeder bike ride on this year’s artwork has historical significance, as 2013 marks the 30th anniversary of “Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi” — the film that featured the Battle of Endor.

In addition to unveiling the logo for this year’s event, we’re excited to announce a pair of celebrity appearances for “Star Wars” Weekends 2013 at Walt Disney World Resort, with two legends from the saga doubling the fun in two consecutive weekends.

Action star Ray Park, who portrayed the Sith warrior Darth Maul on the silver screen, will be one of the celebrity guests in Weekends I and II. Actor Warwick Davis, known to “Star Wars” fans as everyone’s favorite Ewok, Wicket W. Warrick, will be one of the guests during Weekends II and III.

Disney Infinity Pushed Back from June Release to August

disney_infinity_logo

Over the past few months, we’ve been hearing a lot about Disney Interactive’s new game and platform, ‘Disney Infinity‘. The more I see from it, the more excited I get to play it. But unfortunately, it looks like we’re going to have to wait a little long than expected to get our hands on the game. Disney interactive has announced that the game, which was originally slated for a June release to coincide with ‘Monsters University’, has been pushed to August 18, 2013, and August 20, 2013, overseas. Co-President of Disney Interactive John Pleasants said that retailers were so happy with the reaction that the game was getting that they started to question if it would be better released closer to the start of the Holiday season, which begins in October.

Video game delays are nothing unusual in the business, and it shouldn’t cause alarm that the game is in trouble. Pleasants went on to say that “We could deliver in June if we wanted to. Will a two-month timing change help us? Sure, of course. It gives us a little more time to add bells and whistles and make sure it really sings and pops.” I’m willing to take his word on this, because so far, the game seems to handle very well, and it looked right on track for its June release. It’s a bummer that we’ll have to wait longer, but if it makes the game even better out the gate, I’m not upset over it. Are you excited for ‘Disney Infinity’? Are you upset over the date change, or does it not bother you at all? Let me know in the comments below, only here at Chip and Company, and hit the jump to see trailer for the game, as well as its Cars Expansion.

Sign #101 You are a Disney Addict

One of the signs of a Disney Addict is obsession with Disney Parks on TV.  Old sitcoms and the Travel Channel are all fair game.  Anything to get a glimpse of one of your favorite places in the world to visit.

There are several options to immerse your television into the Disney Parks.  Old Sitcoms like Roseanne and Full House repeat episodes that were filmed in the parks.  Travel Channel will run specials on each Park or the history of Walt Disney.  My Yard Goes Disney is often shown and they visit imagineers at the Parks.  Food Channel is another spot to find a band-aid for the Disney Addiction.  Guy Fieri’s Christmas Special is a must watch every year!

You can search Disney on your cable guides and set up the DVR.  Another great resource is the website simply titled Disney Theme Parks on TV.  This site will take you to the weeks showings of anything Disney Park Related!  You can even set up a weekly email alert.

I know I am among friends and fellow Disney Addicts so you won’t judge!  What are your favorite Disney TV finds?

Chip’s Tip: Do you miss Stacey when you aren’t at the resorts? You Disney Addicts know who I’m talking about…look for her doing her thing on You Tube.

Coming to Disney Television in 2013 – 2014

CRASH, GARY MARSH (PRESIDENT AND CHIEF CREATIVE OFFICER, DISNEY CHANNELS WORLDWIDE)

Disney recently had a big event to discuss all the current and upcoming Disney television shows. At the top of this post has all the information for how well Disney has performed this past year. My favorite part is all the new programming at the middle of the article. Scroll down to see what is coming to the Disney Channel, Disney Junior, Disney XD and more…

Gary Marsh, president and chief creative officer, Disney Channels Worldwide, said, “We remain focused on delivering distinctively Disney quality programming to kids and families around world and are invigorated by the remarkable viewer response we’ve seen across all key demographics over the past year.”

Marsh announced that the 24-hour Disney Junior channel, which accepts select sponsorships, will begin reporting Nielsen ratings as of April 1, 2013. The channel marks its first anniversary this month.

Mickey Mouse 2-D Shorts are Coming Back!

MICKEY MOUSE

Have you been missing seeing the Mickey Mouse cartoons on TV? Good news! They are coming back to the small screen. As Disney tries to bring back Mickey Mouse’s popularity to it’s hey day they will be showing 19 different 2-D cartoons on the Disney channel as well as on disney.com and the Watch Disney app.

Starting on June 28th, you will once again enjoy Mickey and a few of his famous friends (I am hearing rumors that in addition to his true-love Minnie, that Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy and Pluto all have plans to appear with their buddy Mickey).

The plan is for the shorts to bring you back to the days of founder Walt Disney, highlighting Mickey’s playful qualities.

“Over time we thought that maybe Mickey lost some of those impish or innocent qualities, that vitality that people once saw in him. So we decided to bring him back,” Bob Iger, Walt Disney Co.s CEO said.

If you visit Disney.com there is a snippet of one of the new cartoons so you can check that out HERE.
