Final Trailer for ‘The Lone Ranger’ Revealed

Lone-Ranger-Banner-550x287

We’re in the final stretch coming up on Disney’s release on their newest film, ‘The Lone Ranger’, which opens on July 3, 2013. So this is the time when the marketing goes into overdrive, just to make sure people remember that the film is on the horizon. With that in mind, Disney has released a final trailer for the film, which stars Armie Hammer and Johnny Depp as the popular heroes of The Lone Ranger and Tonto, respectively. Also starring Tom Wilkinson, William Finchter, and Helena Bonham Carter, the film is a new take on the popular pulp duo, as they first come together, and become the men we know them to be. It’s been a long time we’ve had a western on the big screen, so it’ll be great to dive back into the old west. The film is directed by ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ trilogy director Gore Verbinski, and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. Are you excited for ‘The Lone Ranger’? Let me know in the comments below, and hit the jump for the newest, and final, trailer for the film.

Anonymouse

Hey there guys and gals, Anonymouse here! It’s a great day for some Disney gossip, don’t ya think? Well, I had to search high and low to find this to share with you, but I think you’ll be pretty excited to hear the news! Soarin’ Over the Horizon may be coming to Disney California Adventure Park and Epcot in 2016.

My Disney friends are talking about a long-anticipated update to the Soarin’ attractions at Disney California Adventure and Epcot. Although you may have heard this before, we are now hearing they are expected to be updated and open in 2016.

The new version of the Soarin’ attractions will debut at Shanghai Disneyland with the name “Soarin’ Over The Horizon”. It is expected to use the current Soarin’ ride system, but will dramatically expand the scope of the current ride movie, which as of now only shows a range of areas in California.

Should I Rent A Car For My WDW Vacation?

CarRental

The question of “should I rent a car?” is a big one when it comes to planning out your Walt Disney World vacation, and before you can answer it, you might want to ask yourself these questions:

Will You Visit The World Outside of WDW? There is PLENTY to do at Walt Disney World, but if you decide you want to venture off property, then you will be rewarded with many many more entertainment and dining options, many people choose to travel to beaches, Universal Studios, the Kennedy Space Center, or Downtown Orlando while visiting WDW, and the easiest way to get to these places is by car, so I highly recommend you rent a car if you decide to experience the world outside of Disney.

Hidden Mickeys: A Field Guide to Walt Disney World’s Best Kept Secrets, 6th Edition Review

Hidden Mickeys: A Field Guide to Walt Disney World’s Best Kept Secrets, 6th edition by Steven Barrett is now available! You can pick up your copy of the latest edition of the Hidden Mickeys book and be part of the Hidden Mickey craze! This Hidden Mickey guide is set up as a scavenger hunt throughout the Walt Disney World Resort.

According to Barrett, here is the definition of an official Hidden Mickey: “a partial or complete image of Mickey Mouse that has been hidden by Disney’s Imagineers and artists in the designs of Disney attractions, hotels, restaurants, and other areas.” Barrett explains in his book that Hidden Mickeys likely began in the late 1970’s or early 1980’s during the construction of Epcot when Disney management wanted to keep Mickey and Minnie only in Magic Kingdom.

Radiator Springs Comes to Life at Disney California Adventure

Cars

The Happiest Place on Earth is now even happier with the addition of, the largest piece of a five-year expansion at Disney California Adventure Park. Cars Land, which opened in June, 2012, features 12 acres of immersive excitement and freewheeling fun for everyone as it brings the town of Radiator Springs to life, just as guests remember it from the Disney●Pixar movie “Cars.”

Cars Land invites guests to take the off ramp right into Radiator Springs, “the cutest little town in Carburetor County,” where they will enjoy three family attractions showcasing places and characters from the movie: Luigi’s Flying Tires, Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree and Radiator Springs Racers, one of the largest and most elaborate attractions created for a Disney theme park.

The “Cars” gang gathers to prepare visitors for the big race in Radiator Springs Racers, the high-octane, indoor/outdoor adventure that revs through the beautiful mountains of Ornament Valley. Guests board cars, each with their own personality, for a scenic road trip that takes them through Radiator Springs, with a stop at either Luigi’s Casa Della Tires or Ramone’s House of Body Art. After getting some final racing tips from Doc Hudson, the cars zoom over the roadways in a nose-to-nose, high-speed race, never knowing which car may win.

Elsewhere in Cars Land, Luigi invites guests to test-drive his new shipment of Fettuccini-brand “Cuscino D’Aria” tires – which are just like riding on air (or being on an enormous air hockey table).  At this festival of flying tires, riders lean left and right aboard Luigi’s Flying Tires, floating and bumping along in a 21st century attraction reminiscent of the classic Disneyland Flying Saucers attraction. Festive music adds to the fun.

NFL Star Drew Brees Kicks Off Tournament at Disney

Drew Brees

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees’ first football academy arrives at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex next month. The prestigious three-day academy is open to all skill levels but is expected to attract some of the most highly-ranked high school football players in America from June 27-30.

Some of the high schools participating in the Passing Academy and 7on7 Tournament are Cocoa, Oviedo, Admiral Farragu Academy, Archbishop Carroll, Orange Park, Dr. Phillips, Leesburg and Cardinal Newman. Teams from as far away as California are scheduled to compete, along with teams from throughout the southeast.

Young football athletes will receive elite-level instruction from Brees and other marquee NFL players and coaches. The academy participants will learn insider tips related to virtually every facet of the passing game, from the proper throwing motion to throwing on the run to taking command of the huddle, from one of the NFL’s elite quarterbacks.

Additionally, the athletes will have the unique opportunity to immediately put what they have learned to the test by taking part in two days of intensely-competitive 7-on-7 competition, a format which has been widely credited with helping accelerate the development of several current young NFL starting quarterbacks.

Choosing which Disney World Park to Visit

Disney What's New

Choosing which Disney World Park to visit each day on your vacation can be difficult.  Different Disney guests choose which park they will visit each day in different ways.  Some will use a plan found in a guide book.  Some will base it on Extra Magic Hours.  Others will use Touring Plans or another site that gives historical data and helps you choose the lowest crowds.  Others will just choose because they don’t know any better.  But have you ever considered choosing your park based on the days weather?

If you wake up and it’s a beautiful, sunny, Florida day, I would suggest heading to the Magic Kingdom.  The pretty skies and sunny weather will make the outdoor attractions like Astro Orbiter, Dumbo the Flying Elephant and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad perfect.  There are also so many great photo opportunities at the Magic Kingdom, especially with the New Fantasyland opened, where blue skies will make the shot amazing.
