“The View” will broadcast live from the Disneyland in Anaheim, California November 18-22. The announcement was made  this morning on “The View”.  Mickey Mouse walked on stage to cheers from the audience.

This is the first time “The View” will broadcast live from the Disneyland Resort.

“We’re thrilled to welcome ‘The View’ and their fans to the Disneyland Resort, and we can’t wait to see how they show off their ‘Disney side,'” said Michael Colglazier, President, Disneyland Resort. “What better way to showcase the magic and energy of the ‘Happiest Place on Earth,’ than through a live broadcast of one of America’s favorite daytime TV shows.”

Wetzel’s Pretzels is Closing in Downtown Disney

P1110580

Wetzel’s Pretzels and Haagen-Dazs at Downtown Disney will close on October 19 2013.

The location will then close to start construction on Starbucks, which is set to open in Spring of 2014. A Wetzel’s Pretzels and Haagen-Dazs kiosk will open at the end of the year near to Disney Quest.

This is just another step in the Downtown Disney transformation to Disney Springs. I think Disney Springs is going to be a great improvement. It will double the number of shops and restaurants. There will be more shopping, revenue, jobs etc. Did I mention more shopping?  I am always up for more shopping, or window shopping in my case.

Disney and Wet Seal Debut New ABC Family Product Line

Disney Consumer Products (DCP) and ABC Family, in collaboration with Wet Seal, today announced a millennial lifestyle brand called ‘Crush by ABC Family.’ This new collection will offer an assortment of apparel and accessory styles inspired by the female characters of popular ABC Family shows. A first of its kind for Wet Seal.

“The passion and enthusiasm our viewers have for our series and iconic characters is only matched by their passion for the trendsetting fashion of our shows,” said Kate Juergens, Executive Vice President, Original Programming and Development and Chief Creative Officer, ABC Family. “Fans are always asking -‘how can I get ‘that’ look?’ and I’m so happy we can now respond…’go to Wet Seal.’ This a wonderful collaboration that enables us to further extend the connection our fans have with their favorite characters.”

The first collection this fall will feature fashions inspired by characters from ABC Family’s shoes. Each of the items in the collection is designed specifically based on a character’s personality and individual style:

  •  ABC Family’s breakout hit The Fosters, which was the summer’s #1 new cable television series with women 12-34(1), is represented in the collection through looks inspired by Callie (played by Maia Mitchell), a tough girl with a tender heart. — Callie influences the collection with casual, easy styles that have a boho flair. Her collection is threaded in earthy colors and bohemian influenced patterns, as well as classic silhouettes that reflect hope and optimism as she is embraced in the Foster family.
  •  Inspired by the eclectic style and fierce independence of Switched at Birth‘s street-artist Bay (played by Vanessa Marano), key pieces of the collection are grounded in a darker palette with a mix of edgy styles and silhouettes. — A passionate romantic often caught in love triangles, Bay is embodied in this collection, which is layered with dark romantic prints and graphics. Her rebellious nature influences the structure of moto-style jackets worn with brocade print dresses and maxi skirts.
  • In Twisted, the popular and sophisticated Lacey (played by Kylie Bunbury) is the recognized fashionista of the show, inspiring new silhouettes and fabrications to classic feminine dressing. — Lacey’s determination to always be perfect and maintain her hard-earned social stature is represented in the pairing of graphic tops with sleek pencil skirts. Lace insets and unexpected embellishments add a unique twist to these classic feminine looks.
  • The classic girl-next-door from hit comedy Baby Daddy, Riley (played by Chelsea Kane) brings pretty and feminine style to this collection. — Through modern florals and prints, paired with clean, casual silhouettes, pieces are inspired by her fun-loving attitude but ambitious legal mind. Flirty skirts, dresses and skinny denim paired with floaty tops and cardigans reveal Riley as a romantic at heart.

“This is a very innovative collaboration unlike anything Wet Seal has done in the past. The team has worked to craft fashions and marketing programs that will drive exciting buzz around two very well-known brands,” said John D. Goodman, chief executive officer of The Wet Seal Inc. “We know that the ‘Crush by ABC Family’ collection will directly appeal to our customer, as she will now have access to the closets of her favorite ABC Family characters.”

A Look inside Disney’s Frozen

frozen

FROZEN is the newest 3D animated film to be released by the Walt Disney Studios at the end of November.

WD Animation Studios and Screenwriter, Jennifer Lee borrowed from the basic storyline of Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale, The Snow Queen.  Adding their own unique magic and a bit of pixie dust, the story is transformed into the studio’s next hit movie.

FROZEN is full of twists and turns that take the characters from one adventure to another, meeting mystical trolls, a snowman and a pet reindeer, along the way.  Full of humor, innocence and new characters to love.

The events of the day provided the opportunity to meet and hear from various departments.   The extensive amount of hard work, dedication and expertise needed to make FROZEN is evident in every session.

The Art Direction team traveled to Norway where they found beautiful stave churches (country churches) full of rustic charm and elegance to use as the inspiration for Arendelle.  The castle was set in a fjord (a vertical rock formation) that provides a perfect setting for the eternal winter scenes.   Along with beautiful sites and ideas for the castle, The artists also discovered Rosemaling (which is rustic painting or folk art).   Rosemaling’s intricate designs used throughout the movie in varying degrees from buildings to character clothing provide just the right touch of elegance.

The Animation Department provided insight into the nuances required for each character.  During Elsa’s song, Let it Go, animators were challenged in the art of animating, Elsa’s every movement and expressions.  From the way her breathing and diaphram are visible through the costume to the various emotions during the song, the animators had the difficult task of making each movement realistic and believable.

In the Rigging Lab, CG Supervisor, Frank Hanner, along with Rigging Supervisor, Greg Smith and Simulation Supervisor, Keith Wilson provided an informative session.  Rigging lab takes digital models of the characters and start by building the skeleton, attaching muscles and skin.  The next step is to build a set of controls for the animators to push and pull the body and face into the desired positions.  Rigging also includes the simulations needed for clothes and hair.  A fun, learning hands-on computer experience gave visitors the opportunity of controlling and modifying Olaf.

The use of specially equipped motion cameras with LED lights allowed the FX crew to enter the virtual world and track motion.  Unlike the traditional computer software, this method allows for smooth transition between each frame.

FROZEN comes to theatres on November 27, 2013

heatres – November 27, 2013, FROZEN is a must see for Disney movie fans, young and old.

New Info About Fastpass+

my magic

Hola! Yes it is me the infamous Anonymouse! I know you missed me! Well, everyone is all in a tizzy over the Magicbands and Fastpass+ so I figured I would add some fuel to the fire with some new things I have heard about Fastpass+.  Apparently Chippy does not have as much pull as he thinks he does because he has not been able to get me into the Fastpass+ trials that have been going on.

Anyway back to the topic. I have been hearing that Fastpass+ is not all it’s cracked up to be. There have been so many people booking Fastpass+ that there are no paper fastpasses for the people at the parks that have not been lucky enough to get Fastpass+ yet. So needless to say that leads to a lot of guests not feeling so magical. They are trying to find a balance between both, but not sure how permanent that is since I heard that once Fastpass+ is totally rolled out that paper Fastpasses will be gone.

Remember guys and gals this is all just gossip at this point. Nothing is set in stone yet. You know that as soon we know you will know.

Anywho, that is all the Disney gossip I have for now. For my past gossip articles be sure to check them out here. Got any good gossip/rumors please email me at [email protected] or on my Facebook page.

Lady Gaga and The Muppets Collaborate on Holiday Special

The Muppets
The Muppets

The Muppets

Lady Gaga and The Muppets recently shot a television holiday special together for ABC. Details are not being released at this time but I am sure it will be colorful.

If you remember she once wore an outfit made from plush Kermit toys, so she is clearly a big fan of The Muppets. The collaboration will be the her second holiday themed special for ABC. In 2011, she hosted (and directed) A Very Gaga Thanksgiving. Guests included Katie Couric, Art Smith and Tony Bennett.

Will you be tuning in?

‘The Fifth Estate’ Review

The Fifth Estate
The Fifth Estate

The Fifth Estate

In an age where everyone wants to know everything, it’s no shock that some people took that to an extreme.  Julian Assanage, to some, may be one of those people with his creation of Wikileaks, a website dedicated to revealing the truths of businesses, governments, banks, and more, that he felt the public deserved to know. The creation of the website, as well as Assanage’s ways of handling the information, has been an extremely controversial topic, so of course a movie based around the events of its creation will be as well.  But we have to look away from the controversy of the site itself to look at the film, which stars Benedict Cumberbatch (SherlockStar Trek Into Darkness) as Assanage, and Daniel Bruhl (Inglorious Basterds, The Bourne Ultimatum) as Daniel Domscheit-Berg, the man Assanage brings in to help with the creation of the site. The film is based around Domscheit-Berg’s novel, Inside WikiLeaks: My Time with Julian Assange and the World’s Most Dangerous Website, as well as Wikileaks: Inside Julian Assanage’s War on Secrecy by David Leigh and Luke Harding, and is directed by Bill Condon.

Many are already trying to compare the film to David Fincher’s 2011 film, The Social Network, which followed Mark Zuckerberg’s story on the creation of Facebook. But where that film wisely decided to focus on Zuckerberg’s relationships with the other creators of Facebook, The Fifth Estate can’t seem to find a focus. It’s not really about Assanage, Daniel, or Wikileaks itself. It wants to be all of these things at once, which hurts the films structure and what it wants to accomplish. Because of this, we never really get a real understanding what side of the this story the film wants to take, as it continually bounces around between Assange and Daniel’s very difficult working partnership, Daniel’s personal life, while the growing concern of Wikileaks to the world seems to take a backseat. The film tries to stuff far too much into a short span of time, taking three years worth of story and shoving it into just over two hours, which shows the film may have been better suited for a TV miniseries than one film.

While the story may be a bit messy, the film really stands strong because of its excellent performances by Cumberbatch and Bruhl, who really are the anchors of the film. Assanage has publicly ridiculed the film and its depiction of him, but honestly, I wonder how far off it is. Cumberbatch is incredibly good as Julian, and he brings a very layered performance to the character. We see him playing a very smart, determined man is scarred by his past, and will stop at nothing to make sure he gets what he wants. Even if it means putting the lives of people in danger, for better or for worse. He’s a very flawed individual, but Cumberbatch plays it so well, he’s great to watch, commanding our attention in every scene he’s in. Bruhl fares just as well as Daniel Domscheit-Berg, a man who is brought into Julian’s rather twisted world, and at first sees it as a good thing, but quickly realizes that it may not be. His performance is very good, and he gets to show a more human side to his character, where we get to see his relationship with his girlfriend, albeit being too brief. The toll it takes on him is huge, and you can see it really tears him up inside as Julian’s plans really begin to destroy people’s lives. The climax of the movie especially, where Daniel is forced to take matters into his own hands and try and stop Julian, comes off as the most heartbreaking part of the film for Daniel, and Bruhl really digs into the pain and sacrifice it must have caused Daniel to feel in that moment.

The film is also surrounded with great character actors such as Stanley Tucci, Peter Capaldi, Anthony Mackie, David Thewlis, and Laura Linney, but their characters really aren’t given enough to work with to make them memorable. Tucci in particular, who is almost always a standout in the films he makes, is forgettable and underutilized here. It’s very disappointing seeing so many great actors not used to great effect. Thewlis, Capaldi, and Linney all fare the best here, each getting enough screen time to make them at least memorable in some sense. Thewlis in particular as Nick Davies, a man who works at The Guardian, and wants to help Wikileaks with the way they release their information. He’s a delight in the film, and the screen time he shares with Cumberbatch and Bruhl is great.

One thing the film does posses, other than excellent acting, is incredible editing. This is a very well put together movie, that features some great uses of technological. From the opening moments, where we see a montage going back as far as cave paintings to the present use of computers to share information, to showing the idea of what Wikileaks, and the world wide web itself might look like, is very interesting. It has a very cool stylistic touch, using lots of text in new and interesting ways, which really makes the film cool to watch. Honestly, it’s so well done, it could easily get a nomination for editing at the Academy Awards this years. The film’s pacing is mostly good, but it does start to drag in the middle, as the story really bounces around its focus too much. This is really the film’s biggest downfall, and is really what hurts it in the end. As mentioned before, that lack of focus really makes the story seem far too jumbled, which may turn some viewers off. But for others, the lack of focus, and therefore not making a stand on whether Wikileaks is good or bad, may make some more at ease with the film. By not taking a side, it stands as a neutral party, just trying to tell the story of the site’s creation, and the people behind it.

While we may never know the full story behind the creation of wikileaks, The Fifth Estate does a more than satisfactory job on giving us an idea of how it happened. The film meanders in the middle, not quite sure where it wants to go or what it wants to stay, but it doesn’t change the fact that the film has an excellent first and third act. It really does bring up interesting ideas, especially with the idea that in a world where we want to know everything, when do we go to far in revealing information? The film is far from perfect, but it’s a very enjoyable film, bolstered by its excellent cast, particularly from it’s leads, Benedict Cumberbatch and Daniel Bruhl. Recommended.

Camp Minnie-Mickey Set to Close

Lion

We have some bad news for you. We have received word that Camp Minnie-Mickey will close in 2014. Disney has not released a specific date yet but as soon as we know you will know.

Avatarland will be taking over all of the Camp Minnie-Mickey space when it opens in 2017. Don’t worry, Mickey and Minnie have already been moved to a new spot at the Adventures Outpost. Also Festival of the Lion King will be moved to a brand new building so no worries there either.

Other than the character Meet & Greets and Lion King that area has always seemed so empty, so this should be a major improvement for the Animal Kingdom.

Let us know what you think in the comment box below.
