Disney Infinity “Tangled” Toy Boxes Now Available

Disney Interactive is releasing the winners of the Disney Infinity “Tangled” Toy Box challenge. Players were tasked with building new Toy Boxes inspired by the popular film “Tangled” and were encouraged to use their Rapunzel Toy Box Chests, which include her Tower, and Rapunzel themed power discs to enhance their creations.

Winning “Tangled” submissions include:

Rapunzel’s Rumble – Rapunzel vs. Ruffians & Thugs: Return to your tower! Rules: 1 player only. Use only the items found within the level.

Hidden Worlds – A Tangled tribute to the Disney game of the same name. Find four items: the flamingo, golden flower, tiki statue and plush hearts.

Tangled Hair – Ride up and down leftover strands of Rapunzel’s hair to get to the top of the tower.

Maximus Speed – Rapunzel wants to see the lanterns, but they’ve already started! Get her and bring her to see them before they’re over.

Tangled Race – Race around the kingdom and visit Rapunzel’s tower! Good luck!

How to download new Toy Boxes:

Select “Toy Box” from the Disney Infinity Main Menu

Select “Toy Box Share” and “Disney’s Toy Boxes.”

There will be a list of all the featured Toy Boxes for players to download.

When you’re ready to submit your Toy Box for consideration, follow these directions:

Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U

Bring up the Pause Menu and select “Online/Multiplayer.”

Then select “Toy Box Share” > “Disney’s Toy Boxes” > “Submit to Disney.”

Follow the prompts. You’ll be asked to give your Toy Box an original name and description. Choose carefully – they will be shown to everybody if your Toy Box is featured.

Liv and Maddie renewed for a second season!

Disney Channel announces a second season pickup for the twin-tastic show Liv and Maddie!

Identical twins Liv and Maddie Rooney (with each role played by Dove Cameron) will return for a second season in the hit comedy series, “Liv and Maddie.” It was announced today by Adam Bonnett, Executive Vice President, Original Programming, Disney Channel. Production will resume in Los Angeles in March. Season two is scheduled to premiere in fall 2014.

Year to-date, the series ranks as TV’s #1 telecast in its time period across major youth demos, and in 2013, was the #2 series across all TV in Kids 2-11 (2.1 million/5.4 rating) and #3 TV series in Kids 6-11 (1.7 million/7.3 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (1.6 million/6.7 rating).

In making the announcement Bonnett said, “‘Liv and Maddie has quickly become a Disney Channel fan favorite and our viewers have connected with Dove Cameron in her dual role, as well as the rest of the Rooney family. Season two will continue to make families laugh with relatable and engaging stories.”

The series follows 16-year-old identical twin sisters Liv, a Hollywood star who has returned home to Wisconsin, and Maddie, a hometown basketball star, as they experience the highs and lows of high school, bothersome brothers and each other’s differences. In addition to Cameron, it stars Joey Bragg and Tenzing Norgay Trainor as younger brothers Joey and Parker Rooney, respectively; Kali Rocha as mom, Karen Rooney; and Benjamin King as dad, Pete Rooney.

Alice in Wonderland 2 – Through the looking Glass Updates

Sacha Baron Cohen is reportedly in talks with Disney to join the upcoming “Alice in Wonderland” sequel, “Through the Looking Glass.”

It is being reported that Sacha Baron Cohen will play the villain in the movie. The sequel is said to star Johnny Depp and Mia Wasikowska, both are from the first movie. Details beyond that are not known at this time.

“Alice in Wonderland” was released in 2010 and was directed by Tim Burton. The movie was a huge hit and made over $1 billion worldwide. The movie went on to get nominated for 3 Academy Awards, it won two for Best Art Direction and Best Costume Design.

Disney has the plot details for “Through the Looking Glass” undercover. The movie is supposed to open on May 27, 2016.

Top 5 Musical Hot Spots at Walt Disney World

If you’ve visited Walt Disney World in the past and never venture away from the parks themselves (besides your own resort of course), then you may be thinking to yourself – “Wait, Disney World has musical ‘hot spots’?” I too would have given you a funny look if you told me they did several years ago, but I’ve happily discovered that Disney World does offer some live musical entertainment outside of the parks that can be enjoyed by all. So, here are my Top 5 Musical Hot Spots at Walt Disney World.

Port Orleans Riverside – After hearing so much about YeHaa Bob, I just had to make the boat trip over to Port Orleans Riverside to see what the fuss was all about not too long ago. Boy, I’ve been missing this great entertainment for years and now I’m kicking myself for not discovering it sooner! If you’re like I was, you’re probably now thinking to yourself ‘Who in the world is this YeHaa Bob guy and why should I take the time to go see him?’ Well, Bob puts on a great musical comedy show filled with family-friendly humor, sing-alongs and of course, crowd embarrassment, er, I mean crowd participation. Bob performs at the River Roost Lounge Bar Wednesday through Saturday beginning at 8:30pm.

Port Orleans French Quarter – If you’re into Jazz music, then be sure to hop on over to Port Orleans French Quarter to catch Tom Casey at Scat Cat’s Club, but he’s only there Friday through Monday at 8:30pm, 9:30pm and 10:30pm. I haven’t had the chance to check out Tom’s performance since he’s only been there since last summer, but from what I’ve heard his musical style is mix of guest requests and pop/rock accompanied by the piano.

Jellyrolls (Board Walk) – Although we’ve never ventured into Jellyrolls, I’ve heard nothing but great things about this dueling piano bar. It’s a 21 and up bar with a $12 cover charge (ID is required), so it’s not free musical entertainment, but they say it’s well worth the cover charge to get in. Just get there early to get a table, as it is a pretty happening place each night. The doors typically open at 7PM. This will be on my to-do list for our next trip.

Grand Floridian – Just walking into the Grand Floridian and hearing the Grand Floridian Society Orchestra makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. They orchestra plays a mixture of ragtime, Dixie, traditional jazz and popular Disney tunes for your listening enjoyment. I’ve even seen people dancing in the lobby as the orchestra plays. So, grab a chair in the lobby and just relax (or nap) as you listen to the wonderful music.

Downtown Disney – It’s obvious that the development of Disney Springs is already affecting the nightly entertainment and some acts have been moved to other spots in Downtown Disney, others have apparently disappeared altogether. But, Downtown Disney still has musical options for everyone in the family. The House of Blues features a musician playing an acoustic set outside in the evenings, there is usually a dance party for kids across from the World of Disney store and you can typically find a local band performing in the Pleasure Island area (although they have moved around a lot of the performers who were found in this area). I hope that Disney will keep some of this entertainment around as they develop Downtown Disney and bring even better musical entertainment in once Disney Springs is completed.

Wilderness Lodge is Back on the AAA Four Diamond List

Disney World’s Wilderness Lodge has made it’s way back on AAA’s four diamond list. It is 1 of 7 properties in Florida to be added to the prestigious list this year.

This beautiful resort was inspired by turn-of-the-century national park lodges. It is known for its log-cabin theme.

A little history, The Wilderness Lodge first made it on the four-diamond hotel in 1996. It is not known when or why they fell of of the list.

Disney’s “Muppets Most Wanted” Joins Forces with Toyota

The Muppets gang is in for a wild ride when they join forces with Toyota this year, blending Toyota’s exciting ‘Let’s Go Places’ spirit with Muppets mayhem. The collaboration celebrates the upcoming Toyota Highlander launch and the Muppets’ all-new big-screen adventure “Muppets Most Wanted,” in theaters March 21, 2014.

Disney’s Muppets will hit the road with Terry Crews, star of the Golden Globe-winning FOX series “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” in Toyota’s new commercial for the all-new 2014 Toyota Highlander. The 60-second spot, entitled “Joyride,” will make its broadcast debut during Super Bowl XLVIII on Sunday, February 2.

“Our game-day spot shows how Toyota Highlander puts the ‘fun’ in function,” said Jack Hollis, vice president of Toyota Division Marketing at Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. “Toyota vehicles are built to last and can even endure the most boisterous Muppets, a former NFL player as well as a center console full of chickens.”

With their over-the-top personalities, the Muppets teach Crews’ character a thing or two about “unborifying” his lifestyle as they “borrow” his sweet ride, the Toyota Highlander. The spot features humorous hijinks, dancing and surprises—and no Muppet caper would be complete without an original song. Viewers will see that with seating for up to eight human passengers or more than a dozen Muppets, the all-new Toyota Highlander has plenty of room for everything—everything except boring.

“We’re always game for a wild ride,” said Kermit the Frog, who makes a special appearance in the campaign, “as long as Animal’s not driving. He doesn’t quite get the whole concept of brakes.”

Crews, who played six years in the NFL as a defensive end/linebacker, is known for his roles and appearances on television shows such as “Arrested Development” and “The Newsroom,” and films “The Expendables” franchise, “Bridesmaids” and “The Longest Yard.”

“It’s truly an honor to be a part of this wild ride with Toyota and the Muppets,” said Crews. “The Toyota Highlander is the perfect vehicle to teach my character how to loosen up and have some fun. Be prepared for some laughs on game day.”

In addition to the commercial, the Muppets gang will provide real-time updates as they travel to the big game in their Toyota Highlander on February 2.

The broadcast spot and social media activities were developed in partnership with Saatchi & Saatchi LA, Conill and 360i. “Joyride” will air during the second quarter of the game.

Beyond the Super Bowl, the Toyota and Disney collaboration will see the Highlander co-starring with Muppets stars from “Muppets Most Wanted” in an advertising campaign showcasing the vehicle’s features, functionality and “unboring” personality. Starring Ricky Gervais, Ty Burrell and Tina Fey, the film takes the entire Muppets gang on a global tour where they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper.

“We all grew up with Kermit and the Muppets, and that makes Toyota’s collaboration with Disney very special for us,” said Hollis. “The two brands share a focus on delighting guests, and this allows us to take them along on a fun ride.”

“We’re excited to work with Toyota for the first time,” said Don Gross, vice president, promotions The Walt Disney Studios. “The Muppets’ classic mix of high energy and heart matches perfectly with Toyota’s spirit of adventure, and Kermit, Gonzo and the whole gang look forward to many zany road trips.”

Updated Disney Cruise Line Policy for Pregnant Women

Earlier this week, Disney updated the Disney Cruise Line policy for pregnant women traveling on a Disney Cruise Line vacation. For everyone’s safety and best interest, Disney will not allow women who are more than 23 weeks pregnant to sail on Disney Cruise Line. This policy is effective immediately. A notice from your doctor or a waiver will not be accepted to board the ship.

This policy has been updated on the FAQ section of the Disney Cruise Line website, as well as in the Terms & Conditions section. Here is verbatim how the new policy reads:

“Women who have entered their 24th week of pregnancy as of their embarkation date, or who will enter their 24th week of pregnancy during their cruise will be refused passage due to safety concerns. Neither a physician’s medical statement nor a waiver of liability will be accepted. In addition Disney Cruise Line cannot be held responsible for any complications relating to pregnancy at any stage.”

Oh My Disney!!! Disney Addicts have I got some news for you! Your favorite Disney Gossip Writer, Anonymouse, here with some more Disney Gossip. This time we’re heading to Disneyland for a little Tomorrowland Gossip.

My sources say that on Feb 4th and possibly Feb 5th, George Clooney will be at Disneyland filming Brad Bird’s film, Tomorrowland. The film’s crew have already traveled to WDW, Canada, and the UK for filming. It just makes sense for Disneyland to be next on the list.

Will they possibly be putting a PeopleMover car on the PeopleMover track for some scenes? Could this bring life back into Disneyland’s Tomorrowland area?

“Frozen” Sing-Along Version Hits Theaters January 31, 2014

“Frozen” audiences are invited to join the act literally as more than 1000 theaters nationwide introduce an all-new sing-along version of Disney’s Oscar-nominated, Golden Globe-winning big-screen adventure beginning Jan. 31, 2014.

“‘Frozen’ fans have embraced the film’s original songs and its soundtrack with such passion—there are countless YouTube videos from people singing songs like ‘Let It Go’—we decided to create a version that would celebrate that enthusiasm,” said Dave Hollis, executive vice president, theatrical distribution, The Walt Disney Studios. “It’s a great opportunity for families to get together and have some fun with these songs.”

According to Hollis, on-screen lyrics and a magical bouncing snowflake will accompany select showings; moviegoers can check local listings for showtimes and theaters. The duration of the sing-along run will vary by theater.

Disney’s “Frozen” received two Oscar nominations, including best animated feature and best original song (“Let It Go”). Named best animated film by more than a dozen critics associations, the film won a Golden Globe® for best animated feature, two Critics Choice Movie Awards, including best animated feature and best song (“Let It Go”), and a Producers Guild of America Award for outstanding animated feature.

In wide release since November 27, the film posted the No. 1 all-time Thanksgiving debut and the largest opening ever for a Walt Disney Animation Studios film. “Frozen,” WDAS’ 53rd feature film, has earned more than $773 million worldwide, including $337` million domestically. The film’s soundtrack was No. 1 in the Billboard top 200 for two straight weeks.

At Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre, the “Frozen” sing-along version includes on-stage appearances from the movie’s Elsa prior to each showing, plus snow flurries inside the theater. Showtimes are at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Don’t forget you can bring home “Frozen” on Digital HD & 3D Feb. 25 and Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD & On-Demand March 18.
