Disney’s ‘Maleficent’ Makes a Big Debut in Theaters

Angelina Jolie, who has not had a starring live action role in years, has now seen the biggest box office opening of her entire career. ‘Maleficent’ made 70 million dollars on opening weekend, and 100 million internationally.

I could not wait for this movie to come out. I went and saw it today and let me tell you it is worth every dollar! I would go see it again if I could. There were many people that thought this movie would not do that well because of the shift in the story-line. I don’t see it that way, I see it as the back-story of ‘Maleficent’ that we never knew.

This movie is a bit dark for Disney, so many people thought Disney could not properly do a darker villain type of movie. I would totally disagree with that. We all know Disney can do no wrong. When they do something, they give it 120%!

I can not imagine anyone else playing ‘Maleficent’ Angelina was made for this role.

Did I mention I love this movie! I can’t wait for it to come out on Bluray/DVD!

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort, opening August 3, 2014, is Central Florida’s newest wedding destination. With its exclusive lakeside setting and serene, lushly landscaped location, guests will be wowed from the moment they arrive. Featuring gorgeous outdoor wedding lawns, the elegant Grand and Palm ballrooms, and two exquisite lakeside event rooms for intimate ceremonies and receptions, Four Seasons Resort Orlando provides an ideal venue for weddings of any size.

For fans who wish to have that extra special Disney touch incorporated into their big day, Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort can offer services provided through the Disney Event Group to add some extra magic.

Event Space

The Grand Ballroom, on the Resort’s lobby level, offers 14,000 square feet (1,300 square metres) of event space. The Grand Ballroom foyer includes an elegant, inviting gathering space perfect for a cocktail reception. A gorgeous glass atrium ceiling provides ample natural light, and palm trees, surrounded by flowerbeds and potted plants, create a striking “winter garden” design. The Grand Ballroom offers soaring 21-foot (6.4 metre) coffered ceilings, and crystal chandeliers create a stunning ambiance. A second ballroom, the Palm Ballroom on the garden level, offers immediate access to the Lady Palm Lawn and King Meadow Lawn, ideal for outdoor ceremonies or receptions. Offering 6,200 square feet (576 square metres) of event space, the Palm Ballroom features 16-foot (4.9 metre) ceilings and abundant natural light. In shades of taupe, ivory and pale grey, the neutral palette is perfect for the bride to decorate with her chosen wedding colours.

For smaller gatherings of up to 30 people, Lakeside East and Lakeside West are private, free-standing buildings situated right on the lake. The perfect setting for a quaint celebration, each of the two Lakeside rooms offers 400 square feet (37 square metres) of space, arched windows overlooking a terrace complete with a fireplace, and views of the lush grounds.

Wedding Packages

Numerous wedding packages are available, for receptions to rehearsal dinners or a celebratory post-wedding brunch. The Wedding On a Weekday W.O.W. package offers value pricing for weekday weddings. The Intimate Wedding package is intended for 30 or fewer guests, and is ideal for a small ceremony or elopement, offering an officiant, photographer, bridal bouquet and boutonniere. Wedding packages at Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort include a bridal room for day-use on the wedding day, a guestroom amenity for the bride and groom, choice of Chiavari chairs, and more. Disney’s Animal Kingdom‘s new nighttime event, Harambe Nights kicks will start in about a week on June 7. Here is a breakdown of what you can expect if you attend this nighttime spectacular:

In the beginning of the night, the new Harambe Theatre and “The Lion King – Concert in the Wild” will be your entertainment. Did you know there will be a live choir and 25-piece orchestra?

After the amazing show and performance, Harambe Village hosts a street party with some incredible food. Chefs Robert Gilbert, Leonard Thompson, and Chef David Njoroge at Sanaa restaurant worked hard planning this menu.

Before the show you can get a little taste of some African and Indian food like, Moroccan beef kefta with tamarind glaze and a mini-cheeseburger with tomato curry aioli. For a little added fun while you watch the show you get your own adorably cute container of“Lion Chow,” In case you are wondering what that is, it is a mix of pretzel chips benne (sesame) crumbles, cardamom candied pecans, raisins, cherries and ginger. Sounds good!

The Harambe Nights event will happen every Saturday from June 7 through August 9. The welcome reception will start at 7 p.m., showtime is 7:30 p.m.

Satisfy Your Sugar Craving With These Top 5 Disney Dining Sweet Spots

Walt Disney World offers a huge variety of culinary options – from snack carts, to counter service meals, to sit down meals, to 5 star restaurants, they have it all – every kind of food you can imagine! One thing they really excel at is baking – their baked goods are out of this world! They are available all over the “World”, but there are some places that make baking their business – so here are the Top 5 Disney World “Sweet Spots”:

Boulangerie Patisserie Les Halles: This spot in Epcot’s France Pavilion offers some seriously delicious baked goods – eclairs, crème brulee, the infamous Napoleon, macaroons, pan au chocolat, mousse cake…I could go on and on. They also offer some meal options for lunch and dinner like various salads and sandwiches, not to mention fresh baguettes and croissants galore!

Karamell Kuche: The Germany Pavilion is home to this caramel heaven – where the smell will reel you in and the caramel corn is made fresh throughout the day. As you wait in line you can watch various treats being created, and you also can drool over the bakery case that’s bursting full of goodies – cookies, caramel apples, sea salt caramels (both dark and milk!), chocolate covered pretzels and fruit, cupcakes, cheesecake, and so much more. Don’t let the long line deter you –its well worth the wait

Main Street Confectionary: The Magic Kingdom is where you’ll find this sweet spot – you can’t miss it, it’s right on Main Street, and it is definitely worth a visit. Assorted packaged candies and colorful lollipops are available here, but for me the main attraction is the baked goods – Mickey cake pops, assorted fudge (including seasonal flavors like pumpkin!), cookies, handmade toffee, peanut butter cups, mickey krispie treats – there really are a lot of options here, and you will find something for everyone here!

Boardwalk Bakery: Serving up breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, this spot really has a lot to offer – from sandwiches and salads to a breakfast bread bowl, they can really satisfy your hunger at meal time. They can also satisfy your craving for something sweet – lemon meringue tarts, peanut butter banana and candied bacon pies, sticky buns, cheesecake brownies, cupcakes, tarts and more – this place makes a trip over to the Boardwalk Resort a total necessity!

Starring Roles Café: I always stop here when I am at Disney’s Hollywood Studios – it’s a tiny little place with no indoor seating, and it’s kind of tucked away which makes a lot of people walk by without even noticing it. But once you know it’s there – you won’t be able to get it out of your mind! Triamisu, Amaretto cheesecake, eclairs, and turnovers await you here – but the true star is the CUPCAKES – red velvet, chocolate peanut butter, and my personal favorite – the butterfinger cupcake are all available here, and they are huge and delicious – big enough to share, but who would want to?

Hopefully you will have a chance to check out some of these “sweet spots” next time you’re in Walt Disney World – no matter what your pleasure, they can certainly fulfill it and leave you with that “sugar high” feeling that will keep you going strong (until the inevitable sugar crash that is!)

Pixar Reveals Details of new movie ‘Inside Out’

Pixar has just revealed some details of its latest movie, “Inside Out“. This animated feature will take you inside the mind of Riley, an 11-year-old girl.

Pixar says: “Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it’s no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions — Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley’s main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.”

Inside Out is set to be released June 19, 2015.

HELP! I forgot my ___! Places to go on Disney Property to Find Things you Forgot

You’ve mapped it out for months. Spreadsheets created, itineraries nailed down, packing list printed, and suitcases fully stocked and then it happens…you get to the most magical place on Earth only to realize you forgot to pack ___________ (you fill in the blank). There are a few options you can:

a.) leave property and brave the Superstore crowd (of course that will require you to have a car or means of transportation)

b.) go without __________ (of course…is that realistic)

c.) find it on property

So, today we’re going to be looking at where you can find a few of those “uh-oh” items without leaving Disney property. Let’s get packing!!!

HELP! I forgot: Toothbrush…

No worries! Dental woes will not get you down when you’re visiting Mickey! Luckily, every Disney World hotel comes with it’s own…you guessed it…GIFT SHOP. That’s right, you can find more than just souvenirs in these gift shops. There like mini-marts stocked with just about any personal toiletry item you could ever need. With everything from the run-of-the-mill tube of toothpaste to deodorant, mouthwash, dental floss, hairspray, chapstick and everything in between, you can find the things that keep you so fresh and clean. Disney’s got you covered when it comes to personal hygiene products.

HELP! I forgot: Diapers…

Oh baby…you’re gonna be in a world of hurt without diapers and baby supplies! What to do? No worries, you can find diapers and various other baby items throughout the resort in hotel gift shops as well as at baby care centers throughout the four theme parks. You’ll be more likely to find a wider selection of baby care items in your hotel gift shop than you will in the parks. You’ll be able to find baby powder, wipes, diaper cream, diapers, and so much more in gift shops on Disney property! No tears! Disney’s got your baby covered…even if you forgot!

Baby Care Centers in Each Park offer on-site shop offering formula, baby food, juice, diapers, wipes, sunscreen, over-the-counter medications and clothing for purchase.

HELP! I forgot: Batteries….

You’ve really got to be plugged in when you are in the parks. From batteries to memory cards, you need to be able to capture the memories and capture the magic! If you forget these items, you are in luck because they can easily be found throughout the parks and resort hotel gift shops. You’ll also be able to find cell phone accessories, like portable chargers, cases, and accessories. Stock up so you don’t leave Disney without the memories.

HELP! I forgot: Asprin…

No matter what your small medicine needs may be (we’re talking over-the counter medicines), Disney’s pretty much got you covered! You can buy everything from heartburn medicine to motion sickness pills, asprin, and more. In fact, you can find other first aid necessities like bandaids, sore muscle cream, and antibacterial cream, and needs for whatever else might ail you. If you’re in the parks and in a pinch find the first aid station for free bandaids, ointments, etc.

HELP! I forgot: Sunscreen…

Sunburn is not a fun thing! That’s why I highly recommend you lather up and protect your precious skin! If you forgot your sunscreen, sunglasses, hats or anything else that might protect you from the scorching sun. You can find sun protection just about everywhere you go throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. You’ll be able to find it at your hotel gift shop, at kiosks around the parks, and in various shops throughout the resorts.

No worries if you forget your _____________. You can find just about anything you might need without leaving the magic of the parks. If you find yourself in a forgetful state, don’t fret! Show Your Disney Side: Nail Art Edition

This year Disney is all about rocking your Disney Side. What better way to express your Disney Side, than with fun nails? The possibilities are really quite endless, you can go very realistic, or simply stylized.

Lately Disney has been showing us some awesome tutorials and inspirations, and one really caught my eye! With the hot summer fast upon us there’s nothing I crave more than a Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar, so when I saw this tutorial I had to take a crack at it myself.

Disney gives us a nice pictorial of the how to steps, and color suggestions.

Show Your Disney Side: Nail Art Edition — Disney’s Mickey Premium Bar Tutorial.

I decided to try my hand at it, and it really was very easy! I went with a different background color to match my Disney Bounding outfit that I was sporting. I used the Disney Villains E.L.F. Nail Polish collection for mine, the Beautifully polishes also work very well.

What do you think? I felt this was a pretty simply design to pull off, however a few tips are always helpful.

Here are my tips for doing this simple manicure at home.

Make sure to work with one color at a time when doing the design, nail polish dries very fast.
A good size dollop on a non porous surface will yield better painting results.
A dull tip works better than a sharp one. Try scratching the tooth pick on a hard surface a few times.
Apply a top coat! Adding extra layers of polish to make the design will make it a bit puffy, which can easily chip. Using a top coat will help minimize this, and give you a shiny finish.

Star Wars Half Marathon Weekend Will Arrive at Disneyland Resort in 2015

The Sierra Nevada Corporation will be a sponsor at the Star Wars Half Marathon. Sierra Nevada Corporation, which is based in Sparks, Nevada, is known for providing rapid, innovative and agile technology solutions and is best known for its Dream Chaser spacecraft.

runDisney race weekends usually sell out in record time. Last year there more than 163,900 runners to Walt Disney World and Disneyland – a 40 percent increase over the previous year, making the runDisney series one of the largest in the nation.

The popularity of runDisney events has created significant economic impact on the surrounding communities. For example, in Anaheim it’s estimated that the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend drives approximately $20 million to $30million in additional economic activity locally by attracting thousands of runners to Southern California. In suburban Orlando, the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, which is considered to be the largest race weekend in the country, attracts more than 50,000 runners and 50,000-plus spectators, for a total attendance of more than 100,000 in Central Florida.

Are Anna and Elsa sailing away on the Disney Cruise Line?

Hello Frozen Fans! It’s me, Anonymouse, and I’m back with some Frozen Disney Gossip for you. Chiperoo certainly has me busy tracking down any news about Frozen and it’s paid off. Rumor has it that Elsa and Anna will be sailing away on the Disney Cruise Line.

How cool would it be to have a meet and greet with Elsa and Anna while sailing along? The lines would certainly be more manageable. My sources tell me that Elsa and Anna may be aboard as early as this summer.

Although along with this amazing Disney Gossip comes some not so great Disney Gossip. I hear that Elsa and Anna will only be aboard the Disney Wonder, Disney Magic, and Disney Fantasy…not the Disney Dream. If that’s true, those sailing on the Chip & Co Disney Cruise Oct 16-19, 2014 would not have a chance to meet them. Boo!
