New DVC Lounge Taking Shape in Former Frontierland Shooting Arcade
Construction is well underway on the highly anticipated new DVC Lounge, which is set to occupy the former Frontierland Shooting Arcade. The lounge is expected to offer a unique and immersive experience for Disney Vacation Club members, immersing them in the rich history and pioneer spirit of the beloved Frontierland theme park area.
While the construction site is currently concealed behind temporary walls, glimpses of the progress can be seen. The new lounge is being designed to seamlessly blend with the existing Frontierland aesthetic, incorporating elements of the land’s iconic architecture and theming.
Disney has not yet released specific details about the lounge’s amenities or offerings, but it is anticipated that the space will provide a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere for members to unwind and socialize.
As construction continues, Disney Vacation Club members and park enthusiasts eagerly await the grand opening of the new DVC Lounge, which promises to be a welcome addition to the Frontierland landscape.
Disneyland Donates Over $1 Million in Grants to Local Nonprofits
As Disneyland Resort marks its eighth year of community workforce development initiatives, Disney is thrilled to announce Disneyland donated over $1 million in grants to local nonprofits and school districts. This investment demonstrates Disney’s ongoing commitment to supporting the communities surrounding our theme parks.
Designed to develop and prepare the workforce in Anaheim and beyond, the community workforce development initiative empowers jobseekers and students through programming with school districts and nonprofits. In addition to financial support, Disney VoluntEARS develop meaningful relationships with the organizations, lending their time and talents toward mentorship, training workshops, skills development and more.
Since 2017, the Disneyland Resort community workforce development initiative has impacted more than 10,000 lives and provided more than $7.5 million in support for organizations to grow their workforce programming and develop new programs.

Caterina’s Club
Founded on a mission to provide warm meals, affordable housing assistance and job training to homeless and low-income families, Caterina’s Club has been an impactful force in Southern California for nearly 20 years. As the organization looks to expand workforce programming through its Hospitality Program, this support will give Anaheim high school students more opportunities to explore future careers in the hospitality and service industries.
This isn’t the first time Disneyland Resort and Caterina’s Club have teamed up: earlier this year, the resort named Caterina’s Club the celebrated charity of the 2024 Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend.
Love Anaheim
Launched in 2016 with a heartfelt mission of “spreading goodness and demonstrating kindness,” Love Anaheim provides a valuable resource connecting service project opportunities with available volunteers to further important causes in the City of Anaheim. With this funding, the organization will bolster its Better Way Anaheim program, which provides skills training and services to community members experiencing homelessness, with the end goal of securing employment.
In celebration of the 40th anniversary of Disney VoluntEARS, Disneyland Resort collaborated with Love Anaheim to pack care kits for the Anaheim Inclement Weather Shelter Network and on a series of park beautification projects in Anaheim.
“Following the approval of DisneylandForward, our expanding investment in the Anaheim community and dedication to workforce development remains a top priority for us. That’s why we are so proud to continue supporting schools and nonprofits that are empowering the next generation of leaders,” said Ken Potrock, president of Disneyland Resort. “The incredible work these organizations are doing to make a positive impact in our community is truly inspiring, and we are honored to support their efforts.”

Disney World regularly closes rides for refurbishment to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. These closures are typically scheduled during less busy times of the year to minimize impact on guests. Refurbishments can range from minor maintenance to major updates, and they often involve replacing equipment, repainting, or adding new features.
Let’s take a look at the rides that are closed this month.
Over in Magic Kingdom, Jungle Cruise has been closed and will reopen on October 17.
Epcot
Test Track in Epcot is undergoing a major refurbishment and will be closed for some time. We don’t know a reopening date just yet.
Those are the only two rides currently under refurbishment. Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is closed until November when it’ll reopen and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will close.
