The dizzying global spectator sport of professional video gaming is captured in a sitcom, “Gamer’s Guide to Pretty Much Everything,” starring Cameron Boyce (“Jessie,” Disney’s “Descendants“), premiering Wednesday, July 22 (9:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney XD. The multi-camera series chronicles the antics of a 15-year-old professional video game-playing phenom who is forced to enroll in public school for the first time and now must deploy his virtual gaming acumen to circumvent real-life challenges. The series premiere will immediately follow the special one-hour “Lab Rats: Bionic Island” and “Mighty Med” crossover episode. Joseph Garrett, known as Stampy Cat, the hugely popular Minecraft-playing YouTube star, makes a guest appearance in the premiere episode.

The series, which has been picked up for a full season, reflects the unique gaming culture through graphics (“Game Over” and “Achievement Unlocked”) and “gamer vision” sequences that depict an alternate reality whenever the characters face a particularly challenging situation.

Cool and charismatic Conor gains notoriety as “KidFury,” a professional video game player, but he suffers a devastating thumb injury that forces him out of the glamourous pro gaming world. After years of being tutored on the international pro circuit, he begins high school for the first time and meets three fellow gamers –Franklin, Wendell and Ashley. They team up to form the first-ever gaming league at their school, and together they learn that building lasting friendships in the real world is more important than accumulating high scores in the digital one.

Also starring as Conor’s three gamer friends are Murray Rundus as the arrogant but lovable Wendell, Felix Avitia as the gamer-groupie Franklin, and Sophie Reynolds as the quirky and fun Ashley.

The multi-platform schedule is as follows:

WEDNESDAY, JULY 22
Premiere telecast of “Gamer’s Guide to Pretty Much Everything” (9:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney XD.
The series premiere episode of “Gamer’s Guide to Pretty Much Everything” will also be available to verified users on WATCHDisneyXD.com and the WATCH Disney XD app for smartphones and tablets immediately after the television premiere.

In the premiere episode, Conor desperately wants to get his pro card back, so he recruits new classmates Franklin, Wendell and Ashley to play the game for him. However, a failed attempt to ditch school early to practice the game lands the foursome in detention with the toughest teacher in the school. The team must find a way to escape detention before the online gaming tournament begins if Conor has any hope of returning to the pro gaming circuit. Stampy Cat makes a cameo in this episode as the announcer for the pro-gaming tournament.

“Gamer’s Guide to Pretty Much Everything” was created by Devin Bunje and Nick Stanton (“Zeke & Luther,” “Turbo Fast”), who also serve as executive producers. Jim O’Doherty (“Grounded for Life,” “3rd Rock from the Sun,” “Kickin’ It”) is executive producing and will serve as showrunner of the series. It’s a production of It’s A Laugh Productions, Inc. and carries a TV-Y7 parental guideline.

Stay tuned for more Gamer’s Guide!

Zootopia Characters Are Finally Revealed

Zootopia

Walt Disney Pictures has a new movie coming our way.  While we have had a glimpse or two of the characters, Disney has just released the picture above bringing us face to face with Nick Wilde (Justin Bateman) and Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin).

Zootopia tells the story of Officer Judy Hopps, the first bunny on the police force full of big, scary animals.   Officer Hopps joins forces with scam artist, Nick Wilde to solve a mystery and earn her spot in the department.

Along with the storyline above, Zootopia introduces us to a place where animals from every environment live together – where no matter your shape or size, you can be anything you want (I think I’m gonna love this movie).

Zootopia is directed by Byron Howard and Rich Moore and comes to theatres near you, March 4, 2016.

This entertainment writer is excited to see a movie that shows kids they can be anything they want no matter who they are or where they come from.

Summer Fun

Very soon “Frozen Summer Fun” will start at Hollywood Studios. How soon you ask? June 17th! If you want to take a break from the rides or if you have a few young, or not so young, Frozen fans with you, this is the event for you. Just the name Frozen Summer Fun sounds so good on a very hot Florida day! You can start your day with the “Frozen Royal Welcome” in the morning. Then you can take in a special screening of the new adorable animated short “Frozen Fever”. Along with a few other “Frozen” activities throughout the day.

This summer-long special event features a full day of “Frozen” fun from park open to park close, including a royal procession, a sing-along celebration, fun photo opportunities, “Frozen” merchandise, specialty food and beverage offerings and a grand finale fireworks spectacular.

  • Frozen Royal Welcome – Twice each day, Anna, Elsa and Kristoff take part in a festive cavalcade throughout Hollywoodland, accompanied by the Royal Arendelle Flag Corps and a flurry of skaters, skiiers and ice cutters – along with lovable snowman, Olaf. Anna leads the procession in a beautiful horse-drawn sleigh, with Elsa gliding by on a stunning, ice palace float. The entire procession pauses twice along the route in tribute to these visitors from Arendelle, as everyone in Hollywoodland is invited to join in singing “Let It Go!”
  • For the First Time in Forever: A “Frozen” Sing-Along Celebration – Just in time for this year’s “Frozen” Summer Fun LIVE event, this popular show moves into the beautiful Hyperion Theater (formerly Superstar Television Theater), located right in the heart of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The Royal Historians of Arendelle host a fun and comedic retelling of the unique story of their kingdom, filled with delightful, sing-along moments from “Frozen,” plus all-new in-theater effects and special appearances by Anna, Elsa and Kristoff.
  • Olaf’s Summer Cool Down – Several times each day, the Ambassador of Hollywoodland brings Olaf and some of his friends to the Event Stage to have a little fun with everyone “In Summer.” And as temperatures heat up, Olaf happily shares a burst from his personal snow cloud to cool things off.
  • “Coolest Summer Ever” Dance Party – Once the sun goes down, a dance party takes over the area around the Event Stage, with DJ Chill and some of your favorite Disney characters. Using a special event hashtag, you can share song requests and photos over social media, to be featured onscreen during the party.
  • “Frozen” Fireworks – As the night comes to a close, Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and Olaf come together at the Event Stage for a grand finale to the day’s festivities, kicking off an awe-inspiring fireworks display set to the glorious music of “Frozen” and, of course, a flurry of snow!

“Frozen” Summer Fun LIVE starts June 17 and continues daily through September 7 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

A little background on the new short Frozen Fever:

It was created by the same team that made the original hit animated movie. “Frozen Fever” takes us back to Arendelle where Elsa has been planning the best birthday ever for her sister Anna. On the big day, though, Elsa comes down with a cold, producing some surprising and hilarious consequences.

If you went to see the live action Cinderella then you probably saw the short “Frozen Fever”. We did and we loved it. But we love everything “Frozen”. This short and a few others will be available for the first time on Digital HD, Disney Movies Anywhere, and Blu-ray on August 18th.

You can see the “Frozen Fever” short at the ABC Sound Studio, twice each hour beginning at 10 a.m. daily from June 17 – September 7.

5 Essential Wardrobe Items For Your Disney Park Visit

Ear Hats Required Shirt
Ear Hats Required Shirt

Ear Hats Required Shirt

Part of the excitement of heading to the parks is choosing your Disney outfit! Although getting decked out in Disney gear can be really fun, take a moment to think about the reality of wearing that outfit all day in the unpredictable Florida weather!  Here are 5 essential items that should be included in your park-day wardrobe!

1. EARS! A set of ears is guaranteed to make you smile the instant you put them on. There are so many different options out there now so you will have no problem finding a pair that suits your style. Ears have come a long way since the days of the simple black or pink cap ears with an embroidered name (although I still believe those are a must for everyone to own). You can find ears in every character and theme from villains to princesses and even R2D2. The new ‘Glow with the Show’ ears let you rock your dinsey side during parades and shows with ears that change colors in time with the music! Many of you have started creating your own at home! Go for it! And rock those ears when you step through the gates of the parks!

2. Disney Shirts: I admit, I have an entire stock of Disney shirts that I wear only when I am in Disney World. No, I am not ashamed to wear them everywhere else, I just like to have it feel special when I arrive at the Magic Kingdom! A good old Mickey T-shirt adds to the excitement while walking down Main Street to meet Mickey in his circus tent! Like the hats, the options are endless! Just remember it does rain a lot in Florida so make sure your shirt can stand up to the elements! (watch the white t-shirts!)

3. Comfy Footwear: While most people advise wearing a comfortable sneaker to the parks, I am honestly a flip-flop girl myself. Yes, shoes are VERY important! Testing them ahead of time is essential! Do not buy a brand new pair of shoes an wear them for the first time while walking around World Showcase. Break them in before you travel, whether they are flops or sneaks! I prefer a really good comfortable flop so that if it does rain, I am not walking around the rest of the day in a soggy shoe. If you are a sneaker person, I recommend throwing a pair of flip-flops in your bag so that you can have something to change in to if it does rain and soak your sneakers! While Walt Disney World is full of Magic, it does still rain and rain hard!

4.Ponchos:  Tut-tut, it looks like rain!  A poncho is an easy, lightweight essential that can really make or break your day in the park! My family has our Disney ponchos that we bring everyday to the parks. They fold up small and I throw them in my backpack so that we are ready when the rain clouds roll in! We throw on the ponchos and keep right on going with our day! My kids also like to wear them on Kali River Rapids. ( I know this defeats the purpose of the ride but it makes them happy!)

5. Your Biggest Smile: It is true, you are never fully dressed without a smile. You are in the happiest place on earth so don’t forget to smile! Getting frustrated with crowds and lines? Find a way to Let It GO! Smiles are contagious and spreading the joy makes everyone’s day better. Cast Members, family members and fellow park-goers will notice and appreciate  you having fun! Go get a hug from Goofy if you need a pick-me-up, pose with Minnie in your Minnie shirt, and get the giggles at the Mad Tea Party! Have fun and then start planning your outfit for tomorrow!

Don’t forget to pick up one our cool Disney Shirts at the Chip and Co Tee Public Store. I love the Phonetician one the best.

Newest Disney Live Action Movie Based on Fantasia’s “Night on Bald Mountain”

Night on Bald Mountain

Walt Disney Pictures executives are hard at work on a new live action movie project, Night on Bald Mountain, based on a segment from Disney’s famous classic – Fantasia.  Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless are preparing a script which is still in the early development stage.  As well as the script, the duo will also wear the executive producer hats.

The “Night on Bald Mountain” section of Fantasia brings us a dark winged creature who raised spirits from the dead.  The spirits spend the night, dancing and flying through the air, causing mischief and mayhem until the sun rises and they fade into the night.Fantasia is set to bits of classical music which was created by Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky in 1867.  Arranged by Leopold Stokowski,  the now well-known music is part of every Disney fan’s world.

The team of Sazama and Sharpless are the perfect choice for this dark movie as they have already developed several scary movies including Universal’s “Dracula Untold” and “The Last Witch Hunt”.

Disney Pictures has recently taken favorite classics and remade them into live action movies. Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, The Jungle Book, Mulan, Dumbo and an all new Tinkerbell script are all in various stages and coming our way.

Your favorite entertainment writer, Loretta Garcia will be bringing chipandco.com addicts all the movie and park news, promotions and updates.

Hola ladies and gents! I know you already know who this is! You are correct it is “I” the amazing, incredible, Anonymouse. Today I have some pretty good gossip for all of you MagicBand collectors. I have been hearing that the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival will have it’s very own special MagicBand.

I know this is big, I love MagicBands and have a pretty good collection myself. But wait there is a catch, isn’t there always a catch? The catch is that you can only get the special band when you book a premium package add on. Which happened last year but you could only get it if you were staying on property and the cost was about $200 a person. We do not know how much it will cost this year, but I assuming it will be a bit more expensive.

What do you think?

Any who this all the Disney gossip I have for now. For my past gossip articles be sure to check them out here. Got any good gossip/rumors please email me at anonymouse@chipandco.com or on my Facebook page.

Patina Restaurant Group and Kinetescape’s Andrew Meieran announced that they will open The Edison. The Edison is a lavish “Industrial Gothic” -style restaurant, bar and nighttime destination at the new Disney Springs at the Disney World Resort. It’s famous for exceptionally good classic American food, craft cocktails and live entertainment including cabaret and music, The Edison is inspired by its sister location in Los Angeles and set in a historic power plant.

The Edison is dedicated to a resurgence of old world-style sophistication and romance. The Florida venue will be themed to a 1920s-period electric company and recall an exuberant era of invention and imagination. Featuring 35-foot ceilings and a range of themed areas to explore, The Edison will have The Lab performance space, The Ember Parlour, Telegraph Lounge, The Patent Office, The Tesla Lounge, The Radio Room, Waterfront Patio and more. Entertainment will include contortionists, palm readers, DJs and more. Andrew Meieran’s vision and designs will be executed by Gensler Architects.

The Edison joins a number of new locations coming to the new Disney Springs. Downtown Disney is currently undergoing the largest expansion and transformation into Disney Springs. The Landing, which is one of four new neighborhoods coming to Disney Springs, will welcome The Edison in 2016.

“We are delighted to bring this extraordinary destination to the new Disney Springs,” said Nick Valenti, restaurateur and CEO of Patina Restaurant Group.

Sounds different and I like different. How about you?
