The Good Dinosaur

Disney Pixar Studios upcoming Thanksgiving holiday movie, The Good Dinosaur has the voices cast and has brought in an amazing and talent group of actors to bring the story of Arlo to the screen.

Director Peter Sohn and Producer, Denise Ream bring us a movie that asks the question – what if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed and dinosaurs never became extinct?   The Good Dinosaur gives a peek at what life might be when Arlo, an Apatosaurus, becomes friends with a “human” during his travels through a mysterious landscape.

Coming to theaters on November 25, 2015, the cast includes:

  • Raymond Ochoa (Arlo)
  • Jeffrey Wright (Arlo’s father “Poppa”)
  • Steve Zahn (Pterodacatyl “Thunderclap”)
  • AJ Buckley (T-Rex “Nash”)
  • Anna Paquin (T-Rex “Ramsey”)
  • Frances McDormand  (Arlo’s mother “Momma”)
  • Marcus Scribner (Arlo’s brother “Buck”)
  • Jack Bright (Arlo’s Human friend “Spot”)

Don’t miss this cute story of Arlo’s adventures coming Thanksgiving 2015.

Top 10 Disneyland Attractions for Toddlers

Top 10
Top 10

Top 10

Disneyland is one of the most magical places, and viewing the parks through the eyes of your toddler makes it even more so. While there are a lot of attractions and rides aimed at older kids/adults, there are still plenty of things for your toddler to enjoy! Here’s my top 10 list of attractions for toddlers at the Disneyland Resort:

  1. Mickey’s Toontown– There’s so much for little ones to do at Mickey’s Toontown! Visit Mickey and Minnie in their homes, explore Goofy’s house and garden, and climb aboard Donald’s boat. If your toddler is tall enough (35″) they can zip around on Gadget’s Go Coaster too!
  2. Disney Junior-Live on Stage!– Located in Hollywood Land in California Adventure, Disney Junior-Live on Stage! is a 23 minute interactive show featuring your toddler’s favorite Disney Junior characters. Clap, sing, and dance along with Mickey Mouse, Doc McStuffins, and Jake and the Neverland Pirates. It’s also a great place to take a break from the hot California sun!
  3. Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer Island– A great place to stretch your legs and explore! Check out the view from atop the hideout of Tom & Huck’s tree house, dig up some loot at the Treasure Dig, climb up Castle Rock, and explore caverns and coves. There’s plenty of adventure here for you and your toddler!
  4. Fantasyland– I know, it’s a whole land! But Fantasyland is geared towards young children (and the young at heart). Toddlers can ride everything in this land. Some of my toddler’s favorites are Dumbo, Peter Pan’s Flight, Casey Jr. Circus Train, and Alice in Wonderland. *A few of the rides in Fantasyland are dark rides and can be somewhat scary for little ones*
  5. Tarzan’s Treehouse– Climb high into this huge tree and see Tarzan’s story some alive. As you near the top, you’ll be treated with amazing views of Adventureland! Once you’re back on the ground, you can check out Jane’s collection of equipment and gear. Your toddler will enjoy playing on musical pots and pulling vines that produce fun surprises!
  6. Big Thunder Ranch– The one and only petting zoo at Disneyland, this is the perfect place for little ones to encounter goats, pigs, horses, sheep and donkeys. You can pet, brush and even feed the friendly critters. This is a great area for all who love animals!
  7. Disneyland Railroad– What kid (or grown up) doesn’t love a good train ride? The Disneyland Railroad begins at the Main St. station, with stops at New Orleans Square, Mickey’s Toontown, and Tomorrowland. My son’s favorite part of the ride is between the Tomorrowland stop and the Main St. Station. On your way to the Main St. Station, you’ll enter a tunnel and get to see the Grand Canyon and Primeval World dioramas. My son especially loves seeing the dinosaurs!
  8. Princess Dot Puddle Park– Located in “a bug’s land” in California Adventure, your toddler will love splashing in this water play area! Fountains of water spring up from the ground unexpectedly as well as from the giant sprinkler nozzle. This is a great place to cool off before heading to your next attraction.
  9. Anna & Elsa’s Royal Welcome– These royal sisters have a new home in Hollywood Land in California Adventure. Frozen is still extremely popular and meeting Anna & Elsa will probably be the highlight of your toddlers trip. This is one of the best character interactions at Disneyland and is definitely a can’t miss!
  10. “a bug’s land”– Just like Fantasyland is aimed towards younger guests, “a bug’s land” in California Adventure is aimed towards little bugs. Shrink to the size of a bug and experience what it’s like to be a bug! There are 3 rides that toddlers of any height can go on. My daughter loves Heimlich’s Chew Chew Train and Flik’s Flyers. Once your toddler is 36″ tall, they can also enjoy Tuck & Roll’s Drive ‘Em Buggies, another favorite of my daughter.

There are so many fun and magical things for toddlers to do at the Disneyland Resort. It truly is a place for all ages! If you’d like help planning your next magical Disney vacation, contact me here.

Vivoli Gelateria is now open Downtown Disney/Disney Springs

Gelato 3

Vivoli Gelateria

If you have ever been Florence, Italy, you may have heard of Vivoli Gelateria. It was the only food place mentioned in National Geographic’s City Guide to Florence. I think that means it must be pretty good! This is a family run shop and this will be their second location and the first not in Italy. It is now open at The Landing, the newest neighborhood addition to the new Disney Springs.

It was founded in 1932 by Raphael and his two brothers, Vivoli Gelateria actually started out as a dairy. Technology slowly progressed and then the brothers were able to make gelato.

Their gelato is made with fresh, top of the line ingredients. They will use the exact same recipes from their original shop. They do plan to use local and seasonal products, with cocoa powder, hazelnut and pistachio imported from Italy. So now we know it will be as close to authentic Italian gelato as we can get here in the states.

Warning: these pictures will make you hungry:

They will have their own signature gelato, and they will also serve traditional Italian favorites like, panini, biscotti, espresso and tarts.

The Walt Disney Family Museum and The Dali Museum Collaborate on a New Exhibit

The Walt Disney Family Museum and The Dalí Museum are proud to announce Disney and Dalí: Architects of the Imagination, on view from July 10, 2015 through January 3, 2016 at the Walt Disney Family Museum and at The Dalí Museum late January through June, 2016.

Guest-curated by filmmaker Ted Nicolaou, this immersive and enriching multi-media exhibition tells the story of the unlikely alliance between two of the most renowned artists of the twentieth century: brilliantly eccentric Spanish Surrealist Salvador Dalí and American entertainment innovator Walt Disney. Presented through a multimedia wonderland of original paintings, story sketches, conceptual artwork, objects, correspondences, archival film, photographs, and audio—many of which highlighting work from Disney studio artists—this comprehensive exhibition showcases two vastly different icons who were drawn to each other through their unique personalities, their collaboration on the animated short Destino—which, regrettably to both Disney and Dalí was never completed during their lifetimes—and their enduring friendship.

“The Walt Disney Family Museum, founded by Walt’s daughter, Diane Disney Miller, presents the life story of Diane’s father, which story inspires visitors to heed their imaginations and persevere in pursuing their goals,” said The Walt Disney Family Museum’s Executive Director Kirsten Komoroske. “In keeping with this mission, the exhibitions at the museum feature dreamers, innovators, and collaborators. The museum’s next major exhibition unveils another aspect of Walt’s story: the friendship between Walt and the influential and revolutionary artist, Salvador Dalí. The exhibition, co-organized with the Dalí Museum, not only further fulfills the mission of the museum, but also further solidifies the museum’s place among the many phenomenal fine art institutions in the San Francisco Bay Area.”

Born three years and half a world apart, both Disney and Dalí bore boyhood imaginations grounded in their upbringing in the 1900s, encouraging their lives, careers, and legacies to be paralleled on a profound level. A deeper look into the lives and artistic prominence of the Surrealist and the dreamer—highlighted by hand-written letters and alongside filmed dramatizations and audio re-creations—will show just how alike these two innovators were in blurring the lines between reality and dreams.

The friendship between Disney and Dalí was born out of the mutual admiration of two visionary artists and sustained by the simple kinship of two small town boys on a never-evening quest to broaden the horizons of art. Their influence reverberates all around us—in films, television, stage, advertising, fashion, and art. Through dedicated work, ingenious self-promotion, and their singular artistic visions, their names and art are forever fused in our collective imagination.

“Disney and Dalí heralds a new era in art exhibitions,” said Dalí Museum Executive Director, Hank Hine. “Visitors can expect a multi-sensory environment of moving image, soundscapes, and the transformative aura of exquisite individual paintings. Disney and Dalí broke new ground as artists—the Walt Disney Family Museum and The Dalí will deliver a brave new world of experience.”

Disney and Dalí: Architects of the Imagination is co-organized by The Walt Disney Family Museum and The Dalí Museum, with the collaboration of the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation in Figueres, Spain, and The Walt Disney Studios.

Yummy Treats on the Way to Zuri’s Sweets Shop at Animal Kingdom

Lion King treats
Lion King treats

Lion King treats

My first thought when I saw this was “how cute”, almost too cute to eat. These adorable treats, and more, will be at a new shopping location in Animal Kingdom called Zuri’s Sweets Shop. You can find it at Harambe Market starting in just a few days on June 17.

Patrice Guy,  a merchandiser at Disney Theme Park Merchandise shared what to expect:

“We have created approximately 80 new items that range from decorative candy apples to uniquely flavored chocolate bars to delicious popcorn,” explained Patrice. “With Zuri’s Sweets Shop, we wanted to offer highly-themed goods inspired by the sights, sounds and flavors of Africa. Many of the items will be unique to this location making them delicious gifts for loved ones, or something special to enjoy during a visit to the park.”

There will be 3 art programs used for these new treats.

Check them out:

The first program uses characters from Disney’s “The Lion King”. There will a lollipop shaped like Simba’s paw, animal crackers, and the adorable chocolate mini crocodiles (pictured above).

The second art program uses colorful patterns and whimsical animals. You will find Rice Krispies treats ins pried by animals of course. There has to be something Mickey Mouse-shaped, that will come in the form of chocolate-dipped coconut patties. For you chocolate lovers there will a set of 5 chocolate candy bars with flavors such as milk chocolate with spicy cinnamon and banana chip.

Last but not least the last collection offers African spice rubs and a gourmet cocoa set. There will also be barbecue sauce from Flame Tree Barbeque!

I would love one of each, at least. How about you?

Top 10 reasons why you should stay at a Walt Disney World Resort

P1110333
P1110333

Boardwalk

When planning a trip to Walt Disney World, one of the most important decisions you must make is whether to stay on-property, or off-property. There are pros and cons for both, and the choice depends on the needs of the people traveling. But if you’re thinking about staying on-property in a Walt Disney World Resort, here are the Top 10 reasons why you should stay at a Walt Disney World Resort.

1. Different Types of Accommodations – Walt Disney World Resorts are classified in three different categories, or levels. Value Resorts have smaller rooms (about the size of the average chain hotel), and fewer amenities (they do not have sit-down restaurants, but do have food courts with counter-service offerings), but they are usually the most highly themed with lots of visuals to pull you into the Disney feel. Moderate Resorts have slightly larger rooms, may have a restaurant on-site along with the food court option, and typically have more plush surroundings, with slightly less whimsical theming. Deluxe Resorts have the largest rooms, have at least one restaurant, and are themed elegantly but not with characters. So, you first must decide at which level of resort you wish to stay.

2. Locations of Resorts – While all Disney World resorts are on property, they are not in one particular location. Resorts are grouped by their proximity to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Downtown Disney (Disney Springs). If you have a favorite park, you may want to stay in a resort closer to that park. Or, if you have dining reservations at a particular park or resort, you may want to be close by to avoid any delays in making it to your reservation. I highly recommend the Boardwalk area resorts!

3. Cost – This is typically a factor for anywhere you stay, and it’s no different at Walt Disney World. Yes, WDW Resorts may be more expensive than some you can find off-site. This is particularly true if you have a large group. You may be able to find a house to rent for less than it would cost to book an adequate number of rooms or suites on-site. Once you’ve decided the level and location of the on-site resort in which you’d like to stay, you can have the best idea of what the cost will be.

4. Dining/Food Options – While off-site hotels may offer complimentary breakfasts, what you’ll find at Walt Disney World Resorts is a variety of options. Even at breakfast in the Value Resorts, the food courts have several choices for breakfast, including some grab-and-go options for those who know breakfast is important, but want to get to the parks as quickly as possible!  Lunch and dinner options also vary at all of the resorts, and snacks are available at any time during the day.  And, let’s face it, you can’t get a Mickey Waffle off-site!

5. Transportation Options – Disney offers complimentary transportation to and from the Orlando International Airport via Disney’s Magical Express busses. You must plan and arrange for this ahead of time, but they will send you luggage tags, and will pick up your luggage and load it on the bus for transport to your resort.  During your stay, Disney World Transportation is available to you, helping you get to and from parks, resorts, and Downtown Disney (Disney Springs). Buses pick up at all of the resorts, and are generally very convenient. This saves you from sitting in traffic and paying for parking at parks as well.

6. Perks and extrasRefillable resort mugs are available for a flat fee for your length of stay. These can be refilled at your resort with no charge, though a chip in the mug moderates the length of time between refills. Guest of Walt Disney World Resorts also get to take advantage of Extra Magic Hours, early entry or late hours at the parks solely for resort guests. And if you’ve booked a package that includes your resort and tickets, you get some discount vouchers to use at Disney Quest at Downtown Disney (Disney Springs), the resort arcade, miniature golf, spa treatments and more.

7. Shopping/Handling Your Purchases – We all want to buy souvenirs and gifts when we’re at Walt Disney World, and it can be difficult or unwieldy trying to carry our purchases around while enjoying the parks. Resort guests can have their purchases sent to the front of the park for pick up at the end of the day, or even to their resort gift shop for pick up there. This can make a day at the parks much more pleasant!

8. Discounts/Special Offers – At various times of the year, Disney offers resort room discounts, package discounts, and sometimes Free Dining offers. The Free Dining offer requires a resort room reservation and tickets, but the Disney Dining Plans for select dates and resorts are free. This can be a significant savings for guests, especially families.

9. Time/Scheduling – Staying off-site may mean working with a shuttle schedule to the parks that is limited to particular times of day or night. This may put a crimp in your plans to open and close the park.  Disney Transportation, which includes buses, boats, and the monorail, runs on a fairly constant basis prior to park hours and following park hours to ensure everyone gets where they need or want to go.

10. MAGIC! – Staying at a Walt Disney World Resort means that you are immersed in the magic throughout your stay. Whether you’re in the parks, dining, or spending time in your resort at the pool or other on-site activities, you are surrounded by Disney and Disney cast members who want you to feel at home and have the most magical visit possible!

Those are my Top 10 reasons why you should stay at a Walt Disney World Resort. Is there something you feel I’ve missed?  I’d love to hear about it in your comments!

Disney Inspired Collections by Pin Up Couture

Lydia Dress in Mermaid Border Print
Lydia Dress in Mermaid Border Print

If you are like me, your closet is already overflowing with Disney clothes. Whether it be shirts, scarves, dresses, tank tops, leggings, or accessories, if it’s Disney themed, I either own it, or I want it! That being said, I was introduced to this site and I cannot believe I did not know about this before!

Pin Up Girl Clothing sells clothing inspired by the 1940s, 50s and 60s. What immediately drew my attention on this site was that the models are not all stick thin – they all have curves! Like most women in American, I also have curves, so it’s great to see how the clothes will like on my body type before I even order. The site offers sizes from xs to 4x!

The next detail that captured my heart – they have a Fairytale Fantasy Collection.

These skirts and dresses are definitely more Disney inspired then authentic Disney, but I am loving all the patterns and styles. As I mentioned, I am new to this site, so I have never ordered from them before and cannot speak to the fit and quality of the garments, but if the reviews are anything to go by, it seems that you can expect top quality.

The prices of the dresses start at about $100, and the skirts start at about $90. This is a little more expensive then I usually go for when it comes to clothing, but if it means I am getting a quality piece that will last me for more than a couple of wears, then I am willing to save up a little longer for a great new dress.

Here is a closer look at some of my favorite items from the Fairytale Fantasy Collection.

Lydia Dress in Mermaid Border Print

Pin Up Couture

Channeling The Little Mermaid, this is the perfect dress for a night out this summer. I love how the purple bust matches the purple belt, which matches the purple hair of the mermaid. Maybe it’s just me, but these colors are also giving me a bit of an Ursula feel, which I love!

Lydia Dress in Queen of Hearts Border Print

Pin Up Couture

If Wonderland is more your style instead of Under the Sea, check out these fun and flirty Alice in Wonderland inspired dress. I feel like this pattern is a little more subtle then the first and I can totally see this going over great on Dapper Days. The halter top of these dresses are a nice feature and totally faltering.

Jenny Dress in Neverland Sateen

Pin Up Couture

If you dream of never growing up, fighting swashbuckling pirates, and visiting the second star to the right, this is the dress for you! The bright pink really pops and is a great color for all the fun illustrations to stand out against. I am not sure what occasion I could wear this dress for, but I’m sure I could invent one! Pirate themed garden party anyone?

Aurora Dress in Pink Castle Print

Pin Up Couture

Okay, I saved my favorite for last. I am absolutely head over glass slippered heel, in love with this dress. Also available in blue, this dress just screams date night at Walt Disney World to me! The cut of the top of the dress is more modest than some of the others I have mentioned, and I like the additional coverage here. And that skirt! I just want to do some twirls in it.

While I was browsing through the site, I found another collection that caught my eye, The Magic of Mary Blair Collection by Pin Up Couture.

Mary Blair joined The Walt Disney Company in 1940 as an animator and left her mark as an animator legend. Blair’s talents can be seen in works such as Dumbo, Lady and the Tramp, Fantasia, Salud Amigos, The Three Caballeros, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, and Peter Pan. At the request of Walt Disney himself, Blair created concept art of It’s a Small World, which ultimately was used as the guiding vision for the look and feel of the attraction.

I love that Pin Up Couture is honoring this amazing artist and Disney legend with a collection of clothing, many of the styles being ones that Mary Blair could have worn herself during her time at the Walt Disney Company.

Here is a closer look at some of my favorites from The Magic of Mary Blair Collection by Pin Up Couture.

Jenny Skirt in Mary Blair Umbrellas

Pin Up Couture

This full skirt is perfect in peach and the bright illustrations of umbrellas is the perfect touch. Great for spring or summer, you are sure to get many compliments on this skirt wherever you go.

Aurora Dress in Mary Blair Train Border

Pin Up Couture

If only I had the right skin tone to wear yellow! This dress is adorable. Once again, I’m not really sure where I would wear this, but I’m sure I organize some kind of locomotive themed picnic where this dress would be perfect.

Ella Dress in Mary Blair Lips and Roses

Pin Up Couture

Okay, hi. Can we all just take a moment and admire this dress for a minute. The cut, the color, the absolute must have quality! I’m going to buy this dress, jump on a time machine and hit up the local ice cream parlor sock hop. And I mean that in the absolute best way possible. This would be another stunner for Dapper Day, or any day really.

Do you have a favorite from the collections? Where would you plan to wear these vintage inspired skirts and dresses? Share your ideas with me in the comments so I can stop looking for that time machine!

New Details About ‘STK Orlando’ and ‘The Edison’ at Disney Springs

NDSR57057032
NDSR57057032

edision

Little by little we are finding out more and more details about the new additions to what will be known as Disney Springs. Recently we heard about The Edison, which is described as a lavish “Industrial Gothic”-style restaurant, bar and nighttime destination that will feature exceptional classic American food, artisanal craft cocktails and live entertainment.

The Edison will be pretty similar to the west coast location. It is described as, a throwback to a resurgence of old-world style, sophistication and romance. Themed to a 1920s-period electric company, it will  35-foot ceilings and a range of differently themed areas. There will be entertainment every night, which include some out of the ordinary entertainers like, contortionists, palm readers, DJs and more.

STK

I know you are wondering about STK Orlando. This location will be the only location to have rooftop dining in a  lounge setting.

STK Orlando is set to open later this year and The Edison will open in 2016.

Which spot do you think will be your new favorite?

Top 10 Breakfast Locations at Walt Disney World

P1060876
P1060876

Big Kahuna

You’re at the most magical place on earth – Walt Disney World – and you can’t wait to get to the parks and make your way to your favorite attractions.  Wait, are you forgetting anything?  Sunscreen, Magic Bands, cellphones, emergency snacks, plastic bags for electronics on wet rides, hats, all members of your party….nope, got it all.  Breakfast?  Yes, the most important meal of the day sometimes gets lost in the shuffle when you’re at Disney World. But often, if you make time for it, you can save on cranky attitudes and $$$ later. So, here is my Top 10 list of places to get breakfast.

Cindy

1. Cinderella’s Royal Table – Yes, this can be a tough reservation to get, but if you manage it, there are some perks. First, you’ll be among the first people into Magic Kingdom before opening, and you can get those coveted pictures of Main Street and the castle without all those pesky people in the way. Second, you’ll get to see what’s inside the castle as you make your way to the restaurant. And, of course, you’ll get to meet and take pictures with the princesses. Your meal consists of pastries, and a selection of entrees, from traditional breakfast, to healthy, to fancy foods. Cost is a factor, of course, and this one’s a little pricey, but the experience is worth it.

Stitch at 'Ohana character breakfast

2. Ohana – Located at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Ohana is also a breakfast experience. Food is served “family style” on platters, in baskets, and from large skillets to be shared by all, but Mickey Waffles are served separately. Breads, fruit, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, biscuits, and P.O.G. – Passion Fruit, Orange, Guava juice are served in abundance. Visit and take pictures with Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, and Pluto!

The_Crystal_Palace1

3. Crystal Palace – Back inside the Magic Kingdom, again allowing for crowd-free picture-taking, is the Crystal Palace, with a traditional breakfast buffet. You’ll find pastries, fresh fruit, sausage, bacon, biscuits with sausage gravy, and made-to-order omelets. The Mickey Waffles here are at a special children’s station of the buffet, but that doesn’t mean that adults can’t enjoy them as well. My favorite part of a Crystal Palace breakfast is having a chance to visit with the characters from the Hundred Acre Wood – Pooh, Piglet, and my personal favorite, and yet elusive, character, Eeyore!

norway_breakfast_08_1182

4. Akershus Royal Banquet Hall – Want to meet princesses at your breakfast, but couldn’t secure that reservation at the Castle? Akershus Royal Banquet Hall at Epcot may be your answer. Tucked in the Norway pavilion of Epcot’s World Showcase, this location is wonderful!  You aren’t guaranteed to meet Cinderella, but there’s a good chance you’ll meet some of your favorite princesses.  Traditional breakfast offerings like scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, and cheesy potatoes are served family style at your table, but you can also visit the cold buffet, where you’ll find fruit, cheeses, yogurt, pastries, and cold, smoked fish. Be sure to try the Lingonberry Muffin!

1900

5. 1900 Park Fare – This Supercalifragilistic Breakfast is served up at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, buffet style. Omelets, eggs, pancakes, bagels, French toast, fresh fruit, pastries, and of course Mickey Waffles are just some of the items available.  Look forward to meeting Mary Poppins, Alice, and the Mad Hatter while you dine in relaxed elegance.

A74_1085

6. Chef Mickey’s – If you’re looking for something a little more upbeat, Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is a great choice. This can also be a difficult-to-get reservation, because this meal includes Mickey and his pals. Breakfast is a buffet including the usual breakfast favorites, eggs, omelets, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, fruit, pastries, and yes, Mickey Waffles. A special addition here is the Krispy Kreme donut holes!  If you want breakfast here, you’ll have to be sure to start working on it at 180 days out (or have your travel agent do it!). It’s loud, busy, crowded, fun, though, and you can walk right over to the Magic Kingdom when you’re finished!

Boma4

7. Boma – maybe you’re not interested in a character breakfast, but just want a good meal. While the food is good at all Disney locations, there’s something different and special about Boma at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. Fresh fruit, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, hot and cold cereals, a quinoa porridge, pastries and breakfast breads, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, create-your-own omelet station, a carving station, and some special offerings like Bobotie – a kind of crustless quiche, and Pap – which is a little like grits, but fluffier, and usually served with stewed tomatoes. M&M pancakes will delight children of all ages, and you may want to wash everything down with a pot of Kenyan pressed coffee – Yum!

WAVE

8. The Wave…of American Flavors – back at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, but without the characters this time, you can enjoy sustainable foods at The Wave. This is a warm, relaxing experience, with a buffet, but also entrees available. In the cold section of the buffet, you’ll find fruit, hard-boiled eggs, and salmon, as well as pastries and breads. In the hot section is biscuits and gravy, sausage and bacon, eggs, and cheese grits. Breakfast potatoes, Eggs Benedict, sweet potato pancakes, and multi-grain Mickey Waffles are also available. Entrees include omelets, Belgian waffles, French toast, and more. And this is another location that makes it easy and quick to get to the Magic Kingdom.

yachtclub

9. Captain’s Grille – located at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, the Captain’s Grille also offers both a buffet and entrees at breakfast. Pastries, oatmeal, biscuits and gravy, breakfast meats, scrambled eggs, bread pudding, fresh fruit, pancakes, French toast, and yes, Mickey Waffles, and even pats of butter imprinted with Mickey Mouse! Entrees include lemon-ricotta hotcakes, dark chocolate waffles, and a petite sirloin and quiche. There’s something here for your picky and your adventurous eaters!

pizzafari

10. Pizzafari – if you’d like more of a quick service option for breakfast, you might want to pop into Pizzafari at Animal Kingdom. This colorful, vibrant restaurant draws you in, and presents you with typical breakfast favorites like cold cereal and bagels, but adds a few interesting options as well. The Ancient Hot Grain Cereal may look like simple oatmeal, but it’s something more, oatmeal, barley, and quinoa with a salted caramel crumble topping. The relatively new Breakfast Croissant is multi-grain, with egg whites, spinach, and a vegetable chutney, held together by melted Provolone cheese. And while the Breakfast Burrito is not all that unusual, it is a good-sized portion of a tortilla filled with eggs, sausage, cheese, peppers, and salsa. And when you’re finished here, you’re already in Animal Kingdom, so you can head directly to the Kilimanjaro Safari – hope you get to see the lions!

Walt Disney World has so many options for eating any meal or snack. Breakfast doesn’t have to be a meal you miss while trying to get to your favorite attraction, though you may have to work diligently to get your most wanted breakfast reservation.

So those are my 10 favorite breakfast spots and experiences. What are yours? Did I miss your favorite?  I’d love to know about another place I can try! Tell me in the comments.
