Glam Up Your Little Princess With Sweet n’ Sassy Disney Inspired Necklaces

Sweet Southern Sass
Sweet Southern Sass

Sweet Southern Sass

What little princess wouldn’t want a little extra sparkle in her Disney wardrobe? A fun chunky necklace is a great way to add a little Disney flare to any little girl’s outfit. The sweet and sassy baubles from SweetSouthernSassCo on Etsy are the perfect touch.

Sweet Southern Sass Co. makes whimsical chunky gumball necklaces styled in the color motifs of beloved Disney characters. Some of them are simply the cute and shiny colors, and others even have a fun character charm on them. While the necklaces are geared towards the younger gals the necklaces are sized between 16-18 inches in length with a 2 inch extender, so even us ladies who are young at heart can enjoy them too. I’m already eyeing the Donald Duck one for my next trip to Walt Disney World. There is even the option to add a matching hair bow to your order, I love extra cute coordination!

Check out their fanciful handcrafted treasures below!

Another great thing about these, is they are not too tiny or delicate so little kids can wear them with ease and comfort. Which one do you see your little princess loving?

The bronco’s won the Superbowl last night and what better reward for the winning quarterback than Disneyland?

Payton Manning announced last night that he will be going to Disneyland! This is a tradition which dates back to 1987 when Phil Simms of the New York Giants announced he was going to Disneyland.

ABC Breaking News | Latest News Videos

There will be a parade on Monday on Main Street USA at Disneyland Park (the time is not yet set).

Manning will be joining a long list of sports and other hero’s who have celebrated at the happiest place on earth!

Spotted last week at Disney’s Magic Kingdom was Google’s Street View Cameras. Twitter user @dichuy snagged a photo of a person walking around the Magic Kingdom with the camera on his back.

It is being reported they will be in the parks the rest of this week to cover the rest of the Magic Kingdom and the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC).

No word on which park is next, or even if they will do the other parks.

I hope that google is able to visit all the parks and they are able to keep the views up to date. Probably one of the biggest issues will be blocking out the faces of all the visitors.

It’s official, as announced last month, Kylo Ren is now appearing for meet and greets at the Star War’s Launch Bay in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

While Kylo Ren, the new Star Wars villain, has replaced Darth Vader, Chewbacca and the First Order Stormtroopers will continue appearing at the Launch Bay. But, good news for Darth Vader fans, he will continue to appear as part of the Jedi Training.

While at the Launch Bay, take some time to look at movie replica props, costumes and artifacts. You can also try out Disney Infinity 3.0 with a Launch Bay exclusive Star Wars toy box.

What are your thoughts on this change? Are you excited to see Kylo Ren or do you wish Darth Vader was staying?

According to a report from KTLA 5 news a middle school male student, Austin Lacey, 13, was ordered to remove his Elsa costume which he was wearing as a part of the school’s Disney spirit day.

According to the principal at Ethan Chase Middle School in Riverside County, the only reason he was asked to change was accordance with district policies anything that causes a disruption of class must be take care of.

Lacey’s mother has a different perspective on why he was asked to remove the costume, she claims the principal told her boys should not dress like girls.

Lacey said he wasn’t trying to put out any message just loved going all out with his costumes and felt this was a great costume choice for him. The Elsa costume didn’t bother anyone else in the school. Students were asking to take selfies and telling Lacey what a great job he did on the costume.

The students of the school were so upset they started handing out flyers encouraging the student body to cross-dress the following week as a show of support for the LGBT community.

There was no comment from the principal or the middle school. Maybe the principal should have just….Let it go….

Do you think he should have been able to wear whichever costume he liked or was the principal correct in asking him to remove it? Comment below!

Top 10 Disney Inspired Baby Boy Names

baby boy names

What’s in a name? Well, if it is the name you’re giving to your child there is a lot riding on your choice. The name that you choose will stay with your child for the rest of your life. Therefore it is important to pick a name that won’t embarrass your child later in life. This includes making sure that hurtful nicknames can’t be pulled form their name and that their initials don’t spell out something that isn’t very nice. Another important thing to think about, especially if you are a Disney Addict, is how to incorporate your Disney addiction into your child’s name, but perhaps without making it completely obvious that they were named after a Disney character.

So, without further ado we have the top ten Disney inspired baby boy names according to Disney Baby. Oh and if you missed my Disney Baby Girl names click here.

  • Andy – Andy is traditionally used as a nickname for Andrew, but Andy itself is also a popular name. In 2014 it ranked as the 281st most popular name according to the Social Security Administration, Andrew was number 22. This is a great traditional name, but it also allows you to incorporate your love for Disney by naming your child after Woody and Buzz’s owner.
  • Bruce – Bruce is a tough guy name, so if you already have plans for your little one to be involved in sports later in life than naming them after a shark from Finding Nemo is a great way to go.
  • Chip – Chip itself is not an incredibly popular name, but it is often used as a nickname for Charles which ranked 51st on the list of most popular names in 2014. You can follow the pack and name your child Charles, but call them Chip for short, or you can embrace the spirit of the lovable chipmunk and give your child a unique name!
  • Christopher – Christopher is an incredibly popular name throughout the world, as is the nickname Chris. The name means “bearing Christ”, and Saint Christopher is the patron saint of travelers – how perfect for Disney fans! The Disney influence comes from Christopher Robin from Winnie the Pooh.
  • Dale – Another chipmunk name! This name can actually be use for boys or girls, and while it is not an incredibly popular name these days, I have personally known multiple Dales (one of which was a girl). The originated as a last name for those that lived in a dale or a valley.
  • Donald – It is time for this name to make a comeback! It is of Celtic origin and means “ruler of the world”. A popular nickname for those named Donald is Don. Donald is obviously one of the very best friends of Mickey Mouse!
  • Finn – The name Finn is quickly becoming popular, and it is especially popular all over Europe. It is derived from Irish mythology, and while it is often seen as a last name, like Huckleberry Finn, it is a super cool first name as well. The Disney inspiration here comes from secret agent Finn McMissle in Cars 2.
  • Jim – Jim and especially its root James are incredibly popular. James currently ranks number 9 on the list of most popular names and there are a whole lot of Disney characters that you could be naming your child after with this one. Jim Hawkins is the lead character in both Treasure Planet and Muppet Treasure Island! There is also the ever famous James P. Sullivan from Monsters Inc.
  • Max – There are so many possibilities if you want to name your little one Max. Max itself is a great name, but it can also be a nickname for something like Maxwell, Maximillian, Maximus, or Maxime. Max is the name of Goofy’s son and there is also the beloved Maximus from Tangled.
  • Mickey – Last, but certainly not least, you could name your little one after the Mouse himself! This variant of Michael will certainly help you show your Disney side!

Review: Behind the Seeds Tour at Epcot

The Land Image
The Land Image

The Land Image

I am definitely a foodie, and I like to know where my food comes from. I’m a big believer in supporting farms and sustainable practices. Have you ever wondered where the food you eat at Epcot comes from? Well, chances are if you are enjoying either fresh fish or vegetables at Epcot, those items came from one of Disney’s greenhouses or fish farms. The Behind the Seeds Tour at Epcot takes guests behind the scenes of these areas, which can also be glimpsed during the Living with the Land attraction.

Alright, let me break this down a little bit.

Living with the Land, located in The Land Pavilion of Futureworld, is a slow moving boat ride, which is part dark ride and part greenhouse tour. The focus of the ride is on agriculture, especially new technology to make agriculture more efficient and environmentally friendly.

The Behind the Seeds Tour offers guests the unique opportunity to take a closer look at the Walt Disney World greenhouses and animal farming. During a one hour tour, your tour guide will take you behind the scenes to visit the fish farm where you can participate in a feeding time, you can see American alligators up close, release ladybugs into the greenhouse, view gigantic fruits, vegetables, and unusual crops from around the world, and discover the latest plant growing techniques.

How much does this insider look cost? It is super affordable! For only $20.00 per person, you are able to experience all of this, plus get some great photo opportunities.

Check-in for the tour is at the help desk, right in between Soarin’ and Living with the Land. I highly suggest taking the opportunity to ride Living with the Land right before your tour so you have some basic knowledge of what you will be learning more about. Living with the Land rarely has a long wait time, but consider booking a FastPass+ for this attraction just in case.

Once your tour party is gathered, you tour guide will take you behind the scenes and into the greenhouses. This tour definitely puts all of your senses to work! Obviously, you are surrounded by the smells of the greenhouse crops and can see the interesting plants and produce. You are also given the opportunity to touch certain plants, and taste some of the fresh produce grown there. On our tour, we had the chance to taste fresh cucumber.

Behind the Seeds Behind the Seeds 1

The most interesting thing that we learned about during our tour was Magical Fruit. No, this doesn’t just mean fruit grown at Disney World! Magical Fruit, when eaten, causes your taste receptors to switch so that whatever you eat, whether it is a piece of pork or a carrot, tastes like sugar. The effect, is of course (and regrettably), temporary. Although, we did not get to try Magical Fruit, we definitely still talk about it.

After we finished with the greenhouses, we made our way into the fish farming area. American alligators are raised here, as well as tilapia. Our guide provided us with some feeding pellets and we were able to throw them into the tilapia tank and watch a true feeding frenzy.

Then, we traveled back through the greenhouses where our guide pointed out even more interesting crops and farming techniques. And you can bet, if there are greenhouses at Disney, there are Mickey shaped fruits and vegetables!

At the very end of the tour, our guide invited us to take an exclusive photo with a Mickey shaped pepper tree – a photo that can only be taken during this tour.

Behind the Seeds 2

I did get my insider knowledge of where my food comes from that I was craving. However, I would say that this tour is aimed more towards those interested in farming, agriculture, and horticulture. The tour is designed for all ages, but I think that anyone younger than 10 would probably be a little bored at times.

I do think that this tour offers a great value for guests who are interested in taking a close look at behind the scenes areas of Disney, and I can guarantee that you will learn something new during your one-hour tour.

If you are thinking about taking part in the Behind the Seeds Tour, make sure to book your reservations in advance. For your touring schedule, I suggest riding Living with the Land, then taking the tour, and then having lunch at Sunshine Seasons. Sunshine Seasons is the Quick Service dining location in The Land pavilion and serves up many of the fresh items that you will have learned about on the tour. I highly recommend the fish tacos!

Have you ever done the Behind the Seeds Tour? What were your thoughts? Let me know in the comments.
