Is Disney working on Doctor Strange Meet & Greet?

DS

DS

Presently Disney Auditions is looking for male actors to portray Doctor Strange for a limited engagement appearance this fall at the Walt Disney World Resort. We are unsure if this will be a meet & greet or possibly some sort of stage show? The use of any Marvel Characters have been very limited due to licensing issues.

Disney will be adding a preview of Doctor Strange to One Man’s Dream at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in October as well.

I am looking forward to Doctor Strange which is coming out this November!

All new Roots of the Ingredient Tour in Living with the Land

20160915_121034

While on tour of one of my favorite rides at Epcot I noticed a new little tour called Roots of the Ingredient inside Disney’s Living with the Land boat ride in the Land Pavilion. New this year Disney is giving you a chance to see where the food from some of your favorite Food & Wine Festival items are coming from.

While nothing more than just some signs and a chance to see some of the foods from around the World Showcase it is still a pretty cool visual.

Check them out below and don’t forget to check out my post of all the Epcot Food & Wine Festival Food Booths & Menus!

Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress gets a new paint job

Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress

Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress

While at Walt Disney World this past week I was able to get over to Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress to check out the new paint job. It looks like Disney is repainting many items right now in the Magic Kingdom.

There is the Castle Spires & the rocks just outside of Tomorrowland that are getting a fresh coat of paint too.

I did ask the cast member if there were going to be any changes to the inside of the ride and all they were able to tell me was the typical, “you never know…”

No matter what I am glad to see Disney giving many of the attractions around the park a much needed face lift.

Top 5 Ways To Make Your Disney World Vacation More Magical

DiningPlan Collage

Walt Disney World Family vacations are a ton of fun, and the perfect way to make memories that will last a lifetime! Of course – in addition to fun, it might also be stressful, expensive, and time consuming to plan and execute a family trip to a place like Walt Disney World. But fear not! I have compiled this list of tips to help you make your Disney Vacation less stressful and more magical:

Know Before You Go: Disney World is a BIG place FULL of things to do, see, and eat. So, you’ll want to brush up – do some research (chip and co is a great place to start, plus the Walt Disney World official website has useful info too!), check out what rides and attractions you and your family might like, and look at some maps to get a lay of the land. There are plenty of great Guidebooks out there too, with a lot of in depth information and reviews to help you plan

Book Fastpasses: For those of you who don’t know, fastpasses are a way for you to avoid (some of) the long lines when waiting for popular rides/attractions. You can book them ahead of time, and can pre-select up to 3 per day. Let your family help too – and give them each a chance to pick at least 1 must do ride/attraction that you can book a fastpass for. Learn more about how fastpasses work here, and for the record – I HIGHLY suggest you take advantage of the ability to pre-pick some rides, because any time you DON’T have to spend in line can be used for other fun stuff (like obtaining delicious Mickey shaped snacks, for example)

Use ADR’s: This is another service Disney offers that I HIGHLY recommend you take advantage of. ADR stands for “Advance Dining Reservation”, and it is a way to essentially “pre-reserve” sit down meals at the Disney Parks and Resorts up to 180 days before your vacation. It isn’t a traditional “reservation”, but more like a “call ahead” where you arrive at a set time and are put next on the list for a table. These are basically NECESSARY for many of the more popular character meals, so if you have character lovers in your family – you better make sure you’re on the phone or online exactly 180 days before your trip to make those ADR’s for Mickey and the Princesses! I know it may seem NUTS to make reservations for a restaurant 6 months before you go on vacation, but trust me – it’s just something you need to do, as the days of just walking up to a WDW restaurant and hoping for an open table are OVER – ADR’s are the wave of the future, so you should definitely take advantage and book as many as you can!

Stay On Property: There are about a million places to stay in the greater Orlando area – and while many of them offer amazing lodging and plenty of amenities – for me, there’s no better place to stay than right in the magic, at a Walt Disney owned Resort Hotel. Not only are you as close as you can possibly be to the WDW Parks, but you’re able to take advantage of some other perks too. One of the BEST ones is Extra Magic Hours – where each day one of the parks stays open late an extra hour, and one of the parks opens up an hour early too ONLY for guests staying at WDW Hotels. It’s a great way to ride your favorite ride again and again with little to no wait, or to get some great photos in an almost empty Park

Let Disney Do The Driving: Don’t bother with a rental car – if you’re staying at a WDW Resort you really don’t need it, and even if you aren’t, many of the nearby hotels offer daily shuttles to the Disney Parks – so if I were you, I would sit back and let Disney do the driving! Once you’re on WDW property, you can take advantage of their transportation options – including monorails, boats, and buses to get you from place to place. And they even offer free shuttle service to the Orlando airport if you’re staying at a Disney hotel too – the “Magical Express” brings you to and from the airport and even takes care of checking your luggage for you too (another perk of staying on property…it’s starting to sound pretty good, isn’t it?)

If You Need Help – ASK: You will not find better customer service anyplace, seriously – Walt Disney World employees are the nicest, most helpful people ever – so don’t be afraid to ask for directions, or assistance with anything you might need while at the Parks or Resorts. They are super knowledgeable, and if they can’t answer your question, they will promptly find someone who can. No one expects you to memorize a Disney guidebook before your trip – so rest assured knowing that Disney Cast Members are always there to help fill in the blanks and make your trip the best it can be!

2 Additional medical assistance response carts may be added to Walt Disney World

RCID

The district which governs over Walt Disney World, Reedy Creek Improvement District, will be adding two additional medical assistance response carts. Pending next year’s budget approval there will be six new paramedics and the response carts.

These medical supply carts bring medical supplies to Walt Disney World and help the guests who need medical attention until the ambulance arrives. The medical assistance response carts are small in size carry medical supplies but are not set up to transport patients.

The Reedy Creek district administrator said it is easier to have these carts present rather than driving ambulance to the parks every time there is an incident.

When the new carts are approved there will be one stationed in Disney Springs and one moving around throughout the property at Walt Disney World.

Decorate For Halloween With These Fun Nightmare Before Christmas Ornaments

20160911_103044

Are you looking for some fun Disney-themed ideas for your Halloween decorating?  If you have a thin pencil tree, a table-top tree, or if you happen to have a black holiday tree on hand, then you have the foundation for creating a spooky feature indoors, or on your front porch.   The Nightmare Before Christmas ornaments provide fun and decorative elements for your Halloween tree this year.

The Ear Ornaments are 3-dimensional with decorative elements all around.  Each ear of the ornament is decorated front and back as well.  I find the ears to be a really fun way to add the Disney touch to your holiday decorating.

The Jack Skellington Ears Ornament is features his primary black and white colors with pops of orange and yellow.  The back of the ornament feature’s Jack’s ghost dog, Zero.  Jack’s signature is found inside the gaping mouth of the jack-o-lantern.

The Sally Ears Ornament is more colorful with her traditional light-blue face and red hair.  The ears feature the patchwork of Sally’s dress on one side, while the other side features her “Deadly Night Shade” make-up.  The back of the ornament is Sally’s red hair with her signature and black rose on the back of one ear.

Take a trip to Halloween Town with this fun ears ornament.  The Pumpkin King has been kind enough to sign the back of one ear on this ornament.  His primary color scheme is orange and black with a truly frightful face on the front.

The ever-popular Oogie Boogie also has his own Ear Ornament.  His coloring is a bit off but the other movie elements such as the stitching and the dice, are on point.  He has even taken a moment to leave his signature on the back of one ear.

Sandy Claws is resplendent in this fun Ear Ornament representation.  I love the reds, purples, and greens against the bright white of his face.  The back of the ornament features his sack and his signature.  This particular ornament is my favorite of the Ear Ornaments.

And what would Ear Ornaments be without a Mickey option?  This one is really cute and is a good option if you are looking to add Mickey Mouse to your ornament collection.  One side features a fun Mickey face, while the other side displays a fearful Mickey face. The top of the ornament gives the illusion of the Mickey Pumpkin being filled with candy.

If you prefer a more traditional ornament you will find some additional options in The Nightmare Before Christmas line of ornaments. I particularly enjoy the Sandy Claws ornament.  The colors are fun and Zero is sitting beside Sandy Claws complete with his jack-o-lantern nose.

Decorating for the seasons is always so much fun.  If you enjoy the Autumn season and Halloween, then The Nightmare Before Christmas ornaments may be just what you are looking for to complete your holiday decorating.

Which Nightmare Before Christmas Ornament is your favorite?  Please leave your comments in the box below.

Limited Edition Food & Wine Festival Annual Passholder Glasses

Annual Passholder Glasses

The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival has officially begun! This festival is the biggest and longest yet, and has many fun extras to be discovered. One of the biggest anticipations of this festival has been the Annual Passholder Glasses!

annual-passholder

Disney has offered special limited edition gifts with festivals before, but this one is a little different. Like last year’s limited edition glass, you still have to attend the festival on THREE separate days to be eligible. Unlike last year however, there is no stamp collecting, or having to fill out your personal info. To be registered for the 3 visits, you simply have to scan your Annual Pass, or MagicBand linked to your pass when you enter the park. This will “check you in” to the Food and Wine festival. Once you have accumulated three visits, you can visit Innoventions East. It is located just behind the Electric Umbrella quick service, and is home to Colortopia.

Once inside Innoventions East, you’ll see signage directing you as to where to go. Simply follow the path around, and you will be greeted by a Cast Member ready to scan your band or pass. If it says you are eligible you’ll be allowed to go in and receive your glass, as well as continue past, and check out the passholder only festival offerings. The tumblers are nice sturdy design, with a screen printing of Mickey. I was honestly very proud of the quality of these glasses.

You can check out gorgeously designed vineyard displays showcasing the Passholder only items, as well as the special limited edition t-shirt as well.

Your glasses will also come wrapped in the magical Disney packing paper, unfortunately no beverages are included. Tee hee! SO if you’re a passholder make sure you’re going and getting checked in so you, your family, and friends,  can get your very own Annual Passholder Glasses!!
