Mike, Sully, Randall and many others from the University cast adorn these leggings in a collage. Best of all, these are also under $15.00 with free Prime shipping!

Tower of Terror sign Removed from Disney California Adventure Building

It seems if you were hoping that the Guardians of the Galaxy switch at Tower of Terror at Disney California Adventure wasn’t going to actually happen, then you’ll be pretty upset when I tell you that the Tower of Terror sign has officially been removed from the building. It seems the plan to re-imagine the ride is moving along, and Tower of Terror will soon be no more.

User @HoJoAnaheim on Twitter posted the photo you see above from their camera feed, where it is visible that the sign is no longer there. What do you think about the upcoming changes to the attraction?

Disney’s in hot water with new Maui costume from Moana

sge88uflmfoyjgwwb9db

Disney’s newest movie Moana is a celebration of all things Polynesian and it promises to be as wonderful and family oriented as many Disney movies before it. However with Halloween so close and children loving to dress up as their favorite Disney character there seems to be some controversy building around the film.

The costume was created in such as way that the skin of the person wearing the costume seems to be brown covered in tattoos with a grass skirt, much like the demi-god Maui it is portraying. This doesn’t seem like a problem until you realize not every child has brown skin.

Some feel that although the custom is a perfect match for children with darker skin children who are white and wearing the costume will be in brown face, claiming that even if the face isn’t shaded in it is still offense.  Children should be able to wear costumes of whomever they choose but critics are claiming that suggesting children try to change their skin tone to match the costume is inappropriate.

Disney has not made any comments on this matter and the costumes are still available, meanwhile many news sites are asking Disney to remove the costume from the shelves.

How do you feel about the costume and children of all colors wearing it?

Disney Files Patent for Image Projecting Light Bulbs in guest rooms

img_4157-1

Disney is looking at making their hotel rooms into a fully immersive environment with the help of Image Projecting Light Bulbs.

Disney was issued the patent last month for these new Image Projecting Light Bulbs where they could be used in their hotel rooms to make sources like lamps and ceiling fixtures project animated images onto beds, walls, tables you name it.

Here’s a detailed description from the patent:

For instance, right now if one plays a car racing game on a computer, they not only drive the cars, they also hear them, hear other cars, hear the crowd, see fiery crashes, hear the explosions, and the game play is back-grounded by emotional music and the like. If they play with a slot car, they only get to drive a car. There are few sounds, certainly no background music to amp up the emotions. When they play on a screen, the world is completely surrounding and immersive, they only have to move by brain through the frame of the screen bezel and they are into another world. If they play in their room, none of this is true.

The goal of the projector with its camera and audio attachments of the display systems described herein is to allow a room, where ever the room is located, to become as immersive as any screen environment or even more so.
To this end, the display system is a device that can be both an input and an output device. On the output side, the display system is a projector of still or animated visual imagery, and the display system may include a speaker or otherwise be capable of sending audio signals to speakers elsewhere in the room. In this way, the display system may provide an audio track to projected imagery to enhance the display and/or gaming experience.

img_4158-1

According to the bizjournal devices such as your smart phone or tablet could be used to work with these new Image Projecting Light Bulbs. The surfaces  in your room could be used for interactive play basically making your hotel room into a interactive video game. How cool is that?

Is Disney working on Doctor Strange Meet & Greet?

DS

DS

Presently Disney Auditions is looking for male actors to portray Doctor Strange for a limited engagement appearance this fall at the Walt Disney World Resort. We are unsure if this will be a meet & greet or possibly some sort of stage show? The use of any Marvel Characters have been very limited due to licensing issues.

Disney will be adding a preview of Doctor Strange to One Man’s Dream at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in October as well.

I am looking forward to Doctor Strange which is coming out this November!

All new Roots of the Ingredient Tour in Living with the Land

20160915_121034

While on tour of one of my favorite rides at Epcot I noticed a new little tour called Roots of the Ingredient inside Disney’s Living with the Land boat ride in the Land Pavilion. New this year Disney is giving you a chance to see where the food from some of your favorite Food & Wine Festival items are coming from.

While nothing more than just some signs and a chance to see some of the foods from around the World Showcase it is still a pretty cool visual.

Check them out below and don’t forget to check out my post of all the Epcot Food & Wine Festival Food Booths & Menus!

Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress gets a new paint job

Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress

Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress

While at Walt Disney World this past week I was able to get over to Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress to check out the new paint job. It looks like Disney is repainting many items right now in the Magic Kingdom.

There is the Castle Spires & the rocks just outside of Tomorrowland that are getting a fresh coat of paint too.

I did ask the cast member if there were going to be any changes to the inside of the ride and all they were able to tell me was the typical, “you never know…”

No matter what I am glad to see Disney giving many of the attractions around the park a much needed face lift.
