Details on Na’vi River Journey at Pandora-World of Avatar

Walt Disney World has released more details on one of the ride attractions opening at Pandora-World of Avatar, Na’vi River Journey.

During this journey, you will float through the sacred bioluminescent rain forest in search of the Na’vi Shaman of Songs. Guests will glide down a gentle, mysterious river and feel a sense of wonder as the full beauty of Pandora reveals itself. The Na’vi River is located within the Valley of Mo’ara and offers explorers an experience that has yet to be seen and heard to believe!

You will start your expedition by climbing aboard a reed boat and drifting downstream. After you coast through a series of caves, and pass by exotic glowing plants and amazing creatures of the rain forest, you will find yourself face-to-face with the Na’vi Shaman of Songs.

The journey comes to a conclusion as the Shaman demonstrates her deep connection to the life force of Pandora– and sends positive energy into the forest through the power of her music!

Pandora-World of Avatar is located at Walt Disney World in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park. FastPasses for Na’vi River Journey are now available in anticipation of the official opening of Pandora-World of Avatar on may 27th, 2017.

Colin Farrell in talks to star in Disney’s live-action Dumbo

The latest actor in talks to join in on Disney’s live-action adaptation of “Dumbo” is Colin Farrell. The film will be directed by Tim Burton.

Ehren Kruger wrote the script for the project, which is based on Disney’s classic animated 1941 movie about a baby circus elephant who is made fun of for his large ears and is separated from his mother. Eva Green and Danny DeVito are already signed on to the project.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, but sources say that one thing the new version does is expand and deepen the circus aspect of the story.

Farrell was most recently seen in Warner Bros.’ Harry Potter film “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” and A24’s indie film “The Lobster”. He has previously worked with Disney, starring in “Saving Mr. Banks“. Farrell is repped by CAA and LBI Entertainment.

The new take on “Dumbo” is one of several live-action adaptations in the works at Disney, based on the studio’s classic animated films. Its most recent, “Beauty and the Beast” starring Emma Watson, had a record-breaking box-office debut last weekend and has crossed $500 million at the worldwide box office.

Disney’s “Beauty And The Beast” Charms It’s Way To The Top Of The Box Office

Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” has ruled the box office for a second week, setting a record for the highest 2nd weekend ever in March in the process. The tale as old as time earned another $88.3M over the weekend in the US and Canada. It’s also the fourth second best weekend ever. That brings its domestic total to $319M.

Internationally, the film opened up new markets with $119M over the weekend and is on the way to closing north of $373M over the weekend. That brings the overall global total to $690M.

The movie has been aided at the box office by fans of Harry Potter coming to see its leading lady Emma Watson. There’s also the legions of parents who are bringing their kids to see the remake of the original animated film they fell in love with. It had a really strong week thanks to many parts of the US being on spring break.

Disney’s off to another amazing start in 2017. It will take another strong week, more new countries, and a third strong weekend, but “Beauty and the Beast” could be the House of Mouse’s first billion dollar film as they company attempts to beat it’s all-time box office record of more than $7B last year.

Duffy Bear Has a New Friend Stella Lou Joining him at Tokyo Disney Sea

I absolutely love the Duffy Bear story, and character! I fell in love with Shellie May, and squealed in delight when Tokyo Disney Sea announced Gelatoni. So I’m so thrilled to hear that Tokyo Disney Sea has introduced a new Duffy friend, Stella Lou!

Stella Lou is an adorable bunny who dreams of becoming a dancer on Broadway! When Duffy met her practicing every day along the American Waterfront, he decided he wanted to help her dreams come true! Stella Lou is all about inspiring us to know and follow our dreams!

She is a light purple plush bunny, dressed in an aqua skirt, with a matching aqua flower atop her head. She wears pink ballet slippers, and has a beautiful purple hidden Mickey that is visible when her ear folds down. Of course the signature Mickey paw prints are on her feet, that you can see when she isn’t wearing her signature ballet slippers.

Stella will be joining Tokyo Disney Sea’s American Waterfront with a Character meet and greet. There will also be lots of too cute for words merchandise, and even Stella Lou inspired foods! The Stella Lou parfait looks so colorfully delicious! I also love that the pita comes with a real flower!

The merchandise will feature her outfit, key chains, purses, stationary , drink ware and more! The Stella Lou and Duffy tote bag is my personal favorite! It’s not only roomy, but even has side pockets, fabulous! You can look for these at select locations at Tokyo Disney Sea beginning March 30th!

James Gunn Announces A “Guardians Of The Galaxy” Double Feature

“Four hours of Guardians bliss” according to James Gunn, is coming to theaters. The writer-director of “Guardians of the Galaxy” and its upcoming sequel announced on Saturday that a double feature is coming to select theaters in RealD 3D on Thursday, May 4.

This isn’t the first time theaters screened back-to-back Marvel movies — in fact, it’s actually one of the shorter marathons. In 2012, AMC Theaters screened the entire MCU Phase 1 lineup, beginning with the first Iron Man, as a lead-in to the premiere of The Avengers. A more exhaustive blitz took place in 2015 for Avengers: Age of Ultron, and last year, Marvel brought a Captain America-specific marathon to theaters ahead of Captain America: Civil War. Comparably, four hours seems like a breeze.

According to Gunn, those who show up for the Guardians double feature will receive “an exclusive poster and souvenir collectible button set.” Tickets for the extravaganza are on sale now. Check out the announcement and a new poster below

Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 sees the return of Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper), Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel), Yondu (Michael Rooker), and Nebula (Karen Gillan) on a new space adventure. Kurt Russell (Ego the Living Planet), Elizabeth Debicki (Ayesha), and Pom Klementieff (Mantis) will appear as new characters in Marvel’s galaxy far, far away.

The film opens in theaters everywhere May 5.

New Changes to Lunch and Dinner Menu at Liberty Tree Tavern

Liberty Tree Tavern in Disney’s Magic Kingdom is a longtime favorite of Disney guests, often called the “Thanksgiving Restaurant”. Serving tasty American favorites like Roast turkey, roast pork, mashed potatoes, and herb stuffing. I am happy to report that two popular a la cart items that were removed late last year, New England Pot Roast and the Fish & Chips are back on the lunch menu. (Dinner, as always, remains All-You-Care-to-Enjoy, served Family Style for all guests.)

And you better leave room for dessert at dinner because “Oooey Gooey Toffee Cake” is now on the dinner menu. If you haven’t yet tried this Liberty Tree Tavern lunch favorite because you usually only dine here at dinner now is your chance. Vanilla cake with a gooey toffee filling, caramel sauce, and vanilla ice cream is the perfect way to end a meal at this classic Magic Kingdom dining location.

All you can eat “Oooey Gooey Toffee Cake” anyone?

New Signage for The Edison in Disney Springs Indicates Late 2017 Opening

The Edison was originally slated to open at The Landing Disney Springs in late 2016. Signage later indicated a Spring 2017 Opening. This weekend we discovered new signage for The Edison Disney Springs that indicates a Late 2017 Opening.

Construction continues on The Edison Disney Springs building. Clearly there is still much to be done. The construction scaffolding spans the side and back portion of the building and there are no windows installed in that section of the building yet.

Standing on the bridge that crosses from Planet Hollywood to Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’, we can see a bit of what is happening behind the construction walls. The building itself is quite large. There is a bridge that leads to a lower level of The Edison Disney Springs from the area just behind the Characters in Flight Balloon.

The building itself is being designed after a 1920s-period Light and Power Company. The entertainment theming will be reminiscent of the Imaginers and Inventors that were all the rage during that era and will feature a Cabaret style of music and performers. The menu will feature Craft Cocktails and Classic American Cuisine. The Edison Disney Springs is shaping up to be an interesting night-life venue for adults.
